Last night, the final speaker of the series, Leadership Institute founder Morton Blackwell, spoke to Tea Party activists across the country. “Just voting ‘No’” isn’t what the Tea Party does

Yesterday, on Fox News Sunday,” former nine-term Republican Member of Congress Steve LaTourette from Ohio said several dozen Tea Party-minded Members of Congress consistently vote “No” for the simple reason that voting “No” is what impresses the Tea Party. From Mediaite, the video clip and the following description of what LaTourette said: “I don’t think I would say it is all Tea Party freshmen, it is those who seem more interested in voting no and going home than governing,” said LaTourette when asked by Wallace to explain the position. And later in the Mediaite outline: LaTourette proceeded to reiterate his point saying that the ...

Mary Katharine Ham has long been a popular face and name in conservative politics. She has made her name in humorous and hard-hitting political commentary and Peeps. She is currently with the blog Hot Air and a contributor with Fox News. The Hot Air/Townhall.com table was next to the Tea Party Patriots livestream station at CPAC, where Mary Katharine was kind enough to sit down and chat with me for a few minutes:   Dustin Siggins: Give us a little history of your time in politics. Mary Katharine Ham: I was sort of a politically aware kid. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I started noticing some libertarian/conservative leanings ...

Real Story at CPAC

Statement from K Carl Smith. He is founder of the Frederick Douglass Republicans and an author: I was invited by the Tea Party Patriots to conduct a breakout session entitled: "Trump The Race Card" and share the Frederick Douglass Republican Message.  In the middle of my delivery, while discussing the 1848 "Women's Rights Convention," I was rudely interrupted by a woman working for the Voice of Russia. She abruptly asked me: "How many black women were there?"  This question was intentionally disruptive and coercive with no way of creating a positive dialogue. In addition, a young man who wasn't a Tea Party Patriot, made some racially insensi...

A story of two budgets: House vs. Senate

This week, the Senate and House released their budget proposals for the 2014 fiscal year. This is the first time in four years for the Senate, and the third time House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) has led the House in its budget efforts. There are a lot of different assessments going back and forth with regards to both budgets. Here are some important numbers to take in: • The Senate budget averages more than a 4.9% increase in annual spending for a decade. The House budget averages a 3.4% increase per year for a decade. • The House budget aims to balance in a decade. The Senate budget never tries to balance. (Because of ...

Three cheers for the Justice Department

Tea Party Patriots has leveled many criticisms at the Justice Department and Attorney General Holder in particular. This has especially been the case since the Fast & Furious scandal came to light, and more recently as the Attorney General danced around the constitutionality of assassinating American citizens without due process. Well, last week the Department did something worthy of three cheers by Tea Party activists around the nation – unmitigated support for the First Amendment: The Justice Department is urging a court to affirm individuals’ rights to record police under the First Amendment, filing a statement of interest in support of a ...
