I have seen Atlas Shrugged and look forward to part II. In the meantime we must get more people to see 2016 Obama’s America…

God Help Us, and God Save America!
I saw 2016…everyone should see that!! Some crazy stuff!!
God Bless America!!!!!!!!(even though those liberals don’t think so…)
Hey don’t you think Romney is a bit like James Taggart. Riding off the coattails of his privilege rather than hard work? Who is John Galt?
@ Michael, Anyone who believes the Ayn Randian beliefs of Atheism, Selfishness and Greed is the Antithesis of our Democracy and of what made the United States of America the greatest country on Earth.
WHERE DO I GET OR SEE ATLAS SHRUGGED?
SAME QUESTION CONCERNING GENERATION ZERO?

You can rent atlas shrugged part 1 at most redboxs. I rented the bluray version. Nice.
To the shallow nondescript “mimi,” people who have “privilege” coattails only show that their family was industrious rather than empty suit, lazy, takers described as those of “mimi’s family.” Jealousy, greed and envy by the “plebes” of the earth are the ones who are the trouble makers because they have nothing to contribute to the dialog except their ignorance. Mimi, what do you hope in for your children? That they grow up poor? That seems to be the message you and those who think like you are broadcasting to America’s youth. I have been poor and I have been rich and I can categorically state that poor sucks and I want my kids to have at least what I have and hopefully more. I don’t know where the “99%” get their ideas from but they are stupid and non-productive. I’ve never seen a 99%er create a job for anyone, nor donate to charitable causes as does the 1% people. Look up the facts before you speak. The 1%Er’s donate well in advance of 10% tithes where the 99% have the worse record for helping their fellow man. “People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.” We have only been a great nation for 223 years. Every socialist, totalitarian, liberal tear jerk nation on the planet both now and in the past, has failed miserably and with thousands of years as their guide. The reason is simple, socialism doesn’t work, got it socialism doesn’t work. Are you listening Mr. Obama?
Allan Walker
Common sense,
You are so right! I am not a 1%er or even close but I want to be and that is the AMERICAN DREAM! Why do these people denigrate it so? I just don’t want to live in a socialist country and with Nobama at the helm it seems to be going that way. We need to do all we can to change the course of this Nation back to what it was meant to be. I will admit that i was suckered into voting for that scumbag and never again will I fall for that crap again.
IN a word…ENVY.
I’m thrilled to see pt 2 is coming – was vey afraid something had happened to prevent them from continuing with the story.
Also, folks might be interested in a new Obama video on youtube – 360,000 views in 6 days. Can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8R5GvwUFU8
The Tea Party are unknowing peons of the Aristocracy, funded by criminals like the Koch brothers. They are illiterate voters who elect elitist corporate stoolies into office. It’s hilarious that their idol Ayn Rand espouses beliefs that are the founding principles of the Church of Satan, while they feign belief in Christianity. Their beloved “Objectivism” would turn all of humanity into godless hyenas. You can Google “Paul Ryan Ayn Rand Church of Satan”, if you know how to read.
Howard, we are not illiterate, although when comes to what you wrote we wish we were. Your garbage stinks! I’m pretty certain it needs to be taken out along with the rest of your useless trash! Just because you obviously worship Nobama, doesn’t mean all conservatives &/or Tea Party affiliates follow ALL of Ayn Rand’s principles, or even some of them. We conservatives not only are we literate, but we actually think for ourselves. Now…. don’t go into a temper tantrum on me, I know that’s a foreign concept to the leftist liberals. As a matter of fact, if you can honestly believe this, not ALL conservatives/Tea Party affilliates have the same religious beliefs, or have religious beliefs at all, but they do come together based on the same principles that they share that was started here 223 years ago! Wow! Ok, I’m going to type this slowly so hopefully you can keep up, and comprehend this statement: WE BELIEVE OUR COUNTRY SHOULD STICK TO THE CONSTITUTION THAT WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN WHEN THIS COUNTRY CHOSE TO BECOME THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
Ok, Howard, I hope I didn’t lose you there. If you are having trouble with it, go back to JR High School, and ask if you can come back and finish now. If not, I’m sure there is a free government provided class out there somewhere, where someone can actually read this to you, AND explain it to you. Hope this all works out for you somehow. Although, I have to say by reading your venomous spew above I have my doubts. **heavy sigh**
WE BELIEVE OUR COUNTRY SHOULD STICK TO THE CONSTITUTION THAT WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN WHEN THIS COUNTRY CHOSE TO BECOME THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC
Dude… I don’t even know what you are talking about, but here’s a thought. How about letting the Tea Party buy you a one-way ticket to Greece. I’m in for ten bucks if anyone else wants to contribute.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why this book is so popular… i agree w/ Rogers (not Krugman who gets the credit for the quote).
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
I could drone on about the incredible naive simplistic character development and logical fallacies of this book as it these actually make a case against libertarianism (see this guy’s review of AS https://sites.google.com/site/atlassucked/part-1). I’ll stick w/ my JSMill, Ruwart, and Hazlitt.
In reviewing the Official General Election Sample Ballot, there is often the case where I have a choice between someone I don’t want to vote for or “Write In”. I’ve decided I’m going to write in a name and that name is “John Galt”. Anyone else game? If you think it’s a good idea, spread the word.
Galt has my vote.
The point that Ayn Rand was trying to get across is that socialism doesn’t work. It never has and it never will. I am a construction worker who does a little better than living check to check and would I want money taken away from somebody who makes more than me and just given to me because I make less? No, no, and no. I did not put in the time and effort to start a business, I did not take the chance of losing everything I have, I never put in 16 to 18 hours a day to grow a business, why should I gain from someone else’s hard work and sacrifice. If I want to make more money I will invest MY time and I will make the necessary sacrifices to make it happen. On top of that I would feel used and taken advantage of if I had to give my money to someone who is too lazy to get off their butt and work for what they want. Atlas shrugged was set in the future, it was written in the fifties. It was written from observations made by Ayn Rand. As for Ayn being athiest, what does that have to do with this story? As a Christian all I can say is that I will never agree with the atheistic beliefs. That does not change the fact that this is could happen. Was she perfect on all of the points of this story. I’m not perfect either. If it makes anyone feel better, close your eyes and keep saying, “This could never happen to us.”
