The President’s Health Care Law Taxes Middle-Class Americans

Since the debate about health care reform began in 2009, grassroots activists across the country have warned of unintended consequences. One of those unintended consequences became clear this week. As reported by Philip Klein the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) expects six million Americans, mostly those in the middle-class, to be hit by the fine for not having insurance.
Doing some quick math, this is $1,167 per citizen being hit by the tax. Never mind that the average American already pays too many taxes on not enough income – now six million law-abiding citizens will be required to pay more.
The President’s health care law has too many broken promises to count, and CBO has just added one more. No raising taxes on the middle-class, Mr. President? Once again, you and your health care law are lacking.

i just gave aarp notice that they support obama on this so i will no longer support them
As Romney would say, “Why can’t poor people just buy more money to pay for health care, hell, I’ll even let them bank with me in the Caymans.” The guy is a genius. But seriously, even $1600.00 is a good deal per year for basic health care, but hell, if you would rather have people rack up a $5000 emergency room bill because they can’t get preventative care…you are missing some knowledge of basic economics. Rock On!
In case you haven’t noticed, the government misuses and wastes most of the money they get their hands on. Do you honestly want them telling you WHEN,WHERE and HOW you will be diagnosed and treated by ??? ? Do you really want them taking more money out of your check to fill their coffers? I wish people would wake up and smell the acid stench of LIES that comes from their so-called promises. NOT MORE GOVERMENT PLEASE. I am a staunch supporter of LESS GOVERMENT.
Some basic knowledge on Obama’s health care package….if this goes through, then EVERY time you make a bank transaction, you will be hit with a 1% tax on that transaction. Deposit your paycheck, it will cost you 1% of that paycheck, withdraw $100 from your checking or savings, it will require 1% of that transaction. Transfer money from one account to another, 1% of that money will be tax…..any bank transaction at all will require a 1% tax. Most of us that have NO health care are not racking up emergency room bills, we are living with the hope that one day we CAN afford health care. We are not running to emergency rooms and racking up bills we cannot pay, we are living with any and all health issues we have!! Oh, and for those who think Obama’s healthcare plan is a smart idea…this is another fall out of the plan….when he takes our Federal tax return as a fine….then I will no longer be able to afford the car that gets me to my jobs and back….so, maybe then i too will be ale to go on social services and food stamps and no longer have to work, and that 1% tax can support me too!!
There are those of us that work hard and pay our own way….and do not have the option of healthcare….maybe ALL of us should just let Obama supporters “pay” our way!!
Hey!! there’s a thought…….
Excellent post. Obama is all about throwing money at problems with no plan or research on whether all the money in the world will fix the problem. That is this healthcare bill. 100 Democrats all contributing something to it, with not idea if it works as a whole, no idea or thought of any of the unintended consequences. Here’s one for you: Many people who now pay $15K for healthcare for their family will drop out now that they can get insurance anytime even if they have a pre-existing condition. Why not pay the $1500 fine and pay as you go at the doctor’s office? Sure as hell isn’t going to be 1/10th of $15,000. If someone get seriously ill and requires expenisve care you just go buy a policiy. Everyone will do this. That leads to insurnace co. failures or more regulation. (larger fines) If the gov’t winds up opening clinics and lowering doctor fees, the docs will stop taking insurance. Then you’ll have to wait for months or years to see a gov’t doctor, or pay a private doctor to be seen right away. You talk about the rich getting richer…how about the rich getting better and the poor dying in line?
You want to know how government healthcare works talk to a veteran who only goes to the VA for annual checkups and when they don’t feel good. You call the outpatient clinic tell them why you need to come in. The receptionist says the nurse will give you a call before the end of the day. Right around the end of the day the nurse calls and asks you questions and makes a decision OVER THE PHONE to come in or not. If they want you to come in you will be lucky to get an appointment within the next 2 weeks. I went in to see my doctor told them I was feeling numbness in my left thigh. I got the call from the nurse and was asked if I wore my pants too tight. After she decided to have me come in I was told the earliest appointment I could get was 4 and a half weeks away.
