Raising taxes is bad for jobs says…the White House?

As Tea Party Patriots blogged earlier this week, the first White House Press Briefing of the New Year took place on Monday. Shortly after it started, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney blatantly defended special interest tax credits President Obama signed into law.
Defending special interest tax credits is to defend policies that are immoral and economically unfair, and the aforementioned blog post hammered both parties for their dedication to special interests. However, perhaps the most interesting thing Carney said wasn’t his actual defense of the credits – but in how he defended them. Consider his full statement, with emphasis added:
Well, you’re assuming that what you’ve been told is correct. I would simply say that it would strain the credulity of everyone in this room to suggest that Republicans did not support or want tax credits for business. That would truly be turning Washington on its head, and that is not what happened.
The President did support giving certainty to American businesses and consumers by including in the fiscal deal the bipartisan extenders package that the Senate Finance Committee, this summer — or summer of 2012 — passed 19 to 5. And more than 90 percent of the cost of the extenders package is associated with longstanding provisions in the tax code, with clear policy rationale for businesses or individuals, including the R&D tax credit to support domestic job-creating research investments; the production tax credit, which you mentioned, which supports clean energy jobs — if this key support had been allowed to expire, as you know because it was discussed during the campaign, as many as 37,000 clean energy jobs could have been lost; mortgage debt relief to help homeowners, which protect homeowners from paying taxes on up to $2 million of forgiven debt. And the list goes on — bonus depreciation.
So again, going back to the first point, this package of tax extenders was supported on a bipartisan basis by the Senate Finance Committee. The President supported it. But it is, again — you would have to suspend disbelief to accept the premise that Republicans did not.
Last year, the President ran an entire campaign on how raising taxes is good for America and her economy. Barely two months later, his Press Secretary is defending lower taxes for their job creation potential. In any other city, this would be a gigantic joke that would laugh the person making the claim out of a job. In Washington, this is business as usual.

The fiscal issue is of critical importance. However, there is a current issue that is an immediate threat to the existence of the constitutional republic. The president intends to violate the Constitution and write his own laws. This is exactly fascism.
I want to hear someone in the House of Representatives say something like “If Obama violates the Constitution and writes his own law, he’ll be impeached before the ink is dry.”
This is exactly why we needed to remove Boehner as Speaker. Boehner will allow the Democrats to eliminate the Constitution and install a fascist government.
Yep on all points.
Obama is about to test the will of the House leadership and the will of the American people by ripping the 2nd Amendment to shreds. Impeachment would definitely be in order. I hope we have the will to follow through on this. It is high time we went on the offensive!!!
The intent is to set a precedent of the president having the authority to write his own laws. Additionally, he will write a law that violates the Constitution. In one move, they will establish the president as the definition of the government. This will eliminate the Constitution. With the Constitution eliminated, there is no limit to how long Obama can declare himself president.
We warned the Republicans that keeping Boehner will mean the end of the constitutional republic. Nobody has heard a peep out of Congress while Obama states his intent to institute a fascist dictatorship. I want to hear just one, just one Congressman say if Obama starts writing his own laws he’ll be impeached before the ink dries.
If our leadership in Congress doesn’t stop this, a civil war to save the Constitution is inevitable.
Where is everyone who swore an oath to protect the Constitution?
Every soldier has taken that oath, the reason the politicians want to eliminate the high capacity magazines is that they know that the soldiers of today may be convinced that the oath of loyalty to the officers/president supersedes the particular presentation of circumstance that will have them suppress factions of rebels, the soldiers of yesterday may remember that , without the entire constitution, the Machiavellian manipulations of the truth provided by the media, in lockstep with the new patricians, stand moot.
Notice the only jobs mentioned as worth saving were for green energy companies, the kind that donate heavily to Obama and the Demoncraps. That’s 37,000 more liberals that would have been out of work.
” as many as 37,000 clean energy jobs could have been lost; ” Are you kidding me???!!! The U6 unemployment numbers are at 14.4%. The ” clean energy” program under this administration has bankrupted and destroyed more businesses than it has created. The tax increases will either cost or prevent the hiring of how many more jobs!
When is Boehner going to start getting serious and realize anytime Obama or the demos tell or offer him something they are lying. If we have to have a revolution, so be it but stop those idiots from ruining our country.
Speaker Boehner is without doubt not interested in saving this country.
Boenher is a Benedict Arnold traitor and needs to go!
We need to eliminate the mortgage interest tax deduction. This is a giveaway to the banks. Most people count on this deduction when buying a home which results in higher home prices. Also higher prices depending on the state, results in higher property taxes. People think it’s a good deal but only for the states with higher tax revenue due to inflated home prices and for the banks who reap in more interest with higher loan amounts.
Any attempt to violate the constitution should be trigger immediate action to impeach. Period.
I am so discussed with our gov’t, I really thinking about leaving this country. Not one of the elected officials, except Lindsey Graham, has said anything at all about what the President is doing to this country. Everybody knows what is going on, so why are they afraid to do their jobs. He has violated the constitution of the United States of America in so many ways, That any other president would have been long gone for doing what Obama has and is doing to to our country. He took an Oath of Office (twice) to defend the Constitution of the United States, He has not lived up to his oath. Then you have the Benghazi incident. which it has been proven by so many journalist that he has lied, what happened . nothing.. he let those 4 Americans die cause he is in bed with the Islam faction. Then he sends my money and every other Americans money to Egypt when the Islamist brotherhood took over as good faith. Again, in bed with them. Every thing he says is a lie and the whole world knows it. What ever he says, the complete opposite is true. He has total control over the media, talk about being partisan, the only one that tells the truth is Fox news..and they back it up with the proof.WHY ARE WE LETTING HIM DESTROY THIS COUNTRY, Please, somebody give me an answer..He’s a Liar and a Cheat and you no it. Unless you are part of the problem and believe what the Golden Tongue Devils says and only watch his controlled media stations. He continually states that what he is doing is good for our country, again, the complete opposite is true. Where are all the jobs he said he is creating ?? DO RESEARCH PEOPLE..It’s all on the web check it out. http://www.wnd.com is one of the best ones that also tells the truth.
The symbiosis between government and the private sector is perhaps the most abused concept in the tax-value ideal. When a tax is levied against a certain aspect of the private sector, the existent theory of both the president , and the elites, such as Ms. Warren, that it is a partnership, and the provider of the service is the senior partner, as in the case of manufacturing, transportation, distribution, and retail.
What is not considered is that the partnership is not voluntary, nor is it just. This because the goods then being purveyed onto the market are in fact being subsidized from the general fund.
Those goods then underbid the goods not receiving the subsidy and the retail market is lowered while the wholesale market is rigged, a recipe for exactly what has happened, smaller regional companies being bankrupted by devalued goods purveyed by larger companies capable of either specializing or offshoring both production costs and tax burdens.
The balance of a free market requires that the goods brought to that market bear the true cost of production, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and retail. If the cost of the good at the marketplace is subsidized at any point in the chain, the market is being rigged and cannot remain free.
If the nation went to a fixed fuel tax on all highway use vehicles that was of sufficient level to pay the entire cost of the infrastructure, eliminating all the hidden taxes, the regional producers would again be able to compete more effectively.
The jobs being offshored would at least have to pay the true cost of the freight, and the shorter the haul, the more advantage to the market, both to the seller and the buyer.
To effectively cut the cost of government, one must first enable the private sector the ability to produce the goods needed to fund the public sector, this because only the private sector produces the saleable goods needed to carry the exchange value the public sector depends upon to tax. Theft has been tried since the new deal, it has indebted our grandchildren. We really need to grow up before they do.

Benjamin,
You provided me with a good chuckle with that imagery. Thanks! Baghdad Bob would fit right in with the White House clown show today.
