Exempt America Rally – LIVE BLOG
Jenny Beth: We are all equal. Congress must treat us all equally! Remind them! Thank you for fighting!
EXEMPT AMERICA! DEFUND OBAMACARE!
Hager: Many educational systems, like Common Core, are terrible.
Hager: I am a college professor in a liberal environment. I teach Colonial History, and know the Constitution.
Jenny Beth: Welcome Mark Hager, NC State Coordinator.
Jenny Beth: House is voting right now. We have three Members coming soon — stay for them. Rep. Stockman, Rep. Garrett (who just signed the Meadows letter), and Rep. Jordan.
Dugan: We have not been told the truth about Obamacare, and we still don’t know the truth.
Dugan: Every exemption adds to the burden of everyone else.
Joe Dugan, SC State Coordinator: Obamacare was supposed to lower costs. Hasn’t happened.
Rep. Gingrey (R-GA): I will not stop fighting for the people.
Cain: Tea Party is not dead, and attendees are proof of this.
Herman Cain: The elites want to tell us how to live.
Frazee: “So-called leaders in both parties” have gotten us to this point.
Jeff Frazee: “It doesn’t start with Obamacare” for my generation. We have to fight wars, we are saddled by debt, etc.
Seton Motley, of LessGovernment.com: “Only in D.C. is it a success when it’s trillions of dollars in debt.”
Social Security, Medicare, Amtrak, etc.
Bosse: Only one way to stop Obamacare — defund it now.
Bosse: “Democrats will stop at nothing” to protect Obamacare. “Too many Republicans” are too scared to stop it.
David Bosse, Citizens United: “We want to defund Obamacare.” Congress must act, once and for all, to defund.
Rep. Bachmann: “We are free men! And free women!”
Rep. Michele Bachmann: Stopped in Belgium coming back from a foreign trip. People in Belgium stood strong against the Nazis in World War II, we can stand against Obamacare.
Rep. King: People declared they would uphold an oath to the Constitution. Many have failed to do so!
Rep. King: Obamacare has always been opposed by the American people.
Rep. Steve King: Obamacare was unconstitutional before it became law, and it is still unconstitutional.
Jenny Beth: Don’t let them fool you with the bait-and-switch.
Rep. Gohmert: We can defund Obamacare in the House.
Rep. Gohmert: “Does Obamacare violate your right to privacy?”
From the crowd: “YES!!!!”
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX): “We believe in taking a stand for liberty” in Texas. No funding “more nanny people.”
Rep. Salmon: NO bait-and-switch on the CR.
Rep. Salmon: “I want to desissify Congress.”
Congressman Salmon: No constitutional authority to have federal health care.
Congress is sweating! Keep sending them the message!
Rep. Stutzman: “Go back to Washington and stop Obamacare,” and fix other things — that’s what constituents said in August.
Rep. Duncan: No more fake votes. Defund it!
Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC): “Time is now to fight Obamacare.”
Sen. Cruz: “Sovereignty resides in We the People.”
Winning this fight is simple: “Millions of Americans…hold” everyone accountable on Capitol Hill.
Sen. Cruz: “Only you can win this fight” because the traditional rules of D.C. won’t win this fight.
Sen. Cruz: “Unions want exemptions!”
Simple question, President Obama: What about one for the American people?
Senator Cruz: “We are fighting to save” America.
“Obamacare is the #1 job killer in America.”
Senator Ted Cruz started speaking to cries of “Run, Ted, Run!”
Jenny Beth: The only way to stop Obamacare is to fund the whole government EXCEPT for Obamacare. It’s not ready for businesses, and unions say it will demolish “the 40-hour work week.”
Rep. Yoho: “Until we the people” stood up and said “NO!” the President didn’t listen.
We have to rally, “and say, ‘No, Mr. President.’”
Sen. Paul: “We have to be the caucus with a spine,” and we can’t be “the invertebrate caucus.”
Sen. Paul: Not only will people not have health insurance, they won’t have jobs. Why doesn’t the President exempt all of us?
Senator Paul: “President says you get to keep your doctor, and it won’t cost you any more.”
“It’s gonna cost you THREE times as much” or more.
Senator Paul: In England, there is a long line for care. “Does anyone want to stand in line” for a gall bladder issue?
Marsen: “I have the privilege of introducing” Senator Rand Paul!
Marsen: “You can keep your health care if you like it. Bullshit!”
Hans Marsen, Tea Party leader — “You are the people that give me hope.”
Rep. Meadows: Exemptions for businesses and other special interests — it’s time to Exempt America.
“Your encouragement means a great deal. Your phone calls to the switchboard here mean even more.”
Congressman Mark Meadows: Make sure they feel the heat if they don’t see the light, quoting Reagan.
Right on, Congressman!
Jenny Beth Martin just reminded everyone that Ted Cruz, Senator from Texas, is one of the few Members of Congress fighting for us.
Brent Bozell just gave one heck of a speech, reminding everyone that both parties are guilty of Obamacare still being funded.
