Tea Party Patriots in North Carolina rally opposition to President Obama’s liberal Supreme Court nominee

Members of Tea Party Patriots Field Team made a trip to the Tar Heel State last week, where they recruited local tea partyers to urge Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) to preserve former Justice Antonin Scalia’s legacy on the Supreme Court and continue rejecting President Obama’s liberal, anti-Second-Amendment Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland. “While President Obama is entitled to nominate an individual to the Supreme Court, the Senate has made it clear it will be exercising its constitutional authority to withhold consent of the nomination. We are in the middle of a presidential election, and the Senate majority is giving the American people a ...

Local Tea Party in North Carolina Plans Big Impact on National Election

The Jackson County Patriots kicked off a statewide NC Tea Billboard Project in typical tea party fashion waving flags to passing motorists.  Many drivers in this conservative area, honked in response. Starting in their Western North Carolina backyard with billboards in Cullowhee and Sylva, they plan to put up 15 to 60 in strategic locations across the state. The billboard project is a co-operative effort of multiple Tea Party organizations across the state and is supported by a grant from the nation’s largest Tea Party group, the Tea Party Patriots, Inc. These tea party patriots expect to have a big impact on North Carolina, where, in ...

As Obamacare co-ops crumble, residents in five states have no choice in their Obamacare exchange

Lawmakers nationwide gave speeches touting the Obamacare exchanges, saying the exchanges will create “competition” (though how this works when the exchanges are all hewn from the same rock and under the auspices of Obamacare apparently never occurred to these legislators) and thereby drive down health-insurance prices. They couldn’t have more wrong as the exchanges are crumbling. A total of five states now only have a single Obamacare-exchange option. The Daily Signal has the details: Five states will be down to just one health insurer on the Obamacare marketplace next year, and consumers in 664 counties are projected to face that same ...

Tea Party Patriots Weekly Report from Washington for 6/12/16 CALENDAR: The House will return on Tuesday, June 7, and remain in session through Friday, June 10. The Senate will return on Monday, June 6, and stay in session through Friday, June 10. LAST WEEK ON THE HOUSE FLOOR. The House was in recess last week. But the week before they left for the Memorial Day recess – excuse me, “District Work Period” – was chock full of fireworks, even though the House only voted on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. Tea Party Patriots Weekly Report from Washington for 5/15/16

CALENDAR: The House comes back into session on Monday, May 16, and will be in session through Thursday, with last votes expected no later than 3 PM. The Senate will return to session on Monday, May 16, and will be in session through Friday. LAST WEEK ON THE HOUSE FLOOR: The House came back into session on Tuesday, and took up 21 bills under Suspension. But I’m going to skip most of what happened on the House floor last week, because the only thing of great significance that happened was the consideration and passage of a dozen and a half different but related measures, all dealing with various aspects of the nation’s ...

You Won’t Believe What Happened in GOP Conference Last Night

As you've probably heard from media reports by now, last night Rep. Paul Ryan gave a speech to his colleagues in the Republican Conference meeting that he would accept the job of Speaker of the House as long as he could be a unifying force AND as long as the 3 major factions in the House got behind him. Oh, and there's one other thing. He wants the Republican Conference to change the rules of the House to remove the power of Members to issue a motion to vacate the chair - which you'll recall is the mechanism that Mark Meadows of North Carolina used to ultimately force John Boehner to step down. So Paul Ryan wants to be Speaker as long as he can ...
