Top Down, Insider Party Planning is Antithetical to Conservatism
Today, Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, blasted Karl Rove’s attempt to control local and state primaries with his new elitist, Washington insider group that suggests it will pick the winning and losing candidates in local races.
“Karl Rove blew hundreds of millions on losing candidates in 2012 and now he’s hitting up donors to give to a new entity that presumes to pick winners and losers in local Republican races,” said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots.
“Instead of returning to conservative principles, Rove and the consultant class are pouring millions into picking off conservative leaders. Watering down conservative ideas is not a winning strategy.
“It was Karl Rove’s ‘big government’ policies in the Bush Administration that led to the skyrocketing government spending and the economic disaster the country now finds itself in. Now, he expects top donors to invest in his project. Now, he presumes to tell Americans who they should vote for in primaries, when his own track record is not one of success.
“The Tea Party and the conservative movement stand on principles based on the founder’s vision of limited government. The consultant class has been on the wrong side of history and it is time for conservatives to wake-up and stop funding their sabotage of conservatism.”

The proof is in the pudding, or the LACK of it. How could Karl be so wrong on the last election ? You can’t rest on past laurels and you can’t out Democrat the Democrats, we have to represent something different, not a lukewarm version of pandering to special interest groups.
Rove should have been fired by Fox after his asinine performance on election night. Remember how ridiculous he acted? Why they keep paying this moron I will never know!
i live here in the Austin Texas area and not too long ago we held the Formula 500 here. I also am a regular listener to KLBJ talk radio as I am a very strong Conservative. Karl Rove is also I believe a resident of this area, and he was seen at an upper level steak restaurant after the event by one of our fantastic KLBJ talk radio hosts.
This particular host was seated nearby and overheard Rove bragging about his lies and deceit conducted on Fox News among other places and scenarios. He was laughing and joking about his actions. He actually thinks that this is a funny thing and is actually proud of his dishonesty!!
Needless to say … the KLBJ talk radio host was so sickened by this display that he got up and left the restaurant without even eating.
Karl Rove is a DISGRACE and should not continue to represent any true America loving, respectful Conservatives!
Thank you for reading my comment.
Karl Rove always looked like a fake. What’s new….Fox better shape up. It’s always about the ratings.
Rove is nothing more then the Conservative’s version of the blathering idiot, James Carville. Rove is pathetic, and not for liberty or freedom. Just another Washington hack in search of his own fame and fortune. FOXNEWS needs to stop listening to this guy, as if he knows what he is talking about. He helped the left get Bathhouse Barry back into office. Shame on him.
Karl Rove needs to go home, sit down, and SHUT UP! HE’S AS WORTHLESS AS TITS ON A BULL.
“The architect” sounds like a nickname only a mastermind could love. These consultants is pure liberalism influencing republicans to sabotage conservatism while enriching themselves. Karl Rove and Mike Schmidt and Romney’s team are the biggest culprits in the democrats taking control in 2008. I hold them just as responsible for oppressing americans with laws such as Obama care as Pelosi, Reid and Barak “insane” Obama
Rove, Romney and his advisers, Congressional RINOs and the RNC…….ALL dismissed and ignored the Tea Party followers and Conservative leaders that are in a position to elect Constitutional Conservative representatives to Washington. Their arrogant attitude and disrespect resulted in the loss of the Presidency and losses in the Senate.
Compare that to the endorsements by Sarah Palin and the number of WINS to Congress her candidates had the past two election cycles.
Karl has made one too many errors on his whiteboard.
He has lost the last little bit of respect he once had. It is long past time that he should be put out to pasture and may those who have supported him pop there heads out of the sand, take a hard look at the reality of the crisis our nation is in and rethink where their future support will do the most good.
If the businessmen and large donors feel their money has been well spent supporting a soft ball, compromise on the path to socialism and redistribution of the wealth it seriously brings into question the reason for their donations in the first place.
We cannot give up our principles and values. I am extremely disappointed with Karl Rove. I feel all the “rhinos” need to return home and stay there, they are contributing to the demise of the Republicans. I’m ashamed of them, my party the “R”! I want to join a party that is moving forward with worth while ideas and values, that they are not altering and changing for votes. The Republicans have become a joke. I don’t think either they should have put Reince Priebus, regardless of whether or not he did well, he led a bunch of loosers, who led him. We must have a very strong person not one that will bend to and cowtow to those who think they know better than the rest of us! We must fight for what we stand for: preserving our Constitution!
As a conservative who has voted republican every election, usually more than disappointed with the end result, I promise not to vote for ANYONE Rove is backing. I’d bet there are quite a few who feel the same. If the candidate is TEA endorsed and stands for the principles to which I subscribe, I will vote for him or her.
Theres something wrong at Fox. They kept Rove and not Palin.
Palin is a heck of a lot more conservative than Rove is or ever has been.
Karl Rove’s time has passed. Anyone who does not wish to protect our Constitution is ready for retirement. Respecting the Constitution is what the Tea Party expects.
Fox ISN’T conservative. Never has been. It’s down the middle. It’s just that all the others are so far left they have to look right to see left. It makes Fox seem conservative.
Sarah Palin is disliked because she is strong, respects the Constitution, loves God and family….but worst of all, she is beautiful. If I were liberal, I wouldn’t like her either.
BJHolmes,
You made me LOL. If you think about it, modern “liberals” don’t want anything liberated. At least not women, blacks and hispanics.
I agree, I would like to give you 100 likes…LOL..
I disconnected Fox News during the primaries last year. I was starting to feel as if I was becoming one of the bigots watching MSNBC. While a few of the FNC personalities are good commentators, the likes of Rove and Morris are not among them. I have to wonder, did they leave their previous occupations because they were good at them? After all, who would want to leave action packed political arenas to become talking bobble-head dolls?
Karl Rove is nothing more than a washed-up bag of wind. FNC needs to re-evaluate what they are doing and pay more attention to the true conservatives in this country. I agree that Sarah Palin should get more air time and support from the Tea Party.
Rove and Morris have and always will be in it to sell books, sip fine wine, get asked thier *learned* opinions, attend all the best soirees, and bank the bucks.
Sarah Palin was one of the first with the cojones to expose Karl Rove and the consultant class. Sarah knew little Karl RINOwas the one who sabataged her.
Karl Rove, I despise the very sight of you. Please take a long walk off of a short cliff in Rockies.
I hope you realize this move is all about getting another big government Bush. I don’t know how this group plans on putting the Tea Party voter in their place but I for one will never vote for another Republican Establishment candidate, local or national. As far as I am conserned one just as well vote for a democrat.
I completely agree with you! When it comes time to pay the fiscal piper, it will be Progressives paying not us. Americans become intolerant when they have to pay the price of reckless leadership. Republcans proved it under GW Bush.
We, as Tea Party patriots, need MORE Todd Adkins and Richard Mourdock types running for elective office.
Then we will be even more irrevelent to the American voter…and at least show people we have a sense of humor.
Nice try RINO. What we, as Tea Party Patriots, need is more Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, and Ted Cruz types.
Being more irrelevant is like being more dead. The Establishment Republican party is already irrelevant with the likes of Karl Rove, John Boehner, and the Bush family affiliates. Do you forget the Establishment got the candidates they wanted in the last two failed Presidential elections?
Jerry – But Marco Rubio wants to give the illegals amnesty to win their votes! Not sure we could stand behind that idea.
It’s funny because the Republican Elites want to kick the Tea Party to the curb. Maybe there should be a third party but that will only guarantee victory for the deadbeat Liberals.
The demise of the Tea Party is a myth and is the liberal RINO’s whistling past the graveyard. Rove and his ilk and Fox have done great damage to any common-sense that may survive in the nation. It is reassuring to believe that the Tea Party remains a strong hope for the future.
Transitioning the GOP to having representative internal government is going to be, ironically, a hugely difficult task. The current structure is designed for top-down hierarchical governance, and if you try to change something during a meeting some radio personality or public personality will make an impassioned plea on why we should just go ahead and accept what leadership is offering because, really, they are smarter than us and they understand more, so let’s take a vote and – oh, because it doesn’t look like us in leadership are going to get our way we’re going to change the rules mid-stream or invoke some completely inapplicable rule or principle and shut down the meeting, etc… It’s really dark and sardonic. Getting these turkeys out of leadership – not just at the national level but at the State and local levels – is going to be a monumental task. It has to be done though.
I don’t like to even call them Rinos, since a rhino is dignified, powerful animal. I call the Roves and the other establishment Republicans squirrels or SQURLS as in Status Quo Republicans LoserS. And after all what is a squirrel, but a rat with a bushy tail. And who’s the biggest rat in the Republican Party if not Karl Rove.
Conservatives have to ignore the mainstream Republican party because they have married the elitist Democrat party. They have joined forces to maintain power. Both of these groups have taken money from the financial elite who likes to butter both sides of the bread and never be without a winner. Rove is just the financial elitists Republican lap dog. Rove has been relegated to a delivery boy because the mainstream Republican party is dead. If you don’t believe me, just watch President Obama tongue lash them and accuse them of scuttling the nations economic progress.
The Republicans are going to war with Tea Party Conservatives because these patriots are not prone to the corruption offered by the financial elite.
Conservatives need to stay away from polarizing social issues like abortion and concentrate on economic values illustrating common sense solutions that hurt Americans last and least. For example, there should be talk about altering social security until Foreign economic aid has been severely reduced.
What hipocracy! The Tea Party Poopers loved him when he stole the elections for the Schrub, but, throw him under the bus when they are driving off the cliff.
Bubba,
Thank you for your attempt at comic relief. I had to guess at what you were trying to say. Using my magical TEA powers I deduced you meant hypocrisy and Shrub. I would love to know the basis of your opinions. I cherish freedom, independence from government and can be a party animal. This TEA type withheld his vote from McCain and Romney on the premise that they did not refect my principles. Enjoy your your day and make sure you take the time to thank all the TEA types making your existence more bearable.
If the Republican Party “establishment” makes any attempt to marginalize the efforts of the Tea Party Movement by running “moderates” against Tea Party candidates, I simply will find something else to do on election day.
