About Us
It all started with a phone call to Glenn Beck's radio program from a gentleman who was so frustrated with the direction that the country was taking, but felt all alone in his frustration. In fact, he felt so alone that the only way he knew how to deal with it was to shut out the world and retreat within himself. Glenn vowed that day to prove that he was not alone, and so began The 9-12 Project. At the origin of America, our Founding Fathers built this country on 28 powerful principles. These principles were adopted from cultures all over the world and from centuries of great thinkers. We have distilled the original 28 down to the 9 basic principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. 9 Principles 1. America Is Good. 2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life. 3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. 4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. 5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. 6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. 7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. 8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. 9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. Then, on March 13, 2009, Glenn launched the next phase of the initiative by introducing the following 12 Common Sense values. 12 Values Honesty Reverence Hope Thrift Humility Charity Sincerity Moderation Hard Work Courage Personal Responsibility Gratitude These are the 9 Principles and the 12 Values (The 9/12) that we strive to uphold every day as we work to return to the basics outlined by our Founding Fathers in The U.S. Constitution. During the same time frame, Rick Santelli, market commentator from CNBC, called for a nationwide tea party to protest the government’s plan to reward bad behavior by refinancing bad mortgages and the Tea Party Movement began. The two initiatives--The 9/12 Project and the Tea Parties--caught the attention of hundreds of thousands of Americans and rallied them into action. We have learned that we are absolutely not alone! It is our goal to wake as many Americans up as possible to the slow deterioration of our Constitutional liberties that have occurred over the past 100 years. We The People need to reassert our authority given to us under The Constitution to get our country back on the path that was laid before us by the Founding Fathers and maintain America as the greatest nation that ever existed in the history of the world.
