Tea Party Patriots’ Gregg Cummings Honored With Iowa Eagle Forum’s “2014 Eagle Award”

(Photo: Tammy Kobza, State Director, Eagle Forum of Iowa) Eagle Forum was founded in 1972 by conservative movement icon Phyllis Schlafly. Long before there was the modern Tea Party, Schlafly was busy promoting Senator Barry Goldwater’s (R-AZ) presidential campaign and stopping the so-called “Equal Rights Amendment.” Today, she is 90 years old and continues to defend the Constitution. Phyllis Schlafly knows the importance of the grassroots, which is why her organization honors the tireless efforts of America’s hardest working patriots. This year, Eagle Forum has honored Tea Party Patriot’s National Coordinator with Iowa’s 2014 Eagle ...

Judd Gregg shows what’s wrong with establishment thinking

Growing up in New Hampshire, I was deluged with positive reviews of then-Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) by the New Hampshire Union Leader. Senator Gregg was praised as a budget hawk, so I was confused when I came to D.C. in late 2008 and saw him help create TARP. Then, after leaving the Senate, he became part of the revolving door of power when he went to work for Goldman Sachs as an international advisor. Senator Gregg did a number of good things in office, such as strongly pushing for a substantial, if imperfect, tax reform bill in 2010 with Democratic Senator Ron Wyden (R-OR). He is also credited with effectively killing the CLASS Act before it could ...

Last year, Seedco received $1.2 million for the same services in Tennessee. HEALTHCARE: For Many New Medicaid Enrollees, Care Is Hard to Find, Report Says “Enrollment in Medicaid is surging as a result of the Affordable Care Act, but the Obama administration and state officials have done little to ensure that new beneficiaries have access to doctors after they get their Medicaid cards, federal investigators say in a new report. The report, to be issued this week by the inspector general at the Department of Health and Human Services, says state standards for access to care vary widely and are rarely enforced. As a result, it says, Medicaid patients often find that they must wait for months or travel long distances to ...

When Government Makes Your Business Theirs

For those who believe in personal freedom, Tuesday’s oral arguments at the nation’s highest court hold significant value. The outcome will have profound implications on the government’s say in private businesses. Through Obamacare, Washington has sought to tighten its grip on companies through higher taxes and more regulations. Never before has the government made such an effort to force owners to comply with laws contrary to their religious convictions.   The two high-profile cases – Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. and Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp. v. Sebelius – have stirred the Right and the Left to action, resulting in ...
