On Sunday, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) told John Roberts “I don’t think shutting down the government is a good idea” when it comes to delaying Obamacare. He is right, and Tea Party Patriots is proud to stand with Senator Paul.

Ever since the delay/defund effort began, the media and many Washington politicians have done everything possible to create a false dichotomy. They argue that attempting to delay Obamacare will automatically shut down the government, when in fact a shutdown would only happen if President Obama prioritized his signature law over a functioning federal government. This would mean giving ALL Americans the same regulatory relief the President is giving to his allies in Congress, unions, and big businesses.

How do we demolish this false dichotomy? Activists must continue to engage in dialogue with representatives and the media. Call your Senators and Representative, tell them you support the delay/defund effort. The media must hear from you as well, with phone calls, letters to the editor, op-eds, and press releases and comments on articles. We must also show up at town halls. The opposition has plans to control the narrative; we must show them that the majority of Americans support delaying Obamacare.

The narrative the media has created only continues if we let it. We have fewer than 50 days to delay Obamacare – let’s get to work. Help stop President Obama from shutting down the federal government.
