Take Action During August Recess
It is official. The House and Senate are officially in recess and our elected officials are back home in their districts and states. This used to be a time when Members of Congress would have public forums and town halls for the purpose of communicating directly with their constituents. However, since the health care town halls in 2009 when Obamacare was being debated, many elected officials are hard to find during the August recess.
It’s a shame that so many of our elected “representatives” are afraid to face the people. After all, we are the people they represent and without hearing from us directly – how can they truly know how to best represent us?
That is where you come in. This August we are providing tools to help you engage with your elected officials. We’re compiling as much congressional town hall information as we possibly can so that we can let you know when and where your elected officials will be available to the public. We’re even hosting some of our own town halls around the country. We can’t stress enough how important it is for you to attend these town halls with your elected officials.
Finally, we’re including many of the same weekly tools that we have been providing for all of the major issues that we are fighting right now. All of this can be found here.
