*The Barnstable County Special Commission on County Governance meeting scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 6:30 PM – was CANCELLED at the last moment with little or no public notice!! (it sounds like a rather disorganized group, in my opinion).

THE special commission MEETING HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR: Wednesday, January 11, 2012, 6:30 PM – Barnstable County Superior Court Building, Room 11/12. Among the topics on the agenda are: Revenues: Discussion of unused revenue capacity of county and discussion of potential for new revenues.

As I stated last week folks, and hate to say it again, in all likelihood any talk by the Special Commission about new sources of revenue will mean NEW and MORE TAXES are going to be levied upon the people of Cape Cod if the Special Commission succeeds in dramatically and unnecessarily expanding the size, scope and role of the Cape Cod, Barnstable County Regional Government!!!

“They will be accepting public comment at this meeting as well…hint, hint…”

…and for this reason, I still say…may God have mercy on our souls, my friends…
