Probable Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman shirks responsibility
November 23, 2012 at 12:14 pm in News by Dustin Siggins 65 Comments

Nothing speaks to Tea Party Patriots like prominent members of the Republican and Democratic Parties shirking their responsibilities. Here is Exhibit A:
[Senator Patty] Murray [D-WA] said that an agreement to avoid the “fiscal cliff,” the looming $600 billion in tax increases and spending cuts set to strike in January, could preclude having to pass a Senate budget next year.
“I am committed to working with our committee and with our Congress to put a budget in place but there are a lot of questions in front of us: What happens in the next two weeks, six weeks, year? Does the White House and the leadership come together on some solution to the budget that we have right now that precludes a budget being written next year?” she said. “I have no idea.”
As of today, we’re at 1,301 days since the Senate passed a budget. This not only breaks federal law, but it also makes holding Congress accountable more difficult. After all, obfuscation is a powerful barrier between the average person and Washington, and it appears Senator Murray is willing to do what is necessary to make certain barrier does not come down.
1,301 days and counting. Senator Murray, we implore you and your colleagues to do your lawfully-required jobs and pass a budget. It would be the first, small step in reestablishing credibility with the American People.

No worries! We elected this sorry lot! I say let them have what they want so our country can start over from scratch. The 47% are just too ignorant about freedom to care as long as their “free stuff” is there in the mailbox each month. Tragic lot of sorry Ba$tar*ds.
Gee, if only there were more insane Tea Bag gers such as yourself. You goofballs are hilarious…please continue to post your funny rants…you’re all such lunatics!
btw, great job you and these other TP yahoos did in the elections…simply brilliant!
Let’s talk about policy, not just sound like middle school boys out at recess.
Better yet, lets talk about the reasons we created a national government in the first place, and about the things we told them we wanted them to do, and why we told them, and how we severely limited them in the means they should use to accomplish our objectives.
“Our” objectives being the objectives of the American People.
I suppose your mind is boggled at that bit of radical right wingery and foolish nonsense…
Wellllllll…you’re certainly an intellectual powerhouse! BTW-what have you got your hand out for?
At least we don`t vote like lunatics.
So Don, you are calling the 47%v bastards are ya? Well the next time you need a fireman, a policeman, an ambulance driver, a healthcare worker, a plumber, a carpenter, a lawyer, a doctor, a what ever just be careful to not call who ever you need to get your back a bastard. Or you might just screen whom ever shows up to help you while your need for help gets worse.
Or the next time you watch the NASA mars lander on TV you can call all those scientist who are a part of the 47% bastards too… you get my drift don’t you. If you don’t then I feel sorry for you.
“…fireman, a policeman, an ambulance driver, a healthcare worker, a plumber, a carpenter, a lawyer, a doctor….”
A fireman. I’m paying his salary and benefits. He should serve me first, then those getting a free ride if he has time serve those that don’t pay for his salary and benefits.
A policeman. I’m paying his salary and benefits. He should serve me first, then those getting a free ride if he has time serve those that don’t pay for his salary and benefits.
An ambulance driver. These aren’t government workers. But, I pay for their service. I don’t get it for free. From the money I pay them, they can continue to work. I also pay for those that use their services and don’t pay.
A healthcare worker. These aren’t government workers. But, I pay for their service. I don’t get it for free. From the money I pay them, they can continue to work. I also pay for those that use their services and don’t pay.
… teachers? I pay for them, too.
Basically, I pay for all of them. I pay the share that 47 percent should be paying, too.
That’s going to change for one simple reason: The so-called “rich” don’t haven enough money to pay for all of it, and contrary to the basis of the Democrats’ economic philosophy, money doesn’t grow on trees. That 47 percent getting everything for free now are goinog to have to start paying their fair share.
Yup, they’re going to have to start paying the Obama Tax. Or, the government fails and this country ceases to exist.
Don – be very careful who you call a tragic lot. Most of the Tea Party is the sector of the population collecting Social Security and Medi-Care. The 47% wanting “free stuff” in the mail. Have you ever been to a Tea Party Rally? I have on 9-12-11 in St. Louis Missouri.
Well said. The tea party are our parents. They’re the disgruntled baby boomers. They are benefitting from everyone’s tax money but they don’t want anyone else to benefit from it. I dont understand where this anger and selfishness is coming from.
The people collecting Social security paid into the system.
Kristene – Don’t you know the problem is that people get more than what they put in. Go check the biggest entitlement costs in the United States, Home Income Tax Credit, Social Security, Veterans Benefits, GI Bill, Child Care Tax Credit, SSI, etc… That’s my point most of the Tea Party is part of the “free stuff” sector of the population!
Armalite yes many are receiving more than they paid in. Had they kept their money and invested it as they see fit it could have grown and been part of their retirement. Social Security and Medi-Care are not comparable to welfare, food stamps, medicare and other entitlement programs The recipients of these have not paid anything in.
You don’t know that for sure. What would have happened in 2008 when the stock market crashed. Then all the old people would have demanded the govt bail them out. What about the Medi-Care RX Drug plan? No one paid into that… It was basically a give away to the seniors and drug companies so Bush could win a 2nd election in 2004. You also state welfare, food stamps and medicare (I assume you mean medicaid). We have medicaid so the hospitals don’t close down from the people without insurance. The remedy for that is to make sure everyone takes responsibility and has insurance. Obamacare is basically a Republican idea, but you probably don’t support that either. How do we deal with the people without insurance? Change the law so hospitals and medical professionals can turn away people who cannot pay? Also welfare and food stamps are tiny compared to the other programs. Are you willing to cut programs Social Security, MediCare and lose your home interest deduction and child credit?
Good Bye “Tea Party Patriots”. Hahaha.
Your money from whomever (Koch Brothers, etc.) meant *NOTHING* in the past election.
You have been co-opted by the right wing lunatics. Whatever the “Tea Party” used to be is dead.
You DO know that of that 47%– 43% is accounted for by Social Security and Medicare so that leaves just 4% actually getting welfare.. yeah we know all about freedom or should I say lack of freedom– what the hell do you people want– hear a lot of generalizations but no facts!!
Well put! All things free and government cheese have won and WE have lost. Thanks to all of those who sold US out for obamaphones and Free? healthare? No such thing as a free lunch but just try telling that to a liberal.
You, unfortunately will be right. There is not a way out of this spending spree. The government has done its job well, the dumb masses have there cell phones at no cost to them.
Talk about being insane MIKE. Look in a mirror some time. You will be shown to be the goofball that you are in a short two years. NOT brilliant!
The question in my mind , is the end-game. If I consistantly spend more than I am capable of producing, those who sell me stuff will want some form of collateral to insure they don’t get robbed.
To simply look at the american taxpayer as a money bin is rather simplistic-we expect that of those unfortunates who are incapable of free thought, however, the election past has proven that the combination of purchased loyalty, race-hate, fear, and deception is an effective tool to the quasi-elites.
Anyone care to tell them that the way to ruin a good cow is to overmilk the poor beastie?
What if they’ve decided to kill the cow?
continue to do what you always did, and you will continue to get what you always got. Team Obie has never reached out to the conservatives, and never will. house and senate races in two years. lets take congress back.
Just like the last two years of the first term where the Plutocrats vowed to sit on their hands in an attempt sabotage his presidency. I think their hands aren’t as clean as Fox News has told you to think.
Well I hate to be the barer of bad news, but we had the chance this election to take back congress and we did not. My fear is that we have to many people now getting the free stuff to ever get back the congress. And I don’t know about you all, but my history goes like this. Everytime I didn’t come up with a house hold budget for the year, I overspent and ended up with debt. But everytime I had a budget, we came out ahead with no debt. Congress is a reflection of the people. We’ve not had a budget to operate buy for quite some time. Coming to a CR agreement is not a budget. Coming to the agreement to cut spending equall to the dollar amount that we raised the debt limit is not a budget. A yearly report of what the Gov spent is not a budget. What the Federal Gov needs is to come up with an operating budget and stick to it. Can’t have that unless we have certain goals. Can’t come up with the goals unless both sides compromise. The way I see it, neither side has compromised and now we are in a mess. Here’s a thought, the Tea Party needs to come up with an operating budget and present it to congress. Then we might be able to accomplish something. I believe the system needs to be reset and we need to ditch the current polititians and replace them. We need to put people in place that have jobs they are concerned with. We need to go back to the way the system ran in the beginning and not pay congressmen fo the days they are not in session. That won’t happen until the American people get fed up with the way things are now.

I work with kids from low Social Economic families. You would not belive how many already plan on getting their “check”. Entitlement is a multigenerational trap. My family came out of poverty in my Dad’s generation. His dad was a tenant farmer. Why was he able to suceed without the government? Because remaining in that state was not an option for him. No hand outs back then. My dad dreamed big because life was difficult. He worked hard because he had no other choice. Kids that are living in poverty, but do not lack for Jordens and $80. jeans don’t have the kind of dreams my Dad did. They can’t a different way of life.
We need jobs and the biggest obstacles to jobs is Obama. With his reelection, he now knows that people don’t care about his poor performance– the jobless rate of 7.9% (23% when the long term discouraged are counted) or the 75% increase in gasoline due to his policies or the 59% increase in propane due to his policies or the 25% increase in electricity due to his policies.
Obama is the rebirth of FDR presiding over the Second Great Depression. Note that Obama got 5 million fewer votes in 2012 than 2008, the first time that has been done since…you guessed it…FDR.
They can’t envision a different way of life.
Not a blogger, came here to see what direction we are going in if there is a concerted effort to push the TEA (tax enough already- in case you forgot) Party partners and agenda in the Federal Government as it concerns the up coming fiscal cliff.
What I see on the blog here is not a coalition concerning the article.
I see the Dem ( enemy forces) folks in here harassing you in your own area (behind our own lines), creating , hate and dissension. In short they are harassing you and you are taking the bait. Debate, with these people ( not all people, just the ones that whole heartedly belong to the other side) is a waste of time and makes the Tea Party site seem like the ugly, hate mongering people they want you to sound like.
They, are directing your conversation.
This is a military tactic that wears down the enemy ( How much time was spent talking about the real article or were you fighting side battles), uses up resources ( energy and time keeping you from putting together and implementing a real plan)
They are trying to mold your image by starting these little wars with a blog that baits “anger” they try to control how you look to the outside world, who might pop in to catch a little bit of a topic.
I plan on ignoring them, press forward and use the site for what it is intended for.
If someone is here to learn, or to help then we stop and help educate and form a true coalition.
Obama submitted a budget to the Simpson-Bowles commission. Erskine Bowles said of this budget: “….I don’t think anyone took it seriously. It was defeated in the Senate 97-0″.
So Obama continues to propose radical left budgets and that is the only reason we are not getting a budget done.
I Congress can’t generate a budget, then let the fiscal cliff happen.
The Democrats actually plan for no budget. Every time Congress approves a temporary spending authorization, there are concessions agreed to by our woefully weak Republican leadership. Here’s an example:
To secure one year’s funding for defense, the Republicans gave to the Democrats the authority of the president to identify any US citizen within the boundaries of the United States at his whim, and order the standing Armed Forces of the United States to invade their home/privacy/whatever and seize them, to detain them without any charges filed until it is the whim of the president to release them.
This is so obviously unconstitutional, it should have caused the entire country (that is, the part of the country that still believes in the Constitution) to go into shock.
Americans have not been anyone’s subjects in two hundred and thirty two years. For just one year’s defense spending, the current Republican leadership negotiated that away.
Today, according to the law passed by Congress as part of this defense appropriatiouns bill, Americans are the subjects of the president as if he is a dictator, or some medieval lord and we are no more than peasant serfs bound to the land.
We need to change this. We need Republican leadership that won’t negotiate our actual freedom away.
We need to make Paul Ryan the next Speaker of the House.
If we do not change the Republican leadership, then we can expect no change to the situation where the current Republican leadership continues to give our freedom away, as the above case explicitly points out and is direct evidence.
The argument about SS is complicated. To receive SS retirement or SS disability, you must have worked a certain number of years, giving you ‘points’ that determine eligibility. SS taxes are shared by workers and employers via paycheck taxes. Legal citizens and legal immigrants with SS #s, work permits or tax IDs pay into the system. Many illegals with ‘stolen’ SS # also pay into the system. To receive a SS disability check, you have to have paid into the system and be disabled by SS standards. If you have no work record, you can apply for SSI, (SS Supplemental Income) paid out of the ‘general fund’, not SS budget, To receive SSI you have to be disabled in some way that meets the criteria. Most states qualify a person for Medicaid as soon as they qualify for SSD or SSI. Illegals who give birth to babies in the US, who then become citizens don’t personlly qualify for welfare programs, but the child who is a citizen does qualify for programs like food stamps, WIC, and medicaid. Just in my family, all citizens, I know of 3 people who are in the SSI or SSD system, and none are retirement age. One has been on disabilty for more than 25 years and doesn’t seem all that disabled to me. One is dying of a brain tumor and one has Schizophrenia.
The discussion has been made more complicated than it should be. It should be simple. If you didn’t pay into Social Security, you don’t get anything from Social Security.
Next, we have to make the government pay all the money back to Social Security it took from it, which is every dime ever collected. We have to stop paying Social Security out of the general fund and pay it out of the Social Security fund.
After we use go back to using the Social Security Insurance program only for Social Security Insurance benefits, then we can work on the fiscal stability of the system and balance pay out to income.
I think the government should also put back into Social Security all money it paid to people who didn’t pay into the system.
As long as the government is allowed to take every dime out of Social Security for every pipe dream it has and pay Social Security benefits out of the general fund, it will be impossible to make the Social Security program secure because the government cannot be trusted to keep it’s greedy, grubby hands off any stack of money that’s sitting still waiting for future disbursement.
What’s with “Your comment is awaiting moderation.”
When does “moderation” occur?
Are our ideas being censored?
Some posts don’t have to wait for “moderation”.
I have not been able to determine what the trigger is for “moderation.”
Does anyone here know what causes a post to be prevented from posting?
Blue since when is holding Congress accountable extreem? The Tea Party is the voice conservative voice of fiscal reason. Where do you see hate and anger? The Dems and the Rhinos would like for you to believe those things about the Tea Party.
Public education began in the states. Medicare and Social security were not designed to be welfare programs. Entitlement programs such as welfare are a multigenerational traps. “People who can not work is a loose interpretation. I have to many teens who tell me when they turn 18 they get their own $700. check. I have not found Tea Party Patriots to be mean or hateful. I have however found a lot of hate from both the Dems and Rhinos towards the Tea Party members. Most of which haven’t got a clue as to what the Tea Party promotes.
Always throwing the race card out there. When nothing racist has been said there’s the anger.
Blue, Dems is short for Democrats and Rhinos are Republicans in name only. Try not to make something out of nothing.
If it is not stated in the constitution that it is a fed controlled item then it is not. The states could work in a collective fashion but would be controlled by the states. The fed should not cost as much as the state governments do collectively. The fed should protect our borders.Only interstate highways should be funded by feds. The school system is not in part or in whole any part of the fed government. The fed has no constitutional bases for social security, medicare, medicaid. The fed is not a redistribution center. We do not serve the government, but we are today controlled by force of death if we do not relent to their demands. We do not serve the UN. We are individuals first and work for our own needs and should not look to others for there labor to serve us.
blue, if Republicans were obeying the Constitution, spending without borrowing and leaving free markets alone, Tea Party people would be supporting them.
The few Republicans who do follow our principles (the principles of our Republic I might add) do get Tea Party support.
Drag up the 2012 Republican Party Platform, read it through, subtract all the boilerplate and study the policies it lays out. They are European style social welfare policies. Why would the TP support that?
Craig – What exactly should the gov’t cut? All i hear is we need to stop giving out free stuff. What about Social Security, Medi-Care, public education and military spending? Most of the TP members are part of the 47%.
Armalite,
Nothing is free. Somebody always has to pay, either now, or in the future.
Social Security is a Ponzi scheme that has reached the end of it’s life. Medicare simply can’t continue- you can’t supply endless ever increasing benefits without also incurring ever increasing costs.Public education is a horrible failure for the students. Military spending, for the actual defense and protection of the U.S. is a necessary function of our national government. Being the worlds policeman is not.
Many of the 47% who aren’t paying income taxes to the national government (although they are paying plenty of other taxes and fees) are receiving S.S. and Medicare, which they were forced to participate in, even if they knew it was a Ponzi scheme that couldn’t last and the return on their “investment” would be negative, and rapidly decreasing. Others are students or the truly poor.
Rather than focus on them, we should be concerned about the 50% who are now receiving money from the government. Lets just focus on the redistribution of wealth in general- should the government be doing that? Are they authorized by the Constitution? Can they possibly make good decisions about who should receive wealth produced by others? What is the effect on a society that depends on political decisions for the distribution of wealth? What happens to an economy when it’s controlled by the political decisions of an elite?
Blue,
Education, and therefore literacy, was better in the U.S. before “progressives” sold us on the idea of public education. Anybody with half a brain knows that private education produces better outcomes for any students at far less cost.
Progress in science was, and can be again, funded by those who will make use of it (businesses) and also by philanthropists and foundations.
Those in need can once again be helped by mutual aid and friendly Societies, as they were in the past, as well as by Churches and charities, as they still are.
If the government would take it’s boot off the neck of our economy and allow people to keep what they earn, there wouldn’t be so many people in need.
I haven’t yet seen where you are trying to “reason” with us. Please do, if you can.
This is worth replying to:
“lets go back to no social security, medi-care or public ed, no literacy at all… no grants for science or aid to people who need it who cannot work… let the disabled have nothing…”
Here’s the reality. If we do not generate some fiscal responsibility in our government, all of this will go away, anyway. The reason is simple. Contrary to the economic philosophy the Democrats base their economic “plan” on, money doesn’t grow on trees. It is impossible to continuously spend more than you have and not collapse. There won’t be another government to put our government on welfare when our government defaults.
When the collapse comes, everything you mentioned will end.
The only way to preserve those services is for the government to develop some sense of fiscal responsibility, something we have not had since Obama took office.
We need strong leadership to lead us back to sanity. What the government has been doing the past 4 years will have only one possible outcome – collapse.
We need a budget. Only the TEA Party has a budget plan. Therefore, only the TEA Party can get our government off the suicidal road it is on.
The Republican leadership in Washington has been horribly weak. We need new leadership.
We need to make Paul Ryan the next Speaker of the House.
If we do not change, then we should expect no change.
And, wanting to re-instate the Constitution in our government is about as centrist as you can get. The only people that are threatened by the TEA Party are the extremists, and those who cave into their demands.
Private education can cherry pick the students, most do not have special education programs and are not equipped to educate all students. They also have much more parental involvement. Some charter schools like Kipp are taking low SES students and doing very well however they also have committed parents.
Well, yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that literacy was higher and children better educated before the government got involved in education.
Perhaps it reflects on the abdication of parental responsibility, which could be caused by the belief that “the government will take care of it for me.”
Lower
educational cost by getting rid of the department of education.
I agree Craig. I think education should be a state issue not the Federal Government. Get the federal government out of our schools, local control is less costly and I believe an more effective use of funds.
Blue, since 1860, we have had tremendous progress in science and technology, huge increases in efficiency and productivity, and experienced the massive increase in wealth that those advances (created and fostered almost entirely by free individuals working in free markets) have created.
Even in the 1800′s the U.S. had a large and efficient system of aid available to those in need. It consisted of programs created by a free civil society, programs like mutual aid societies, friendly societies, church charities and secular charities.
Just imagine, if the government wasn’t choking our economy and stealing a large percentage of the earnings of working people (and businesses), how much more would be available to fund all those efficient and effective private solutions for helping those in need?
Craig – the problem with SS and Medicare is that people get more than what they out in,
The biggest entitlement programs is the Home Deduction Tax Credit, Social Security, Medicare, Veterans Services, GI Bill, Child Tax Credit, and Medicaid. However, we cannot get rid of Medicaid because every single hospital in the nation would go out of business, We live in a modern a society and we help the sick among us.
Before we had Medicaid, we had mutual aid societies, friendly societies, churches and lots of private charities. They all helped the poor, without any coercion by the government, without creating unintended bad consequences and without creating huge expensive bureaucracies.
Government interference in our health insurance and health care markets, which started during WWII and has increased ever since, has created the problems we have today.
Pick a serious problem in the U.S.- health care, education, energy, banking and finance, the economy in general- what do they all have in common? The government has been interfering in the free market in these (and other “problem” areas) for a long time and to a great extent.
Now think of something that seems to be working pretty well, and notice that whatever you thought of is pretty much free of government control.
Craig Sickler – We have Medi-Care because the insurance companies refused to insure old people. The hospitals were going broke helping the sickest people who could not get insurance. In a business sense you can’t blame the insurance companies for refusing the sickest and oldest sector of the population who will require the most medical needs. It’s a free market.
I’ve been to Tea Party Rallies and have seen the overweight, smoking, eating fast food seniors living off the same entitlements they wish to destroy.
Blue, I think you totally missed the point. Entitlement programs are a failed system, it is a trap for the recipients. These programs need to be drastically cut. Sure name calling is a nasty business that pulls attention from the issues. People often vent frustration with mean comments. So what? If you insist on losing your focus on the issues because a word offends you, you reduce the effectiveness of your opinion.
The angry, name calling thing is a mainstream media creation that has no basis in fact.
DBWriter – Most of the people in the Tea Party collect Social Security, Medi-Care, Home Interest Tax Credit Deduction, Child Care Credit, GI Bill, Veterans Service, etc…
You are upsetting your base!
Really…. most of the TEA Party hasn’t retired yet.
And, that minority of TEA Party membership collecting Social Security actually paid into it and earned the benefits they are receiving.
But, you’ve mentioned something that is of concern. Let’s fix Social Security right here and now:
IF YOU DIDN’T PAY INTO SOCIAL SECURITY, YOU DON’T GET ANYTHING FROM SOCIAL SECURITY.
That will fix Social Security overnight. The problem with Social Security is the Democrats have hijacked it and turned it into a catch-all welfare program.
Now that we’ve fixed Social Security, what other problem do you have?
There is nothing wrong with our government that strong leadership cannot fix. We need to change the Speaker of the House. The Republican leadership has been woefully weak, and part of the problem.
Paul Ryan should be our next Speaker.
If the RINOs insist on keeping Boehner and continue selling out Americans and their freedom and helping the country and government toward self destruction, then we need to slug it out with them on the House floor.
If we do not change leadership, then there will be no change and the government will continue on the suicidal path its been on for the past 4 years.
Really? How can people collect SS benefits who have never paid into it? What about all the other things i wrote about? I forgot to mention the Medi-Care RX Drug plan. No one paid for that. It was a free give away to seniors and drug companies so Bush can get re-elected. What about the United States being on the brink of losing the Cold War as you stated in a previous post?
Well, just for one example, if you are an illegal alien woman and come here and have a baby and do not work, you can get a Social Security check without ever having paid into Social Security. For another example, if you want to claim disability, you can get on Social Security disability without ever having paid into Social Security.
The Democrats have turned Social Security into a catch-all welfare program. To fix it, we have to change it back to what it was before the Democrats opened it up to fund their so-called “Great Society” and began paying Social Security benefits out of the general fund, instead of paying for Social Security out of Social Security funds.
Let’s fix Social Security:
IF YOU DIDN’T PAY INTO SOCIAL SECURITY, YOU DON’T GET ANYTHING FROM SOCIAL SECURITY.
Now that we’ve fixed Social Security, what other problem do you have? I’m sure the same medicine will fix almost all of your problems.
Once again you are wrong DB with your incomplete facts and half truths! You need to pay into the system and work in a job qualified for SS benefits. However, most people receive more than they put in because people are living longer.
DB – Since you fixed Social Security. What about Medi-Care, Medi-Care RX Drug plan, Home interest tax credit deduction, GI Bill, Veteran Services, Child Care Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit entitlements?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2006/may/18/20060518-114132-2456r/?page=all
“The Senate voted yesterday to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment — even if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.”
Here’s a guide for any single mother to get paid from Social Security without ever having paid into Social Security:
http://www.ehow.com/list_5991013_social-security-benefits-young-mothers.html
If an illegal alien has a baby here, they can get a Social Security check.
Of course, this information wasn’t in your indoctrination session.
“Medi-Care, Medi-Care RX Drug plan, Home interest tax credit deduction, GI Bill, Veteran Services, Child Care Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit entitlements?”
Medicare – same solution. If you didn’t pay into Medicare, you don’t get anything from Medicare. You have to use Medicaid, and whatever funding is available to support it. Otherwise, you can not drop out of school, use the opportunities to get an education (and study something worth ashit) or train for a skill, GET A JOB, show up for work every day… on goddam time, do what you are paid to do when you are being paid, become dedicated to your career. If you do this, you will not be poor and you will retire with the benefits you have acrued… provided you didn’t waste everything you earned.
I am not responsible for another person’s choices. If they chose to remain uneducated and/or unemployed, that was their choice. I don’t owe them anything. If they don’t want to starve, join the rest of the country and GET A GODDAM JOB. If you wan’t to play basketball at midnight, you won’t be well cared for when you get old. Period. End of statement.
Home Interest Tax Credit – the debt is so huge now, that exemption has to go away. The government needs to do two things: ONE cut total spending; TWO raise taxes on every person in the country.
The Democrats plan to tax the so-called “rich” is a hippy pipe dream. The so-called “rich” don’t even have that much money. If their earnings were taxed at 100 percent and they were made destitute, it still wouldn’t be enough money to pay for the government the Democrats created. It’s a no-brainer everyone is going to have to pay more…. or, the government will collapse.
Everyone who voted for Obama to get a free ride is being taken for a ride. The “rich” don’t have enough money to pay for all the promises Obama made. That 47 percent that currently doesn’t pay any income taxes will have to start paying their fair share of the government they voted for.
They’re going to have to start paying the Obama tax… or the government collapses. That’s the reality, because, contrary to the Democrats’ economic philosophy, money doesn’t grow on trees.
Those are basic services that the fed government are to provide for the general welfare. Why don’t you read your constitution instead of trying to mix all of us up in the lines of people with their hands out.
Suzy, those that actually pay taxes aren’t getting a hand-out. They are getting what they PAID for. It is those that do not pay taxes that are getting a hand-out. And, the Obama government is directing all of their efforts toward increasing those hand-outs, without increasing their respective contributions to the pool of assets being redistributed.
Marxism in spades….
