Overregulated
November 8, 2012 at 7:40 pm in Blog, News by Tea Party Patriots 102 Comments

With Tuesday’s election, it can be expected that the economy will continue to struggle to grow. One of the reasons for this is the onerous regulations being put on the American economy.
The anecdotes for how regulations hurt small businesses are numerous – employer mandates for health coverage, for example, give big businesses that can afford the coverage a huge advantage – but the statistics are even more devastating. A November 4th column on regulations provides one devastating statistic. According to the report major regulations, those costing $100 million or more, were put into place under President Obama at a rate between one-fourth more to four times as much (depending on which organization you listen to) as President Bush instituted in a similar time period.
In September, I did another blog post on regulations, using a Competitive Enterprise Institute study on their economic impact. According to the study, regulations are equivalent to 11.69% of our economy. That’s atrocious, and devastating to economic growth.
What can be done? While many of these regulations would ideally be eliminated, perhaps along with their overseeing agencies, this is not going to happen. What can be done is for the House to add amendments to all spending bills that would cut off any future regulatory authority, and perhaps overturn recent regulations, such as those from the EPA regarding coal. This would force those who want to overregulate our economy to either go without a budget – which they’ve done for several years anyway – or back off on regulations in addition to actually passing a budget.

Maybe you didn’t notice but the President won reelection 332-206. Your guy lost big time. That’s called a madate for the President. He gets to call the shots pretty much his way.
If Mittens had won he’d get to call the shots pretty much his way…but he didn’t.
maybe you didn’t notice but the popular vote was 51% to 49%
George W. Bush 50.73% John Kerry 48.27%
George W. Bush 47.87% Albert Gore Jr. 48.38%
so guess bush never had a mandate either?
Of the eligible American electorate, Obama won 29%.
Ahhh, fun with math. 57.5% of registered voters actually got out there to vote and Obama won 50.53% of those votes. This should be large enough of a representation to assume at full participation would produce the same outcome, similar to smaller sized surveys producing results to represent the whole.
The Tea Party needs to be on the Electorial college to change the vote to Romney!! This elcection was stolen.
The election was stolen, huh? Could you tell me which voice of the many in your head told you this?
Betcha before the election you were one of those boobs who KNEW Mittens was gonna win because you saw a lot of Romney yard signs. Isn’t that right?
Still in denial? Well, you think of all the excuses and alibis on why Mittens got his butt kicked but here’s the REAL reason: the American voter thought your candidates and your policies were odious.
The election was stolen? Ha ha ha….get over it teabaggers, your facist beliefs are not for this country!
Are you living off the system? Those are the ones that voted for him!
Actually, the biggest mouths on the government teet are the red states, so no. You are incorrect sir.
MIKEHUNT3-MANDATE IS SPELLED MANDATE, NOT MADATE. IS HUSSEIN OBAMA PRESIDENT OR DICTATOR, OR DON’T YOU CARE 1 WAY OR THE OTHER
He’s our President…did you miss what happened on Tuesday?
When half a nation whens a fight, it doesn’t give it the right to silence the other half. Now is the time we must become even more active in all levels of protest. I’m going to use Obama’s own website against him, by starting a petition. http://wh.gov/9vd8
Here’s some more information about this petition:
All government programs must be fully funded, and may not run based on a ponzi scheme.
All of us need to flood the government at all levels. And the liberals have taken over the news. It is time we throw them out of business and took over the job for ourselves. Why should they control it?
Just new here and don’t know much about this whole internet deal but since this is the Tea Party place, I want to say Keep up the fight for business and a free economy. I’m not a a political guy but I run an upholstery business and have for many years so I dont’ want to be taxed to death and I’ll pay for my medical- Thanks, i liked Mit because he was right about the 47%. My own kids are lazy complainers and think it;s free ride but that isn;t the America that should be here. I got three people who work for me and there is one things though I think you should change, and my wife doesn’t agree and we are both church going people. But I have come to see that gay people are good workers in some cases. My nephew works for me and the kid is the best worker I have and now his partner is there and my job is easy. I always knew he was that way and my wife says that God didn;t mean it but I told him up front that I knew since he was three on account of his love for barbie that he was queer as a three dollar bill…but anyway I now think we should lay off that stuff and focus on getting this great country back in business no matter who the workers are. Let them be to marry who they want and let us be to do out business. My wife would hate me for this but my own kids have let me down. God Bless.
Those are the electoral votes, and do not reflect the popular votes. Facts are starting to come out regarding the election having been stolen. Philadelphia, for example, a large city with 59 districts, had not a single vote for Romney. Hmmmm, and this is the first time they used computerized (hackable) machines. Hmmmm..
Poll workers have been calling radio shows detailing the evidence they witnessed of voter fraud: people walked in, looked at the rosters, signed their names and their signatures didn’t remotely match the signatures in the book; they were not required to show positive photo IDs. They told their supervisors and were in turn told to mind their business.
This is totally unacceptable in this country. What are we tea party patriots going to do about it?
Yes. There’s a lot of misinformation out there. For too long, too many hard working Americans paid the price for policies that handed free rein to insurance companies. President Obama’s health reform law gives hard working families the security they deserve. The Affordable Care Act holds insurance companies accountable, lowers health care costs, gives Americans more freedom and control in their health care choices and improves the quality of care.
The only thing that will get their attention is for the people paying the bills is to call for a 3 day shutdown of all small business co’s if this attack on us is continued. I’ m tired off all the talk! We shut the trucks down in the 70′s for two weeks, I was part of it and they listened!its time again to let them know we’re not giving the bums anymore! Tell them clearly gimme died now get a job!!!
As long as the government is allowed to claim a Constitutional power to control the economy through the Commerce clause, and a justification to do so for the general Welfare, they WILL regulate (control) the economy.
You can’t give anyone that much power and expect them to not use it. When the power provides sure opportunities to enrich yourself and your friends, you can’t expect it to be used wisely.
Yet, in your grand analysis you forget that many, many regulations/mandates for buisness is WHAT ALLOWS/CREATES a middle class. Well that and unions. The only leg left that the TP has to stand on might be the economic one …however, the economy, by all economist standards will be back on track as soon as mid 2014-early 2015 at latest. So, guess what? That means is 2016, the Dem candidate(most likely hilary) will be a shoe in simply because the dems will the credit, and why would the public want to end a solid roll? Basically, in the history of politics, the ONE election that was ultimately a deciding factor for the conservative movement in the US (21century) was the 2012 elections…and by all practical standards your ilk blew it big time….CA has near declared a SUPER-MAJORITY of Dem’s across the board (hasnt happened in OVER 100 years)….DOES THAT SEND A MESSAGE TO THE TP/NEOCON/ULTRA-CONSERVATIVE movement (now 100% failed)? It should.
Guess what? There’s a lot of misinformation out there. For too long, too many hard working Americans paid the price for policies that handed free rein to insurance companies. President Obama’s health reform law gives hard working families the security they deserve. The Affordable Care Act holds insurance companies accountable, lowers health care costs, gives Americans more freedom and control in their health care choices and improves the quality of care.
mikehunt3 – all because Obama won does not mean he was given a “mandate’. Far from it. He did not win the House nor did he win a majority of the states. He won 4 more years. Basically he was given a mulligan and a do-over. He got a second chance to govern. His “mandate” was rejected in the 2010 elections when he lost his democrat super majority that he was given in 2008. The American People wanted his radicalism to be checked and balanced and that is what they still want.
That’s why you Tea Party kooks are so profoundly ignorant. I hope all the TP boobs share your laughable thoughts…you’ll get the same drubbing next time as last Tuesday.
Please continue to stay crazy!
ps…here’s an example of your idiocy—the President won 26 states plus the District of Columbia…that sure looks like a majority of the states to me.
You’re an idiot! Plain and simple.
Nope. Obama said there are 57 states. He would have had to win 29 states to have the majority of them.
Actually Obama said he had been to 57 states and had one more to go. Evidently he thinks there are 58 states.
You obviously don’t understand the electoral college or how it works, and I’m too tired to explain it to you. Look it up. It’s actually possible for a candidate to lose the popular vote but still win the electoral votes and be the next president.
Duh. I was just correcting your Tea Party pal who said the President didn’t win a majority of the states.
Yes, George W. Bush won the electorial college vote in 2000 while Gore won the popular vote.
You “progressives” are always talking big talk about the “will of the majority” and “democracy”- how can you pretend that having 29% of the American electorate choosing Obama as a mandate from the people?
71% of the people DIDN’T choose Obama!
Just curious but which planet are you transmitting from? The President won 51% of the popular vote.
And it’s sooo ironic…it’s you lunatics who want to eliminate the Department of Education.
Stay crazy!
There are 207,643,000 people eligible to vote in this country.
Obama got 60,662,000 votes.
That’s 29% of the electorate.
There are reasons that so many people didn’t bother to register or to vote.
Romney was a big one.
The fact that the “choice” between Obama and Romney wasn’t really a choice is another.
The bottom line is still that only 29% of the American electorate wanted Obama as President.
Hey little craigy, you have to be certifiably insane…really! Only you Tea Party whack jobs could think that 29% crap up. Glad the other side has you…please tell me they’re gonna keep you!
This third rate web site is like goibg to the circus and I have a front row seat to the clown show. And little craigy, looks like you are the Top Clown!
To all of you who are replying to mikehunt3: Why? This is a Tea Party blog and he’s obviously here to disrupt and mock, so why do you engage him? Treat him like you obnoxious little brother and ignore him.
Hey kooky, What? I can’t feed the animals? Please, please, keep posting. You’re hilarious!
Well, you know….
You guys ought to start listening to the intelligent and sincere people who are interested in small government. Your Levins and your Becks are gonna lead you right to the slaughterhouse–and are doing exactly that, if you haven’t noticed.
You all might want to look into fighting Obamacare and the rest of the idiocy at the state level. There are some geniuses mapping out how this can be done.

why do all these trolls have to post? Don’t they have their own message boards?
How about an information campaign – Many people don’t understand what conservatism means. Since they don’t understand, those with the loudest voice are able to feed those people disinformation essentially unchallenged.
We could do a printed campaign on business card sized material and 3 x 5 cards that carried a simple statement of foundation principle or principles in a pithy and easy to digest presentation. These cards can be left or posted on bulletin boards everywhere we normally visit. These printed comments will outlast the blather of the liberal opposition.
We can print the cards on our own printers or possibly pay to have it done in a print shop. I’ve donated more to candidates causes and have less to show for it!
John, I agree with you. I have some younger friends who are Democrats and voted for Obama that I would really like to reach. Conservatives need a good way to reach out to the cities and universities, where most confused Democrats are thriving, and I don’t mean more Republican Clubs!
I think social media is the answer. Obama won in 2008 largely because of his Facebook following, and he had another four years to develop his FB lists even further. He beat us out not because he’s right, but rather by getting his loyal following to the polls. It turns out that Mitt Romney got fewer total votes than did John McCain in 2008, which is a sad statement on conservatives’ ability to motivate voters. In general, those who are down and out seem to think that successful people must somehow have stolen their prosperity from them. Rather than badger Democrats and other confused groups, we need to be going into the cities where they are and having an intelligent discourse with them.
Our obnoxious friend, Mike Hunt 3, needs us to reach out to him and bring him into the fold. He’s still a human being and can be reached.
Hey, Mike, wanna grab a cup of coffee somewhere?
“Conservatives need a good way to reach out to the cities and universities…” We had a good way — Ron Paul. He regular drew crowds upwards of 10,000 at university venues, as late as the end of August. Young people want freedom, both financial and personal. They tend not to respond well to social conservatives, and that’s the reason they tend to vote for Democrats.
I’m a Progressive and I am not in the least bit “confused” nor do I know any others that are. Your dismissive smugness is offensives and you don’t further your cause by being so. You must know the TP just doesn’t have the numbers to substantially change anything … so what’s your plan to become relevant? What I see on this site is a LOT of whining … where is that patriotic American individualism and self-reliance
I quick look at exit polling with show that in 2012, as in 2008, the MAJORITY of the highest educated Americans voted Democratic.
But I’m sure this post is useless to you since it deals with reality – not the parallel universe the TP lives in.
For sure but…..
We come here for the laughs…you idiots are hilarious.
btw, great campaigns your Tea Party people ran…simply brillant!
Your reply illustrates my point. You contributed nothing to the discussion point and you’ve attempted to ridicule and insult instead. Your comments would be ineffective against a form of pamphleteering represented by small cards showered on the landscape.
Could I get a translator over here? I have no idea what this loon is talking about…but that’s ok, he doesn’t either…
I can see why you would need some cheering up, nothing but deadly serious things on the “progressive” front. Literally, deadly.
Do you suppose your policies will end up producing famine in the U.S.? They have everywhere else they’ve been implemented.
Need cheering up? Maybe you didn’t notice but last Tuesday the Dems kicked your butt! I’M ELATED!!
Famine? I’m part of Mitt’s 1%…like he said, we don’t worry about you 47%…
It’s true. I hate to admit it but when i’m bored at work, i check your website to get a quick laugh. Megan Kelly Fox News anchor to your beloved Karl Rove, “Is this just math that you do as a Republican to make you feel better or is this real?” When Fox News called Ohio for Obama.
Because that’s ll the Liberals know how to do – is be nasty.
Yeah like that librul Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a slut…
How about if we all agreed not to spend a dime for a week? Live on the groceries you have in the house, (we all have extra canned and frozen stuff that we could make do with) gas up before the week starts (make an exception for more gas if absolutely necessary) Don’t touch your amazon account, don’t buy an i-tune, don’t go to the mall, no fast food. It would at least demonstrate how many of us there are.
How about if we all agreed to just buy American made products only for 1 year? It is possible, not easy, but can be done and that would get the economy going better no? What if we all agree to disagree with each other and support products designed, manufactured, and put together in America? Wouldn’t that help our economy?
This is an absurd idea. You have to address the regulations on American industry, wages, etc. There is so little manufacturing here, thanks to government management of business, that it is completely unrealistic to buy exclusively American.
…shows a complete ignorance of economics.
I agree with Jody and American, except make.it two weeks. Realistically, we might need one extra gas stop. But it is do able, Ive been having to do it already. And buy American goods when we return to the market. That will b difficult, but just because its new and a learning experience. The 50 percent really want to ridicule us, tell us to get with the.program. no! I’ve been doing that for forty yrs. It’s time to wake up and say I am worth more than allowing this country to fall. I just haven’t paid attention. The 50 percent want us to be blind, so that we continue to comply with this sort of slavery. They need our talents and especially, our pocketbooks. I am now saying, “No!”
These kinds of protests are ultimately ineffective. They’re difficult if not impossible to organize and implement. If it did take place, and actually threatened any establishment agenda, it would simply get dropped down the memory hole by the controlled media–including Fox News. At best you might see some politicians or pundits trying to jump in front of the parade and take credit for and pervert your message.
Which is what, in point of fact, they have done with the entire Tea Party movement.
If you guys want to turn back government growth and impact the system, you all better start thinking really hard about the so-called liberty movement. You sat on your hands while the millions-strong, diverse, well-educated Ron Paul constituency was railroaded out of the Republican primaries, and this is where you are now…..Contemplating not buying groceries.
Why doesn’t the tea party do something positive for a change. Volunteer time for causes not related to politics. Try to show that this group is a true representation of America instead of a bunch of angry white people.
Or what if we went on a “personal spending freeze” we would all agree to slash our spending for the rest of the year. We would spend as little as possible, including slashing our christmas spending, except where you know of individual merchants you choose to support. We could also choose which retailers to support, like the villified walmartPlaces like target could read it and weep.
Do like all, approach a reality show about how small business, farms, and everyday working class have lost it all. It will get some ratings
Important to keep in mind: There’s a lot of misinformation out there.
In the Netherlands opposite parties are always willing to make a compromis. The name for this is poldermodel. Not using big words but being pragmatic is the slogan. What can we both do to make the situation (read: economy and quality of life) better. That’s why we are in the top 5 of countries where the people are most happy.
If the principle at issue is socialism, to compromise is simply to give in. Just like if you’re against beating children, you aren’t compromising by beating them 40 percent less, you’re abandoning your principle entirely when you beat them once.
The country is divided, very distinctly, and compromise is an idiotic suggestion.
After several generations of public education and our intellectuals being produced by state-funded universities, more than half of Americans are thoroughly brainwashed Marxists. A good portion of the rest, unfortunately, have been brainwashed into a type of Marxism called neoconservatism. Inasmuch as the Tea Party embraces markets and rejects government controls, it is a threat to neoconservative Marxism as well as traditional left-wing Marxism.
That’s why the Fox News team took over and destroyed the Tea Party, got these poor people peeing their pants about Muslims and voting for a joker like Romney. But I digress.
That’s very interesting. Please explain what you feel constitutes socialism? The word socialism gets thrown around so much but do you know what it really means? A socialist economic system would consist of a system of production and distribution organized to directly satisfy economic demands and human needs, so that goods and services would be produced directly for use instead of for private profit driven by the accumulation of capital. Accounting would be based on physical quantities, a common physical magnitude, or a direct measure of labour-time in place of financial calculation. I don’t know about you but I just spent $60 for a video game for my kid, I just spent $30K for my wife to own a Volvo, and I just spent $300 so I can own an iPhone 5. No we do not live in a socialist country. We have always and will always be a capitalist country.
I’m using “socialism” as a generic term to mean the notion that people must submit to the daydreams of government “experts.”
But specifically as an economic theory, socialism is laughable. It assumes that a few supposed experts can calculate as well as millions, or billion, of individuals making decisions about resources ONE PERSON AT A TIME, BASED ON COUNTLESS MINUTE CALCULATIONS–until averages emerge. Those averages, when they emerge, and in whatever forms they take, represent the collective genius of free people responding to healthy incentives….The idea that a few well-intentioned university buffoons with some supposed special knowledge can do better than this is the cause of all large-scale economic problems.
It’s called “the socialist calculation problem.” Read up on it. One bad economic calculation imposed by force on a population by “experts” will amount to more misery than can be easily measured.
And that’s just from stupidity. Factor in corruption, and you see why socialism ends in catastrophe everywhere…catastrophe, that is, for regular people….It’s great for tyrants and lowlifes.
Here’s a novel.idea for you “Patriots.” Support your President and your country for a change. You should all be hanging your heads in shame at your petulant, childish tantrums. None of you have a clue about what it takes to govern this nation.
Your comment is an example of what’s wrong with…pretty much everything. You’re conditioned into socialism and collectivism, so you look to government and this mystical entity called a “nation” to get things done. In fact, individuals responding to the incentives created when government gets out of the way are what solves all problems and makes for all progress. Government just steals the talent and energy of free people and puts it to use taking those same people’s rights–and then takes credit for whatever good might be accidentally generated by the process.
So people like you would have no government whatsoever……no military, no safe food, no agency keeping us.healthy with vaccinations, no.regulation of.our air space, no highways that we ALL.use, no disaster response, no development of technology like the internet that we ALL use, no national parks…… We ARE a nation united as.one and to say anything different borders on treason.
Might serve you to look around and look at what is being accomplished by the military and the rest of the federal controls put in place to “help” us. People are less healthy than they’ve ever been and the military-industrial complex–industry and individuals who have an economic interest in the US being an empire–ensures that we are creating ever more war. They lose control, after all, when death and destruction is reduced.
Yes, most nations, historically, are nations. But the US, if you study your history, you will discover was supposed to be a safe haven for FREE INDIVIDUALS. It’s very confusing after your public education experience, I know.
Once you get your brain around that idea. Go study markets at the Ludwig Von Mises Institute (free online). You will see that all the things you imagine could only be produced by bureaucrats, can and have been produced, far more efficiently, by private parties operating without economic controls.
Treason? I think you mean blasphemy. Worship of flags, presidents, etc., is just another form of mysticism. Again, the value of the US was, originally, that it did not elevate the government to the status of deity. This is what set us apart, historically. People like yourself are taking us directly back to the dark ages.
@John. So from what you’ve said thus far you want to dissolve the Union and put in its place anarchy.
FYI…..I was educated.at a combination of public and private schools and have degrees in both computer science and management, as well as.commercial certifications in.forensics. I have to chuckle.at the “back to the dark ages” statement……with the likes of Paul Broun, Todd Akin and Murdoch ….surely you jest. As long as you.continue to support hacks like these, the Tea Party will.continue to become irrevalent. I agree that we have become too involved in international battles that we have no place.in and cannot win. Citizens United was a horrible decision that gave corporations, big oil, and military vendors too much power. Until there is true campaign.finance reform.and until big money is OUT of politics, we the people.will.continue to be pawns. However differences of opinion.and compromise are essential in a civil society.and until people return to that we will continue to be divided.
@I-love-my-country You seem awfully ignorant to me, with your false dichotomy, assuming that if I don’t support liberal-style Marxism, that I must support the characters you name.
Government, as a system of organization, will fail–at least as far as the possibilities for it improving average quality of life for regular people. It allows unlimited opportunity for lowlifes to gain power and wealth, and so it becomes the favorite hangout and tool for lowlifes.
This is how it goes. Same way it always has since earliest civilization. Now, either we move away from government controls, or we continue to descend into the dark ages. We’re in a pretty bad place now, you just don’t realize it because the US has–through a violence-protected monopoly–the world’s reserve currency. So we can continue to live relatively well while producing nothing…..and also, you’re able to overlook what our empire does because they don’t show the bodies on TV.
We’d just like to go back to what we had before the “progressive” era, i.e. a limited government and a vibrant, prosperous, growing civil society of free people who took care of themselves and each other.
“Progressives” haven’t managed to erase that history, yet, even though they like to pretend it never existed.
This is very important to keep in mind: There’s a lot of misinformation out there.
I know! It takes a Constitution that grants certain limited powers to the government. Then it takes people elected to serve in government who are willing to follow the law, all of the law, right up to the Constitution.
Why would anyone who cares about our country support a government (or a President) that is operating almost wholly outside the law?
Again you so called “patriots” do not have a monopoly on love of country. I don’t see any of you paying the hospital.bills.of children who have been denied insurance and care. Societies change.and with that.change people have to change. The Founding Fathers said that the Constitution should be reviewed every nine years (more frequently if needed) and change to meet the needs of a changing society. As for the “outside the law” bit, those of you who are still unhappy and petulant that the majority in this nation is changing need to go bark up another tree. You should know by now that your hate filled.rhetoric is getting you nowhere and again you are increasingly irrevalent. You are all afraid…..that is what it all boils down to…..afraid of change.
And you “patriots” do not have a monopoly on personal responsibility. You assume anyone who disagrees with you is a socialist. You have no capacity for understanding differing views, societies, and cultures. In the end this will be your demise.
@Qupuq
Unfortunately the word “compromise” equals a four letter curse word to most of the “Tea Party” patriots. But I agree completely that is what is needed. Politics in America used to be a civil affair with both constituents and legislators willing to work together. But sadly now it is controlled by big money (thanks to Supreme Court) who panders to those willing to take the country down a bleak path in order to push their agenda. In other words there is simply no desire or willingness to compromise and we will reap.what we sow as a country.
Yes, and part of “loving your country” will invariably involve keep this concept in mind: There’s a lot of misinformation out there.

I have to agree with some of your statements regarding the candidates the TEA party has chosen to support. As I have posted on other threads, TEA party people need to read the mission statement, it’s very simple. Fiscal responsibility, limited government, free enterprise. Let go of all the social issues. Telling other people how they should live their own lives is a sure way to loose support. I have supported this movement since it’s inception, and have been very distressed to see so much ranting and raving about these social issues. Get a clue folks, people will do what they want to do, preaching at them is conterproductive, it just chases them away.
@Biggyrat…….you get it.
*irrelevant
ILMC… I read several of your posts, and would suggest you tone down the arrogance a notch. A little friendly advice.
It’s easy to fall victim to popular views as portrayed in the media. The Tea Party has been under attack since its inception, and most of the views were designed and created, and not necessarily reality. The Tea Party also had a fair amount of hi-jacking going on, mainly from the extreme right Christian Fundamentalists. It’s obvious to see how and why, because as a conservative body it drew conservatives, and repelled liberals. I think the message became so distorted, that basics of fiscal conservatism got tangled in social conservatism. When that happened, the lines blurred, it we became an extension of the Republican Party. They keep their distance to some extent though, but use us when they need votes. My humble opinion of course.
However, the basic fundamentals of the Tea Party are solid, and pure in intention. Keep in mind though, the Tea Party is a grass roots movement, and about as American as one can be. I would equate it to a modern day version of the Patriots from the founding of this country.
Rather than come here to belittle and degrade passionate Americans, it would be far more constructive to join, and help shape the ideology of the movement. After all, we’re all in the same boat when it comes right down to it. Our government officials are robbing us blind, and doing what they think is best for us, while not really participating in the same things they determine are best for us. Take healthcare for instance. Are they on the same plan? How many exemptions did they allow in the name of political favors? What about voting in your own pay raises? What about special interest group and PAC, which really control our elected officials like puppets.
The point is, I agree with you on many levels. The Tea Party needs to evolve into a non-bias, non-religious movement, who’s primary mission is to hold our elected officials accountable. They we do that is in the vote. It is the power of the vote that makes the Patriots a significant force.
I know you will disagree, but Obama should have never been elected twice, like Bush should have never been elected twice. How many broken campaign promises does it take to eject an official? How many times are we going to listen to it’s the other guys fault? Seriously. No one forces these guys into office, and if they don’t understand the potential magnitude of the problems they may or may not face when they take office, then they aren’t fit to lead. It’s not Bush’s fault, it’s everyone in congress’s fault, and these guys know that going into it. We Americans are asleep at the wheel, and fighting amongst ourselves. We made a mistake rehiring Obama. Stack resume against resume in any job situation, and Obama wouldn’t even get an interview. He’s a career politician, and Romney built a career. I’m not whining about it, I’m just stating the facts. Now we have to deal with our decision from the voting booth. We have more of the same as we’ve had for the past 12 years.
People like Akin and Mourdock should be ejected from the Tea Party. We should not support socially deficient candidates. Their social views are meaningless useless information, and so far into the minority viewpoint of the pulse of this nation it’s pathetic. If you want my opinion, they are the reason Romney lost this election. Not just them entirely though, because it’s the underlying projection from the republican party. We are not a Christian nation, we are an American nation. That the message that needs to be driven home in the Tea Party. The Tea Party though, was hi-jacked by the wanna be candidates who needed votes. We gave that to them, but what they do with it is up to them. Unfortunately, we are somewhat attached to them right now, but that does need to change. We need to be entirely independent, stay away from social issues, and focus on financial ones.
” One of the reasons for this is the onerous regulations being put on the American economy.”
Odd. This is EXACTLY what the Koch brothers say. Coincidence?
I see there are lots of opposing views on here today. It seems most of the left-leaning comments are more troll like than debate points.
I don’t believe the government should have the right to require me to sacrifice.
I think that sacrifice of ones life and effort for the benefit of others is something that should be a choice not a requirement. I believe we should first take care of ourselves and then, if we can and feel the desire, take care of others.
I wonder, of the people who have supported these big regulation types, how many are actually in a position to be required to sacrifice. I also wonder how many like the idea because it allows them to underachieve on the backs of those who at least meet self-sufficiency. Self sufficiency is the only level one must meet to be required to forfeit their time and effort. The trap is set.
Regulation only truly benefits those who have so much holdings that it is only a pittance to meet these demands. Those who, when the culmination of the regulations result in worldwide financial collapse, have so many holdings that they emerge unscathed. Those same regulations enslave those who have been taught to rely upon them for security and cannot survive without them. Everyone else simply bows down to them out of an ill placed guilt brought on by learned principles that directly contradict our natural being. They too will be without means.
That is as left as I can go in the explanation of why the Democratic Party agenda, as it always has been, is bad for the freedom of all people and good for a new world order where the very few and the very powerful control all assets and therefore the rest of mankind.
Good plan huh?
You know, I, and the other 61,000,000 Americans that voted for Obama last Tuesday have listened to and rolled our eyes through this type of commentary for three long years. We’ve been called socialists, communists, even supporters of the anti-christ.
Enuf already.
But ya know, it was all worth it to see Karl Rowe scrambling like Daffy Duck on Fox when they announced Ohio, sweetened significantly with Maygn Kelly’s observation of the moment
‘…..awkwaaaaard…..’
I have no sympathy for any of you. You had your chance. You owned the halftime election – but what did yo do with it? Jobs jobs jobs became vaginas vaginas, vaginas… and we remembered that.
A year alter, what did you bring to the table? A guy who was thrown out of his house majority seat by his own party and said he was going to build moon colony in eight years. Another who hated gay people and wanted to de-fund State universities because it ‘bred democrats’, a woman who is baaaaat-shite crazy and says she talks to God on key legislative decisions as a means to wash herself from all responsibility and is trying to summons up the second McCarthy era. Lastly, the guy YOU all SELECTED through the primary process – the car industry silver spoon fed haute-taut who suggested the industry that gave him that wealth should go bankrupt and flipped more times than a chick-fil-A burger on an Alabama grill. And then there’s Jenny Beth saying the reason you got hammered was your guy wasn’t to the right enough. Well, I personally disagree with that, completely as do 61 million other Americans, but very glad she feels that way and hope you all LISTEN TO HER as you will remain unelectable.
But through it all, remember who shoved Mitt Romney down our throats. It wasn’t the beltway elites, it was the delegates of YOUR PRIMARY. Suck it up,
Here’s something you should be spending your time on….the fiscal cliff that is about to tank every one of you. And, oh by the way, we have the Tea Party to thank for this……because of your stupidity in not wanting to raise the debt ceiling, which has been done by every President since the 50′s and is in itself an arbitrary numbe that you don’t even understand. You get so hung up on the symbolic, you don’t even see the train about to mow you down. Each of you should urge your representative to work WITH the other side in forging a compromise that will avoid the fiscal cliff, which WILL mean the end of our country.
So far at least 20 states have active petitions to secede from the USA. You can view and sign all of them at:

ILMC – Negotiation only works when both parties are willing to negotiate. The problem I see is that the democrats idea of negotiating only works if everyone agrees with their arguments. The American people eat it up, because they get to crucify the wealthy. The top 1% though, contributes 40% of the tax revenue, and the top 10% contributes 70% of the tax revenue. The democrats did a stellar job in manipulating public opinion, and that’s about it, because increasing the tax rate on the 10% that are already carrying the load certainly doesn’t constitute fair. Fair is a flat 15% tax honestly, with no loop holes. Essentially, democrats are demanding that 10% of the population carry 100% of the financial crisis. That’s not fair, and everyone in this country deserves representation, including the 10%.
Personally, I say let if go over the cliff, and be done with it. That’s about the only fair way to handle it. Forced tax increases across the board. Major spending cuts, and a balanced budget. Drastic times call for drastic measures.
the angry racially weighted tone of many in the tea party really hurts the message which is a good one. you get more with honey than vitriol. many here seem to prefer being angry over really succeeding.
these folks need to go
Help Support America’s Free Market. started new Facebook page, “Free Market Businesses”. a place to list (name and contact info), rate, Comment on Conservative Free Market Businesses. God Bless America.
Baggers have no reason to exist. Well, expect maybe to wash my car. Can you even do THAT without screwing it up?
I will look on Facebook, but I’d like to suggest a committee to identify opportunities to deregulate and/or privatize government functions.
@Suzy……being divisiomal???? Again surely you jest. Cut ALL.the outside money out of campaigns, including unions. But if you think.for a second that statements like “legitimate rape” or “women have a way of shutting this down after rape” or , “evolution and embryology.are lies straight from the pits of hell” is NOT divisive then you are living in the 1950′s. Don’t ever expect to be taken seriously when you support these wacka doodles
Suzy – Prop 32 was supported by a Super Pac. A handful of billionaires and oil companies backed this bill. These people try to trick misinformed people into giving up their rights. Please look it up and find out who supported Prop 32.
Suzy, why are you more interested in curing measles in other countries than educating Americans?! Interesting notion for someone posting on the future of America.
Who’s interfering in social issues? What political party was Akin and Murdock from? Oh that’s right, REPUBLICONS!
