Republican Senators, Congressman miss the boat on deficit prioritization
November 26, 2012 at 1:11 pm in News by Dustin Siggins 48 Comments

In a recent radio interview, Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia said he is willing to raise taxes in order to help solve America’s debt problem. Chambliss’ comments (as well of those of Senator Graham (R-SC), Senator Corker (R-TN) and Rep. Peter King (R-NY), all of whom have supported tax increases in the last few days) have inspired a firestorm of criticism from many quarters. Rather than repeat these criticisms – Tea Party values are not in line with tax increases, after all – I’d like to address two points the debate on the national debt often whitewashes.
First, it is not against Tea Party values to increase revenue to the federal government. It is against Tea Party values to raise taxes. Eliminating loopholes and lowering rates equivalently would not be a tax increase, and would help the economy boom. This would necessarily include more employment by millions of Americans, which would in turn bring in more revenue to the federal government. For some reason, many opponents of tax increases in Washington fail to tie this in with their opposition to higher taxes, which means the media can make opposition to tax increases look foolish.
Second, raising taxes will never solve America’s debt problem. Ever. Spending is on a runaway rise, and tax revenues can only go so high. Raising taxes will chip away at the deficit, to be sure – but raising taxes will also blunt economic growth, and continue the government conceit that says its addiction to more spending should be bailed out by more of your hard-earned income. The simple fact is that we have a massive spending problem, and while our tax code does need reform, increasing rates won’t do the job.
In the end, spending should be brought back within the bounds of the Constitution. This would negate the argument for higher taxes, as the budget would easily balance. Any solution that aims for higher taxes on Americans without putting the budget in the direction of constitutionality is one based upon intellectual dishonesty, and is not a real solution to America’s debt problem.
The aforementioned Senators and Congressman are not the only Members of Congress who are okay with taking more of your money instead of focusing on economic growth and major cuts to the federal budget. They are merely some of the latest to state it publicly. As Congress continues to discuss the “fiscal cliff,” make sure you and your fellow local Tea Party Patriots are ready to let your Representatives and Senators know exactly what you think of any proposal to increase taxation on the American people.

This is the problem with America as a whole. We are a society of spenders. We don’t know how to save irregardless of how in debt we are. Our society does not know how to budget so why should the government be any different. I like to say that to change the world you have to start with yourself. Unfortunately, the world isn’t going to give us the time to change gradually over time. The entire population of the United States has a very difficult road ahead. Even if the government makes major cuts we will see an estreme change in our way of life. We, as citizens, need to decide do we want to do this right or do this the easy way.
I believe taxes have been the lowest in years. We just recently got a payroll tax cut too. You people call yourself fiscal conservatives, but you don’t want to pay taxes. Bush passes huge tax cuts, Medi-Care prescription drug plan and starts two wars and doesn’t pay for any of it.
Any tax cuts without spending cuts is merely a tax shift.
I hate it when TP confuses the term Taxed Enough Already as part of the Tea Party movement. Of course I am just assuming that my friend Dustin just took advantage of the T.E.A.
BTW, great articles Dustin. Thanks for keeping the website’s registered members updated on what is happening within the TPP. They want to know what the TPP is doing and planning since the election.
Here is the reality:
Cutting spending alone won’t solve our problem. More people will have to pay taxes than currently pay today. That 47 percent that do not pay income taxes will have to start paying. This is the exact situation:
If the government were a household that earned 50,000 a year, it would have a credit card debt of 332,000 dollars. That is insane.
The biggest problem is, the debt incurred the past 4 years we got nothing for. It was like a bad investment. We cannot continue to invest in that plan.
We have to draw a line in the sand.
NO MORE DEBT. NOT FOR ANY REASON.
If Congress cannot generate a budget for the government, then let the government shut down. The government spends a lot less money when it is shut down than it does otherwise. If Congress can’t do what we hire them to do, then shut the government down.
We need to change the leadership in the House.
Paul Ryan should be our next Speaker of the House.
If we do not change our leadership, then we should not expect any change from the past 4 years. It is the weak Republican leadership in Congress that allowed this catastrophe to grow to the proportions it is today and threaten our existence.
Cutting spending certainly would solve the immediate problem.
If the national government spent currently what it spent ten years ago, they’d have a surplus.
I agree. There was nothing wrong with the size of government 20 years ago. If Obama can’t send a budget to Congress, and Congress can’t generate a budget, then just pull the budget from 10 years ago out and vote on that.
But, we cannot afford to borrow any more money.
NO MORE DEBT. NOT FOR ANY REASON.
If Congress can’t do what we hired them to do, then shut the government down. Let it stay shut down until Congress grows up and does the job we hired them to do.
I don’t expect much out of the president. He’s never done anything in his entire life but ride the government gravy train. That’s all he knows. In four years, he only submitted two budgets to Congress. And, the sum total of votes for all two of the four budgets we hired him to submit got a sum total of votes in Congress of ZERO. That’s NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH. He gets virtually 100 percent of the black vote, and can’t get even one goddam vote from the Congressional Black Caucus. It’s obvious every Democrat in Congress thinks Obama is a loon.
… yet, they put him on the ballot. … and he gets elected.
Now, with the most recent proposal to generate revenue, the Democrats are all but pulling direct quotes from Karl Marx out of Das Kapital.
Taxing the acrued assets of capitalists????????
Directly from Karl Marx: The capitalist has no rights.
Therefore, the assets they accrued were acquired illegally, and it can legitimately be seized by a Marxist government as part of redistributing wealth.
The Constitution prevents the government from seizing private property without due process.
So, just what do the Democrats really think about the Constitution?
Are the Democrats enemies of the Constitution?
That would make the Democrats enemies of the government of the United States.
Should an enemy of the Constitution gain control of any branch of government, that would constitute a rebellion against the Constitution.
How should the American people react to this? Should they react in the same manner they reacted when they initially installed the Constitution and made the American citizens not the subjects of anyone?
Would you agree that we should also cut spending to the military?
Certainly. I’m in favor of an adequately strong defense- Adequate to defend the U.S., not to police the entire world.
Bill Kristol said the Tea Party wouldn’t care if they raised taxes. My question is who made Bill Kristol our spokes person and how many T P members does he know? And when they speak of spending cuts it’s never Obama’s Nocare law or the cell phones, food stamps, housing, or SSI for abled bodied people. It’s always SS, Medicare and Medicaid.
Just think about it they want to cut social programs implemented by the government, but we can afford Obama’s Nocare? They think we are stupid.
P
Here’s something from another thread. I think it applies here, too. We have a problem with Republicans selling out to the Democrats for soem temporary funding that increases the debt.
NO MORE DEBT. NOT FOR ANY REASON.
(In response to another post)
The “hatred” you reference doesn’t exist. You invent it, no differently than the Democrats invent the class and racial “hatred” they use to defend any Democrat Marxist proposal they put forward.
The “anger” is real. We are angry about the RINOs selling Americans and their freedom and liberty down the road for the mere pittance of some temporary funding that could disappear the very next year. An example of this is the RINOs voting for a defense appropriations for one year and conceding to the Democrats the very obviously unconstitutional authority given to the president to identify any American citizen at his whim and order the standing Armed Forces of the United States to invade their privacy/home/whatever and seize them, and detain them without charges until it is the whim of the president to release them. When the RINOs should be forcing the Democrats toward fiscal sanity, they contribute to the problem by accepting some token temporary funding at the expense of an increased debt, which is the single most significant threat to our existence today.
There is only false hope if the intent is to increase the debt to pay for some free entitlement that hasen’t been earned by the recipient.
The only hope for our continued existence comes from Americans becoming a self-reliant culture again. Otherwise, there is not a chance in hell this country will survive.
Let’s talk about open-mindedness….
A closed mind refuses to accept factual history.
“Capitalism”
Speak the word.
What connotation does it have with you?
Negative. Evil.
“Marxism”
Speak the word.
What connotation does it have with you?
Legitimate. Enlightened.
Now, the facts of history:
Capitalism lifted the world out of the stone age that existed for the vast majority of the world’s population a century ago when if you had change in your pocket you were among the top 10 percent of the wealthiest people in the world.
Marxism killed more people than all the wars of the previous century around the world combined. In every case where Marxism was allowed to infect the government, the population was impoverished and enslaved, and mass murder was used to condition the population to accept the unnatural human existence of Marxism.
Why does Marxist communism always fail?
Because Marxist principles are diametrically opposed to the genetically programmed human instinct to stratify its societies.
And, somehow, after all this is obvious in any cursory study of actual history, we elected a Marxist as president.
The reason that happened isn’t because Americans are Marxist. Americans have been dumbed down to the point where they can’t even define Marxism. The vast majority of Americans wouldn’t recognize a Marxist if one was brainwashing them with a bullhorn in their face.
Want to talk about going farther than the socialist principle of increased taxation on the earnings to the marxist principle of taxing the combined assets of an individual?
This is Marxism in spades. And, it’s here in our administration today and driving the train.
The Tea Party is finished. All decent Americans voted against you and hopefully you will be strung up by your ankles. Your movement is no different than that of the German nazis in 1930.
National Socialism… hmmmmm. And your ignorant conclusion is the TEA Party is Socialist?
The Democrats negotiated into a defense appropriations bill the obviously unconstitutional authority for the president at his whim to identify any individual American citizen within the borders of the United States and order the standing Armed Forces of the United States to invade their home/privacy/whatever and seize them, then detain them without charges until it is the whim of the president to release them.
Please tell us why you think the Democrats are not like Hitler, and every other dictator that has ever existed, and why you think it is the TEA Party and their adherence to the Constitution of the United States that is like Hitler.
…. this should be good.
You need to keep in mind that Bush first passed that bill and made it so that every president will pass very similar bills after him. It wouldn’t matter if it was Obama, McCain or Romney
Nazi’s were fascists not socialists even though their moniker included the word. The tea partiers would be grand if they would have kept the religious right from taking over their movement.
Jed, my husband and I recently joined the Tea Party. It took me a while because I mistakenly thought the religious right was in control of it. I believe in keeping social issues out of politics. I support the mission statement and believe in the principals as stated on this web site. I hope it is not too late to embrace those principles and tell the religious right to keep their moralizing out of our politics.
Kristene, our nations economy IS a social issue as is the behavior of the people elected to serve us and represent us.
National Socialist is a national socialist. I don’t think you know the definitioin of the word “fascist”.
Politically, fascism commands blind obedience to the head of state and total dedication to the state. Economically, fascism manifests itself with government control of the economy while allowing private investment without control. This private non-controlling investment is allowed to specific individuals, groups, organizations, and can be disallowed to any individual, group or organization by decree of the head of state.
This is very similar to the Obama government buying stock in banks from the board members at inflated prices with the agreement that the board members will remain in their positions provided they obey the commands of the Obama government, then selling the same stock back to the board members at lower prices. This move allowed the banks preferred by the Obama government to go from bankruptcy to being so flush with money they could engage in hostile takeovers of banks that didn’t cave into the Democrats’ idiotic Marxist subprime housing mortgage underwriting program and become bankrupt, but were weakened by the effects of the financial institutions that did and collapsed the economy sufficiently to become victims of hostile takeovers of financial institutions that should have gone bankrupt. This is the source of the stories about certain banks not being allowed to borrow money from the Fed under Bernanke’s control in the usual manner, thus couldn’t fight a hostile takeover by the banks preferred by the Obama government.
It is entirely possible for a nation to be fascist and socialist at the same time. Germany obviously had a socialist system. It also had a fascist system.
Also, it seems that your Democratic Party government has a striking similarity to Hitler’s government.
Economically, a capitalist economy has to go through a fascist stage before it is transformed into a communist economy.
But Jed,
Socialism NEVER arises spontaneously, it always has to be imposed by force, and it can’t sustain itself, since it’s fundamental economic principles simply fail. It ALWAYS has to be sustained by force.
That’s why the German National Socialist Party, while socialist in name and principle, was actually fascist. It’s also why the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, while socialist in principle and republican in form, were also in actuality fascist dictatorships.
The system of government provided by our Constitution (if we would use it) allows freedom. Even the freedom to live in socialist or communist communities- although they always fail because of the fundamental flaws at the heart of their economics.
Socialism on the other hand, cannot allow freedom. It MUST coerce everyone into it’s narrow confines- and it still doesn’t work. It is a fundamentally flawed economic system that eventually creates enough poverty, misery and death that it collapses.
By the way, since the vote was just about 50 – 50, are you saying that half of the population of the United States is evil? Are you saying that the half of the United States that pays all the income taxes in the entire country is evil, and the half that lives on the benefits paid for by the other half is all good?
Do you actually believe what comes out of your own mouth?
Charles, why all the anger and hatred, you have not said anything of substance. Just thrown wild accusations. And your ignorance is appalling. You appear to know nothing about the Tea Party.
Now why would a liberal left leaning progressive be on a conservative website like this? To spread your ignorance? The TEA Party is all about less government intrusion into individuals lives and having this “nanny state” B.S. shoved down our throats. I suggest you read the Constitution, you’ll probably need a dictionary for the big words, to get an understanding of what this country is all about. It is not about progressives. If you really want to learn, try to find some high school history and social studies books from the 1950′s and early 60′s. Once you do that, compare them to the crap that has and still is being force-fed by these sorry excuses they call teachers. The only thing worse than them are the college and university professors. I mean, they actually have a profess or out in California teaching about Stalin and how he never murdered any of his own citizens. Seriously, Stalin?? What a moron…and yes “Blue” I am name calling so you do not have to cut and paste my comments. I’m sick and tired of listening to liberal progressives calling someone a racist just because they do not like Obama, or Rice, or Garrett (who actually runs the White House) grow up for pete’s sake. BTW, while you’re reading the school books why don’t you research the democrat party from the early part of the 20th century and you’ll see that THEY were the ones that were racist and the perpetrators of everything they try and blame the republicians for. Now, don’t get me wrong…McCain, Graham, Boehner and the majority of them are also progressives, just not as “in your face” about it. It was democrat govenors that blocked blacks from the state universities, it was democrats that formed the KKK, and a host of other great crimes they’ll never admit to or talk about. Learn our history and maybe you might find you’re actually a conservative after all…who knows?
and what is your definition of a “decent” American? Would that be a leftist liberal who would screw numerous clients seeking legal immigration assistance and have no remorse? Can it be hypocrisy to suggest that those who want a prosperous and fair country should be demonized as Nazis, while using your power as an attorney to take advantage of the poor and downtrodden who were only hoping to find a life in this country?
If the Republican leadership in the House doesn’t change, we will continue to have our Constitution sold down the river.
If the Republican Party insists on keeping Boehner as Speaker, then we split the party. Turn control over to the Democrats, then go after the House in the mid-term elections.
No doubt the Democrats will loan to the Republicans their voter fraud machine in an attempt to maintain the presence of RINOs that will concede everything to the Democrats. That’s just something we will have to contend with until we get into a position where we can put those people in prison.
Paul ryan should be the next Speaker of the House.
Mark Rubio should be the next Minority Leader in the Senate.
Or, we split the party
Four years have gone by and there is no progress toward the unemployment situation. Raising taxes on those who already pay is not exactly fair when there is a pool of able people who would do the same if they had a job. Keep in mind that we are paying much higher prices for gas and that problem is being ignored. Food prices are double in many cases. Some Single parents work for minimum wages which doesn’t go far making it hardly worth working when they could be subsidized by the government. New college graduates are not only competing with each other but with those who graduated the past few years. Personal loans not being paid grow with interest on the interest as does the deficit. Logically, those who are on welfare realize that unless they have a job with an adequate income they are probably better off to stay put for their childrens sake. Government needs to get off Corporations back and listen to them and work with them. They and the small business sector are the source of employment, when they go down we all go down. Restructure the corporate tax- fine – but do so on a graduated tax plan and let us get out of this mess first. My thought at this time is that raising taxes will bring those who are survivng now ever closer to depleation.
Well said DB Writer and Maggie, Lets take the next logical step how do you change society?
How could you possibly make being a spendthrift, living with less popular?
How do you make it courageous, heroic to stand on your own to feet?
We don’t need to change everyone just a share of the population.
I believe to some extent some of the next generation of 20 year olds who were teens when the crash hit will be affected, many lost houses and watched there parents drowning in debt. My kids are that age group so I have seen a few that I believe will be spend thrifts. In some realms the “Hipster” kids have some of the rejection of Societal spending norms taking pride in old things, reusing and re tasking.
How did the hippie movement take hold of a whole generation, so quickly. The hippies were a rejection of societal norms of the 40-50′s, money, perfect house, perfect life.
How do we use this crash and the instability that it has caused in their lives.
Has it created enough instability for the next generation to crave stability?
What ideas do you have out there about how do we CREATE the societal change?
Please Post some ideas
The Left has done a good job of getting the message out and getting it adopted, are there any methods we can use.

There is no easy answer. The reality is, our debt has become so great, everyone will have to pay without exceptions.
The argument now is about trying to exempt people from paying/paying more than they are already paying.
Given a government acting sanely, I would not promote a flat tax.
However, our government has been absolutely insane the past 4 years. I think the only practical answer is a flat tax on EVERYONE. Everyone over 18 should have to submit a statement of income, and a flat tax is calculated to make revenue equal spending.
Everyone has to pay for the government. If everyone had to pay for the government they voted to create, then they’d probably stop voting mindlessly for the Marxist policies which are erroneously being labelled socialist.
Let’s see how everyone votes when everyone has to pay their fair share of what the government cost. Let everyone get some of their own skin in the game.
I agree DBWriter a flat tax across the board is the only fair tax. The more complicated they make the tax code the more unfair it becomes, Simplifying it with a flat tax will also save money on implementation.
There is nothing “fair” about taking 15% to 25% of everything working people earn (not counting what they have to pay to their State and local governments) and giving it to the national government, even if the national government could be limited to it’s Constitutional enumerated powers. If we could limit the national government to it’s actual purposes and it’s few actual powers, it could be easily funded by taxes on actual “income” i.e. profits from business activities, profits from the use of property and profits generated by employing the labor of others.
Money people earn by working, whether paid in wages or salaries, is NOT “income”. It is NOT profit derived from the employment of others.
Let’s have Constitutional taxes!
I agree. It’s not fair. But, we have allowed our government to create a catastrophe, and it must be the people who bail the government out. We have to pay that debt. We allowed it to happen, therefore we are responsible for it. Everyone must pay.
However, it would be the height of foolishness to allow such insanity to gain control of our government again.
We have to change the Republican leadership in Congress. It is they who defend our position in the government of the people. They have done a very pitiful job of that. We must fire them and hire someone else to do the job we hire them to do.
Paul Ryan should be the next Speaker of the House.
Society will change itself- or not- depending on the actions and desires of free people, living under equal protection of the law, with a limited government protecting their liberty and allowing economic freedom. Sort of like what our Constitution is supposed to do…
Seeking to change society to suit some individual or group idea of what society should look like requires tyrannical government- and even then, it doesn’t work.
I would denigrate the author of this article by pointing out his lack of knowledge of history. The Founding Fathers instituted Federal taxes as a way to pay Federal debts to foreign countries. This payment ability allowed the U.S. to garner AND retain high credit-worthiness when Federal borrowing was required.
Since Congress, as a majority, approved the excessive deficit spending of 2 wars, Congress, as a majority, should have no qualms with raising taxes (doesn’t have to be income taxes) to pay for the Congressionally approved spending.
But Congress had qualms and wouldn’t. So, we had a recession that the sitting presidents (both) spent money on slowing/stopping. More deficit, more need for revenue that Congress has so far refused to initiate.
So, I propose tossing out ALL preconceived notions of what is sacred (tell your congressman/woman to toss out all special interest groups before making any decisions) and then try to fairly reduce spending and fairly raise revenues.
(By the way, for anyone who is taking advantage of loopholes to reduce their tax burden, any closed loophole is a tax hike of a fixed or variable amount. If YOU don’t use loopholes, you won’t notice; I won’t notice, but my co-workers and neighbors will when their tax bill is higher.)
I can’t remember the Founders EVER talking about government being “fair”.
Well said DB Writer and Maggie, Lets take the next logical step how do you change society?
How could you possibly make being a spendthrift, living with less popular?
How do you make it courageous, heroic to stand on your own two feet?
We don’t need to change everyone just a share of the population.
I believe to some extent some of the next generation of 20 year olds who were teens when the crash hit will be affected, many lost houses and watched there parents drowning in debt. Some may not be as consumerized.
How did the hippie movement take hold of a whole generation, so quickly. The hippies were a rejection of societal norms of the 40-50′s, money, perfect house, perfect life.
How do we use this crash and the instability that it has caused in their lives.

I say, let the liberals hold onto their empty promises and allow the automatic spending cuts and tax increases happen. will it hurt? oh-ya, it will hurt. and in two years when house and senate seats are up, we the people take it back.
So our three key principles are
Fiscal Responsibility
Constitutionally Limited Government
Free Markets
I think Constitutionally limited government is the place to start the other two will naturally blossom if we push Federal Government back to it’s proper place and re-institute the States Sovereignty.
How do we get the message out that this actually frees you of responsibility to the Federal Government allowing you freedom to have local and state’s rights.
Locally we need to notice were the money is being spent that is ,unconstitutional federal money and show the strings that come attached to that money.
11/28/12 Ken Flagg
I am getting tiered of all this talk about revenues, those are taxes they are talking about and no spending cuts. If you cut all the spending, fraud, & waist then you get to talk about taxes.
They, Are the people we sent up there in 2010 and I want to know why they are in the back seat.
Speaker Boehner, please remember the Election that put you into power,
“Restoring America to Greatness” – A group dedicated to our country’s founding principles: limited and open federal government, low taxes, individual and states rights, security through energy independence and a strong military, and personal responsibility.
CUT~SPENDING SPENDING SPENDING~
the whole idea of putting people in different tax brackets baised on how much money you make is unconstitutional.
” The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;”
The word uniform means “: having always the same form, manner, or degree : not varying or variable
2: consistent in conduct or opinion
3: of the same form with others : conforming to one rule or mode ”
A flat tax would be constitutional. Where everyone pays the same percentage of their income is fair and yes that would mean that the wealthy top 2 percent would pay more taxes because they earn more. However thay would not pay a higher percent of taxes. That’s fair. I can’t pay millions in taxes because I don’t make millions of dollars. The top 2 percent can pay millions of dollars because they make millions of dollars. However the constant, uniform, standard is, they pay for example 10 percent, and I pay the same 10 percent. That’s fair and Constitutional. Now why can’t the Democrats and the GOP undersand that. Most of these guys are lawyers profession. I’m a law enforcement officer. We both had to study constitutional law, but the lawyers had to study it more than I did and I understand it. It so easy, the common citizen can read the Constitution in a half hour and understand it.
It is time to enact term limits on Congress. Why should they be allowed to basically serve for life when the President is limited to two elected terms? Members of Congress get elected and then over time start representing lobbyists and special interest groups instead of the constituents who elected them in the first place. They get to the point that the only time they think of their constituents is when it comes to be election time. Go to http://wh.gov/XDVe and read and sign the petition. Wake up America before it is too late. Raise your voices and be heard. We can do this and retake control of Congress and our government but we need to be united and stand up to the long term oppressors we currently have in Washington. Once again the website is http://wh.gov/XDVe for the petition.
Blue, get a grip. The language of the Tea Party is mild compared to those I have encountered that oppose the Tea Party. Your sensitive to strong opinion is silly. You lose credibility when you complain about minor language. One thing I have learned from working with very difficult low SES at risk teens is to stop responding to the language and listen to the message. If you want compromise go back to the rino’s. They are willing to roll over. The thing that I respect the most about the TEA party is that they are unwilling to compromise their beliefs. I am confident they will represent me no matter what. I do not want compromise on fiscal responsibility, the constitution, the Bill of Rights, the free market. I also don’t want my politics polluted with social and moral issues.
People should be scared. The reality of the world is, when you run out of money, you’re done. As for our government, there won’t be some other government to put our government on welfare when every country in the world refuses to loan us money to support our luxurious social programs designed to give everything to those who won’t do anything for themselves.
The actual situation is identical to the common household. The same rule applies. Lilsten closely. You may need to remember this if and when you ever discuss economics:
MONEY DOESN’T GROW ON TREES.
If our government were a household that had an annual income of 50,000 dollars, we would have a credit card debt of 332,000 dollars. Now, what idiot bank would loan that household any more money? Well, if the house is worth more than 332,000 dollars, there would be a bank to loan the money, but they’ll take the goddam house if the government defaults.
The same is true with governments. Nothing is for free. We are risking our existence when we borrow money.
This is insane.
And, our government refuses to budget itself.
This, too, is insane.
We need different leadership in Congress. Paul Ryan needs to be the next Speaker of the House.
Blue, you’re confusing the Tea Party movement with the “progressive” movement.
Well, blue, you’re a Marxist dupe. It’s a no-brainer you’re against me.
Well, I’ve got only one thing to say to those you ignorantly call “poor”.
THERE ARE NO POOR PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES.
If you want to see poor people, follow me around the world. I’ll show you real poor people, not the frauds here who somehow have enough money for drugs, booze, tatoos, designer sneakers and hoodies, guns, … and have the luxury of playing basketball at midnight and being idle all day.
By the way, if you see someone walking around with a cell phone, they are not poor.
GET A JOB.
If you can’t find a job, there are 30 million illegal aliens here. Take one of those jobs.
Your free ride on the so-called “Great Society” government gravy train is coming to an end. The reason? MONEY DOESN’T GROW ON TREES.
… get a job…. or starve.
Perhaps you can put some content into your post. Your rants are entertaining, but become boring.

blue; what country are you from? You’re definitely not american…at least not “born” in this country to american parents. Why don’t you go to MSNBC or the HuffPo and leave your progressive dribble? Better yet, get a clue about what this country represents and while certain religious nutjobs hate us, everyone else wants to be us. The problem we are having is the idiots that survived the 60′s to become progressive professors are now teaching our children. Unfortunately, we conservatives didn’t realize it until the children of the last 25 years have been brainwashed into believing the progressive b.s.. Less government is better for our freedom and liberty. Right now the progressive left is slowly but surely limiting our Bill of Rights granted by the US Constitution. Another history lesson for you, blue…the United States is one of the youngest countries in the world, yet we have the oldest surviving Constitution and do you know why? Because it gives us, or used to give us, the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness. Unfortunately, the way things are going those rights will be obsolete by 2016.
blue, I am beginning to think you have nothing to say. You are ranting the same thing over and over with no evidence to support your complaints. And your complaints are not relevant to the issues.
I want people to feed themselves. They are capable of it. They just won’t do it.
Well, it looks like they need some incentive to get off their government gravy train riding rear end. How about no food until you work?
If you can’t find a job, there are 30 MILLION illegal aliens here. Take one of those jobs.
Give a man a fish today and he’ll expect you to give him another one tomorrow.
Teach a man to fish and put him in the position of having to feed himself and he will go fishing to feed himself.
Period. End of statement.
