Help Senate Conservatives defund Obamacare
“For these reasons, we will not support any continuing resolution or appropriations legislation that funds further implementation or enforcement of Obamacare.”
Letter by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) & 11 co-signers to Senator Harry Reid (D-NV)
In 2010, then-Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) led the fight against establishment Republicans. He founded the Senate Conservatives Fund and helped bring solid fiscal conservatives like Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rand Paul (R-KY) to Washington to join him in the fight against overspending. He repeated this feat in 2012, helping to bring Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) to Congress.
Three years after its creation, the Senate Conservatives Fund faces one of its greatest challenges to date: defunding Obamacare against Beltway opposition in both parties. Senator Lee’s letter is the driving force behind this effort, as it holds all Republicans to a very simple standard of either opposing or supporting Obamacare funding.
You can help. On its website, the Conservatives Fund has a tally of Senators who opposed funding Obamacare in 2013, who has opposed funding in 2014, and those who failed to joined either effort. The tally also includes a list of over 74,000 (as of publication time) Americans who stand with these Senate Conservatives.
We urge you to take action. Sign up as a supporter of Senator Lee’s letter. Then call the Senators who have not signed onto the letter and urge them to join you in preventing the train wreck of Obamacare from taking effect.
This is our last stand. If Obamacare is funded on October 1, full repeal or defunding will be nearly impossible. We must take action now.
