Error 404: Agency does not exist

From Reason Foundation, an important find:
If you want a thorough agency-by-agency rundown of the budget cuts sequestration would deliver, the Office of Management and Budget has you covered. In compliance with The Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012, the OMB sent a detailed report to Congress in September 2012. But there’s a small problem with the report: One of the cuts it warns against would affect an agency that no longer exists–and didn’t exist when the OMB sent its report to congress.
The first line item on page 121 of the OMB’s September 2012 report says that under sequestration the National Drug Intelligence Center would lose $2 million of its $20 million budget. While that’s slightly more than 8.2 percent (rounding error or scare tactic?), the bigger problem is that the National Drug Intelligence Center shuttered its doors on June 15, 2012 –three months before the OMB issued its report to Congress.
If President Obama and his fellow Democrats can’t keep track of which agencies are defunct, why should America believe them when they describe a 2% spending reduction as a “hardship?”
There’s no word on if that spare $20 million will again disappear into the federal bureaucracy or actually be cut from the budget.

Dustin,
How beautifully emblematic of why our nation finds itself in dire financial straights. Thanks for the LOL.
No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!
Ronald Reagan
Reagan was only slightly incorrect, it is not eternal life, it is suspended animation.
Reagan was right. When started, income tax was suppose to end at the end of WW2. It was only suppose to help fund the war, but once instituted, it never ended.
first income tax was to fund the civil war imposed 1861–the current tax was foisted upon us by one Woodrow Wilson, the guy that gave us the wonderful Federal Reserve Board,1 year after gaining office–3 years before running for re-election on the claim he would keep us out of World War 1. Lying politicians are an American tradition.
Maybe the OMB found some drugs in the empty building and did them before prepareing the report
Intelligence drugs?
Dim-telligence drugs?
Interesting, my family members that are military are being told to work 5 days for 4 days pay the next 6 months—OK–my family members that work social services haven’t heard a thing. With us having to put up with big sis checking our undies to use public transportation due to some funny religious folks, we seem to be able to furlough our military while keeping the poor folks all happy.
are your family members military civilian workers? because the actual military is paid by the month, not by the day or by the hour. My pay check was the same each month, regardless of the number of days in the month.
Do you know that thing that I can’t remember anymore man? That cost, like, around 20 million? If we cut that thing, like really really bad other things will like maybe happen man. So just give me all your money, man. I’m like the President again for like four more years, so just give me the 20 million and like it now not later man.
All of this stupidity in the federal government leaves me breathless. Agency upon agency duplicating services! 65,000 new federal employees to enforce Obamacare? Czar this, Czar that – all paid high wages and accountable to no one! And the middle class employment continues to dwindle.
