(Photo Credit: Josh Harper) More than 50 patriot activists met at the Tuloso Midway Middle School  for the first Corpus Christi (Texas) Tea Party meeting for 2015 on Tuesday, January 27th. And they have started the new year with enthusiasm, thanks to the historic midterm elections! Rick Milby, their Local Coordinator called the meeting to order and Bob Jones offered "A Moment in History" about Henry Ward Beecher [1] the abolitionist.  Jones (in the cowboy hat) is famous among Tea Party activists, as he spoke at the original Tea Party in Corpus Christi, on April 15, 2009. TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: McCaul border bill is not enough to stand up to Obama (Jenny Beth Martin’s op-ed) “During the 2014 midterm elections, Republicans across the country campaigned hard on opposing executive amnesty by President Obama, and securing the country’s borders.  The president famously intoned that “every single one” of his policies was on the ballot; the voters took heed and rewarded Republicans with historic majorities. The GOP now has a chance to make good on its pledges. Unfortunately, the current Republican “border security” bill is not the vehicle for them to show that they’re serious. With the misleading title ...

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: HOUSE HOMELAND SECURITY COMMITTEE AIDES SAY NO FENCE FOR BORDER, BECAUSE IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE (Quote by Kevin Broughton) “Tea Party Patriots is calling on House Republicans to amend the McCaul bill so as it does include interior enforcement, something McCaul’s team has originally resisted claiming they don’t have the jurisdiction to do so. “For whatever reason, the Homeland Security Committee was in a hurry,” Tea Party Patriots spokesman Kevin Broughton told Breitbart News. “Now, our focus will be amending this legislation which is sorely lacking any meaningful teeth. The House — with a smaller GOP Conference ...

TEA PARTY PATRIOTS: WWE In DC: The Fake Border Fence Throw-Down (Quote by Kevin Broughton) “Obama’s immigration policies are unpopular. A January poll by The Washington Post said 89 percent of Republicans and 54 percent of independents oppose Obama’s amnesty. Tea party groups are also pushing to change McCaul’s bill. ”We want to tighten up this bill and we don’t think adding some or all of the [previously passed] language is an unreasonable expectation,” said Kevin Broughton, a spokesman for the Tea Party Patriots network. The network is asking its supporters to lobby their legislators for a better bill. ”We make it easy for them ...

HEALTHCARE: Insurers Are Delaying Obamacare Payment Deadline Again “Obamacare insurers that are part of the industry’s top trade group are voluntarily giving customers more time to pay their premiums this year.  Premiums for Jan. 1 coverage are usually due by Dec. 31; the deadline to sign up for coverage in most states was Monday, although a growing number delayed that date as well. But insurers are giving customers an extra grace period to pay for their coverage, which varies by each company, according to America’s Health Insurance Plans. Insurers will still provide health insurance beginning on Jan. 1, even for those who haven’t paid ...

HEALTHCARE: OBAMA: ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU ... TO SIGN UP FOR OBAMACARE “President Obama is turning to Mariah Carey’s popular Christmas song  in an attempt to sell Obamacare. When the president appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show earlier this morning, the host sang part of the chorus which includes the lyrics: “I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know.  Make my wish come true, baby, all I want for Christmas…” “… is for you to sign up for healthcare at healthcare.gov,” Obama finished, without singing. After the song, Obama joked that Seacrest should stick to being a radio host instead of ...

Happy Bill of Rights Day!   HEALTHCARE: OBAMACARE BLAMED FOR KILLING HOSPITALS Closures by the multitude seen as danger to patients, harbinger of future “Eighteen acute-care hospitals across the United States shut their doors in 2013. At least 12 more hospitals have closed this year in rural areas alone. More are getting out the plywood to nail over windows and barricades for doors. Don’t worry, it’s just the new normal under Obamacare, says Lee Hieb, M.D. “Events happening now give us some idea of what medicine will be reduced to in the future,” Hieb writes in her forthcoming book, “Surviving the Medical Meltdown: Your ...

HEALTHCARE: Job health insurance costs rising faster than wages “People with insurance through an employer—that is, most people with health coverage—are paying "more in premiums and deductibles than ever before" as those costs outpace the growth of wages, a new report finds. Total premiums for covering a family through an employer-based plan rose 73 percent from 2003 through 2013, while workers' personal share of those premium costs leaped 93 percent during the same time frame, the Commonwealth Fund report said. At the same time, median family income grew just a measly 16 percent. If that wasn't painful enough, deductibles—or the amount ...

HEALTHCARE: NYT: WORKING-CLASS DISGUST WITH DEMOCRATS HITTING 'DANGEROUS LEVELS' “Progressive New York Times columnist Thomas B. Edsall wrote on Tuesday that Democrats' embrace of Obamacare's redistribution scheme has angered and alienated working-class and middle-class Americans.  "Even though midterm elections favor Republicans, the 2014 results show middle and working-class dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party rising to dangerous levels, which threatens the party's growing demographic advantages," wrote Edsall.  As Breitbart News reported last Wednesday, the latest Gallup poll finds that President Barack Obama's approval rating with ...

HEALTHCARE: Study: 42 Percent of New Medicaid Recipients in the Last Two Years Were Immigrants “Almost half of the low-income Americans who have enrolled in Medicaid in the past two years are immigrants to the United States, according to a new report, suggesting that Obamacare’s large expansion in the program will disproportionately benefit immigrants as well. “The data show that immigrants and their children accounted for 42 percent of the growth in Medicaid enrollment from 2011 to 2013,” the CIS report says. Because immigrants are more likely to have low incomes or lack insurance from their jobs, they’re much more likely to be ...
