Tea Party Vows to Continue the Fight after the Establishment’s Hand-Picked Candidate Loses
November 6, 2012 at 11:31 pm in News by Tea Party Patriots 276 Comments
Tea Party Principles, Not Republican Establishment, are the Clear Path to Victory
Today, Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, criticized the Republican Party for hand-picking a weak, Beltway elite candidate who failed to campaign forcefully on America’s founding principles – and lost.
“For those of us who believe that America, as founded, is the greatest country in the history of the world – a ‘Shining city upon a hill’ – we wanted someone who would fight for us,” Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. “We wanted a fighter like Ronald Reagan who boldly championed America’s founding principles, who inspired millions of independents and ‘Reagan Democrats’ to join us, and who fought his leftist opponents on the idea that America, as founded, was a ‘Shining city upon a hill.’
“What we got was a weak moderate candidate, hand-picked by the Beltway elites and country-club establishment wing of the Republican Party. The Presidential loss is unequivocally on them.
“While it might take longer to restore America’s founding principles with President Obama back in office, we are not going away.
“With the catastrophic loss of the Republican elite’s hand-picked candidate – the tea party is the last best hope America has to restore America’s founding principles.
“Our work begins again today. We will turn our attention back to Congress, to fight the battles that lie ahead including balancing the budget, repealing Obamacare, cutting the debt, holding the line on the debt ceiling, and the many other issues that will arise to threaten America.”

My pledge to the Teaparty is LETS GET GOING….I AM WITH U ALL THE WAY. OUR AMERICA AND FREEDOM IS OURS AND MY AMERICA AND FREEDOM WILL NOT BE TAKEN AS LONG AS I BREATHE.
As just signing up I’m here to find out what the group plans on doing . I’m interested on something national and local at the same time . Something different than what has been tried by any Tea Party in this Country that we are losing .
We have been blaming Obama and he shoulders a lot of the blame but he is just one in a long line of traitors and regardless of what just happened Romney would still be doing the same thing , just a different path .
There isn’t much difference between the two parties , just the letters , good cop bad cop .
Are most of you Tea Bag gers as certifiably insane as you? The real reason you nitwits lost is because the American voter was replused by your odious policies.
It’s really that simple.
Shame on you, my cunt 3
So you approve big government, higher taxes, and you don’t wan’t a balanced budget.
That is all the Tea Party is for smaller government, lower taxes and a balanced budget.
No country has ever taxed or spent their way out of debt. Sooner or later our country WILL run out of other peoples money.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”
- Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948
November 6 / 2012. Welcome the USSA Hope you will be happy. I am not.
If you are only about taxes and big government then call out the racist, the sexist, the homophobic anti women, supporters of restrictions on women’s rights and tell them to find a rock to hide under, then I would support you.
What were those “odious policies” you speak of, and where, preferably on the internet, can I find them listed, and proposed by the Tea Party?
Please do not recite the opinion of outside the Tea Party commentators. Just give us “straight from the horses mouth” policies prescribed by the Tea Party which are odious to you…..and the Obama voters.
I’m looking to get schooled here. Thanks! ……PDoss
We only lost if we accept defeat. Why not organize a buying protest? Don’t buy anything but the essentials until our demands are met. I like the latino community, but I think they misunderstand what they just did, and should pay for it. Demand #1 – all undocumented illegals be extradited. The latino community should pay for backing socialism. What other demands do we have? I am new to the tea party patriot movement, a conservative republican, but believe we have common ground with traditional conservative values that made this country great, like honesty, integrity, morality, and hard-work. The gov’t has a place, and that is to uphold the constitution, not to pick winners, or legislate charity. Legislated charity breeds entitlement, not gratitude. Charity isn’t measured by how many receive welfare, but how many are lifted out of poverty. We don’t have to accept defeat if we can be creative and organized.
With the exception to boycotts, but well said price of freedom. The fight must go on. Jenny Beth Martin you are absloutely right we are the last defense along with the House of Representatives to preserve/ restore our constitutional republic. Unfortunately, the Republican leadership like John Boehner seems to be conceding. WE MAY NEED A PETITION TO ELECT A NEW SPEAKER!!
Scott Goldman(not Scott G)
Actually what you want to restore is white male privilege which left in 1969, your just slow on the uptake….it’s gone and will never come back
Read price of liberty post……that is why You Will Always Lose…..until you get rid of tools like that you are doomed to failure
TEA PARTY KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING, THAT WAY WE CAN KEEP ELECTING DEMOCTRATS. GO TEA PARTY!!!!!
Tea Party ridicula asociación de ultras carlistoides Nazio-nales americanos y demás ralea de fachas
No lo pienso traducir
What a stupid response. Typical nonsense.
Yep, Teaholes, keep putting forward neo-Fascists and watch the Republican Party become extinct nationally as it is in my home state of California.
your use of the term “neo-fascist” shows your ignorance of its meaning and its association with the left. also your obvious pride in your soon to be bankrupt state shows your complete lack of understanding concerning economics. i would suggest a reading of the Constitution and perhaps, “atlas shrugged” would be a help. you have been duped by communists and blinded by your selfishness. i suggest that you reconsider your political beliefs and re-evaluate your your understanding of what “America” means to you.
your use of the term “neo-fascist” shows your ignorence of its meaning as well as its association with the left. as to california, what will you do when your economy collapes and your welfare check is cut off?
right on man, lake county ca native – the tp and the conservative movement is FINISHED! they are already predicting (at best) in 2020 the “re-formed” republicons might have a chance at a few senate seats….dems are in control till 2020 – peroid….if you think differently, your lying to yrself……goodbye tp, neocons, ultra-rt-wing-christian-nutts…hello to a new, and much less polarizing world of govt (we are ON the house), trust me…OCCUPY IS THE NEW PARIDIGM … (they help beat Mitt severely)
CA nears SUPER-MAJORITY OF DEMS (has not happened in over 100+ years)
YAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Its over baby, its over … no more conservative idiots, no more racist TP’ers, no more
An easier way to digest the numbers is in terms of how much debt that amounts to for each Californian. The answer? A lot.
The Wall Street credit rating agency Moody’s says paying down the state government debt accumulated to date will cost each of us $2,559.
The only Americans facing a bigger payback are New Yorkers. Each of them owes $3,208
Now go get your check book Libtard
The TEA Party was instrumental in getting many elected locally. We will eventually take over, just as the idiot Progressives did. But then, it will be in the cause of Liberty and self-determination and not selfish desires to have some one else pay for your lack of ambition.
Yeah, right…you Tea Bag gers are a bunch of old white men whose country has passed them by. You’re hateful of women, blacks, Latinos, intellectuals, non-Christians, students, gays/lesbians…anyone not exactly just like you.
You just keep spewing your vile hate…oh yeah, Americans will be breaking down the doors to join you lunatics…(ha ha)
I know a fair amount of so called “Tea Party” advocates.
Never, have I met one who had those prejudices which you have accused them of.
Incidentally, there is no such entity as a national “Tea Party.” The so called tea party, is actually representative of a fairly common set of beliefs. It is not an organized group, with some kind of platform……as do the Repubs and Demo’s.
I’m not sure how criticism’s of people who stand for and by the constitution, represents an evil grouping.
I’ve yet to read an alternate constitution which can hold a candle to the US Constitution.
To the exact degree that we have strayed from the constitution, we have gone into spiral toward 3rd world economics, and culture.
If I were going to start a “party”…which I am not….it would be the “Constitution” party.
The US Constitution……the greatest governing document ever written by man! Good bye old friend, it was nice to know ya’. …..P. Doss
What a racist comment to make! Just goes to show what kind of people we don’t need running our country from the likes of your post..I have an idea, why don’t you go back the Huffington Post and MSNBC site where you can hang out with the rest of the anti American fags, gays, atheist flag burning bung holes like yourself? You need to leave this country, leave this site at a minimum, stay out of what you don’t know anything about other than what some college professor taught you last year as a freshman. There are people that care enough to do something about it in the Tea Party, people that care about our country, and our people as a whole, not just one racial group. The Tea Party is made up of people that care about what’s right and wrong in this country, (fiscally and morally) willing to do something about it, and at least have some sense of what moral decency means. If that’s a “white male” thing, then I’m proud to know that I stand with a group of people that stands for something good and positive, verses what seems to be a perverted racist angle like the angle in your post. Take that for a ride over the cliff with the rest of your kool aid intoxicated suicidal liberal friends, no one would blink, PUNK.
INDEPENDENT,
YOU ARE NOT HELPING, SO LEAD, FOLLOW OR GET THE H OUT OF THE WAY.
THERE IS A LOT MORE HOWEVER NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THIS VENUE
You guys are just nervous because someone on the right says they are not going away. And we conservatives are not going away. Just watch us.
yeah, but your problem is (that is if you hang around) no one will take you seriously…lol the facsim, rasicm, and lying manipulating ways of the tp (what, 14 tp leaders 2011-2012 arrested on various felony charges, then we have” you can have as much health care as you can afford, women on birthcontrol are sluts, and the 1% is entitled to it all while the 99% fight for scraps)? you’d think by now you’d get the point….ah, will your ilk learn? thats the big question….otherwise (as previously stated all over the damn place) you wil fall into one sentence in a future history book at best…… go re-examine yourselves repub’s….come back when you can have an intellectual conversation, or at least not piss off 27% of whom your addressing…
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a Spanish speaking fascist call me a fascist before.
Just look at their facebook page. With every post, conservativism dies a little more.
I, for one, would love the Tea Party to become a permanent fixture in politics. They demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt, what an extreme right Republican is. I comeplete nut job! To watch these people support Romney til their dying breath up until Nov 5th and then see them turn so quickly on him on Nov 7th demonstrates the mindset of the average conservative.
Cathy, i hear you! I am ready to work hard.
The only thing is that DC will never fix DC. Today’s problems began a century ago. The states have the authority via nullification, Article V and sheriffs interposition. the states can take back control.
I have not heard one running GOP candidate talk about reducing the size of government. Nor have I heard them refer to the Constitution! Today the Tea Party seems like an arm of the GOP. I want the real Tea Party back that knows the Constitution and supports the sovereignty of the states, the intent of the founding fathers and the original Boston Tea Party.
See: restoring freedom.org, the Forgotten men (fb and website) …..the Avalon Project = free online library of documents, Team Liberty, Professor Kevin Gutzman, list goes on and on…..
Tea Party has morphed to be out of touch and an arm of the GOP. Very sad….
I am with you all the way! Tea Party needs to get a candidate to take on Mitch McConnell in 2014! We need real leadership in the senate! Somebody like Todd Akin or Murdoch? There’s got to be somebody to take him on! Tea Party forever! Love, Barack Obama
how do u feel about voting freedom being manipulated by the republican governor in florida? did u wait in line seven hours to vote? california, with twice the population of florida, doesn’t have this problem. the issue in Florida is TARGETED MANIPULATION of their citizen’s right to vote. does this bother u at all? why was romney able to defeat the rest of the GOP field in the primaries? didn’t u have a horse in that race? why do u think u lost?
I just joined the group. It seems appropriate after last night. The Rs have no fight in them!
There are none so blind as those who will not see. The Democrats are the party of Derision, Division and Hatred. I will not succumb to their threats and I am not intimidated. It is time to stand up to them. OK Thugs and Bullies—start your racism and name calling. We do not care. We have had enough!
And your going to what about it?
Are you happy the Republican party lost thanks to the tea party!
No one lost due to the T.E.A. Party.. We had a bad choice to run against a bad choice. It is now evident we need a strong field of our own candidates to defeat both major parties. Romney had our support. He lost this on his own. He failed to push the real issues.
First, i think America has spoken. I respect the efforts of a homemaker who has gained such national prominence. Our country is too important to be intransigent. We must work with the President advocating and helping to move America Forward.
God Bless.
To m,e its hard to talk after the name oBaMa is brought up. America forward is ris words and if it comes out of oBaMa ‘s mouth its a lie.
He is a dictator and going to stay that way.
Moving the country “forward” is a fine idea.
The present example of moving forward is like to guys trying to push a car out of
a snowbank.
One pushing from the front, the other pushing from the back. Lot’s of exertion and profanity, little movement.
I know it is a moot point right now. But if we want to start getting things right take a few minutes an take this quiz. It surprised me. Its time now to make plans to make true change.

At this point after following this topic for a few days and doing some personal soul searching I found something I would like to share. I removed any name from the document so each of you that reads it will with a open mind. I think deep down this is how most of us feel with some tweaking to various points. But it is a start. Remember read it with a open mind an ask yourself with tweaking in areas is this not where we would like to see our government. Like I said it needs tweaking but this is the closest I have found to what I would like to see. Read below
We, the members of the Party, challenge the cult of the omnipotent state and defend the rights of the individual.
We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose.
Governments throughout history have regularly operated on the opposite principle, that the State has the right to dispose of the lives of individuals and the fruits of their labor. Even within the United States, all political parties other than our own grant to government the right to regulate the lives of individuals and seize the fruits of their labor without their consent.
We, on the contrary, deny the right of any government to do these things, and hold that where governments exist, they must not violate the rights of any individual: namely, (1) the right to life — accordingly we support the prohibition of the initiation of physical force against others; (2) the right to liberty of speech and action — accordingly we oppose all attempts by government to abridge the freedom of speech and press, as well as government censorship in any form; and (3) the right to property — accordingly we oppose all government interference with private property, such as confiscation, nationalization, and eminent domain, and support the prohibition of robbery, trespass, fraud, and misrepresentation.
Since governments, when instituted, must not violate individual rights, we oppose all interference by government in the areas of voluntary and contractual relations among individuals. People should not be forced to sacrifice their lives and property for the benefit of others. They should be left free by government to deal with one another as free traders; and the resultant economic system, the only one compatible with the protection of individual rights, is the free market.
1.0 Personal Liberty
Individuals should be free to make choices for themselves and to accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make. No individual, group, or government may initiate force against any other individual, group, or government. Our support of an individual’s right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices.
1.1 Expression and Communication
We support full freedom of expression and oppose government censorship, regulation or control of communications media and technology. We favor the freedom to engage in or abstain from any religious activities that do not violate the rights of others. We oppose government actions which either aid or attack any religion.
1.2 Personal Privacy We support the rights recognized by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. Protection from unreasonable search and seizure should include records held by third parties, such as email, medical, and library records. Only actions that infringe on the rights of others can properly be termed crimes. We favor the repeal of all laws creating “crimes” without victims, such as the use of drugs for medicinal or recreational purposes.
1.3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the government’s treatment of individuals, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships.
1.4 Abortion
Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.
1.5 Crime and Justice
Government exists to protect the rights of every individual including life, liberty and property. Criminal laws should be limited to violation of the rights of others through force or fraud, or deliberate actions that place others involuntarily at significant risk of harm. Individuals retain the right to voluntarily assume risk of harm to themselves. We support restitution to the victim to the fullest degree possible at the expense of the criminal or the negligent wrongdoer. We oppose reduction of constitutional safeguards of the rights of the criminally accused. The rights of due process, a speedy trial, legal counsel, trial by jury, and the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty, must not be denied. We assert the common-law right of juries to judge not only the facts but also the justice of the law.
1.6 Self-Defense
The only legitimate use of force is in defense of individual rights — life, liberty, and justly acquired property — against aggression. This right inheres in the individual, who may agree to be aided by any other individual or group. We affirm the individual right recognized by the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. We oppose all laws at any level of government requiring registration of, or restricting, the ownership, manufacture, or transfer or sale of firearms or ammunition.
2.0 Economic liberty
WE want all members of society to have abundant opportunities to achieve economic success. A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.
2.1 Property and Contract
Property rights are entitled to the same protection as all other human rights. The owners of property have the full right to control, use, dispose of, or in any manner enjoy, their property without interference, until and unless the exercise of their control infringes the valid rights of others. We oppose all controls on wages, prices, rents, profits, production, and interest rates. We advocate the repeal of all laws banning or restricting the advertising of prices, products, or services. We oppose all violations of the right to private property, liberty of contract, and freedom of trade. The right to trade includes the right not to trade — for any reasons whatsoever. Where property, including land, has been taken from its rightful owners by the government or private action in violation of individual rights, we favor restitution to the rightful owners.
2.2 Environment
We support a clean and healthy environment and sensible use of our natural resources. Private landowners and conservation groups have a vested interest in maintaining natural resources. Pollution and misuse of resources cause damage to our ecosystem. Governments, unlike private businesses, are unaccountable for such damage done to our environment and have a terrible track record when it comes to environmental protection. Protecting the environment requires a clear definition and enforcement of individual rights in resources like land, water, air, and wildlife. Free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems. We realize that our planet’s climate is constantly changing, but environmental advocates and social pressure are the most effective means of changing public behavior.
2.3 Energy and Resources
While energy is needed to fuel a modern society, government should not be subsidizing any particular form of energy. We oppose all government control of energy pricing, allocation, and production.
2.4 Government Finance and Spending
All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legal requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors. Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We support the passage of a “Balanced Budget Amendment” to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes.
2.5 Money and Financial Markets
We favor free-market banking, with unrestricted competition among banks and depository institutions of all types. Individuals engaged in voluntary exchange should be free to use as money any mutually agreeable commodity or item. We support a halt to inflationary monetary policies and unconstitutional legal tender laws.
2.6 Monopolies and Corporations
We defend the right of individuals to form corporations, cooperatives and other types of companies based on voluntary association. We seek to divest government of all functions that can be provided by non-governmental organizations or private individuals. We oppose government subsidies to business, labor, or any other special interest. Industries should be governed by free markets.
2.7 Labor Markets
We support repeal of all laws which impede the ability of any person to find employment. We oppose government-fostered forced retirement. We support the right of free persons to associate or not associate in labor unions, and an employer should have the right to recognize or refuse to recognize a union. We oppose government interference in bargaining, such as compulsory arbitration or imposing an obligation to bargain.
2.8 Education
Education is best provided by the free market, achieving greater quality, accountability and efficiency with more diversity of choice. Recognizing that the education of children is a parental responsibility, we would restore authority to parents to determine the education of their children, without interference from government. Parents should have control of and responsibility for all funds expended for their children’s education.
2.9 Health Care
We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want (if any), the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions. People should be free to purchase health insurance across state lines.
2.10 Retirement and Income Security
Retirement planning is the responsibility of the individual, not government. The proper and most effective source of help for the poor is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals. We believe members of society will become more charitable and civil society will be strengthened as government reduces its activity in this realm.
3.0 Securing Liberty
The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself. The principle of non-initiation of force should guide the relationships between governments.
3.1 National Defense
We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.
3.2 Internal Security and Individual Rights
The defense of the country requires that we have adequate intelligence to detect and to counter threats to domestic security. This requirement must not take priority over maintaining the civil liberties of our citizens. The Constitution and Bill of Rights shall not be suspended even during time of war. Intelligence agencies that legitimately seek to preserve the security of the nation must be subject to oversight and transparency. We oppose the government’s use of secret classifications to keep from the public information that it should have, especially that which shows that the government has violated the law.
3.3 International Affairs
American foreign policy should seek an America at peace with the world. Our foreign policy should emphasize defense against attack from abroad and enhance the likelihood of peace by avoiding foreign entanglements. We would end the current U.S. government policy of foreign intervention, including military and economic aid. We recognize the right of all people to resist tyranny and defend themselves and their rights. We condemn the use of force, and especially the use of terrorism, against the innocent, regardless of whether such acts are committed by governments or by political or revolutionary groups.
3.4 Free Trade and Migration
We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a credible threat to security, health or property.
3.5 Rights and Discrimination We embrace the concept that all people are born with certain inherent rights. We reject the idea that a natural right can ever impose an obligation upon others to fulfill that “right.” We condemn bigotry as irrational and repugnant. Government should neither deny nor abridge any individual’s human right based upon sex, wealth, ethnicity, creed, age, national origin, personal habits, political preference or sexual orientation. Parents, or other guardians, have the right to raise their children according to their own standards and beliefs. This statement shall not be construed to condone child abuse or neglect.
3.6 Representative Government
We support election systems that are more representative of the electorate at the federal, state and local levels. As private voluntary groups, political parties should be allowed to establish their own rules for nomination procedures, primaries and conventions. We call for an end to any tax-financed subsidies to candidates or parties and the repeal of all laws which restrict voluntary financing of election campaigns. We oppose laws that effectively exclude alternative candidates and parties, deny ballot access, gerrymander districts, or deny the voters their right to consider all legitimate alternatives. We advocate initiative, referendum, recall and repeal when used as popular checks on government.
3.7 Self-Determination
Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of individual liberty, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to agree to such new governance as to them shall seem most likely to protect their liberty.
4.0 Omissions
Our silence about any other particular government law, regulation, ordinance, directive, edict, control, regulatory agency, activity, or machination should not be construed to imply approval.
The republican party’s massive shift to the right made a moderate candidate look like a phony.
Would a real patriot wait 4 hours to cast a vote? The tea party needs to get rid of the extremists in the movement. There is no acceptance for ideological extremists political or religious among sane americans!!!
You knuckleheads are peeing in the wind. The Rebublicans will continue to lose because of the Tea Party. So, “Go Tea Party, Go!”
Dumb. Just plain dumb. The Republican Party Civil War will be interesting to watch.
Twitt
Spoken like a true Progressive MORON.
We must face the fact that we were beaten and beaten badly. The Dems ground game was strong and they got out the vote in record numbers as a lot of conservatives sat home by the millions. If we do not make the needed changes, we will repeat the mistakes we made. Up here in North Central Pennsylvania we got out the vote in record numbers. My area was over 61% Romney and the Williamsport Tea Party area that I am a member of got close to 70%. We wasted all our resources in Philadelphia where we have 0 chance of winning, in fact brought out Obama supporters there in record numbers. No County around Philadelphia went for Romney. The problem all of the Tea Party efforts were directed in Philadelphia and all of our state coordinator live within a short drive of each other down there. Not getting the 121 local coordinators together to work on a strategy to win cost us any chance to beat Obama here. No local coordinator meetings and very little if any help for the true grass root groups in the other areas. When you have 121 groups and have only 7 or so that get on our coordinators calls, shows weakness. If we do not change our strategy, we have no path to victory.
What? This is exactly the flawed reasoning that got you to the place you are in now. And your answer is to keep believing it? It is not the candidate, it is your ideas that are and where soundly and completely rejected, and will continue to be rejected. The white privilege is over, it’s been over since 1969 and you all think its just the same, even when you get your butt kicked you blame it on the candidate. In 2016 both Arizona and Texas will be purple states, in 2020 they will be blue states, the tide has changed…we are multi cultural and if you don’t deal with that fact you will continue to lose national and state elections. Six tea party backed senators now and they have all lost. Hand picked by you and they have all lost…get it?
Your America just sent you a wake up call, the multi cultural America that we now are doesn’t really care for your ideas of exclusion. Kiss your white privilege good bye
Another Progressive bigot speaks! Yep, they really are “tolerant” and STUPID. The leftwing morons will ultimately lose.
I like the TEA Party and vote for those candidates that are affiliated with it. Being from South Carolina it does not make a lot of difference. I am represented by Jim Demint,Trey Gaudy.
Lindsey Graham has to go but if we try to replace him you will get a Dem in his place.
Not sure who would have been a better candidate. i did not like any of them from the beginning so we need to find someone and start running now!
Take them out in PRIMARIES!
IT DOES NOT MATTER if we like or not; we need people WHO love AMERICA. It would be nice if we knew who they are!!!
Our beloved United States of America is polarized to a degree, I believe, not experienced since the war between the states. I fear a lack of resolve by the people to preserve the fundamental precepts of the Bill of Rights and Constitution has placed us on the path of destruction. God save us from the tyranny to come in the second Obama White House. We have abdicated our freedom to a Socialist.
Rev Dean Greer,
I am so distraught by Obama’s victory! How could the deceit continue unchecked? What do we need to do to wake the millions of Americans up from their apparent slumber and apathy?
I fear for the future. For my children and generations to come. And we’re not even American; we’re Canadian. Obama is leading us all down the path to destruction.
God help us….
Rev. Yes I agree, but God works in mysterious ways. With the re-election of President Obama, very few people will go back to sleep and many more will awaken.
The States have sovereignty over the federal government, It is time to exercise State’s rights via nullification, Article V and sheriffs interposition. One important step is the National Debt Relief Amendment. an 18 word amendment to force the federal government to seek the majority approval of the individual states before raising the debt ceiling. SEE restoring freedom.org…..today 36 states are working on this already. It will take time, but no GOP candidate will ever reduce the size of government in the way it is needed. Instead they seek to merely cut entitlement programs, which only vacillates between parties.
there are so many tools we have in the States – blue or red….see the Forgotten Men, Dr Kevin Gutzman, and so many other out there….also Avalon Prject is a great free resource for online documents, such as the Constitution, and Federalist Papers…..library holds historical writings dating back to 4000BC
In relying to Jennifer’s comment the last four years was not a good enough wake-up call for the majority of voters to vote Obama out of office. They will experience what socialism does just like what Europe is facing. After taxing the rich for all it can, after driving businesses away, the government will start taxing the middle class and even print even more money which will only drive up inflation and therefore prices for consumer items will also go up. They cant tax the people who does not pay taxes. More people will be on the government dole for any handouts, crumbs the government hands out to the masses. More dependents means less money will to go to each person/family. Not to mentioned the over-regulation on energy and Obamacare will have an even bigger burden on our country.
Eventually, the government will run out of OUR MONEY!!! I feel that we will see violence like we see in Greece because the government will have to cut back on entitlements because there is not enough taxes coming in. But I hope also before it gets that far, more people than not will see Obama and socialism REALLY does not work and will move away from it.
Unfortunately, the people who did not vote for Obama and his minion because they see the danger that is in store for us, will suffer right along with the voters who voted for Obama.
The reelection of Obama is a very sad day for our country. He continually bypasses the Constitution by misusing the power of the Presidential “Executive Orders”, openly lies to our country by saying one thing and doing another, has blown the national debt up out of sight, and is transitioning our society into a form of Islamic Socialism that will result in more and more acts of terror within our country. Hey, way to go you short-sighted Liberals. I hope you enjoy what Obama’s regime is going to dish out to you in the next four years!
well said
I think you have said it all, he is going to make an army that will be paid, trained , and fight[ using our money] against US
The legal brown shirts are on the way.I think…
There are those on the far left who have used vile, despicable language regarding the Tea Party during this campaign. I pray that the Tea Party will face the future with a ROAR!
The problem with the Bill of Rights being taught is that no one teaches them in school anymore and parents don’t teach them at home. Everyone just follows the rest of the lead sheep and they are wolves in fine dressup.
Kudos ! Jill!
….And no one is taught anything about the Constitution today! Even in law schools, Constitutional Law is taught from the perspective of Supreme Court doctrine, and specific cases. The best book, written by the Founding Fathers that describes how the Constitution should be interpreted is the Federalist Papers. (free online at Avalon Project)
Until we learn about these two Documents, we will never realize that the solutions lie within the States via nullification, Article V, and Sheriff’s interposition. (see tenth amendment center, the Forgotten Men FB page and website….there are so many references out there……..DC will never fix DC….todays problems began over 100 years ago, as Reagan alluded to many times.
You are dreaming. They caused the party to lose the election!
Thanks!!!
My biggest doubt about our future now is – will Boener have the character to lead the Congress against Obama’s administration !
The Congress is our last firewall.
The republican Party has lost all credibility in my eyes…we choose the wrong candidate to fight obama. The house republicans will drop their pants for obama now since they fear him…it is shameful. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness means nothing anymore
Like Oboma, I really don’t think Boener has demonstrated any skills for the job. In my opinion Paul Ryan would be perfect for the speaker position.
I wanted to support the tea party candidate because I believe in the principals of the Tea Party. Well I did, but now with a post like this it tells me you are more interested in YOU than interested in supporting the best candidate. I will not support you or your cause anymore, I will remain a constitutional conservative Republican.
John b
You are absolutely RIGHT!
I believe in the Tea Party, but moronic statements like these from its leaders will only serve to marginalize this movement and does more damage to it than all the drumbeat of marginalization that has been foisted upon it by the like of Schumer, Pelosi and Reid.
Romney was not the problem, his message was all about spending and fiscal discipline.
The Tea Party would do well to embrace what Romney attempted, because in about a year everything that Romney, Ryan campaigned on and reflected in Tea Party principles will seem prescient.
Instead of the circular firing squad, Tea Party leaders would do well to direct the ire at the democrats in Congress and Barack Obama.
Romney and his supporters contributed and fought an intense battle to achieve the principles of fiscal discipline. To criticize the Romney/Ryan effort will only marginalize the Tea Party and play into the hands of the democrats and certainly I will not support such moronic statements.
We have leaders?
Are you serious? Mr. Romney made an excellent pick for his running mate in Paul Ryan, and they both campaigned very hard to win this election. They both are good men who did what they thought would win. What did you do, have this statement lying in wait for a defeat? Perhaps you are the one who didn’t work hard enough.
Elections come and go, you win them and you lose them. That’s politics.
I will be sure to avoid your organization in the future.
Tea-baggers, I like how you all talk about freedom….when what you really mean is freedom for a few.
Your language shows your level of intelligence, enough said.
Why are you commenting? It amazes me that the states that really lost this race for Romney are categorically the ones who believe in the government paying for everything and ARE BROKE. I am not saying everyone in the state but the ones who have been taught to expect the government to take care of them.
I think you ought to consider which states are net “givers” and “receivers” of Federal taxes
Top 5 Givers (Pay more in Federal taxes than they receive):
1) Delaware
2) Minnesota
3) New Jersey
4) Connecticut
5) New York
6) Illinois
Top 5 Takes (Receive more in Federal taxes than they pay):
1) Alaska
2) New Mexico
3) Mississippi
4) Virginia
5) West Virginia
6) Alabama
I hope this makes you consider which states really have a horse in the race, and still vote to raise their own taxes, while supporting several red states.
*This info is easily found when you search any search engine
Nice try Spencer. Delaware. Hmmm wonder why. Your assumption is the poor people ph Delaware pay the taxes, when its corp profits taxed. After reflection on the election I’m convinced the tea party didn’t show up. I did not vote for mccain or romney. When economic tanks you guys will still blame bush and repubs. Look at what u did to moderate mitt. He killed a women giving here cancer. Repubs keep nominating moderates a lose a send paint them add the devil. I think its over for republican moderates and conservatives will take over. Then you will harve something to really complain about.
FoxNews, Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh say different. We don’t look at facts here on this website. Everything is based on our perception and emotion.
The left believes in choice only for women, I am pro-choice in healthcare, schools, guns, etc. By not having the government dictate what each of us can do or aspire too allows for more freedom. Not sure you know what freedom or liberty mean.
Well tah was a kick in the backside…
We have two years of harry ried to fight on every turn, no budgets for 2013/2014 and another 2+Trillion dollars to pay back. Ya, a kick in the gut.
If we can not get control of the Senate with people that we want then I am afraid that the game is over for the the experiment started over 200 years ago.
Thanks for letting me vent, tomorrow will be a new day, as long as I can get out of bed and see my Grand Daughters it will be a good day.
Off to see if I can find a way to sell more of my products on my web site, the more I sell the more money I will have to contribute to these causes…
I’m done. No more politicking for me. This country got what it deserves.
Unfortunately, we all get what this country deserves. This is not the time to give up, it’s time to dig in for the long haul.
Hey Vicky.
Please don’t give up. I just joined. Hopefully there are tons more to come. Back up troops, if you will? Get some R and R and come on back.
We may as well admit that we are now a minority in this country. Game over. House as a firewall? Christ, they will fold like a lawn chair, and legalized 20 million illegals. Breyer, Ginsburg, and Kennedy will be replaced with the likes of Sotomayor and Kagan, finishing off the constitution. It’s over. Better to die free than live a slave. I am literally weeping for my daughters.
T Case, at least there is a small silver lining. You may be weeping for your daughters now, but if it turns out that one or both of them would like to marry another woman someday, or if one of them wants an abortion, they will be better off under Obama and who he adds to the Supreme Court. It doesn’t matter if the GOP picks moderates or die-hard, principled Tea Party patriots who care to death about this great country: as long as fiscal conservatism and economic freedom get mixed with a restriction of personal/social freedom, their fiscal message will be lost, the demographics will be against them (hello Texas, future swing state!), and you are right about being in the minority….
Are you serious? A silver lining?
I suppose it depends on what type of freedom you value. Understand that I am of a very libertarian mind; I’m not worried about who my daughters marry, and I think I have taught them to think pretty deeply about ethical matters, such as abortion (or lying, stealing, or adultery, for that matter).
My concern is that an apparent majority of votes can be bought with a promise of subsistence and consequenceless sex. You seem to think that advocating economic freedom coupled with moral curbs is unrealistic, while the statists successfully create a culture of dependence and serfdom with the promise of free bread and contraception. Which freedom is more important?
As to demograhpics, you know the federal government is not securing the borders; how long can a welfare state exist with open borders? Do you think that illegals come to the US because of our fiscal policies? Go to an emergency room on a Sunday or Monday night; ask yourself why food stamp applications are available in Spanish.
My lament is that a republic is voting itself into oblivion, and my daughters will not receive the economic and political culture I did.
I’m with you. Cried all day. It IS interesting what is critical to the young voters. They seem very concerned about their right to abort pregnancies and to marry whomever. Many are jobless or make little and instead of wanting to promote themselves to gain employment or make more money, they buy into the Robin Hood mentality. Being the Libertarian that I am, I really don’t care about the social issues. Let them! But the entitlement that is felt by the young folks is shocking. How easy it was for the Democratic Party to play into that and convince the voters that they needed Obama. I just joined and I’m ready to do what I can!
Texas will only be a swing state after all the people from the BROKE socialist states move here. It does amazes me that the liberal, social thinking yahoos who can’t find jobs because of their allowing the government to regulate businesses out of business and expect their government do everything for them in their states want to move to states like Texas for jobs but expect to have all the give mes. Well this Texans says stay home fix the mess you created. As far as the
They moved to our county (Nevada) and turned a conservative county into a liberal one. So watch out
Oh dear. Google which states pay more Federal taxes than they receive, and which ones receive more than they pay. It will flip your world upside down when you realize who really causes deficits, by taking more than they pay.
I’ll tell you another damn thing: Limbaugh and Hannity can kiss my ass for all the feel good smoke they blew in my eyes these last few weeks. God help me, but I’m going to work and pray for a total collapse of this country, and try to build something new before I die.
Well, I for one, am extremely unhappy with the stupid Philly Tea Party endorsement of Tom Smith. I had to vote for a lifelong Democrat “turned” Tea Party and lost to the rat Casey anyway. I’d appreciate if the tea party didn’t stick their labels on people who are nothing more than Arlan Spectors in disguise.
I can’t imagine what it might take to return to the old America at this point. Still, I’ll keep doing what I can.
Right now I have to save my business. I own a Dance studio. We are down students.
Today we found out our dance supply store is closing. I just bought $5000.00 of there
the stock at 40% off to keep my students supplied with shoes and tights. Thinking that
Romney had to win. Now I’ve got to make it to June recital without signing a new lease.
This stinks. I tired. Buzzy
My family & I probably won’t be able to save our business. We have been in business 30 years. I hate it for our employees and vendors.
Dear Buzzy. I don’t support the Tea Party and its doctrine. But i wish you the very best and hope that your Studio makes it.
what is there to say Another one for the GOP establishment.
I’m of the opinion that it’s time for political jujitsu…sign up for every government subsidy you can, and tell the House to go along with anything the democrats want. .. . flush this country straight down the toilet, and see what we can rebuild in the aftermath.
Booing is boring, propose a more interesting alternative.
I’m not “booing”, whatever it is you mean by that. I’m suggesting that we accelerate a process that we cannot stop, so that it’s logical conclusion will be seen. Think of it as letting your kid touch the burner or smoke a cigar….
An “Atlas Shrugged” movement
Yes. Whomever finds John Galt first, please tell him I’m ready! But in all seriousness, I completely understand where you are coming from. Are you up for one more try?
Tour a good example of why the GOP failed. You disgust me with the thinking to “flush this country straight down the toilet” You are not an American Patriot! Your a whining redneck who didn’t get his way. I hope there is a special place in hell for you.
I am a “whining redneck”, who holds three college degrees, one from a University to which you could not have matriculated, much less graduated from. As for patriotism, I stood in the Fulda gap facing the Soviets, probably before you were born. Statistically speaking, I am more intelligent, educated, and traveled than 98% of the general population, so that probably includes you.
If you had read and comprehended my post, you would see that I was suggesting a particular course of action, not whining.
Finally, I may well wind up in hell, if I fall from the grace that saved me; mind I don’t see you there.
I just received Jenny Beth’s comments in my Inbox. Must admit, it was a SORELY needed bit of hope in this mire of Socialism that was re-enforced tonight.
When Newt Gingrich TRIED to tell Republicans that EVERY time they try to run as ‘Moderates’ they LOSE … the Establishment boo-hooed him as a grumpy extremist. When Rick Santorum TRIED to tell Republicans that VALUES MATTER … the Establishment railed that he was waaaay out in right field.
So, we selected Mitt Romney as our nominee. Now – don’t get me wrong – this is a fine, decent man, and I truly believe he would have tried to set us on a much better course. BUT, he is still a Moderate – and far TOO nice to fight the evil that is pervading our country (how MANY of us were SCREAMING thru that last debate as he deferred any further mention of the Libya atrocity???). And I ONCE AGAIN held my nose to vote because the guy I REALLY wanted wasn’t even in the running (that would be Allen West).
Wellll … now you can bring back that Time Magazine cover, because I fear we really HAVE become a socialist nation. And one that denied God three times over, to boot.
I’m too tired and shell-shocked that our great land has come to this for me to ponder beyond tonite. I may print out Ms. Martin’s bold statements and plaster them on my fridge to remind me that there are STILL folks willing to fight the good fight – and I MUST be in step with them. But, for tonite … I’m just going to swallow this bitter pill and dream of the America that WAS.
Let’s just hope Boener has the stamina to stand up to the BUM. I think we need a Revolution. I’m a senior citizen and on a limited income and cannot donate money, but I sure can help fight for the cause and sign petition after petition to fight as hard as we need to to take our country back.
Joan … you just about made my day! You may not have cold hard cash in this fight, but you have a BIG WARM HEART!!! And that is something the Left cannot even BEGIN to comprehend!!! God Bless You … It’s Senior Citizens like YOU that keep America going strong!
GOP is increasing in age and decreasing in numbers.
The depth and breadth of GOP approval suggests slow demographic death.
To increase the depth of age into younger voters — the GOP needs to appeal to younger voters. This means toning down the war on gays and the war on drugs. Young voters will never buy into this.
To increase the breath of diversity across the socioeconomically diverse electorate — the GOP needs to boost the message of personal responsibility and limited government that necessitates freedom of other religions and viewpoints.
Therefore, to increase the depth and breath of support, the GOP will have no choice but to back-burner church state integration — reproductive rights, marriage rights, creationism — in exchange for true libertarian values. Being a true libertarian requires you allow other people to do things you aren’t comfortable with.
The GOP will be dismantled before it is rebuilt. Bigger tent is possible with compassion.
Forgot to add….we need to actively look to impeach Obuma for the Benghazi incident and the deaths of our four Americans and also to bring forth the coverup on the Fast and Furious incident that he has tried to skate around. As soon as we bring him to his knees, the better. Voices and louder voices than his can do it.
Right on Joan! Obuma should be impeached and thrown out of office. He took an oath to uphold the constitution and has continually tore it down. Gun control, Obuma care, and illegal immigration and not prosecuting people breaking immigration laws are all contrary to the constitution. We do not need a supreme court to twist the constitution either, just tell them to READ the constitution and uphold it. Too many people have lost their lives over the immigration and border incidences and Obama just turns away from these incidences as unimportant. I am also a senior citizen and lets show the elite people we still have more fight left in us than the elite ever had. It is time for all good citizens to unite and pull together and not to jump ship as some shallow minded people have done and left the Tea Party. Keep the petitions coming and also sign petitions from other constitutional organizations.
Gene, I hate to break it to you, but the constitution doesn’t even mention universal health care, or immigration. Barack Obama actually SUPPORTS your 2nd amendment rights.
If you’re all gung-ho constitution, READ IT PLEASE before your influence other people who haven’t read it.
Read the ninth and tenth ammendments to the constitution, before you write.
Spoken like a true Patriot, Gene: the guy I didn’t vote for won, so he’s a traitor and we must impeach him.
Yes lets impeach him,
the hell with what people vote for, its not what you wanted.
Lets start impeachment proceedings, make a sign and find the nearest news camera.
Jon:
“… the hell with what people vote for, its not what you wanted…”
This is coming from an alledged “Patriot”!!! And you wonder why the TP is viewed as extremist and out of touch!!
Well, Joan, so much for sticking to the “persuasive, earnest, yet not overly inflammatory speech” suggested by “reader” above. Come on, life’s too short be so bitter… “take our country back?” Take it back from whom? From the 50% of Americans who voted two times now for Obama? From the 60% of younger folks who voted for him? From the 70% of women or Latinos who might have voted from him? These are some tough demographics to overcome–but a civil tone might be as important to being heard as signing “petition after petition.”
I agree Ed and we need to start with education. We need to take our schools back and monitor even more closely what they are teaching our children from K through 12 and beyond.
There is no country to take back. It’s gone. The only solution is to promote the collapse of this government so a new republic can be founded.
This is the kind of fatalism from Tea Party rank and file that alienates others. Instead of recognizing that the world is moving right along, the government is still standing and most folks ARE working and living – many Tea Party members equate loss to the biblical end times. Well, it’s not. In future elections, perhaps toning down this ‘Armageddon’ talk might be helpful in convincing voters to listen to discussion about principles and ethics, instead of immediately dismissing you as fanatics. Seriously, it’s harming the party and candidates in places the GOP needs to reach to win back the presidency.
First you’ll need to change the “Tea Party Patriots” name to “Tea Party Traitors”
As we deal with our severe disappointment in the wake of the seemingly pre-ordained failure of a man running as a Morman Elder seeking the office of CEO-in-Chief, the Tea Party must admit its naivite in its promotion of pathetically inept Senatorial candidates. Politics is a game won by those who play it on its own terms best. Please don’t ruin our chances in the Senate again with retched candidates like Todd Akin, Christine O’Donnell, Ken Buck, Sharon Angle or Mourdock. The refusal of Tea Partiers to accept half a loaf resulted in Sotomayor and Kagan being confirmed in a senate which would have been Republican but for your efforts. In this election the Republicans had a great opportunity to take back the Senate which you damaged severely. Obama will now have clear sailing to nominate one or even two more justices. These will be your justices, enabled by your stupidity. When this happens, America will be dead. Thanks, jerks.
Yes Greg…because MODERATE GOP candidates are never inept and never lose…right?
Greg,
Sure the Senate Teapaarty candidates that were put forward lost. The electorate had to reject them to keep any sense of dignity in politics. Extreme, rigid beliefs that only serve a certain segment of the population get easily recognized for what they are: intolerance. The Akin loss is very interesting…a significant portion of the Romney vote crossed party lines and voted for McKaskill.but they weren’t really voting for her; they were voting against the Tea Party. While upset with the Tea Party you should be proud of your state’s electorate.
But why place the blame on the Tea Party for these candidates? What happened to the more traditional or moderate Republicans in your primaries is like what happened to the Democrats in the House midterm elections, It was your own party leadership that cultivated and placed these extremists in power in 2019. They saw it as a short cut back to power. Well they never thought that these extremists would overwhelm the leadership, which they did and have. You real what you sew.
I would suggest that you and fellow moderstes either stand up to them and stare them down or switch to independent status. Tell the congressiial leaders to continue to fight for conservative principles but put an end to the use if ridiculous arguments falsifaction of facts, ignorance of scence. That wilkful ignorance is what the rest of us rejected today. We learned nit to sleep at wheel in 2010. Please bring back the Republican Party that worked for solutions.
Good luck!
After the RHINOS abandoned Akin in my home state and actually provided talking points for Claire’s attack ads (she literally did not have to do a thing, the RHINO party did it for her), i say this is the time for all true Conservatives to stand up and begin ridding ourselves of these lifelong politicians who do not represent our Party or our values. At the same time, the Tea Party has got to start properly vetting candidates because we are doing one hell of a lousy job of it. If they have a D after their name, they cannot be endorsed by the Tea Party – PERIOD. If there is no viable Republican Conservative candidate, we do not endorse anyone. If we are to stand on our own, we must be able to make the tough decisions and stand by them. We must strive to be the endorsement standard of true Conservatives and not the current RNC RHINOS!
RINO* It means “Republican In Name Only”. Rhinos have horns, four legs, and not the slightest bit interest in politics.
BS. Anyone who caved into this establishment loser of a candidate, is guilty. I got sick of the establishment party shoving their candidates down my throat and joined the Constitution Party. The GOP must be destroyed and replaced. Tonight was the beginning. I just hope everyone who joined hands with Romney remembers they are the culprit. Romney was our John Kerry. He was a lying liar. 2016 will see a Chris Christie moderate or another Romney unless GOP followers leave the GOP in droves. Sorry, but my candidate, Virgil Goode, lost but at least he stood up against the worthless GOP, Socialism and Romney enablers!
The Tea Party slept with the enemy and still lost. you should have supported Ron Paul to the bitter end. Your mistake cost you support. your nothing but political prostitutes. I am done with you.
While I am no Paul supporter (I went with Virgil Goode) you are absolutely correct in your assessment of the Tea Party. They sold their souls to Romney and want us to keep buying their bs. No thanks. Not one more penny will I give to this group.
The GOP is done! We need a new political party and it’s the Tea Party.
Well put. The fight continues, despite Obama winning tonight. Victory in 2016.
I can’t believe how you are already talking out of both sides of you mouth. I had such high hopes for the Tea Party. You have just dashed all hopes for the future with the rhetoric on this page. The only candidate you supported that will make a difference is Ted Cruz from Texas. You served a great purpose in 2010 but have failed miserably since then. I am afraid your days are numbered…….You supported and promoted Romney, now are vilifying him What’s wrong with you people?
It will be interesting to see if this post actually shows up (I have my doubts). You folks as a group have two very strong qualities: undying passion AND painfully obvious ignorance. I admire the passion you have for your beliefs and the willingness to carry your cause to the very end. But step back and take a look at where you are in the political spectrum, how the vote broke today, and the emerging population trends.
First, there is no one to the right of you, so achieving electoral values requires you pull people from left of you. For two years you managed to hold the Republican moderates hostage, threatening to primary anyone not coming on board. Well you are now 0 for 5 on Tea Party replacements of moderate sittung or retiring moderate Republicans. Just today you lost Akin, McMahon, and Mourdock. Brown fell while running from you as fast as he could. Thompson lost in Wisconsin because he couldn’t separate himself far enough from the threat you represent. Two of your congressional superstars were defeated: Walsh and West. The moderates in the GOP no longer will feel threatened by the being primaried threat because your candidates don’t win. In the end, the party will go with what works.
You have no chance to attract anyone left of moderate Republicans. You may think you can wake up the independents, but that is not how the voting broke today, so the numbers aren’t there. Your turnout was the same, so today does,t represent any apathy in your ranks…which also neutralizes your argument in this post that it was Romney, not the idesls that lost. Wrong you are: it was both. Plus…
A new electorate showed up today, younger, more female, more Hispanic–none of which your turn-back-200 years of political discourse and compromise thinking appeal to.
Your back is against the wall. No one to yoyr right to add. You face being primaried yourselves by a take-back-the-party-from-the-extremists movement in the part. Quite like what the Democrats did 20 years ago with Clintons centrist movement. A growing electorate that challenges your claim of being non-racially motivated that your fundamental policies do not connect to. To survive you will need to change some fundamental beliefs and attitudes do stay relevant, but that violates one of the strongest implicitly held beliefs “The your positions are 100% accurate and cannot be challenged.!
That belief in the end will be what marks you as a footnote in political history, sort of like the George Wallace of the 1968 campaign…showed up, stirred the pot, and then faded away (eventually realizinghow wrong he was and seeking absolution).
I have the epitaph for your headstone. Its from Vermont’s license plates: Live free; Or die.
Or learn that you might not have had all the answers but do have something to offer and approach the political discourse table for give and take.
Nah, I know that is tyranny to you.
The Republican party has been, and always will be, antiquated. Libertarianism is the answer. Period.
YeeeAhhhh
If you want to understand your enemy, read Rules for Radicals by Alinsky. Obama has it memorized. And if you think you can touch Obama, forget it. Chief Justice Holder will not allow it. We are on our way to Marxism, as was planned from the beginning of his “hope and change”. I am also an elder and a disabled vet. The enemy is not out there, he is most effective from within.
Hey guys, Im a Tea Partier like everyone here, but since Obama has now has a second term, shouldn’t we look to reach across the aisle to got “some” things accomplished? Some progress is better than none at all, we need to wake up!!!
No way. You’re way too rational to be Tea Party. Shouldn’t you be talking about revolution and taking back the country and rattling off a bunch of stuff Obama is doing that’s supposedly against the constitution?
If you’re literally Tea Party, congratulations, you are the most intelligent man I have seen on this website. You deserve an AWARD.
What is it that government needs to “accomplish”?
“Progress” towards what goal?
Greg, you have successfully demasked me. I am not a “Tea Partier” sometimes you must go behind enemy lines to properly strategize against it. I wanted to peer inside the sheltered bubble some of these,(and I mean this with no disrespect, really) idiots live within.
You as well deserve an award Greg for actually sounding like the only person on this site that has a soul.
Jenny Beth, keep up the great work!
It is telling that, instead of reaching across the aisle to work together with your opponents, you propose splintering off the Republican Party. Still, I wish you “grassroots” organizers all the luck in the world in that cause. After your spirited, racist conduct leading up to this and the 2008 election, anything you do that weakens your impact on society and further marginalizes your influence on politics is good for an America that values cooperation, tolerance and mutual respect. Good luck.
Honestly, I don’t understand comments people are making. This was a decisive defeat. A Waterloo. A catastrophe for the Tea Party movement. Tea Party “approved” Senators lost everywhere they stood for election against a Democratic opponent.
It comes down to this: a larger share of Americans don’t want what the Tea Party is selling than the share of Americans who do. That’s why you’re not winning. It has nothing to do with the “Establishment”. It is uncompromising, ideologically rigid candidates saying bizarre things and very fair minded Americans turning their back on them for it.
You want to win? Well there is not enough Tea Partiers to numerically force a win. The only way you win is if you get candidates who appeal to people who are not like you. In picking your next President or Senate Candidate, don’t pick someone who appeals just to you and your friends, but apolitical, flexible every day Americans who don’t read websites such as this or Tea Party blogs.
Do that, or prepare to keep losing. Simply put, you don’t have the numbers to win.
Your article is insightful and honest, which I respect. The Republican candidates, with the exception of Ron Paul and Rick Perry, were flawed. People were never comfortable with Romney, but couldn’t quite put their finger on why. However, we finally realized we were set up by the mainstream media. The MSM billed Romney as a flip flopper when anyone else would have been dubbed a liar. Santorum, a lobbyist, was similarly flawed. A lobbyist has never been voted president in the general election because lobbyists are perceived by the public to have a problem with veracity. Of course, Santorum set about proving his lack of veracity by attacking Ron Paul as a liar in a debate on national television, “bearing false witness” against Ron Paul right there in front of God and everybody. If it had been any candidate other than Ron Paul, the lying accusation might be believable, but Santorum attacked the known most honest politician in Washington. (A video clip of that incident will be in every politician’s library just in case Santorum ever decides to run again.) The incident with Ron Paul, plus Santorum’s lobbying efforts for the health care company that indulged in Medicaid fraud would bring a lot of grief. Plus, Santorum’s prolonging death stance makes him look like a weirdo. Thrice married Gingrich cannot win in the general election because the electorate does not go for divorced candidates, much less twice divorced and thrice married. Bachman was said to have given out movie tickets, in order to buy votes in Iowa prior to the Iowa Caucus. Had Bachman maintained her lead, if these allegations were true, she would have been ruined. It appears that some Republicans have the mistaken belief that winning the general election does not require clean candidates of good character, but I can guarantee that unless the flaws are still undiscovered on Nov. 6th., the candidate is unlikely to win the presidency. Democrats do revere the family, especially Hispanic, Hindu, and Muslim minorities, and we need candidates who at least qualify for crossover votes, whether or not their ideologies match up. Democrats also value good character, which seems to be contrary to at least some Republican opinion. Candidates who have other flaws are Jindal and the Cuban Senator from Florida. I cannot remember his name right now. Their parents were not U.S. citizens when they were born. Chris Christie needs to be required to take the presidential health exam prior to anyone in the Tea Party investing a cent in his presidential run. In my opinion, all of these candidates need to stay in their current Senate seats, or run for the Senate when their terms as Governors end, as the case may be. That is where they would be most valuable to the Tea Party. We need really strong Senators, and these people would be that, if they will do the job and there is an opening in their respective states. I would recommend the Tea Party jury candidates prior to allowing them on the Tea Party slate. After all, if someone cannot win in the general election there is no reason to have them on the slate. Further, Tea Party voters are mislead into believing that the candidates were juried by Tea Party Leaders, which is why they are on the slate in the first place. Tea Party voters moved wildly from candidate to candidate, selecting the flavor of the week because the candidates were flawed. Provide Tea Party members with a very clean strong slate, and there will be less waffling. A weak slate causes too much money to be wasted on under-qualified inferior candidates who cannot win in the general election. Donations need to be maximized and utilized efficiently to promote only the candidates with a possibility of winning in the general election. Tea Party members appear to be very easily lead, so provide them with the best quality candidates from which to select. Then we can select a winning candidate for the general election. My current recommendations for 2016 are Jim DeMint and Rand Paul. To my knowledge, both of these men have good character and are quality men, but they should be carefully researched to make sure that my assessment is correct. Good candidates can be shown up and shut out by candidates that lie and cheat. Let’s not let that happen again in 2016 as it did in 2012.
To: Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots
You do remember the primaries earlier this year and the fifteen or so debates leading up to them, right? During that process your candidates each had their shot and a share of the leader, while Romney didn’t ever lead until after all had taken the lead and then been exposed as unprepared or incompetent or out of touch or ignorant. Bachmann (all of the above), Cain (ditto), Trump (first three), Santorum (1 and 3), Perry (1 and 2), Gingrich (1 and 3). Christie wisely avoided the fray. As well as Bush. And. Daniels. And Huntsman. They sensed being involved with the party with your movement in the mix would be too toxic to survive.
Who else did or do you have to offer? If the GOP rejected your choices then you know the independents and Democrats would reject your candidate even more handily. The result would have been an even more humiliating loss. Remember this was an immensely winnable election, yet your side lost…in that sense it was a labdslide.
So if you find your uncompromising 100% pure Tea Party candidate, where are you going to get the voters you need to elect him or her? You are too small in numbers on your own, have no group to your right, and people running from you on the moderate side of your party’s and about 51% of us just laughing.
Maybe you could take this opportunity to reflect on your failures nationwide on Tuesday, not Romney’s. He tried to embrace you which is part of why he list.
Jack T. , You nailed it perfectly . I’ve had a sore spot for the TP even after co-founding ours because of the same things you mentioned . The folks need a new direction and I would love to see more input from the members to direct local chapters into investing differently . It’s obvious that what happened is a slap in the face to the TP so try something different . We have and it’s working .
Ever since Romney was “CHOSEN” I’ve predicted this defeat .
If only the TP’s followed the thoughts of the Founding Fathers our country would be in much better shape and on the road to recovery by now . They blew it and we blew it ! We led from behind .
Hi Deebar. Jack has indeed nailed it. But i’m afraid that the course you hint at will fail. Much of the rigid dogma that the TP subscribes to is frankly abhorrent to the majority of the populace. You may label them as liberals but the fact is that with every passing year, the 51% that Jack refered to will simply increase – maybe by just a single percent every year. I am not even American (but a keen watcher who truly believes that America should always remain the leader of the world) but i predict that in 8 years from now, the TP will disintegrate into disparate groups – each propagating a more strident doctrine than the other and will come to be treated by the majority of the public as more fringe than it is considered today. As an outsider, i have always wondered – isn’t it more sensible to have a calm, logical, measured, common-sensical ideology than a dramatic vitriolic one if one genuinely wants to effect a change in an advanced, educated country like America? Vitrol certainly works in the countries where education has not touched …. but in America? Strange …..
Mitt who?
Young People say NO to the teabaggers
Hispanics say NO to the teabaggers
Blacks say NO to the teabaggers
Gays say NO to the teabaggers
Women say NO to the teabaggers
America says NO to the teabaggers!!!
When you “progress” out of the pubescent stage of your sexual development, the source of your interest in “teabagging” and other forms of auto-gratification, you will realize that you created the miserable country in which you live. I’ll be dead. You’ll suffer.
If you say no to teabaggers then why are you on this website to begin with. And America did not say no to teabaggers; the candidate that came closest to our values did not lie enough, which in itself is a good thing.
Thank you Janalou. Well said.
If all those groups say no its because they do not understand us or what we are fighting for. Less slogans and more education would do you well Jimmy
You have to face facts. You lost. You lost big. You lost epically big. You were rejected. No one wants you. Voters were repulsed by the views of your candidates: Walsh, Akin, Mourdock et. al. Your ideas are formed in your little fishbowls of crazy. When candidates effectively use their opponent’s tea-party affiliation to attack them, you have to realize you are at the end of the plank before you fall into oblivion. You are now upon the dustheap of history.
You do realize that YOU are the reason Obama won? Why not go back to the OLD ideas that made the GOP something everyone, even city folk like me, could support?
Prudent foreign policy
Smaller government
Fiscal responsibility
Civil Rights
Smart and efficient government
This is the last nail in your coffin. Good bye tea party…
…WELCOME BACK EISENHOWER REPUBLICANISM!
Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc., etc., etc.
America says NO to the teabaggers!
Got Coffee?
I am so deeply sad and upset. We have to educate America, the liberals are taking over. Obama is a socialist demon….no doubt.
The American press is in bed with the socialists and are nothing more than the American version of Pravda. We need an our own mass media to take charge of the responsibilities of the press.
Socialist demon! I love it. Demonstrates the fairly tales that go on inside the fantasy land you call your mind.
God is already taking care of obama, look what happend in NY, NJ ect with the Sandy storm.
Then why did Obama win the election? We can’t have it both ways… Please don’t imply God’s will on such things. Using your logic – God wanted Obama to win because it happened.
Awsome post, tell all your friends and neighbors, coworkers too.
God is punishing us because we didnt follow your view of thinking.
Be sure to tell them your a true Tea Party member.
Dont suppress that crazy, let it flow.
When God sent a hurricane, He was casting his vote for Obama. God was giving the Republicans an indication when He sent a hurricane to delay the convention last August. He did that for the RNC in Minnesota in 2008 when Bush and Cheney evaded speaking. I think God likes Obama. And He loves the USA. I’ve been proud of my country many times in my 65 years and this is one of my proudest moments in my life. http://bit.ly/T95kfO
Obama a socialist? I wish!
If the constitution told you the Moon was made of cheese would you believe that too?
Tea Party marginalized themselves. Where was the Tea Party this year? You did great 2 years ago getting rallies out, getting people motivated, doing the Tea Party Express Bus tours.. etc – You were no where to be found this year. You margionalized yourself. Don’t blame Romney – you were NO WHERE TO BE FOUND.
First I must say I never post on the web. But after last nights election and reading post here I realized there are many folks out here with my same feelings. I own a small business with close To 100 employees. I am by no means rich, but have worked very hard to be comfortable. Last year 44 cent of every dollar took in by my business went to a tax in some form. I cannot continue like this. If I had not had so many taxes I could have hired 10 more people last year. I was not real happy with either Obama or Romney. I voted for Romney feeling he would do better with the economic environment we presently have. This is how I view things.
1. I vote but do not support either party with my heart.
2. We need forget about party affiliation in general an work together. The political party system is like professional wrestling. They try to put on a good show but behind closed doors are laughing at the public in general for mark ng them rich.
3. I read a study that 1 term in congress was worth over 5 million dollars to the person elected. This is way to much as a supposed public servant
4. We need to ban all lobbying hands down.
5. There needs to be term limits on every political office with a 2 term max.
6. We need to start recalling loans that the rest of the world owes us all the way back to WW2.
7. We need to be willing to compromise and become energy independent.
8. We need to true independent candidate that has a open mind and is willing to truly listen to the people.
9. As a nation we cannot continue on the path we are on. We need to bring real jobs back to our nation. Jobs where we really make something. Make it where companies want to be here in small town America.
10. I will end with 10. It is time to join together as a people with sound budgets, removal of earmarks, and compromise on programs. If we stop spending so much money to other countries for programs that do nothing but hurt Americans and apply it to our debt.
Let’s put away our difference work together like we all can. Get through the next 4 years and begin today to truly look for a independent candidate that can really work with both sides of the circuit that call themselves working for the people. I do not care if this person is black, white, yellow, red, green, or what. Just someone that will focus on America and remember the people he or she is working for.
This is just s few thoughts I have. I am sure not all will agree, but that is what makes this a great nation. We can all have our own thoughts. I hope you all have a great day.
No one is as disappointed in the outcome of this election surely than I. I have lived in S.C. all my life and last night I was proud that the majority of folks here wanted a different result than what we go. When we start to lose hope, we only get weaker as individuals.
My faith in God is the only thing that gets me through in these hard, disappointing times. I have to believe that God is still in control and for whatever reason the POTUS got re-elected is something we will have to accept and move on, but not in defeat! When we have God on our side, we can trust that He is working something out for our good. And yes, many don’t believe in God and do not think He has anything to do with anything. That is okay! I am still going to believe it. I’ve had many things in my own personal life that is far worse than losing an election. I am going to believe that God, in His infinite power and wisdom, has it all worked out.
I am not please with the outcome of this election, but I did all I knew to do to vote for the lesser of two evils. I am hoping the current administration will not prevail in lying to the American people about this Benghazi scandal that was not covered adequately by a liberal main street media. Hopefully, we still have a few good men or women, with a backbone and tenacity to see these are held accountable for letting our men die in the Embassy in Lybia. We know who they are and they know who they are, God will be their judge, but our country needs to hold them accountable.
I am one of those 23 million people that is not working and can’t find a decent job. I want to work, but even jobs are political now. My mother taught us from childhood that welfare was for those that couldn’t work, not those that won’t work!
I will continue to live my life and trust that God will handle this for me. I choose to be positive. Praying!
It is time for all the TEA Parties, Patroits, net, express, Grassfire Nation etc., to come togeather and form a true conservative party. The Republican Party should be allowed to go the way of the Wooblies and the Know Nothing Parties. It is time for a new begining away from the east coast Republican etablishment
As a registered Democrat I do have a conservative side and I do see the need for the Tea Party to move on. When the Tea Party first came into existence I supported your grassroots campaign. I do believe we need to protect our constitution. I believe in the right to bear arms, the right of free speech but I also believe in the separation of church and state.
Its very important that this party sticks to the grassroots beliefs that it was founded on and not partake in a witch hunt or fall to paranoia. This country has flourished by having two points of view and we are moving into an age where compromise is going to be the most important key to success in America. The voice of the conservative is very important to America but as we witnessed lat night its not the only voice. I beg you to please do not let the few bad apples tarnish the values of America as a whole. Good luck to you all.
We’ve lost the demographics. We’ve allowed too many legal immigrants to come here without helping them realize what made us so strong and so great. We allowed them to import their big-government, socialist ideas and that’s how they vote.
We’ve allowed black people to be brainwashed by the left that only big gov’t can save them from the evils of our founding ideals instead of making everyone realize that we value each person as an individual, regardless of race, color, religion, etc.
Nobody cares what conservatives believe anymore. We offer the truth and the opportunity to be treated as equals and adults, but our juvenile electorate just wants lies and free stuff.
Fools have been blaming immigrants for their woes since the beginning of this nation. Historically, they have always been wrong.
This election was about small ideas and aimed at small minded people. Blacks voted with their skin color, women voted with their reproductive parts, Hispanics voted with their belief that illegals from Mexico have a right to come here and stay without any due process, and on and on.
Conservatives, by nature, are logical and can think concepts through. That’s not true of liberals. We made the case for “B”, i.e. that we need a thriving economy and the creation of jobs. What we failed to do was show the American people that unless we allow entrepreneurs and “the rich” to take chances and to even fail (that is point “A”), that we will remain stagnant. Burdening and punishing business and successful people will only harm us. Liberals and most uninformed voters can’t put the pieces together for themselves.
Obama was tricky. He demagogued and purposely set up his new policies not to take effect until after this election. Once Dodd-Frank, ObamaCare, and other harmful provisions take their full effect and people realize how harmful Obama has actually been, it will be too late. Obama has enacted his revenge. He has transformed us from a thriving world power to a weakened socialist state like most European countries. The “haves” will continue to be robbed to pay the “have-nots” and those who don’t even try to provide for themselves.
In summation, we allowed a lack of articulation and confusion of our beliefs to turn our welfare safety net into a hammock.
This election reminded me of many Alexis de Tocqueville quotes:
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
“Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”
“It is indeed difficult to imagine how men who have entirely renounced the habit of managing their own affairs could be successful in choosing those who ought to lead them. It is impossible to believe that a liberal, energetic, and wise government can ever emerge from the ballots of a nation of servants.”
Be careful posting such negative qoutes, G. Ray: you may be accused of being unpatriotic.
Google which states pay more in Federal taxes than they receive, and which receive more than they pay. If not for most of the red states, the blue states would have a nice surplus!
Newt would’ve eaten BO for breakfast. He would have challenged him on ALL the issues, especially Benghazi, Fast & Furious and the BILLIONS of dollars thrown at make-believe, clean energy companies owned by his political backers/cronies. Newt would not have just let it be like the GOP candidate managed to do – - incredible that those golden opportunities were lost.
Its over and once again the GOP gave us a another lukewarm moderate progressive nominee that many of us had to hold our noses to vote for. Romney-care was bitter progressive pill for a lot us conservatives to swallow. I could not reconcile with that fact. My vote was more about voting against Obama’s tyranny ,divisiveness, socialism and his deconstruction of our Republic than for Romney.
Romney was no Tea Party Conservative but he was all the choice we were given by the establishment GOP and that’s got to change! The lame-stream biased media has been complicit with the leftist agenda and that’s got to change . We patriots must start supporting like minded media sources to get the truth out . If now is not the time to form a legitimate structured Tea Party Political Party when will ?
We must never give up the fight for our Republic. We can’t curl up in a ball and surrender. We must immediately pick up the ball and continue the fight for Fundamental Restoration. We must control the narrative. We start by better educating our children and the public about the founding principles and the Tea Party’s three pillars: Constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, and the free market. The next four years of the Obama regimes agenda and the coming Obamcare-tax is going to kill jobs and the economy!
Was Romney really “handpicked?” Yes, the Establishment wanted him from the get go. But I thought we looked at candidate after candidate, only to find them wanting. After all the so called Tea Party Favorites self destructed, only Romney was left.
Even when various Tea Party groups got what they wanted in the last two election cycles, those candidates, too, self destructed and lost winnable Senate seats–O’donnell, Akin, Mourdock.
I am at a loss how to secure better candidates..\
Baggers: Suck it and like it.
Uncle Walty: Are you the idiotic, drunken relative who always shows up for holiday dinners? Please stay home this time.
The TEA party groups have made a tactical mistake. You all concentrated on the beauty pagent for the White House and ignored the congressional races. My proof? Just look at the congress now. It hasn’t changed really at all. I believe we must forget about the white house and work on electing a veto proof, impeachment possible congress that will take control of the whole government. We sohould also concentrate on state constitutional changes to make the electoral college electors proportioned according to the election results. And we must fight for th erepeal of the 17th amendment.
A third party will not work. To turn things around it will have to be done through the Republican party.
That being said, there are two things that need to happen now. First, we have to change the way many of the state Republican parties choose their candidates. Many of them have built in votes by their ‘establishment’ people. That needs to end. Second, we have determine several viable candidates now that we feel certain will uphold and fight for our values and start building them up now. If a candidate is not already in the public eye and at least somewhat known by the time the election comes around then they don’t stand a chance.
You know what has happened is history whether it be good or bad in our eyes it is time for regular people to come together and choose a candidate within the next year or so. Put him or her out in front of people and start working toward real progress. This person needs to be a regular guy that can learn an grow in the process. Needs to have a team to help an guide and be willing to open up from the get go. Like if they have smoked pot in the past, if they have been late on taxes so what, etc, etc., etc., Sure it will the take money but there are a lot of people with money to help. This needs to be as it has never been done before. Form a steady plan and move forward. Target the areas that won the election for Obama this time begin there start progressing to every state listening not speaking.
I am a Vietnam veteran, retired law enforcement officer and author of “203 Reasons Not to Vote for Barack Obama.” I am also a long time participant and supporter of the Tea Party.
This morning I read the Tea Party article saying that we lost the election because the Republican Party foisted on us “a weak moderate candidate, hand-picked by the Beltway elites and country-club establishment wing of the Republican Party.”
I am deeply disappointed in the Tea Party for making such a statement. First, I am thoroughly convinced that Romney is an honorable man with a long record of service to others. I also think that he worked tirelessly to make a difference and nearly did it. It would be more reasonable to say that we lost this election because of fragmentation in the Republican Party and constant sniping by Republicans against other Republicans. Sometimes, we don’t even need the help of Democrats to shoot ourselves in the foot.
We were not helped by Chris Christie, a Governor who first made himself the focal point at the RNC and then made Obama the favorable focal point during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
We were not helped by a failure to tenaciously pursue answers on Benghazi and the death of four Americans, or “Fast and Furious” and the death of a Border Patrol agent, or to aggressively educate and inform the public in clear terms about how the national debt manifests itself in the personal budgets of American families. We are not helped by letting people forget about a Black Panther “Dead or Alive” poster, or of the divisive and often racist language used by Obama in his own book. We are not helped by the failure to confront the barrage of lies and deceit coming from this Administration. I’m sure this is politically incorrect, but while we examine the Catholic vote, the Evangelical vote, etc., – while we call Romney’s background “Strange” as one of your readers did, I hear nobody examining the Muslim demographic and how they voted in the election. We were certainly not helped by the absolute silence on Obama’s promise that he would have more flexibility after the election. Flexibility to do what? Did anybody care?
Look at the celebration last night at Obama HQ in Chicago. Look at middle-class people dancing and laughing as they are about to have their personal finances destroyed by inflation, further job loss, government growth; a healthcare program that will cost jobs, reduce services to the elderly and perhaps kill people. Look at what amounts to pure hate and divisiveness coming from our Executive branch. Look at the absolute collapse of credible journalism in our country.
All of these things and many more are to blame for our loss in yesterday’s election. As we begin to address these issues; hopefully, to seek impeachment for Obama’s Benghazi failure; and start building a solid case for 2016 that will not allow a Biden, Clinton, or any Democrat victory – as we start to do these things – I ask you to lead the Tea Party to applaud and honor, rather than denigrate and marginalize the sincere, patriotic efforts of people like Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
That would be the Tea Party in which I believe.
Wasn’t Paul Ryan on the ticket?
well, i guess we need a new strategy. two suggestions…reform the republican party or advance a new constitution party. education, i think, will absolutely be a necessary tactic. we can also chip away at the senate. individuals can also help by voicing your views on the state of our country one on one with other individuals. i noticed years ago that one of the first things the progressives attacked and changed was the concept of shame (a form of peer pressure). when i use this word in public i get some interesting results. try it. i believe we need to use peer pressure to advance our agenda. just sayin’.
I would love to sign up. But are there ANY socially liberal tea party candidates?
We exist, but our voices calling out for smaller government, less taxes, more support for buisiness are being drowned out.
What the media is showing is the nut cases, the bengazi conspiracy, the fake birth certificate conspiracy and all the rest of the nonsense.
The islamist believe the government should be beholden to the koran.
And the american talibans believe there should be absolutely no seperation of church and state.
The crazys make great news, and the rest of us get painted with the same brush.
I might as well surrender my 2nd amendment rights now, if this is the path the conservative movement is heading down.
In California Democrates controll everything, and this is the future of the country, Texas, Georgia and Arizona will be a purple states in the next few election cycles before turning blue.
Dont alienate people with this Michelle Bachmann batshit, or we will all lose.
As a contributing member of the Tea Party Patriots, I can say that Jenny Beth Martin’s statement was a disgrace and the message of a fool. Sure, I gave money and support to Christine O’Donnell and Sharon Angle. And I was pleased when Richard Mourdock beat out Richard Lugar and Todd Akin won the Missouri primary. But let’s get real here. O’Donnell and Angle cost us two senate seats and thus gave us the Affordable Care Act, while Akin and Mourdock re-invigorated the “women’s issues” criticisms that Mitt had laid to rest. Thanks a lot!
And unless each state awards its electoral votes only to a candidate who receives a majority of the ballots cast (i.e., a runoff if required), a Tea Party third party presidential candidate will only assure the election of a Democrat. Mitt was the most qualified candidate I have seen in my 45 years of presidential politics, and I remain proud that he was our candidate and stunned that such a model of everything that is right about America was rejected by the voters, however narrowly.
We are for now stuck in a two party system. It seems to me that there are two possible paths to returning to constitutional government. Recapture the republican one from the
“Akin style” fundmentalist zealots OR create a new “Constitutional Party.” Neither course would be easy.
Ross Perot (sp) tried for a new party but failed. He had the required money, but appeared to many to be on a quest for immediate personal glory. He wasn’t prepared to patiently build an organization, a long term task. Then AND now!
Recapture of the republican party would also be a long road, starting with many people getting active in their local republican organizations and over time moving them slowly toward constitutionalism. Tea Partyers could perhaps do this OVER TIME. Unless a financial angel miraqulesly appears this is the only course I see.
I think we were a bit naive to think we could be effective so quickly. Whatever is attempted will have to be a long term slog, with many disappointments before succeding. I salute
JENNY BETH for her effort and hope she doesn’t give up.
In Texas we did get Senator-elect Cruz on the ballot in spite of strong opposition during the primery from the Republican “bosses”. But Mr. Cruz had a great resume and history. It can be done with good candidates!!
But even good office holders must be term limited.
And budgets must be balanced.
I’m over 80 years old, and don’t expect to see much improvement, but please, iif you are a real Constitutionalist, don’t give up!!
I was with the Tea Party Patriots for a while… But the support for Mitt Romney was too much for me to take.. So I left. I was bashed, criticized and called childish names because I wouldn’t support Romney…
So I don’t know where the author of this get his info, but it’s not accurate.
The real reason the Repubs lost is because they have embraced the hate-mongering of the traitorous, constitution-hating Tea Party zealots. Ask West, Murdoch, Akin, et al where their insane, inane rhetoric got them.
Can a Tea Party candidate be fiscally conservative but socially progressive in your movement? It seems not.
Thank you for dragging Mitt Romney so far right he was unelectable. Obama could not have won in this environment without you.
Thanks TPs––it was always vital to expose the true Romney agenda. Your contribution to President Obama’s victory is truly appreciated.
Romney lost because he is a moderate, trying to play to the middle, and call himself a conservative at the same time. It’s time to rid ourselves of the Republican Party. Forget about taking it over like the progressives did in the Democrat Party. If we are to lose every election, I would rather lose without having to compromise our principles.
However, if we are able to leave them behind, and are able to relate our platform, contrasting it with the current administration, the only reason we could lose is what I saw yesterday.
Half the voting citizens in this country don’t care about the invisible debt ceiling, heroes left to die in Libya, or how much the cost of everything is going to skyrocket. I saw the dollar lose value today. I saw the DOW take a nosedive. Unfortunately, I knew that would happen, but the millions who voted for Obama are oblivious. They STILL blame Bush for the economy. Nothing sticks to Obama because they all think he’s going to rob from the rich and give to the poor. Nope, he’s going to rob from the rich and give to his biggest campaign donors.
It really is disturbing how many people in the not so United States fell for the line of crap from the guy with no record to run on. He is the first president ever re-elected with unemployment above 7.2%. Real unemployment is around 17% last i checked. That will be 25% by this time next year. Business owners do not have the fortitude to stay in business in the face of Obamacare, more regulation, and higher taxes.
Elections have consequences. Sadly, this batch of consequences may well be the end of the Republic.
I had the same idea as a guy that wrote Rush. Let’s flip a coin. The people who voted for Obama can take half the country, and the rest of us will take the other half. Then we build a fence and eventually a wall. Within weeks, people from Obama’s side would be digging tunnels to try to get to our side, because they would have nobody to pay for all their social programs. The ones who decide to stick it out and try to make it work, would eventually all die off, and since they believe in abortion and gay marriage, they wouldn’t have any children for all their union teachers’ schools. In fact the only children they would have, would be from all the illegal immigrants they give amnesty to. Of course, after a few months, the illegals would realize where the honey pot is, and they’d be digging tunnels to get to our side too.
Face it, liberals, without conservatives paying the bills, you would all be destitute.
The loss this year has only tempered our resolve, and we WILL see that America returns to the great nation it once was before your fake messiah, along with his pals in the Senate and House, got their grubby hands on the steering wheel. Whatever the cost. This is when true patriots stand tall and proud. This is when we say, “that’s enough”. this is when we say, “no more”. “Not in my America.”
Please feel free to reply with your snooty remarks. I have already started ignoring you.
It’s pretty sad when you think being on welfare is some nirvana. Like its the best way to live. I’ve got news for you. The welfare queen does not exist. Stop blaming the poor and start blaming the corporations that pay no taxes at all and put the burden on you.
Why would you support these corporations that are putting the small businesses man out of business. By supporting small business your supporting community. Large corporations do not. Stop trying to blame the poor
Seeing how the debt just keeps increasing in this country under president obama makes me feel weary of the future, and what it has in store for us. As I am graduating college next year, I want to know I have a promising future. Unfortunately, with the current state this country is in, that will probably not be happening for a long time. As the DOW plummeted today, i can only hope for better days .I support the tea party in restoring our future!
I just joined this site and I may not have searched well enough but I do not see much discussion about the debt ceiling “crisis.” It appears the debt ceiling may be raised without much fanfare (again).
What are our chances of preventing another rise in the debt ceiling without requiring real cuts in government spending?
I agree with all of their statement (except the following) and will fight on.
However, an organization such as this who are leaders lowered themselves by their words against Gov Romney. The leadership has demeaned itself with this.
They are merely human (and I am sure beyond exhausted from their grassroots work), but the attack was unnecessary to the message of encouragement that (I think) they meant to give.
Dear friends,
America is one country. It is time to understand that we cannot be part of the solution when we are part of the problem. We can hold our values true while learning to work with others. A majority of the country believes the Tea Party is made up of extremists who care only about their narrow point of view and would prefer to see the country go up in flames before any compromise. For example, the last President to have a surplus budget was Clinton. Do we celebrate his accomplishment? Why not? Are we that bigoted that we cannot acknowledge the accomplishments of a fellow American that delivered on a principle we believe in? Reagan believed deficit spending was good for the economy. This is a time of reflection, and a time to return to princples and the virtues of understanding and humility.
After reading through this morning I see many various thoughts. Folks are ready to get on the move to make things happen. I noticed that a number of people see that there needs to be a 3 rd party. Well yes because truly there is no difference between the two that exist now. As far as money when looking a t stats with less than 2.5% of people that voted in the presidential election donating $200.00 each to a 3rd party put together correctly would raise $500 million dollars. This is what the campaigns raised for election this past cycle. With people working together and building from ground up the new revolution could begin. We can take back the country in the right way through the political system that is now setup. Yes Ross Perot could have made a difference he was reminded how much money he made from Government contracts. That is why he pulled back.
Establishment candidate, I thought Romney won the Republican Primary by getting the most votes!!!
I’m sick of having to band together with this “Republican Party” that doesn’t stand for our ideals! We have one of the most mobilized, dedicated and enthusiastic groups in the nation, we need to stand on our own and not be dragged down by a party that doesn’t represent us! We can win in the states where our movement is the strongest and get Tea Party Candidates elected to the congress as official members of the Tea Party and not “Republicans”! I say we break free of the restrictions that are part of being a “Republican” and become true Tea Party members and true American Patriots!
“Tea Party Patriots” is to patriotism as “People’s Democratic Republic” is to democracy.
The tea party is a failure. it achieved NONE of its goals during this election. It is already attacking those it supported just a few days ago. Honey bunch is always asking for more money and it doesn’t do crap. The whole thing is an utter and total failure.
Reagan? Stop bringing Reagan into this… that was 30 years ago.
Get into the 21st Century or you can continue living in your trailers with doom’s day pods built underneath.
Best,
Karl Marx
Mark, I think you are wrong about half the voting public don’t care about the debt and the fiscal problems of our country. I want less spending and less entitlements however i will not hitch my wagon with a conservitive on social issues. If someone is gay or chooses to have an abortion i could care less as long as I dont have to pay for it. I ask the question would the tea party movement support a fiscally conservitive candidate with socially progressive views?
Ray, your not alone, the party is going off the deep end.
Fiscal conservatives who want to keep their guns and have a smaller government, have to hitch with the Michelle Bachmanns and the rest of the bible thumping looney toons.
I fear the Democrats are going to rule for a long time, here in California Republicans are almost extinct, and of course the demographics are not moving in good way.
Jon, I to live in Calif. your comments are spot on as I see it and was hoping the Tea Party or some party would understand that a lot of people would vote for candidates that share these views, and not just white folks. I guess the money comes from the extremes from both parties. I’m lost in the middle.
You may remove my above comment if you are having a problem ‘moderating’ it. It is not my desire to berate you on this forum. I see many on here who are simply trolling and it is not my wish to add to their fire. I have written to Jenny Beth about this issue and trust that she will read my letter and think about it. That being said – you may delete my comment.
ok we have allowed the dems to portray us in a bad light using lies and distortions. We can play that game to and we can use the truth. Think of this you’re sitting at home watching the news and they cut for a commercial… you see Clinton saying “I did not have sex with that girl” and them a monologue says are these the kinds of people we want running our country and suppose this was yuor daugther. What about ted Kennedy. and that lil story and the fast and fourious run 2 30 second spots on every major news program on the major national channels … Ladies and Gentleman we have got to start winning the hearts and minds of our fellow countrymen and it is goinfg to be a full time job If we continue to allow the dems to define us using lies and distortions just before major elections with the major news media shows in their pocket already we are never gonna win again. we have got to play this smarter
Go tea party,
You need to double down, when the going gets tough, more of those funny hats, more guns at political conventions, more birther tales about that damn Kenyan.
Double down I say, and let the cameras follow you.
So, let’s get going!!!
Let’s face it, we have suffered a tremendous defeat, so what do we do now? Is “moderation” the answer? Didn’t we try that with McCain + Romney? I say the time is now to kick the “moderates”out of the Republican party. We need to ban abortion. We need to ban homosexuality. We need to ban drugs. Only then can America become the land of the free. Bachmann, Akins and Mourdock are the future of our party. They understand, as our founders did, that our Constitution was inspired by the Bible, and only by following the tenants of the Bible can we truly achieve greatness.
“We need to ban abortion. We need to ban homosexuality. We need to ban drugs. Only then can America become the land of the free.”
Because, you know, banning stuff is what makes us free. But why stop there? Let’s ban paper money, Halloween, bicycles, public education, short skirts, bow ties, cigarettes, and traffic lights, too.
Ban abortion? Mike, think about how successful fanatics like you were in banning alcohol. Prohibition was a failure in every way and was the genesis of organized crime. Banning abortion may make you feel good, but the unintended consequences will be horrific. Focus on preventing unwanted pregnancies, not on bringing unwanted children into the world. Republicans can pander to extremists, but the Tea Party should stick to the core principles.
We need to be real and factual. Jenny Beth should not use Reagan as an example of a fiscal conservative President. I challenge anyone to check the historical facts. Reagan began deficit spending and first started the practice of borrowing against Social Security. Yes, the economy improved but with huge tax cuts and huge military spending, of course it did.
We also need to get out of people’s lives and bedrooms. Constitutionally, there is a clear separation between church and state. We cannot pick and choose what we want. This is America, if people want to have abortions and marry the same sex, that’s between them and God.
We need to embrace math/science and factual truth. Not our emotion and perceived God’s will.
Adapt or die people. If you think the status quo is working, you are living in a different reality.
“Out of people’s Lives”; “Separation between Church and state”; pro-choice; gay marriage; “embrace math/science”. Your words. You’re not Right Wing. You’re not Conservative. You’re not Christian. You, my friend, are a Democrat.
I respectfully disagree. You my friend are a fanatic. The mission statement for the Tea Party Patriots states fiscal responsibility. There is nothing about stopping abortion or gay marriage. These are all issues brought up by fanatical people who think they can change people’s minds. I don’t agree with abortion or gay marriage but we need to honor the rule of law in this country even if we don’t agree. My chief concern for America is this increasing debt. We need to support someone who will cut spending and raise taxes until we pay off our debt. Yes, i wrote “raise taxes”! It’s a huge poop pie and we all gotta take a bite.
Please highlight a single sentence that you wrote that disagrees with anything that President Obama has said, or that contradicts the Democratic platform.
cutting spending and increasing taxes… Obama does not want to cut spending and only wants to increase taxes for rich. I say raise taxes on everyone until we lower our debt.
But do you not agree about my comment about the Tea Party Patriot’s mission statement? Abortion and Gay Marriage should not be part of the agenda. I joined the Tea Party to stop government spending and lower our debt. Not fight a war against abortion and gay marriage.
Mike is right, you are a Democrat. Don’t you remember the Grand Bargain? President Obama has always recommended running down the debt with responsible spending cuts along with modest tax increases. Google it for yourself. No need to re-invent the Tea Party, just join the Democrats. From what you wrote, you already are one. And do remember that the only President who balanced the budget in my lifetime is Bill Clinton, and that 2/3rds of the total debt are on the republican’s tab.
Mr Right Wing Conservative Christian, what is wrong with joining the Democrats? We agree with everything that you said. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Come join us. Come home. I’m a Christian and I’m a lifelong Democrat, and proud of it.
Obama want to cut $4 trillion over 10 years. I support huge spending cuts from military to entitlements, and to increase taxes until we pay off most of the debt. As a Patriot, I am willing to pay more in taxes to save this great country.
Abortion and Gay Marriage are essential to who we are. You cannot responsibly interpret the intents of our founding fathers without taking into account the Bible, and the Bible says those are sins… Freedom has always required the purging of infidels and heretical thoughts. The Tea Party is God’s chosen instrument to do so.
This is exactly why we lost two Senate seats in Indiana and Missouri. I wonder why God gave us all free will. You sound like the fanatical Muslims. I’m joining Ron Paul’s Libertarian party. The Tea Party has become a religious movement for fanatics.
So the Tea Party is Gods instrument, but somehow this instrument failed to succeed.
Man, how the hell are we going to defeat the Democrats.
This illogical train of thought is why the conservative movement is mocked.
If I tell people I lean conservative, they think tea party nut.
The tea party has no future if this is the chosen path.
The numbers are not there and getting worse, demographics is the future whether you like it or not.
Than why did our Founding Fathers specifically plan te consitution around the seperation of church and state? The bible has NO place in legislation, or the interpretation of previously written laws. Seperation of Church and State is clearly written. There is NO room for interpretation. Wy should everyone have to live by policy based on YOUR religion?
Do you intentionally overlook Freedom of Religion, and Seperation of Church and State, or are you really just that ignorant, and uninformed? Just asking
Mr Right Wing Conservative Christian, what is wrong with joining the Democrats? We agree with everything that you said. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Come join us. Come home. I’m a Christian and I’m a lifelong Democrat, and proud of it.
Ill give you a few examples why I cant go Democrat.
I believe strongly in the right to keep and bear arms, for hunting and protection, during the LA riots I was protecting my uncle’s bussiness on a roof with an AR15, no police protection whatsover.
The elite liberals think I’m a Neandrathal, a relic, they call me a gun nut but I say I’m a realist.
The Democrats are all ways trying to raise taxes, they just passed prop 30 here in California, for the kids of course, now we have the highest taxes in the nation.
Who raises taxes in a recession.
They cant control illegal immigration, I’m not racist at all, but if we bring large amounts of the worlds poor, we will become a mirror of those countries, mainly 3rd world.
Drive around LA and you will see formerly nice neighborhoods turned into little Tijuana.
As an real estate appraiser I see this all the time, like 2 weeks ago I did a house, elderly lady, perfect lawn and roses, and surrounded by a war zone, the house at the end of block flying a mexican flag.
She bought in the 50′s when the neighborhood was very nice, husband died a while back and she spending her last days in that hellhole.
On many jobs I have to use a special strategy, get to the house very early before the gang members start waking up, work quickly and wear a ballistic vest under my clothes.
I dont have a racist bone in me, but facts are facts.
Its ok to bring in people in a controlled fashion, they will assymilate and be good citizens, but this flood encourages a country within a county.
Unfortinaly the conservative movement is self destructing, everything is a conspiracy, the liberal media conspiracy, the Bengazi conspiracy, the birthers conspiracy, the secret detention camps for republicans being built conspiracy.
And of course the crazy hatered for the twice elected leader of our nation, that very likely will end in successful attempt on his life at some point, even after he leaves the position.
After all who would not want to stop pure evil, a lousy politician you just wait out, but a Hitler like dictator, you would be unpatriotic if you didnt.
The extreamist on both sides have no respect for democracy unless the people vote they’re way, then its good.
So sad but I and many people have no political home, Democrat no way, and turn of century Republicans, batshit crazy.
To Mr Right Wing Conservative Christian, I’m a democrat who rarely reads these pages, but Jim is right: what you wrote – your solutions – are the democratic party platform. It’s not just part of the platform, it’s the ENTIRETY of the platform. Research it yourself. Yet you would rather go Libertarian than admit that the Democrats are the party of what you call “good ideas”. You are just as much a victim of bad information and propaganda, as Mr Bishop is from religious fanatics. You are just as gullible, and just as manipulated.
Facts, math, science and reason. Tea Party doesn’t believe in that. It’s all about the bible bangers. This is great! Republicans and Tea Party are blaming each other for losing the election. Keep it up so we continue winning elections.
We do believe in facts. The fact is that 1 in 6 americans are on some sort of govt aid. The fact is 43,000,000 are on food stamps. The fact is our president did not protect our own in Libya. The fact is our unemployement rate has been hovering at or above 8% for at least 2 years. And still you all voted for an incomptetant man. When our country runs out of money, taxes all citizens til they can’t give any more…and we are Greece all over again. Then maybe you will see the light. I only hope it is not too late. Because this man in the white house is doing his best to destroy every part of what is good in our country.
d.a.r.1010, Your facts are wrong. It’s not 1 in 6 Americans, it’s ALL Americans who are on some sort of gov’t aid. When was the last time you questioned why all drivers drive on the same side of the street? That’s just one example of gov’t making all of our lives safer. That takes money. It’s the Tea Party who is being irresponsible by enjoying the fruits of government without the will to actually pay for it.
The best strategy is for the Tea Party groups, Nation and Patriots, Campaign for Liberty,912, etc., to merge into one STRONG organization and begin to recruit Constitutionalist, like Ted Cruz, and get control of the Senate and House through the established Republican Party, taking our que from our favorite modern day patriot Ron Paul.
One other point – The Tea Party movement was very strong in 2009 – WHY – because we had rallies through out each of our states. We need to continue rallies in our communities to make NOISE and make our voices heard as a body of mad – mad- patriots.
The People have spoken! Big Bird has been re-elected to rule over the people of Sesame Street four more years. 47 percent; I’m sorry, 54 percent of Americans don’t want fiscal responsibility, they want to continue receiving free chocolate chip cookies from their “sugar daddy” government. Just look South at Hugo Chavez and other incumbent Latino presidents and see how they stay in power. Their tactics are to bribe the mases with enough handouts and make the self starter and hard worker the enemy of the people. Good luck future America…
The time has arrived to form a strong Party that supports the principles upon which this country was founded.
The hicks that hijacked the Tea Party ran it into the ground!!
You spent all your time attacking Romney as the liberal press was attacking you. Now you cost us the election you dumb asses
..there is no worst blind person that doesn’t want to see, no deaf that won’t try to hear…
Is there any qualify person inside the Tea Party that can read stats and understand the demographics changes of this nation? Let me tell you I consider myself a Republican, but under the current set of values established by the Republican Party and enforced by the Tea Party we are moving away from the current trend that is happening in this country.
1. You are not acknowledging that the largest growing trend among voters is the Latino Community. By continuing having the ideas of not having real immigration laws that adapts to current situation it will not help to the cause. Florida are 29 Electoral votes and the Latino Community grew 25% or more in the past 4 years. We won by a thousands votes against Gore. We lost for ten of thousands in 2008, and this year the number escalated to 50K. Come on, is any one seeing this.
2. We need to really shape our values to the modern trends, not losing ourselves into the liberal ways. The abortion and the healthcare issue are among the hottest ones that made ourselves lose the women vote.
3. We need ourselves to understand how to address the communication issue toward the African-American and the Latino Community with an effective message that doesn’t sound offensive. The key is effective and not offensive.
It we start by understanding this three facts then we will see some light by the next election. As many of the repliers to this article already mentioned if we continue with the Message that Ms Jenny Beth Martin discloses then we will be in tougher problems by the next election.
Instead of throwing out the message: “…We will turn our attention back to Congress, to fight the battles that lie ahead including balancing the budget, repealing Obamacare, cutting the debt, holding the line on the debt ceiling…” we need to have a message of reviewing the best way to address all the current situation so that we start looking into a Purple Country instead of the current Red and Blue. This division and the message of not cooperation is not helping at all.
I vote against Romney and I will do it again if I can be able to see any changes in the current party, This rhetoric message needs to change, if not you are working to make matters worst.
The Tea Party isn’t going anywhere! They’ll be standing behind the loser of every elections for years to come!! I see one word used over and over again to describe their intentions. Bringing America “back” to blah blah blah, that’s the point where they go on to describe their twisted beliefs about creating policy that upholds their ideals. Ideals which are based on their ignorant beliefs, mainly religious. I’m not sure they realize how many organized religions are in existance, with each one believing they are they only correct path. So my question is, why should an entire country have to abide by policy based on the delusional beliefs of any specific one? Thank you for helping in the systematic destruction of the Republican constituency.
Pease notice the emphasis I placed on the word “back”. It best describes your intentions. Holding the entire country back. Holding them back from any type of progress.
I am a daughter of the American Revolution: My fourth great grandfather signed the declaration of Independence. I am very proud of that heritage, and the fact that our for fathers did not compromise there convictions for the sake of peace. I understand that demographics have changed. But I also know that if we compromise our American standards and stop fighting for freedom, then we WILL have lost. We need to remember where we came from. Big government is not the answer. It only oppresses and enslaves. I have been grieving for the past three days, because I know that Obama is going to take us much further down the road to opression. If he would not provide protection to four of our own in Libya, why would he protect the rest of us here at home? He made a showing on the east coast. But strangely there are still thousands of people struggling for food, water, heat. And New York still voted for him. Clearly priorities are backwards. And yet I stand on the principle that we still have the right to speak freely, to bare arms, and to pray to our God. Even though we may be criticized. And people tell us we can’t talk about God. We can. And I will til my dying breath. I am an AMERICAN and proud of it.
We can protest the media and democratic principles by not “buying” anything but the essentials. Would you go without christmas to be heard? Then we will have a voice. If you want a voice, you must be willing to sacrifice. Why not unite together the values of good “republican” and “tea party patriots” in opposition to those that legislate charity and have no morals. If we don’t buy it, they will stop selling it. I believe the hard-working folks of the USA should decide what they want and go for it instead of pandering. I am willing, if we can all get together. Are you?
Republicans lost because they wanted to cry and complain about everything, but didn’t want to be bothered with having to show up at the polls and wait in line.
Ken, your democratic media stated that the reason was that latino and black voters were more populous, not that the white vote didn’t turn out. Listen closer to your media.
Your social ideas are antiquated and have been shot down by main stream america. The tea party, alone, takes the blame for at least 3 lost senate seats. Americans have spoken about your tea party. Just looked what they sent to your mouth piece, Allen West. We americans won’t tolerate your kind of vitriolic hate.
I hardly know how to begin a response to your hate-filled, intolerant, mean-spirited post. Those of your ilk have attempted to paint the Tea Party as some radical group, while the reality is that it is made up of ordinary TAXPAYING citizens who are tired of looters like you refusing to work hard to do for yourself and prefer to mooch off of the labors of the rest of us. How much of what I earn is enough for the government to take – as in steal? When talking about paying a “fair share”, how is it that the 2/3 of the American people pay only 3% of all taxes paid (one full third pays NOTHING) and the other third pays the rest? Where’s the fairness there? The Tea Party does not promote hate, it promotes the idea that people like you need to get off your butt and go to work to do for yourself, and that that needs to be the standard. We’re tired of people making their living off of government benefits that we are FORCED to pay for; we’re tired of the out of control government spending – and by the way, where the hell is all that money (5 Trillion a year) going? How many Solyndras have been funded? How many gov’t contracts have gone with a wink and a nod to Obama donors? Now we have Obama supporting a UN firearms control treaty, among other measures aimed at destroying American sovereignty. How can you, as an “american” stand by while these socialists do everything they can to “bring down America” and “put America in its place” by destroying the very fabric of the country? Your stupidity is exceeded only by your ignorance.
Dear Tea Party automatons, you all cost your candidate the election. At 1st I was interested in your message. But now, your singlemindness and rightwing bullshit cost us the election. You sucked out the life out Mitt and twisted his arm until he bowed to your ridiculas rhetoric and hateful words he had to spew to earn your badge of honor or dishonor. Mitt’s actions to collect your acceptance and his ability veer back to the center made him look weak and played right into the Democratic machine depiction or charactization of he really was. What a bunch assholes you all are!!!!!!!!!!
The Tea Party stands for rascism, bigotry, intorelance, bias and you covet all the wrong principles the will unite this country. If you all plan to ever win the whitehouse, you want to get your head out of your collective asses and see the light of who & what America is really about!
In 2009 I attended a TEA party in Springfield MO. It was amazing, everyone I spoke to espoused fiscal responsibility, smaller government and freedom to choose ones own way. Now I’ve been a little busy lately trying to keep my head above water, so maybe I missed something. But exactly when did the TEA party begin worrying about the personal preferences of individuals? Abortion, gay marriage? Seriously? I could not care less how other people choose to live their lives, so long as they don’t attempt to impose their will upon me. Every individual chooses their own path, and if they choose poorly in their personal lives they will have to answer for it on their own. I will not undermine my own principles by attempting to use a government bludgeon to enforce my religious beliefs on someone else. That is what liberals choose to do, force others to support their choices through government fiat. It is wrong regardless of what you are trying to impose. Coersion is still tyranny. I support the intent of our founding, and no it had nothing to do with “social” issues. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Remember those words in the Declaration? The founders put them there for a reason, not just to fill in the top of the page and make the document sound flowery. Every human being can relate to those words, that is why they are in there. Demographics my butt, try a little common sense. Leave people alone, live and let live, do your own thing, don’t tread on me. OK, that’s all the cliches I can come up with. Remember, the smallest minority is the individual.
The original Tea Party rallies I attended had ZERO discussion about “social” issues.
Only when we were co-opted by the repubicans, did these become an issue.
The left just assumed that because we were fiscally conservative we were also socially conservative.
We have to seperate ourselves from these antiquated views of morality.
NOBODY wants to be dictated to by the government on what they choose for themselves.
We are about FISCAL responsibility. It is that simple. Do not spend what you do not have.
The traditional republican party is going down. Libertarianism is the future for real conservatives.
If you want to be the thought police, then advocate for that on a STATE level where it belongs.
I can’t believe my eyes. So now it happens that Romney was the Establishment’s candidate?
But you teapartiers supported him over Ron Paul!
Ron Paul was the real deal all along. He would have blasted Obama in the debates and in the election day! Actually, the third debate would have been a monologue, because Obama would have not dared showing up because of sheer terror of a true conservative. Ron Paul is so conservative that he is a libertarian!
But no. You sheeps simply decided to harken sirens’ songs and decided to go with a very bad candidate, a blue candidate, a truly boring candidate, a not-confrontational candidate. What a colossal error! In order to take out an incumbent president you need a lot of motivation, a truly justified intellectual revolution. Only Ron Paul could have won. And you all turn your backs to the last oportunity for America to have a constitutional-aware President. And you did so because you are obnoxious victims of the main stream media and the idiot Glenn Beck.
Wake up!
Stop losing time with neocons, socialists, militarists and cronies. Sign up for the sound money, sane economics, non-interventionist discourse of Ron Paul.
Well done…. words of truth.
OMG YOU ARE ALL SICK AND DANGEROUS. THIS ISN’T CONSERVATIVE ANYTHING THIS IS COMMUNISM! SOCIALISM!! The very principles you stand against, you are!!! START READING THE BLACK PRINT OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS AND GOT BETWEEN THE LINES. He have creatively taken pieces of what has been written by a group of extreme liberal men for the age in time. THAT’S RIGHT EXTREME LIBERALS WERE OUR FORE FATHERS YOU IDIOTS. The original tea party wanted freedom from people like yourselfs. YOUR UNAMERICAN, underground Common day Nazi’s and you scares
many so crawl back under the hole u came out of, get professional help and do take the meds prescribed because you are seriously disturbed.
A democrate,
Mary
Please had a long talk with Thad McCotter from Michigan.
He’ super, super smart, he and Mike Pence, Pete Sessions did a lot of the heavy lifting and went lots of districts and supported lots of business people, tea party people and vets, to take back the house.
Thad made the one and only real answer to fix Social Securiy.
Thad done lots of speeches at colleges, etc. Super smart but no elitist.
He entered the race on July 4th, 2011
Thad is a rock and roll guy, he wrote his first song in 2011 for his campaign at Andrew Breitbart’s place in LA. The name of the song is “American Faith” (His brothers band is screaming lemers)
The group’s name that sang with TMAC is called “The Army you have”
A bunch of behind the scenes investigations needs to happen, why was he not allowed in the debates at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or even vetted for VP by Romney and his team.
I personally think that Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Newt G, Mitt Romney, and Carl Rove are behind this mess.
The elites establishment need to go on trial once and for all, or they will never change.
Most of America is super conservative so why won’t they even allow the conservative message out. They also did a lot of heavy lifting to get a lot of states more conservatiove.
The whole debate thing is a mess – 90 minutes to debate for the biggest job around.
Heritage needs to take over, The stupid elites- including Romney must think it still 1945 – golly gee wiz, one speech should be enough for these people.
One of the other problem with the elist ideas, their heart isn’t in it at all, they don’t care if Obama get’s reelected.
Only one example of the waiting on baited breath – for Rick Perry – all he could was answer the same as Obama – Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
What depts want eliminated – zero
Thad’s boss was Dick Cheneny and is only one of a few that was there from the start on the war in Irag, no talking points kind of person. He was working with the really smart guys, Peteras, Pete Hookstra, Rumsfeld, Bush
They did tons of work just to start the clean up mess – thanks to Gingrich for balancing his budge for $0 for the military.
I love the Tea Party and think getting our rights and freedoms back are one of my many concerns, I am also aware that everyone has made bad decisions at one time or another, however I will say that with the blatant lying and deception by obama we are going to be on a spiral downward at least until these “takers” are held accountable for something. This problem cannot be solved without strong values and a national team of people. I realize that the Tea Party was leaning towards Mr. Romney but them not recognizing us is sad and will hopefully end but us bashing them is detrimental as the slight differences between Tea Party and Republican far out weigh the vast divide we have with the left and if we would like to accomplish anything we must not be the voice that hurts or denounces the republicans. I am not saying we should abandon our principals or ideology but simply not publicly chastising them when we don’t agree. We must look at the greater good and truth be told they are a far better group of policy makers then the dems and that being said we will have a strong future if the republicans are chosen by the people and then we can offer similar policy to the people with a dash of AMERICAN RIGHTS an FREEDOMS!!! Once people see what we can offer in comparison to a strong and prosperous Republican we will begin our journey as the greatest and freest party ever.
Interesting posts. Some people vow to continue the fight fo the dominance. Others are saying that Tea Party will never be in majority because Americans reject the Tea Party views.
I think both are right. Tea Party will never be in the majority in this age of the government dependency and poor minorities soon becoming the majority.
But Tea Party can and should carry out an important mission — defend and protect the white middle class and those who share the same views and values. We can’t do it through electoral or legislative process, but should adopt the same approach and tactics that the Civil Rights movement so successfully used against us. Become a porcupine nobody wants to touch! Maybe this will buy us another 100 years or so of decent life.
I think that besides acorn, blackwater was also responsible as I have lived out the mental terrorism from them besides the acorns nuts. Obama hired them for homelend security, and if rommney was the only thing we had to win the election in the direst hour, i believe that for what it was worth people should have voted rommney this time if they ahd a conscience because now someone without much of one if at all had slimed back in again. I think everyone should facebook ryan and rommney asking them to go to supreme court to take the place of the vote fraudster, the entire country is under electronic hypnosis anyway because of the robot clone forehead chips and the brain/ear implants that acorn and blackwater are fitting everybody with to help obama win over all with global healthcare, which are the eyes and ears of the european union and blackwater is for them at the top of their organization , beware of their extortion tactics and takeover meneuvers if they arent true conservative republicans as they actually help the left on purpose becasue thats where their money is coming from. They use electronic weapons against actual conservatives and so do acorns especially after they have microchipped them. I’m glad you guys are fighting in congress and the senate, I would think that maybe ryan would be more concilliatory to your post that rommney would.GD bless happy new year.
That is a huge amount of blathering drivel coming from the national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots (as usual). Where to begin:
#1 Jenny’s quote- “We wanted a fighter like Ronald Reagan who boldly championed America’s founding principles, who inspired millions of independents and ‘Reagan Democrats’ to join us, and who fought his leftist opponents on the idea that America, as founded, was a ‘Shining city upon a hill.’
Hint to JB: Ron Paul was that fighter who would have inspired millions of independents AND Democrats to break ranks. He has boldly championed (by his Constitutional record… feel free to research it) America’s founding principles. JB, your insincerity speaks volumes. Was it not you so long ago that called ALL of the presidential candidates “losers”? They might be ( minus Ron Paul) big government neocon statist, but none were losers. Jenny Beth, you couldn’t save a rubber ducky from drowning in a dry bathtub… and you are not capable intellectually of saving the Republic. Was it not you who pissed away a quarter of a million dollars of donated monies to host a Republican conference? Jenny, you ARE an establishment hack, pretending to be an indignant grassroots cheerleader. LOL! Many are not fooled.
Additionally, this week, you once again called for the Balanced Budget Amendment (# 1 on the ‘to do’ list going forward). This will likely lead to a ‘Constitutional Convention’ to which the progressives are salivating over. It’s in your book. A con-con will lead this Republic into the abyss at a much faster fate than is currently happening.
Please wake up folks to this charlatan and the Tea Party Patriots supposedly “constitutional” agenda. Plenty of wolves come dressed in sheep’s clothing.
Folk’s, respectfully…. please do your research re: the Tea Party Patriots. Their board is nearly all made up of neoconservative CNP members who worship at the feet of the establishment Republican hierarchy. They are leading you down the wrong path. Match their rhetoric and action with the founders’ principles AND the Constitution and the veil will be lifted.
P.S….. I am very curious as to how long this post will survive
Tea Party has a good idea, but very very poor execution. They want fiscal responsibility because a fiscally responsible America will be a better America. However, they cloak their fiscal ideas with Social Barbarism sponsored by Christianity. They relentlessly push Chrisitian law on a secular nation, and nominate candidates like Murdock and Akin who want to see and America that dictates how women should live, that must all follow Christian ideology, and those who want to believe in other religious/secular beliefs as non-American. Lose the Social Conservative crusade, becuse you will never achieve fiscal responsibility with your medieval social tactics.
This would be a more honest response by the Tea Party Patriots were they not so into ‘spin’ and hypocrisy. (satire
????
” We, the Tea Party Patriots National organization, bowed to the co-opting that started just before our inception in early 2009 by FreedomWorks. We admit that the real Tea Parties were started by Ron Paul liberty lovers in 2007, not 2009. The Ron Paul people were getting too much recognition and the last thing we need are folks who really adhere to the Constitution. There were many “conservatives” who were ‘off the grid’ and floating around. Hell, we didn’t even have their email address to solicit monies. That had to change.
So we started another 501c4, (as FreedomWorks suggested) so we could capture and solicit our wayward ‘friends’ hearts and wallets. 100% grassroots (like at the bottom of this page)… nah, we decided to solicit our many (dwindling) chapters and keep the funds to “restore America”. Those suckers (tea party groups) scattered across the U.S. patiently waited for the resources to reinforce their positions in this battle. But alas…. it was not to be.
But the CNP had some well-heeled neocons who needed a hobby and many of them were swimming in cash, so we brought them in and they became board members…. still, only a trickle made it to the grassroots.
We accepted Romney and were tingly all over for Paul Ryan ( he raised the debt ceiling 5 times, 6? I forget). Our 3 core principles… that Ron Paul has always adhered to…. were set aside in favor of an establishment Republican candidate as dictated by our board and even higher up the food chain. Yes, it would have been better for America to tacitly support the true Constitutionalist (Ron Paul) were we actually true to the principles we espouse. Get over it. In reality, we talk a good game…. but we are actually about getting establishment Republicans elected… period. Can you not see that??
We support a Constitutional Convention. As does OWS (remember them?) and numerous progressive liberal elite groups do as well (a lot!). Simply enforcing the Constitution ‘as is’ has become passe. Even if a con-con greatly endangers the Republic, it is part of the risk associated with the Balanced Budget Amendment. Again, get over it.
In closing, it is our right to flip-flop on Romney and turn on him like a pit-bull on prozac. Were he to win the other day, we would have cheered and partied like Gary Busey at an all-night strip club after an extended rehab. But he lost, so now we must go back to being grouchy grassroots gus and feign outrage. If you are buying our dog and pony show… good…. the board members will be pleased. Those millions of Ron Paul supporters wouldn’t shut up the hell up. As good little neoconservatives, we had to find creative propaganda to distract and distort from the stated principles promoted by the Tea Party. It’s been an exhausting ride. We appreciate you sticking with us. Please continue to send funds, please continue to watch Faux News, please do not hold us to the stated principles as they are merely there to sound sweet and patriotic. We have much to do (many Republicans to elect). We are thrilled to be your champions of statism, I mean … patriotism.
I am old therefore I have no dog in this race, I will die soon and all I have for you is my knowledge. I am praying you young people will listen today because decissions I made 60+ years ago have been mutated and manupilated by man to be self serving and do not look at all today like what I was so excited about back then. I remember my dad asking me if I knew that paying income tax was first a “temporary” tax. France today has a 75% tax bracket….75%!!!! france is arguably the most socialist country in the EU. guess how many people in france earning over a million a year are still there? it is impossible to ignore the fact that the USA is moving toward a socialist country in light of the recent election. THE biggest mistake is the affordible care act (Obama care). anyone that is 30 years old today had better take extreme care of their health because “you” just gave someone else control “over you” and they have the interest of the “greater good” at heart, not yours. the best way to describe this phemoneomon is to say,” so, you think health care is expensive today? Just wait till it’s free”. I itallcised “you” because actions have consequences, you did this to “you” not me I’m dead already. there are NO successful socialist countries. Step back and look around and ask your self why they have been around 2,000 years and us only 250 yet we are the top of the food chain. don’t mess with what we have been doing.
when I read all of your comments I hear hatred and vitriol coming from mostly one side. why are you so bitter and hateful and angry? and please don’t be offended. it’s just an observation. please realize people can disagree with love and respect. I just heard someone say….since 47% of this country is liberal and 47% conservative let’s just build a wall right up the middle and each take half and let’s see just how many tunnels get built by one side trying to get to the other. Socialism can only exist if it has a symbioatic relationship with some people who produce…… pop quiz….Which side made this next statement ? “I don’t care that you want things a certain way, just don’t force them on me, go away and live a good life.” the answer is clear. It’s how 94% of us feel, that’s the definition of Liberty. That experiment has already been done. It is called the founding of America. We ran from Tyrany. it’s now followed us here…. I bet you did not know that America was really an “experiment” did you? it was. we were first settled as a commune, within two years we almost starved to death. then came the Mayflower compact ( capitalism and free trade). America was born.
I will leave you with this shameless plug for a movie. My grand children took me to see a movie called Atlas Shrugged, from a book written by Ayn Rand. they thought I would like it because it was written 50 years ago when I was still young and ask me if I ever read the book, I had, but confessed I cound not remember anything about it. By the end of the movie I sat quiet with tears streaming down my cheeks and made them sad. they ask why ? I told them as the movie went on I began remembering chapter by chapter and had dismissed it back then as fantasy. Nothing so absurde could ever happen to the greatest country on earth we said….it turns out Ayn Rand was a fortune teller….the movie should be seen by everyone. 50 years ago it forcast the socialist take over we are in today…….
What we need is a way forward.
To anyone with any knowledge of accounting, we cannot sustain more debt. The only solution coming from the Democrats is to borrow more money, as if some other country will put the government of the United States on their welfare rolls like the government here is putting more people its welfare rolls.
The Republican leadership in Congress has been abysmally weak. They are cowards. When we needed for them to speak up strongly, they cowered and spoke nebulously. Eric Holder told them to GFY, and they cowered in their corner of the playground like weaklings.
We need a new Speaker.
We need a new Minority Leader.
NO MORE DEBT. NOT FOR ANY REASON. MAKE THE GOVERNMENT CUT WHAT IT DECIDES TO CUT TO BRING US BACK TO FISCAL SANITY.
When the social programs get their fair share of the cuts, there will be social upheaval. Those communities that have been trained to wait on the government to take from everyone else and give to them the sustenance they need will riot.
We should do nothing to stop them. After it is over, let them live in the ashes they created. Do not subsidize the rebuilding of the ruins they created. We should react to the event as if it is what it actually is – a tantrum. Let them throw it, then let them live in the mess they create. Those that want a better life will separate themselves from those who will continually throw tantrums when the government doesn’t give them everything they want.
Should we continue to placate the portion of the population that throws these tantrums, we will continue to increase the divisions among us. We are on the brink of secession in many regions. The government should make it clear to these people that they must become self-reliant. There isn’t any money to support them anymore. We need a Speaker and a Minority Leader that will say this, and draw a line in the sand.
There is no avoiding the reality that we must suffer the consequence of a reduced status in the world. It is fallacy to pretend otherwise. We cannot avoid the consequence of our enemies that are the reality in the world will become stronger as we become weaker. We must look beyond that to the future and make the decisions today necessary for us to resume our position after we solve these domestic problems that threaten our existence. More debt will only delay the resurgence we will need in the future and make it more difficult.
We need people in Congress that will stand firm on the principle that borrowing more money will only worsen our already critical situation.
The most significant threat to our existence is the debt.
We need a new Speaker.
Paul Ryan.
We need a new Minority Leader.
Mark Rubio.
If we do not develop a stronger presence in our government, this country and government will not survive. It will be replaced by the usual dictatorial oligarchies that were the norm in the world before the emergence of the United States to the apex of international influence.
??? Respectfully DBWriter, Paul Ryan? In bold letters you write NO MORE DEBT, but Paul Ryan voted to raise the debt ceiling 5-6 times (I lost count). See the problem?
Marco Rubio… A war-mongering neoconservative who worships at AIPACS feet. Trillions more put on the credit card to nation-build everywhere….. everywhere but in the U.S. He is a status-quo establishment Republican hungry to serve the elite.
The Republicans are done, they committed their final act of suicide at the convention. They essentially “aborted” their ‘under 50′ true liberty demographic within the party (Millions of them, BTW). Those they aborted will not be brought back to serve within the ranks… ever…. they are gone. The Republican stalwarts will now wander the open seas in an aged rotted boat with torn sails, preaching austerity to favor the Banksters agenda, preaching endless foreign aggression, and preaching that neoconservative policies are the path to restore Constitutional soundness, when so many of the real liberty movement ( no, NOT the Tea Parties) are discovering otherwise.
Two of my ‘truth’ post re: the Tea Party Patriots (National Organization) were deleted as I knew they would be. No cuss words, no slander, just research combined with the truth.
What are you guys at the TPP afraid of?
The good thing about this past election is it knocked us to our knees, which is where we needed to be in the first place, praying and asking God to save our country. Now we need to stand in faith, and help those around us who are still reeling from the election. And then we need to get busy. As bad as things are, they can always get worse and we need to fight like there’s no tomorrow. There is still hope!!! Now let’s get busy!
It’s not your fault that you are bigoted, ignorant and backwards. It’s the way you were brought up. You lost. Get over it. America decided to be critical thinkers. Evolve tea people. Join us. Fargon
Are you kidding me? There is no more! We are finished. The US is finished! My family cannot hang on any longer. THIS WAS IT FOR US!!!!! We’ve lost the Supreme Court too!!! Doesn’t matter what the House votes for, Obama is going to bypass all of congress!!! This election was a farse!!! We had candidates that were too darn stupid in how they worded things. We have an uphill battle before we even start!! I’m tired of all this. WE LOSE AND IT’S OVER!
Derp. Obama won the pop vote too. Over 1 million ahead of Romney and California hasn’t even tallied it all up yet.
Romney did NOT win the popular vote. Obama won the popular vote by 2 percentage points. This is the problem with extremists: you base your arguments on what you want to believe instead of the truth. You cannot create fairytales and expect rationale adults to live in them with you. Only other irrational extremists will join you. You are the ones claiming to be Christians. Christ said that the Truth will set you free. Stop fabricating lies.
This is why you lose. You keep thinking the world is out to get you. I’ve got news for you. Its NOT! The only people who have hatred for their fellow Americans is you with your hate and ignorance. Get ride of those two things and more people will take the Tea Party more serous
Reader,
There is no left agenda, it’s called being a decent human being with a kind heart and trying to help the greater good along with those who are less fortunate. Yes I agree with you in that we do need to practice more critical thinking, but critical thinking implies a non-linear abstract way of solving this country’s problems, not the linear, tunnel-vision, my way or the highway, BS thinking your party attempts to mandate.
Critical thinking envolves flexibilty, adaptability, and God forbid sometimes even frickin compromise, a function the Tea Party seems completely void of.
Wait you didn’t get the agenda memo? Oh, I’ll just summarize it:
Turn every one gay, force windmills in everyone’s backyard, hire 100,00 IRS agents to steal everyone’s guns at night, and amend the constitution to count every illegal at 3/8 of a person for representation purposes.
