Presidential Race Opens Necessary Debate over Government Dependence and Overspending

The Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, today welcomed the debate, sparked by Governor Romney, over the clear division between personal dependency on a government that overspends taxpayer dollars, and a strong economy in which everyone can participate.
“This election poses a choice for voters: do you want a country dependent on government programs and handouts, or do you want a country with an economy that produces good jobs and returns America to a higher standard of living?,” said Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots.
“In 2011, 49 percent of Americans lived in a household where at least one member of the family received a government benefit. Since 2009, Tea Party Patriots across the nation have said: Enough! Enough of big government supporting failed companies. Enough of big government health care schemes that rob American families of the freedom to choose the best care for them. Enough of big government that divides this great nation into factions that fight for their own government handouts.
“Every voter must choose between claiming the personal freedom upon which this country was built or accepting more government intervention in exchange for not-so-‘free’ handouts.”

America has been, by design, growning more and more dependant on handouts and less and less self reliant. It is the liberal infulatration of our educational institutions, teaching our children to loathe their own nation, to be shamed by America’s role in the world, and to be embarassed by thir own individual accomplishments. Couple this with the general (no real party difference) political pandering for votes based on RACE, SEX and ECONOMICS, rather than “We the People” as one cumulative American body with American insterests, and you can clearly see where our troubles stem from and how they, through unprincipaled politicans voted into government by an amoral society, propigate.
What comes to many as “natural” may be to many others something unknown. I’m referring to what a person needs to be successful in life – the willingness to work hard, get an education, and take pride in themselves and their community.
Since the time women were given money, by the government, to produce babies without a father in the home, the more babies she produced became proof of her hard work. Since governments agreed with teachers unions that it was easier to promote a child than teach him, why should the child bother to learn. Since the time a drug or alcohol addict had their health care provided, for free, by the federal government, why should they worry about the way they treat their bodies or how their vomit spatters our streets. These people met their own standards for success.
Yes, the government MUST stop their handouts because the handouts have destroyed the lives of millions of people. However, to the citizens who naturally take care of things, will fall the duty to repair the destruction. I think those destroyed will require assurances that they will not be forgotten before they will have the courage to vote for freedom.
OK, candidate Romney is talking very differently than how Governor Romney acted.
I still remember candidate Reagan saying he was going to eliminate the Dept. of Education…
Let’s just hope we can elect a Congress that will hold Romney to his campaign rhetoric.
I guess we have to try to elect a Congress that will repudiate the RNC Platform in order to do that!
In case you haven’t read the Republican platform, there’s a nice statement in it about wanting to “fund the essential services (services?) authorized by the Constitution, like the care of those who cannot care for themselves”.’
Gee, doesn’t that encourage dependence on government and encourage government overspending?
