Statement from K Carl Smith. He is founder of the Frederick Douglass Republicans and an author:
I was invited by the Tea Party Patriots to conduct a breakout session entitled: “Trump The Race Card” and share the Frederick Douglass Republican Message. In the middle of my delivery, while discussing the 1848 “Women’s Rights Convention,” I was rudely interrupted by a woman working for the Voice of Russia. She abruptly asked me: “How many black women were there?” This question was intentionally disruptive and coercive with no way of creating a positive dialogue.
In addition, a young man who wasn’t a Tea Party Patriot, made some racially insensitive comments, he said: “Blacks should be happy that the slave master gave them shelter, clothing, and food.” At the conclusion of the breakout session, I further explained to him the Frederick Douglass Republican Message which he embraced, bought a book, and we left as friends.
So the whole purpose for your existence is to provide cover for the racist wing of the far right… so how’s the pay, good?
Apparently, not so good considering the quality of “journalism.”

How original, Blacks as a race can not passionately embrace small government, constitutional principles and fiscal responsibility?

The only Racism is usually from those who refuse to “let it go”. Those who KEEP PLAYING the race card, which are usually liberal democrats of all colors and creeds, continue accusing others of being racists are they themselves usually the BIGGEST racists. Remember when you point your finger at someone you got four more pointing back at you. Let’s all leave racism behind and deal with the ISSUES.
Would you also say that to the young Scott Terry who thinks that blacks should be subservient to whites and slavery was “food and Shelter”. Many minorities could let it go if their white counterparts could too.
Racism is refusal to let it go? You do realize that the statement “everyone should just be separate but equal” was given at CPAC of 2012, not 1680? People not ignoring racist bull is not “refusal to let it go”. People trying to sweep racism under the rug, however, are (looking at you, buddy).
Racism will NEVER end until EVERYONE lets it go. White, black, brown, yellow, red…Everyone! I’m not speaking about any one individual or group; pursuing racism is wrong in ANY form. No matter what color you are, if your racist or you use racism or race baiting to further a political agenda, it’s wrong.

The South became Republican after Democratic President Lyndon Johnson convinced Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The South has never forgiven Democrats for supporting the African-American Civil Rights Movement so they all became Republican… that’s the dirty history of Republicans and racism.
So you are friends with the guy who thinks segregation is cool, but the woman who asks about African American female attendance at a suffrage rally is disruptive? By the way Sojourner Truth was alive and well in 1848. She did not address the woman’s suffrage convention with the Ain’t I a Woman speech until 1851. I think you’re thinking of the wrong tea party. The one that cared about fiscal discipline left this world many years ago. Seriously, check out some of the surveys conducted on tea-partiers. They don’t care about spending, they care about spending on people other than themselves.

K Carll Smith did a great job in this session at CPAC. He handled himself with honor and professionalism. The people who created the chaos are unfortunate to have the views they hold.

It’s the same thing Fredrick Douglass used to do: Pal around with the racists. That’s how the Civil War ended so peaceably, because the people who despised us ended up having so many terrific ethnic friends they gave up their guns and stopped killing everybody. I had meet you several years ago at the Value Voters summit where I purchased your book and you autographed it for me, I have been trying to get the board to schedule You and many others for sometime now and since we have had a board member change recently I think our direction will be more like it should be rather than just another RPV candidate venting machine. Our community is predominately a poor one so if there is a chance you could schedule a meet with us please let know your time frame if you are in the area or close since I hope you are in great demand. Congressional black liars during the opposition of the Healthcare bill still get no documented evidence in audio visual for a 1000000 reward.
