He has been a career politician in Georgia's 2nd Congressional District for over 20 years. His "base" is all one color, and he has been in on the gerrymandering of the congressional districts to ensure that he keeps that base, pllus some. Voter fraud suspected, but of course, not verified in the 2010 mid-terms. Republican Mike Keown had a HUGE vote lead over Bishop until the votes were "counted" in Muscogee County and Dougherty County. Fishy, to say the least. Bishop was involved in the Pigford fraud involving pay-outs to black farmers. He was involved in two other scandals as well within the past few years. Some high-dollar attorney in Atlanta somehow got him out of a scandal involving his stepdaughter and her husband working at the Muscogee County Marshal's Office while also having full-time jobs in the Atlanta area (can't remember the suburb). Bishop is a glaring example of why we need TERM LIMITS in Congress!

Anthony Mucciolo posted an update in the group Georgia Is it Fair? By any stretch of one’s imagination, is it fair that our Congress and the Obama administration try to suck every available dime from Americans while sending multiple billions to nations abroad? Can they possibly convince the most uneducated simpleton in America that they are representing the best interests of our country when they gouge our own people year after year?

How is it that I, a simple minded American, can think of this solution, and the minds of these Harvard and Yale graduates are struggling with answers? Here’s my simple minded solution – If 100 billion dollars is needed – why not inform the 50 + countries that receive our money every year that they will be receiving up to 2 billion dollars less this year because America needs its resources? Is my idea insane? Is my intellect too limited to comprehend the magnitude of the situation?

I’m a Real Estate Broker, and I have become aware that billions of potential dollars are not coming into the treasury from unused and unprofitable government owned real estate. Why are they turning us citizens upside down for a few extra dollars instead of hiring someone to lease and or sell unused and/or unnecessary property holdings? It’s wasteful and unprofitable! They have allocated five million dollars to study goldfish!

I have friends who work at Boeing who marvel at how they charge the government as much as $250-$350 for a wrench and a screw driver!! Government can’t find more than 100 billion dollars - simply can’t account for it – so they want us to make up the losses. Our government is wasting billions and billions of dollars or preventing these monies from coming into the treasury while telling America that everyone needs to pay their fair share. People on welfare and the lower income wage earners pay no taxes at all. But if we did away with the federal income tax and only taxed those items purchased by the public, everyone will have a little skin in the game. By the way, you can find this suggestion in the Federalist Papers written more than 200 years ago. I didn’t go to Harvard or Yale, yet in my lowly intellectual state of mind I can find solutions!

Speaking of taxes – Are real estate agents the only ones who can comprehend that most people can actually afford to pay the mortgage note they signed at closing? For example: Let’s just say that a middle income family obtained a $200,000 mortgage at 5% interest. His mortgage note would be approximately $900 per month for 30 years. But the mortgage company wants an additional 1/12 of the Homeowners insurance and 1/12 of the taxes added to the $900 every month for a total of what could easily be $1500-$1800 per month depending on the taxes. Property taxes continue to rise and mortgage payments continue to escalate until we can no longer afford the payments. We’re losing our homes to the local and state tax man.

Again, am I one of only a few that gets it? Maybe I should start a Political Action Committee and ask people to make donations to help me get into Congress. At least I would fight for lowering the tax rates and increasing revenue by leasing office space, farms, etc. Then again, if my intellect is so low, that may not be a good idea.

Let them know that WE"VE HAD ENOUGH AND WILL NOT TAKE IT MORE! They work for us! Make the 9/09 march look like a walk in the park. I was theren along with 1 million fellow "Tea Party Patriots!" Occupy the capitol and all other government buildings (we own those buildings), clog every street and drain the cesspool! Only "WE THE PEOPLE" can take our country back before it's too late and gone forever! This administration is totally corrupt! It has an agenda to destroy our beloved country and take away our freedom and liberties! If we do not act now, do you think we can survive another four years under this Marxist/ Communist Dictator Barack/Barry Huessein Obama/Sotero or whatever this fraud's real name is?? Spread the word to other chapters and lets get the ball rolling now!

erotao posted an update in the group Georgia Hi Steve,

These are fine goals, but the real challenge in any collective endeavor is coordination and mobilization. Tea Party members have a distinctive flair for being independent and decentralized, but now that the initial fervor of 2009/2010 has faded, any successful attempt to effect political outcomes will require more organization and concentration.

I'm new here and still learning the ins and outs of the Tea Party Patriots website. So far, though, it's unclear to me what the chief purpose of this forum is. Activity appears to be sporadic and there doesn't seem to be any way to organize discussions according to various topics. I don't meant that as a harsh criticism; after all, we -- and especially conservatives -- tend to focus on those things closest to our personal lives: our families, our jobs.

Sustained political activity is a very difficult thing to maintain and I understand that. So Tea Partiers need to begin thinking about ways in which we can act collectively under any given set of circumstances. As I said above, the initial fervor of 2009/2010 has faded, which means we're less likely to see robust protests across the nation. So what are the alternatives? Well, the other day I happened to catch Bradford Fitch, a Washington journalist, on C-SPAN. He was discussing the various ways in which ordinary Americans can attempt to influence their elected representatives at the nation's capital. To my surprise, he said that congressional aides keep very close tabs on their representatives' Facebook comments. According to Fitch, as few as 30 comments about a particular issue is enough to cause the representative to pay closer attention to it.

I mention that because, if Tea Partiers are less inclined to protest but still interested in being effective, then we must be willing to engage in alternative modes of effective lobbying. However, returning to my original comments, we must also keep in mind the importance of coordination and mobilization; and to that end, I think it would be wise to have some sort of leadership structure. For Georgians, that leadership structure can begin with learning more about Bertha, Julianne, and Debbie, our state coordinators. It will also be useful to have one or two "whips," similar to those in Congress, who are able to rally the troops when necessary -- e.g., to organize a boots-on-the-ground protest, or to coordinate a sustained Facebook campaign.

Communication, coordination, organization, and leadership all will be vital to ensuring that the Tea Party -- and more important, its political principles -- remain viable in the long-run.

Just my two cents.

When the national organization sent emails to all state members announcing that it had formed I joined. I look forward to getting involved with the Tea Party of GA in our pursuit to maintain our natural rights and reduce the Federal Government.
