Administration Delays Employer Mandate Until After Election
Today, Tea Party Patriots (TPP), the nation’s largest tea party organization, criticized the Obamacare “train wreck” following the Obama Administration’s announcement that the employer mandate will be delayed until 2015.
“One of the Senate leaders called Obamacare a train wreck, and the delay of the employer mandate until after the mid-term elections shows the Obama Administration agrees,” said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator for Tea Party Patriots. “If Obamacare is so good, then why do American families, in poll after poll, say they want no part of it? If Obamacare was supposed to save money, then why are health premiums set to go up by at least $3,000? If Obamacare is supposed to insure everybody, then why will it cause 66 percent of workers in small businesses to lose their current coverage with even the Congressional Budget Office saying that Obamacare will leave 30 million Americans uninsured?
“If Obamacare is good for doctors, then why have 83 percent considered quitting over Obamacare? If Obamacare is good for our economy, why have 41 percent of businesses frozen hiring directly because of it? And, if government-run health care is so much better than free market health care, why is free market health care chugging along like it always has – saving lives and nursing Americans back to health – while government-run Obamacare is off the rails with yet another bureaucratic train wreck?
“Congress, do the right thing: represent us, stand on principle, defund and repeal the Obamacare train wreck before we all crash and burn in the collateral damage of rising health costs, lower quality care, and loss of existing insurance coverage.”
