We need to let our Representatives know that if they vote for the  RULE "deeming" the Senate healthcare bill passed, that will be considered a yes vote for the health care bill. It is very important we stress this.

March 18, 2010 Update - 11:20 am EDT

North Carolina Congressman Heath Shuler has moved from a firm No to undecided. There is concern from some that he may have cut a deal.  Congressman Shuler needs to hear from his constituents.  Phone calls, protests at his district offices, etc.

 Washington D.C. Office

RE:CBO Estimates -  CBO Report just a guess, not accurate.“Although CBO completed a preliminary review of legislative language prior to its release, the agency has not thoroughly examined the reconciliation proposal to verify its consistency with the previous draft. This estimate is therefore preliminary, pending a review of the language of the reconciliation proposal, as well as further review and refinement of the budgetary projections.” (CBO Director Doug Elmendorf, Letter To Rep. Nancy Pelosi, 3/18/10, P.1)

From Rasmussen Reports  - Fifty percent (50%) of U.S. voters say they are less likely to vote for their representative in Congress this November if he or she votes for the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats.  34% are more likely to vote for their Congress member’s reelection if he or she supports the president’s health care plan.

March 17, 2010 Update  -  7:00pm EDT

We have received an intelligence report from the front lines of the health care bill battle. The following need to be contacted ASAP by their constituents and asked to vote no.  If you don't live in their district, please contact people you know in their district and ask them to contact them.

You are a fool if you buy into this "Tea Party" crap. Where were your tea parties when Bush was ruining the country? Anyone that goes to a tea party and buy's into it, is a stupid, ignorant fool. Someone that doesn't have any facts to back up what they think is going on. You need to wake up.

Patriotman: You have clearly lost. We are continuing to fight and we will preserve freedom and take our rights back. Might be time for you to visit a psychiatrist. If you're over 50 you better go now because soon you'll be paying for healthcare but not receiving any.

From Patriotman Posted 3/19/2010 4:30:57 PM

It's over.
We have clearly lost.
It is time to unite behind the President and not be ashamed that we fought for our opinion but there comes a time to stop the nonsense and move on.

From garyranderson Posted 3/18/2010 5:32:07 PM

It was recently discovered that deep within the HealthCare bill is a provision for the funding and hiring of 16,000 new I.R.S. agents, to oversee the HealthCare SLAVES (us) just in case you refuse to buy the government insurance, and NOT pay the fine. They will simply TAKE what they want from you! --FairTax is the ONLY tax plan that totally ELIMINATES THE IRS (out of business). One more reason to be FAIR, not FLAT.

From emiarmstrong Posted 3/18/2010 1:03:30 PM

Re: Health Care H3590

Dear Congressman

I will be 80 years old on next May 25th. I have lived through a difficult depression and World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Gulf Wars I and II, the continuing wars in Afghanistan, the unrest in the Holy Land, the Croations and Serbians and what ever else has been in existence in the past almost 80 years.

I had a first husband who served in World War II and a second husband who also served in World War II. One in the Pacific theater for four years; one in the European theater for five years. My husbands father served in WWII and is buried in Arlington Cemetery. I had a friend who was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. I had a brother, a cousin, several friends who served. As well as a church member and friend who was also killed in a bombing raid the day before D Day and a school mate who was killed in action in Korea. I know what sacrifice and the pain of it is.

In school I studied our country's history. and a lot of it concerned our Revolutionary History. Please be patient with me and hear me out as I am so sincere about this. I live in Williamsburg, Virginia, not far from Yorktown. I always make it a yearly Pilgrimage to Yorktown on October 19th the anniversary of the Cornwallis surrender at Yorktown.

I visit Surrender Field and the two main Redoubts, Redoubts 9 and 10. If you have never been there, you would be amazed to see them especially Redoubt 10. It looks like so little, but the British had no where to go except to fall many feet down off a cliff into the York River below which was about 80 feet deep at that point. They probably would have all drowned and so they surrendered.

The surrender ceremony took place the next day at Surrender Field. Cornwallis did not attend because he claimed he was too ill to do so. The surrender of Cornwallis was handled by one of his officers by the name of O'hara.

Whenever I go there, I'm usually alone except for my dog and so I'm not ashamed to shed tears of appreciation and gratitude over what our forefathers did for us many years ago. I say prayers of thanks while I am there and plead with the General to intercede for our country with our Lord and God and ask him not to let their sacrifices and those that came after to have been in vain. I think of all those who came after that to do the same thing especially those whom I knew personally.

When I traced my husband's history I found that he had two relatives in that war, and he had one in the war of 1812. I think of General Washington and the soldiers he had and the sacrifices they and he made to give us this country. It was a gift and a gift I treasure. Then I think of succeeding generations and the gifts they gave of their lives to protect the gift that we were given by that group of soldiers and a general so many years ago.

Please do not let this wonderful gift be shredded by this attempt at giving us health care plan that most Americans don't want. We are smart Americans and we know why it is being attempted. Sir, if you care about America as we have known it, be a hero to Americans and get involved in maintaining the Republic we have and save us from this type of health care which will turn us into a Socialist Country. . Protect what so many Americans have fought and died for. Serve the interests of the majority of Americans and not those of your party.

You as a Congressman have almost a fiduciary responsibility to believe and fight for that right for all Americans and you should protect it for us as so many before us have done and died for. Don't let that all be for nothing.

As a Congressional Representative you should feel required to represent American views as we have been spelling them out for many months. Our only recourse is to remember it at the ballot box. I assure you that as an American citizen that has seen our country through so much pain, I will, and I know many other Americans will also.

I understand that you will be unable to answer my email.

Most sincerely and God Bless!!

Savanah and Chuck Todd are basically begging Bart Stupak to vote yes, he is holding strong but did say his life is being made miserable by pro health care advocates. He went as far to say hs wife had to turn off their phone at 3AM as even she was getting harrased.I called his office in Michigan to encourage him to stand firm and the fact that MSNBC is lobbying him on the air means to me they need him.

I have called Bart Gordon's office. I've written him a letter. I've sent e-mails to him and his COS. I don't think anything is going to change his mind. Wouldn't surprise me if he was offered a job in the administration after he leaves the House for his yes vote.

From jrmfg Posted 3/16/2010 3:47:43 PM

I think Congress David Scott, Georgia 13th should be added.
After telling me that he was a “Blue Dog Democrat” and would not vote for the Bill (a response to one of my emails to him), but would vote for discussions on the Bill. He is indicating that he will vote yes, on the Senate Bill. This is his comments on the House Bill, from his web page: “I voted in favor of H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act because I believe it is an important step in addressing the many problems that are occurring in our health care system. The number of uninsured in Georgia has increased from 1.3 million in 2001 to 1.7 million in 2008”

Use this Email address, he does not like it, but it is the only way to get through to him. david.scott@mail.house.gov
