The Young Americans for Liberty state conventions continued, which Tea Party Patriots are proud to sponsor. This time, approximately 100 students, along with a few older activists, traveled across the Buckeye state and gathered at the University of Cincinnati on April 11 to learn how liberty activists can successfully promote their message of liberty government. After a morning of training from Chris Doss of the Leadership Institute, the attendees were excited to hear from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-WV). Massie, who of the few champions for freedom in Washington, D.C., gave an update on what Congress is up to. In addition, YAL Midwest Regional ...

Fall Training: Speaking the Language of Liberty

On Wednesday night we hosted the first in our Fall series of training webinars. The topic was Speaking the Language of Liberty and it was presented by Tea Party Patriots' own Bill Norton. Bill discusses some of the message testing that we have done over the last few months and how to speak with words that are uplifting and appealing. The language of liberty really is positive, uplifting, and forward thinking, so it should be used in such a way. Be sure to check out the archive of the presentation as well as download the additional resources. This training series will change to Monday nights starting on 9/8/14 and will continue through 10/27/20...

Thankful for Our Liberty

Liberty. It may not be the first thing on our mind at Thanksgiving, but it’s what fueled a small group of Pilgrims to leave a land of familiarity and embark on a voyage wrought with sickness and uncertainty in 1620. It’s what caused an irate minority to fight for independence and sovereignty during the Revolutionary War, and today, it is the reason we are able to freely celebrate Thanksgiving. Not everyone around the world can gather with family in the safety and tranquility of their homes, enjoy a bountiful table of food, and say a prayer of thanks for their blessings. Yet in America, we are able to do all of these things and more because we ...

Communal monks may have revived individual liberty

Or so described George Will last November: If courts once again become properly impatient with nonsensical explanations, much of what government does will become untenable. It is lovely that revitalized protection of the individual rights of property and striving may owe much to an abbey where all property is communal. It turns out he was right. From Ilya Shapiro at the Cato Institute’s blog comes the welcome news that regulations designed solely to protect the interests of entrenched businesses and the like are unconstitutional: Last week, the Institute for Justice scored a resounding victory for the right to earn an honest living in an unlikely ...

What Does Liberty Mean to You?

It’s often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. With November 6 right around the corner, Tea Party Patriots would like to test that theory by launching a new, fun way to participate in the political process. This initiative is being called “The best of America, in pictures.” The premise of this effort is as simple as it is fun. We will be asking Tea Party Patriots to take a picture of something that relates to whatever word is being promoted. For example, we are beginning with the word “liberty.” So the question to activists is, “What does liberty mean to you?” To participate, simply take a picture of something that speaks ...
