Tea Party takes Myrtle Beach by Storm

On Saturday, the Myrtle Beach Tea Party set up a booth at the Irish and Italian Festival in North Myrtle Beach. The plan was to hand out 500 palm cards to the 15,000 expected visitors. Within 70 minutes, all 500 were gone, having been handed out to people who wanted to know about the values of Tea Party Patriots. Volunteers continued to hand out U.S. Constitutions and business cards – along with various Tea Party Patriot literature – for the rest of the day. “It was really inspiring,” said Retired Colonel Ron Hughes, a Board member for the North Myrtle Tea Party. “I wore a hand-made uniform to the festival, and too many people to count ...

"He's just being confrontational," Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots, told Newsmax, focusing on Obama's tax plan. "He knows that's not going to pass either chamber of Congress. Political correctness is incompatible with free speech; we opt not to surrender our ...

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: The FEC’s Internet gag rule (Op-ed by Jenny Beth Martin and Matt Kibbe) Liberals don’t want Americans speaking truth to power “…Just as Williams felled the Liberty Tree to frustrate debate, Ms. Ravel wants to bring the political discourse of freedom-loving Americans under her agency’s heavy-lidded purview with an eye to cutting it off. To hear Ms. Ravel tell it, political speech in cyberspace is unduly influenced by “dark” forces that use blogs, news sites, video uplinks and information exchanges to “pollute” the political atmosphere and poison minds with too much communication. Or, to look at it from the ...

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: A.B. Stoddard: Tough road ahead for Boehner “Outraged members urged retribution, and Boehner stripped two dissenters of their committee assignments, but the rebels are undaunted. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), considered too far on the fringe to become Speaker but who nonetheless started the rebellion on Sunday, wrote that Boehner’s punishment of his dissenters meant that “it appears before we can work together, we are now going to have to have another fight.” Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, said Republicans should study the names of the brave members who opposed Boehner because “one day, they ...

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: Boehner in line for 3rd term as speaker; GOP readies agenda “House Speaker John Boehner's prospects for a new term appeared secure Monday despite grumblings from tea party-aligned dissidents on the eve of a Republican takeover of Congress, while GOP leaders in both houses pointed toward a swift veto showdown with President Barack Obama over the long-stalled Keystone XL pipeline. Senate Republicans, winners of a majority in last fall's elections, began laying down markers for legislative battles ahead.
