Tea Party Patriots: Obama Abusing His Authority to Bail Out Insurers’ Obamacare Losses Atlanta, Ga. – Tea Party Patriots CEO and co-founder Jenny Beth Martin released the following statement today, reacting to reports the Obama Administration is planning to ignore Congress and use an obscure Treasury fund to bail out insurance companies losing money by participating in Obamacare. “Obama and his henchmen are, once again, engaged in a desperate attempt to prop up the collapsing disaster that is Obamacare.  Once again Obama is abusing his authority and completely going around Congress to bail out insurers stiffed by Obamacare, despite the ...

Rep. Brat: ICE tells me ‘No. 1 problem’ facing federal immigration authorities is local authorities ignoring detainers

Rep. Dave Brat (R-Va.) is optimistic about legislation he has coming down the pike that would increase immigration controls and choke funding for terrorist organizations in an effort to enhance national security under an administration that has been lax in that area. The Washington Examiner has the details: Federal detention policy enforcement has been loosened under the Obama administration, and local law enforcement agencies sometimes refuse to comply when requests are submitted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "I had met with the head of ICE, and I asked [about] the number one problem … He said it was the problem of these detainers," ...

House, Senate strike tentative deal to reauthorize Ex-Im Bank, extend pricey highway bill

Congressional negotiators from both the House and Senate Tuesday came to a tentative agreement on a $305 billion highway bill that would extend federal transportation funding for five years and reauthorize the Export-Import Bank. The Hill has the details: The resulting 1,300-page bill, paid for with gas tax revenue and a package of $70 billion in offsets from other areas of the federal budget, comes just days before transportation spending is set to expire on Dec. 4. The measure calls for spending approximately $205 billion on highways and $48 billion on transit projects over the next five years. It also reauthorizes the controversial Export-...

Call to Action: Tell Congress to Vote NO on Ex-Im Re-Authorization

Today, Nancy Pelosi is working hard to bring back another wasteful and corrupt government program that uses our tax dollars to line the pockets of some of the world’s largest corporations. Call now and tell these Congressmen NOT to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank (Ex-Im). A vote on reauthorization is expected today, so act fast! That’s right! While everyone has been distracted by the race for Speaker of the House, some Members of Congress have been trying to revive this wasteful government program. Atlanta, Ga. – On Wednesday, Tea Party Patriots, along with other conservative leaders, will host a press conference to call on the leadership of the U.S. House and U.S. Senate to eliminate any path to reauthorization of the Export-Import bank in upcoming legislation being considered by Congress. "We have consistently opposed the Ex-Im Bank's reauthorization because the Bank represents everything that is wrong with Washington, DC," said Jenny Beth Martin, President and Co-Founder of Tea Party Patriots. DHS rescinds DAPA policy that would have shielded illegal-immigrant parents whose children are lawful residents

The Department of Homeland Security this week rescinded DAPA, an Obama-era immigration policy that – if it weren’t in limbo per a Supreme Court stay on a lower-court injunction – would have authorized three-year work permits for the illegal-immigrant parents of children who are lawful U.S. residents. The Washington Examiner has the details: DHS Secretary John Kelly signed a memo on Thursday directing his employees not to carry out an instruction his predecessor, Jeh Johnson, had put in writing in November 2014 that sought to extend a 2012 program aimed at the illegal immigrant community.
