Tea Party Patriots Statement on 2nd Debate

Following tonight’s debate, Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots had the following comments:
“If President Obama’s job in the second debate was to provide Americans with a reason to give him a second term, he failed. He did nothing but defend his failed policies and promise four more years of the same. He may have done enough to give reporters what they need to carry the President’s water, but he didn’t give Americans enough to believe he can get America working again.”

Mr. Obama continues his pattern of attacking Gov. Romney because he has NO record to defend! I hated the lack of moderating but expected that from CNN “journalist”. Gov. Romney did a good job – didn’t help that the moderator “corrected” him with an incorrect statement that helped Obama. Keep at it – no harm done and maybe some people actually got the message that trickle down government does not work!
My slightly left leaning high school junior step-daughter and two of her girlfriends watched the debate. All 3 called it a draw. All 3 also feel better about Romney now than they did before tonight’s debate. One of them, a long time Obama supporter who has been losing confidence, decided after tonight’s debate that she is a Romney supporter.
I also felt like the debate was a draw, even with Obama giving it his best shot. In the end, there are stark differences between the 2, and I’m not referring to personalities. Hopefully, the media will focus on the issues, because one of these 2 will take us down a very different path from the other. Obama talked about his job creation record, what he didn’t mention was those were government jobs. Romney reminds people his focus is on private sector jobs and small business. In essence, people need to see the decision is between the big government guy or one that supports individual freedoms. Let’s hope that a majority of our citizens don’t want to become socialist.
Are we still saying Obama is a socialist? I thought that got played out like the birther controversy and the implementation of Sharia Law.
Romney still doesn’t talk about his economic plan in any sort of detail. I can understand if he was saving it for more towards the end of the election, but we’re coming down to the wire here and he’s still not really saying anything. How does he expect people to support a policy that he won’t detail? He’s banking a lot on ‘Obama’s failed economic policy’ but isn’t really offering an alternative.
Steve,
PLEASE research your data claims!!!!!! Obama has created more private jobs than Bush and far less public jobs than Bush. During Obama’s term the trend is showing a significant rise in private sector jobs and a steady decline in public sector employment. How can you deny these facts?
…- why is Romney running away from Tea Party principles on contraception, Immigration with his support for the Dream Act, abortion, etc.
Why do I see Tea Party supporters talking about how they want small government right before they advocate constitutional amendments and laws barring homosexuality and abortion? It doesn’t make sense to me.
As a European, I thought Obama narrowly won. I also know that in 4 years he has restored America’s reputation here in Europe and made it a much more comfortable place for US citizens to travel around. I remember during the Bush era, any American I met would be constantly ridiculed due to the image that their president had created. Obama has undone all this in 4 years which can only be a good thing! Also, what is the fear in the US to universal health care, we’ve had it for centuries and nobody ever complains!! Rich or Poor!!
Americans have had a poor rep for far too many years unjustly, considering all the foreign aid we supply. But i am interested in your Universal Health Care comments. Under Obamacare, our Congress is exempt from this system. Why do you think Government Officials should be exempt if it is such a good plan? Some of our new benefits include reduced benefits, longer waiting periods and higher premiums! What do you think of having a Government Board to decide if you should have specific treatments or not instead of your doctor. How about if you are elderly, every 5 years you have to take a class about “End-of-Life Planning” And he talks of pre existing conditions; but an elderly person that has been taking a B-12 shot for years is now informed it is not necessary unless he wishes to pay for it? Doctors I have had for years under my covered insurance plans are no longer there, Why? Government intervention is not the answer to the current problems facing the American people!!!
Exactly what debate did you watch last night? The President won it last night just like Mitt won the first debate.
My comment is awaiting moderation. Censor much?
Suzy, I guess you forgot that gas prices were the highest its ever been the summer of 2008. The economy started falling and people stopped driving. Because of this gas prices started falling in the fall of 2008. It had nothing to do with the president or any president before or after.
Why don’t you just take a bus. I do and spend virtually nothing on gas.
It would take an additional hour to go to and from work if I added a bus ride. I spend enough time away from home. I’ll pay for the gas, thank you!
Susy: your mistaken.
low gas prices do not solely reflect a good economy. it s a factor of supply and demand, speculation, oil production, weather, government policies, and the global economy. In the fall of 2008, gas prices plummeted from a historical high point due to the decline of the stock market and failure of Lehman Bros bank. To simply focus on one small sample of Bush’s term and compare it to four years of Obama is ignorant at the vary least. The tea party has a very few great points but its argument like this that prevent intelligent and self-informed Americans for following you. You all claim to be the “informed” and in actuality you are; your informed by a few of select folks that manipulate information to benefit their agendas. I feel sorry for you.
The only point you have successfully made is that you know absolutely nothing about statistics and your uneducated vote is more a cancer on our elected government than those who choose not to vote.
