We Like Mike! – Utah Senator Mike Lee’s Book Party

FreedomWorks’ Matt Kibbe, Jenny Beth Martin, and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) In the United States Senate, there is arguably no bigger defender of liberty and the conservative principles than Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah. A constitutional scholar, Senator Lee has worked tirelessly - often behind the scenes - in battles to stop Obamacare, cut taxes, and roll back the overwhelming size of the Federal Government. This month, Senator Lee is out with a new book Our Lost Constitution: The Willful Subversion of America's Founding Document, and Tea Party Patriots was thrilled to co-host a book party for him with our friends at FreedomWorks on ...

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) & Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) Tax Day Tele Townhall With Tea Party Patriots – April 15, 2015

(Photo Credits: Public Domain, Wikipedia (1 and 2) On April 15, Tea Party Patriots was honored to have two tax-fighting conservatives on our Tax Day Tele Townhall: Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH). Except for President Obama, no one looks forward to Tax Day. Shamefully, the tax code has grown into a 70,000+ page monster, the IRS has been used as a weapon against Americans for their political and religious beliefs, and politicians use it to hide favoritism for special interest groups in the form of tax credits. On our tele townhall, both Senator Lee and Rep. Jordan described in detail why we must simplify our tax ...

Must Read from Sen. Mike Lee: Our Lost Constitution

From his first day in the Senate, Mike Lee has been one of the staunchest conservatives and defenders of the Constitution. Lee just published a new book titled, “Our Lost Constitution.” The book tells the untold stories of specific provisions of our nation’s founding document – how they came to be, who proposed them, who opposed them, and more. He’s truly provides a must-read narrative of the Constitution ...

A Word Edgewise

There was much good news, along with a splash of bad news, in this week’s controversial poll from NBC-Wall Street Journal. Whatever the poll’s methodological shortcomings (which we will leave to the trained professionals to sort out), it’s clear that the first-tier candidates are holding firm as “candidates you could see yourself supporting,” even as second-tier figures Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee and Ben Carson are beginning to surge. As we have been saying in this space for some time, all of the GOP candidates are accretive. They all bring elements of support to what could be a winning coalition against Hillary. A bloodbath may break out ...

Epic Obamacare Exemption Flip-Flops

There are many things to dislike about Obamacare. The list - such as skyrocketing insurance premiums, IRS penalties, and the job-destroying on small businesses - is bad enough. But outrageously, Congress has taken the additional step of exempting themselves and their staff from Obamacare. Congress knew how bad a health care law written by insurance lobbyists would be, and they decided to not abide by that same law they force us to live under. President Obama hoped we wouldn’t notice how he illegally authorized the Office of Budget and management (OPM) to treat Congressional offices on the hill as if they were a small business. That allowed ...
