Statement of Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, on Marco Rubio’s announced candidacy

"As we mark the Sixth Anniversary of our original Tax Day rallies, it’s gratifying to see yet another candidate who shares tea party values enter the 2016 presidential race.  We have come a long way, in six years, when three tea party senators are major players in the presidential race. "Sen. Rubio’s personal story inspires, as does his commitment to personal freedom, economic freedom and a debt-free future. "Marco Rubio’s candidacy and the 2016 election are about the future, not the past. He knows first-hand that prosperity comes not from a government program, but from free markets and the hard work done by the millions of individuals ...

Jenny Beth Martin: Tea Party’s Values ‘Resonate with Americans’ (Newsmax – Melissa Clyne)

The number of tea party Republicans eyeing the White House in 2016 speaks volumes about the impact of the movement, Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin said Wednesday on Newsmax TV's "America's Forum."... Continue here.

Tea Party Patriots’ Jenny Beth Martin in The Hill

Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin has a new op-ed at The Hill about Speaker John Boehner’s petty attacks on conservatives in his own conference, and what it has to do with his stewardship of our tax dollars. Writes Martin: In the aftermath of the failed attempt to displace him in January, Boehner moved into recrimination mode with considerable dispatch.  For his sin of allowing colleagues to place his name in nomination for speaker, Rep. Dan Webster (R-Fla.) was bounced from the Rules Committee, along with his Sunshine State colleague, Rich Nugent (R-Fla.). Texan Randy Weber (R) had his name removed as a sponsor of legislation for ...

The Speaker Strikes Back (Jenny Beth Martin Op-Ed In The Hill)

House Speaker John Boehner’s latest volley in his petty war against conservatives in the GOP conference – while saying much more about himself than the men he’s targeting – provides a great opportunity for a discussion about Congress’ stewardship of taxpayer dollars... Continue here.

Statement of Jenny Beth Martin on Rand Paul’s Announced Candidacy

It’s exciting to see another energetic, visionary conservative enter the contest for the 2016 nomination. Sen. Paul has been in the forefront of the liberty movement, and he will do a lot to shape the debate as the GOP field expands. Rand Paul knows that the paths to prosperity and individual liberty are one and the same; to get there we need a transformational reduction of the role of government in Americans’ lives. His popularity with younger Americans makes him an automatic factor in the grassroots movement, and Tea Party Patriots across the Republic look forward to seeing his plan for advancing personal freedom, economic freedom and a ...

Statement of Jenny Beth Martin on No contempt charges for IRS’s Lerner

No rational person can be surprised at the Justice Department’s decision not to pursue contempt charges against Lois Lerner. The rule of law is a foreign concept to Eric Holder, who himself is in contempt of Congress. Of course he’ll play defense for the woman whose contempt for those who disagree with the President weaponized the IRS. The persecution of the President’s perceived enemies gets Eric Holder’s seal of approval. Lois Lerner will never be held accountable.

Statement of Jenny Beth Martin on Georgia SB 127

Politicians of both parties in the Georgia Legislature are conspiring to trample on the First Amendment, and it will be a sad day for liberty if this measure passes. It’s rare when politicians reach across the aisle; they’ve done so in Georgia, though, in hopes of treating grassroots activists the same way Lois Lerner and the Obama IRS have. They seek to intimidate concerned citizens and insulate themselves from accountability, and they’re doing it in a cowardly way, on the last day of the legislative session. They should know that we are watching. This bill is a travesty, and an arrogant, brazen assault on the First Amendment. All ...

Sasse, McHenry Bills Target Amnesty Payouts (Jenny Beth Martin Op-Ed in Roll Call)

For conservatives concerned with America’s sovereignty and border security, there have been some setbacks since November. President Barack Obama ignored the wave election that overwhelmingly rejected his and his party’s stance on illegal immigration, and enacted a lawless amnesty scheme by fiat... Continue here.

Statement of Jenny Beth Martin on Ted Cruz’s announcement

It’s fitting that Sen. Ted Cruz will be the first announced candidate in the GOP presidential field. In his two short years in the Senate, he has yielded to no one in championing the values of personal freedom, economic freedom and a debt-free future. As the field expands, we will look forward to seeing how the other candidates advance the liberty movement and put forward conservative solutions to undoing the mess our ‘transformational’ president has made of our Republic.
