Obama’s new “grand bargain” avoids real tax reform and increases spending

From the Associated Press, reporting on the President’s speech yesterday: Seeking to ease Washington gridlock, President Barack Obama on Tuesday challenged Republicans to accept a new fiscal deal to cut corporate tax rates in exchange for more government spending on jobs programs. The offer was immediately panned by GOP lawmakers, who accused the president of repacking proposals he already supports and making no concessions to the opposing party. The Associated Press reports Senator John McCain (R-AZ) shot down the idea, as did Speaker Boehner and numerous other Republicans. What’s so bad about the President’s idea? First, his speech ...

Standing on Principle, not Party

When it comes to elections, many Americans look to the respective political parties for guidance on how to vote. Many Democrats vote “straight ticket,” as do many Republicans. In this Tea Party Patriots video, however, one American shows how she is putting principles above party. From the video: I’m worried about what’s going to happen to America in the next four years….They just don’t understand the Constitution anymore, or what the country all stands for….It scares me that we can’t say God…pretty soon we’re not going to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It just scares me that, pretty soon, America is going to fade into the rest of ...

by Dr. Gina Loudon As Americans of all stripes shake off their shock over Obamacare being upheld, a chilling realization will soon set in. The good news in the short term, is that the only answer for people who want to escape the federal government takeover of health care is to elect politicians of either party who solemnly commit to the rule of law and swear allegiance to the Constitution. The bad news is that the 1% just completed their utter takeover of the nation and Lord help us now. At first blush, Obamacare, the insultingly euphemistically named "Affordable Care Act", is a battle between the limited government loving political right ...

HEALTHCARE: Obamacare's 2.0 health insurance enrollment period begins “President Barack Obama's plan to extend private health coverage to the uninsured entered a new uncertain phase on Saturday as U.S. government-backed online insurance marketplaces opened their 2015 plans to millions of potential enrollees. The HealthCare.gov website relaunched with little fanfare and appeared to work smoothly early on Saturday with no sign of the technical glitches that paralyzed the operation a year ago and drove Democrat Obama's signature domestic policy to the brink of disaster, exposing him to criticism from Republicans who have campaigned for its ...
