Freedom that has been eroding quickly since the 2012 elections restored NH democrats back to elected office.

On Wednesday, March 13, the state House of Representative is expected to consider House Bill 135, legislation that attacks your right to self-defense.

It is critical that you contact your state Representative(s) TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose HB 135.

House Bill 135, introduced by state Representative Stephen Shurtleff (D- Merrimack 11) drastically infringes on your inherent right to self-defense by repealing important self-defense self-defense provisions enacted in 2011.

HB 135 would make the following changes to New Hampshire’s current self-defense laws:

1) Eliminates the provision that allows a person to use deadly force anywhere he or she has a legal right to be. This limits an individual’s ability to defend themselves or a third party from assault to their own place of residence.

2) Amends the definition of non-deadly force by removing the provision that specifies the act of producing or displaying a weapon is considered non-deadly force. Thus, drawing or exhibiting your firearm to intimidate a perpetrator could be considered deadly force.

3) Repeals the provision granting civil immunity for the use of force in certain circumstances. The elimination of this provision removes legal protections for law-abiding citizens acting in self-defense.

We need you to call AND email your state Representative(s) TODAY and encourage them to protect your right to self-defense by opposing HB 135.

NH congress is very close to voting away our gun rights.

Representative Linda Finn actually said that all private firearm owners should register their guns with their local police and that these owners should pay a fee of $100 per gun. She believes that this is a solution to the issue of who wants guns and how they can have them.

Although, on a federal level, there is not much chance of Obama getting any tough gun control measures passed by congress. Both Democrats in the Senate combined with the Republicans in the Senate and House are opposed to any measures such as banning a list of firearms one can own or limiting the size of magazines a gun can have.

There are several States across the country toying with gun control measures that will affect many American's 2nd Amendment rights.

We need to work harder at finding candidates for the 2014 election to strengthen and support our desire to live by the U.S. Constitution and minimize Federal and State Governments from their intrusions into our lives.

As romantic as that may sound, please remember that if it occurs, it would be the 3rd American Revolution. The 1st was won by the revolutionaries and America won it's independence from Britain. The 2nd American Revolution was the American Civil War. It was the bloodiest and costliest war ever fought by Americans. The revolutionaries lost that one. But there are strong resemblances from today's issues to those other two revolutions. They are worthy of note.

To the understanding of where we are today and how we got there, I am suggesting that all of you read a new book called, "America The Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great" by Dr. Benjamin Carson, M.D.

I have not finished as yet but I will soon and will be happy to start a dialogue on the book.
