The Great Conceit of the Federal Government

With Christmas and New Year’s upon us, the National Support Team of Tea Party Patriots is taking some time to be with our families and clear our heads of politics, barring any major legislation passing through Congress. Please enjoy these posts from the last few months – a Best of Tea Party Patriots, if you will. Below is the eighth post, published on November 16, which points out the utter conceit of Washington wanting more of your tax dollars to pay for its irresponsible spending.
The Great Conceit of the Federal Government
In 2008, Main Street was forced by Washington to bail out Wall Street through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Now, with the debt accumulated by TARP and other federal attempts to spend our way out of economic doldrums crushing the nation, the politicians want the taxpayers to bail out the federal government. Which leads to the following question: Why should successful, law-abiding Americans be forced to pay more of their incomes into a system that clearly will not use their dollars effectively, efficiently, or morally?
This is the great conceit of the federal government, yet proponents of tax increases ignore it. While spending continues to be irresponsible, we the people are supposed to send more money to Washington to try to balance out the effects of this behavior. Never mind that this involves trusting Congress to actually use the extra income to reduce the deficit and not put it towards new spending.
So, no, D.C. You won’t get any more of our money by increasing tax rates. If you want more money, cut spending and do tax reform. You’ll get the double whammy of less federal interference in the economy and a greater ability for private citizens to flourish. Oh, and you’ll be closer to actually staying within the bounds of the Constitution, something most federal politicians are unfamiliar with.

No More raising the debt ceiling until spending is brought to the level of 1980 spending.
Get rid of the Fed
Fire the CZARS
Defund OBAMACARE
Get rid of Homeland security
Get rid of the BATFE
Get rid of The EPA
Get rid of the IRS
Get rid of the CIA
That would be a good START
Our government is as deceitful and wasteful as it can possibly be. Nothing can be accomplished with obama in charge of anything. With the democratic control of the senate and people like Reid and Pelosi running things our country is headed down the path of destruction.
Daniel, we all have seen bully’s pursue a whimp, as long as the whimp can keep flipping chairs between him and the bully, the bully is going to. keep breaking his shins.
Bob Dole did that to Clinton, and bought time till ’94, Boehner has done poorly.
We need to hold out till 2016 unless we get another Mitt.
The republican elite s worked hand in glove with the democrat juggernaut to give us Mitt, andthe people responded by staying home, had the elites let the system work, the turnout would have beensimilar to’08, and we would be in a positive direction. We simply must keep telling the truth and hope it falls upon ears with brains between them.
Well I hope the country survives. I’d hate to see it destroyed and sold to Canada or Mexico.
The country will survive, the question is, with what form of government?
The only people who can sell our country are the people we elected to represent and serve us. Do you think there’s a possibility they’ll do that?
The poloticians seem to be incompotent. I imagine they have a hard time buying a coffee. I don’t think they have the ability to sell very much
Jefferson,
Who would they seel it to…Canada?
Mitch McConnell gives up everything. No spending cuts. New taxes on the so-called “rich” that won’t be a drop in the bucket relative to the annual deficit.
We got nothing.
The deal McConnell agreed to will only generate 600 billion over 10 years. We’re running an annual deficit of over 1.3 trillion dollars, and that’s before ObamaKare sucks every dollar out of the economy. The agreement McConnell made will add at least 13 trillion dollars to the already obscenely high debt in 10 years. With ObamaKare kicking in, the debt will probably double in half that time.
We need new leadership in Congress at every level.
It’s difficult to believe. It’s like there was no opposition to the insanity in our government.
We got NOTHING.
But, to make matters worse, there’s no reason to be in a hurry. At any time during the Congressional session, any agreement can be reached, and if it is desired, made retroactive to the first of the year.
There is something very sinister in play.
DB,
Sinister sounds scary. What do you think is really going on? The Senate GOP knew all this when they passed it….why would they do it?
We really need to replace Boehner. He’s doing everything the Democrats want.
An idiot knows the deal agreed to avoiding the fiscal cliff will collapse the government.
