Unlikely Duo: Obama and Roberts Handed The Country to the 1%

by Dr. Gina Loudon As Americans of all stripes shake off their shock over Obamacare being upheld, a chilling realization will soon set in. The good news in the short term, is that the only answer for people who want to escape the federal government takeover of health care is to elect politicians of either party who solemnly commit to the rule of law and swear allegiance to the Constitution. The bad news is that the 1% just completed their utter takeover of the nation and Lord help us now. At first blush, Obamacare, the insultingly euphemistically named "Affordable Care Act", is a battle between the limited government loving political right ...

The reason three times as many Muslims voted for Trump compared to Romney

A poll released last week by the Council on American-Islamic Relations found that President-elect Donald Trump garnered nearly three times as many votes from Muslim-American men and women than Mitt Romney did during his unsuccessful bid for the White House in 2012. The Daily Caller reports: The CAIR exit poll of more than 2,000 registered Muslim voters found that 74 percent voted for Hillary Clinton and 13 percent voted for Trump. CAIR’s 2012 exit poll showed 85.7 percent of Muslims voted for President Barack Obama and 4.4 percent voted for Romney. During Trump’s campaign for the presidency, he released a plan to ban Muslims from entering ...

Policy expert: American middle class in ‘deep trouble’ over Obamacare premium increases

Americans enrolled in Obamacare will ring in the new year with Obamacare premium hikes whose deductibles under the silver plan – on average – are nearly $3,600 for singles nearly $7,500 for families. And, while those who make up to $47,080 will have help with their premiums, those who make more than $47,080 will have no help and be forced decide whether to drop their health insurance altogether. CNS News has the commentary: But a large chunk of the American middle class earns too much (more than 400 percent of the poverty level) to qualify for either the premium tax credits or the cost-sharing subsidies. If these persons don’t have, or ...

These senators just gave the Veterans Affairs secretary a deadline for answering reform-focused questions

A dozen U.S. senators over the weekend requested President Obama’s Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald answer by Nov. 14 four questions about what, if anything, the department has done to address inter-office corruption that led to the falsification of veteran wait-times. “The GAO report states that the VA needs a new comprehensive scheduling plan to ensure that checks and balances are in place so no one can manipulate the current scheduling system. What measures have you put in place to stop manipulation of veterans’ appointment records? What is the timeframe for a new scheduling system?” read the letter. The request comes on the ...

New York congressman rips into VA over veteran’s benefits denial

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) this week requested Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald issue an apology after his deputy undersecretary for field operations, Beth McCoy, in a House Committee on Veteran Affairs’ subcommittee hearing refused to acknowledge the military service of a veteran who suffered a traumatic brain injury and was wrongfully denied Veterans Affairs benefits. The Daily Caller has the scoop: [Veteran John Mitchell] applied for special monthly compensation owed to vets who have TBI, and Mitchell’s physician supplied all the requisite information to the VA, but the VA refused to take that information into consideration when ...

Columnist responds to President Obama’s ‘cult of small government’ comment

Columnist Robert Knight, senior fellow for the American Civil Rights Union, in a recent opinion piece pushes back against a comment President Obama recently made criticizing those comprising “the cult of small government” – in other words, the many Americans that rightly believe in checks and balances and the separation of powers prescribed in our Constitution. The Washington Times has the commentary: If you believe the federal government is too large and powerful, you’re in what our current president calls “the cult of small government.” That’s what he said in a speech last week in Elkhart, Indiana, in which his aim was “to bust ...
