Tea Party Patriots Statement on Tonight’s Debate

After tonight’s vice presidential debate, Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots released the following statement:
“Tonight’s debate is a perfect example of the crisis we face. Our vice-president has shown he is an abusive political bully who belittles, mocks, ridicules and laughs at his opponent, the moderator, the viewers and anyone who questions this administration’s lack of leadership. Solutions require respect. These skills the vice president, and this administration, clearly lack.
“It is time for leadership to take our country’s problems seriously and show us how America can be successful again with a strong economy, tackling our debt and deficit, national security, and foreign policy.”

Moderator and Biden tried to stack the deck against Ryan tonight by interrupting him when he was on a roll. It’s also obvious on Foreign Policy & the Economy that Leading from Behind …. does nothing more than KEEP America …… Always Behind !!
Yeah. Biden sounded like Romney in the first debate.
Excellent summary. Jenny Beth Martin, you are awesome.
Paul Ryan was cool and impressive in the face of the bullying of Biden. I will take Mr. Ryan as a potential President of the United States way over Biden. Biden wears his emotions on his sleeve just like my six year old grandson.
Lois- Biden acts like a six-year-old because he’s
in his second childhood. The smirks and the interruptions
did not win my vote. Ryan is more presidential. He also
is more of a practicing Catholic than Biden. Biden is a
Catholic in name only.
The statements Biden made tonight about Libya and throwing the intelligence community under the bus – will come back to haunt the Obama/Biden ticket.
I thought Ryan did a great job – CNN called it for Ryan – 48% to 44% for Biden. They scored 8 lows for Biden and only 1 for Ryan.
Biden played to his base. Ryan spoke to the American people.
Anyone who watched and observed Joe Biden’s body language and lack of respect in this debate knows, whether they are willing to admit it or not, that he cannot be trusted and that he is willing do just about anything to cover up the abismal job the Obama/Biden administration has done over these past 4 years. It is no wonder the there has been no bipartisan cooperation these past 4 years. When the President and Vice President are so rigid, disrespectful and power hungry that they will push legislation through at any cost, and refuse to listen to anyone but their own inner circle of conspirators, then it is just a predictable consequence that our nation is so divided right now and our economy and national security are deeply threatened. We desperately need leaders who believe in the constitution and the principals of democracy that our nation was founded on. We need a leader who is willing to listen to the american people and colleagues whether democrat or republican to restore our country to one of integrity and prosperity. Romney and Ryan could not have more clearly spelled out how that is done than they have in these past 2 debates. One just has to ignore the smoke and mirrors that the Obama/Biden campaign uses to distract the american people from seeing the Obama administration’s aggregious mistakes over these past 4 years. The other thing Obama and Biden are doing is trying to completely distort facts with regards to Romney and Ryan. Obama and Biden know that if the American people understand how truly brilliant and innovative the Romney/Ryan plans are to turn our country around then they have no chance at re-election and might as well give up now. The responsibility is upon our shoulders to make sure that truth prevails and the distortions and misrepresentations of the Obama administration do not fool the american people once again. It is time to take our country back. We quite literally cannot afford 4 more years of Obama/Biden. If Romney and Ryan are re-elected we will see the American standard of freedom, opportunity and responsibility restored to this country we love so dearly.
Jerome, very well stated comment! Totally agree with you!
I must confess, I was hoping for more specifics from Congressman Ryan – especially concerning his budget and tax plans. I can’t afford to lose my mortgage interest deduction or the deduction for the state taxes.
Right on Jenny!
John I too would have liked more details on the economy, jobs and foreign policy. Please remember Ryan was tag teamed by Biden and the moderator. With Biden shooting off his big mouth, laughing and grunting Ryan stayed on task. His plans have to better than what we have now.
Last night felt like watching a talk show, not a debate. My daughter says she’s going to Photo-Shop Ryan as Batman and Biden as ‘The Joker.’ Lol!! I told her…well played when she said that… as her analogy rang so very true. Seriously though, I want to steal Biden’s Depends and put them on myself at the mere thought of this man sitting in the Oval Office and this is what concerns me that others aren’t thinking about. That’s what the position of VP is for! He ROYALLY degraded Benjamin Netanyahu by calling him “BB”?? (Does this make Putin’ PP? Lol!!) Especially when Barack got busted on television for verbally saying, “I have to deal with him every day!” (eye-roll) to the French President! Biden acted like the Uncle everyone has who “knows it all” and is “overconfident” and “always right” no matter what. One last. I don’t know why everyone is so upset at Ryan AND Mitt Romney saying, “We have the framework, but we’re going to allow YOUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES a seat at the round table to decide “which” things are going to get cut.” Isn’t that the job of Congressman and Senators? I guess 4 years under the Oboma/Biden Administration and all the Executive Orders have stopped everyone from seeing this. I appreciate the fact that they both say, “We know we need to make cuts and we WILL, but we’re going to follow the Constitution in doing so!” Get back to history people!!!!
‘Bibi’ is a well known nickname for Benjamin Netanyahu. Has been for decades.
“Bibi” or “B.B”….to me, it was degrading the way Biden used it. My offense was the absolute lack of respect VP Biden showed for the Israeli Prime Minister, whether his nickname is well known and/or all over the news or not. (Thanks for letting me know this though.) Everyone knows Prince William was called “Wills” by his mother, but I’d never waltz in, acting cocky calling him that. I felt that VP Biden was very….gosh…the vision that comes to me is Bipolar/Narcissistic. Charlie Sheen’ish last night. MAJOR turn off and prior to this my concern was his age…dementia. Now it’s all of the above.
I watched the VP debate. Mr Ryan was concise, assured, and spoke from an honest viewpoint and intent. He was respectful and more professional than his opponent. Mr Biden, with no track record he could be proud of, behaved like a schoolyard bully. Although he had some facts (numbers) to back up his claims, he relied on his smirking facial expressions to make his opponent look foolish. Instead, I thought that made him (Biden) look foolish.
Mr Biden’s use of his wish to protect his family’s social security and medicare was nothing heroic, as that is something we all do without expecting public accolades to recognize personal devotion.
What I found disconcerting was Frank Luntz’s focus group of undecided voters in Ohio. Some of these people spoke favorably toward Biden calling him commanding, knowledgable etc. What? Is bullying okay now in America?
Another thing I wished happened is Ryan being more assertive. The whole narrative is about Biden, love him or hate him. And that’s all that matters to in the media.
Bidens debate strategy was obvious from the first words he spoke. He consistantly tried to drown Ryan out every time he came across with a sensible response. This behavior from Biden sent up a red flag immediately. Most successful and productive people are very good listeners first and then respond in a articulate manner. When I see one candidate trying to drown the other out I cannot put my trust in that person to represent our country with the very crucial problems we have facing us. I do believe there are many very capable people in our government but it is operating at half power if they cannot listen. Biden had an advantage over Ryan because he is among the first to see the facts and figures as they come in at the White House. This information can change from one minute to the next. I will vote for a candidate that knows how to respond to these changes and who can agree that government is not designed to be a “one man” team who “knows it all”. Biden demonstrated his ability to talk fast and long but did’nt produce much of anything in the end. My trust goes to Ryan.
UNBELIEVABLY UNPROFESSIONAL on the part of the Vicepresident of the United States–Mr. Biden.
I believe that part of his strategy was to make viewers focus on his OUTRAGEOUS behavior instead of focusing on the REAL ISSUES that candidate Ryan wanted to bring up that are afecting each & every american.
YESTERDAY americans had an opportunity to listen to what is going on with the United States Economy and Foreign Policy; but, we were robbed by Mr. Biden’s behavior. SHAME ON OUR VICEPRESIDENT!
On the day of the debate Obama said ” we will let Joe be Joe” well they did and he did. Now they will pay the price for this obstant, rude, bully of a VP.
