Dealing Congress Extends Unsustainable Spending Levels
NEWS RELEASE: The Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, today blasted Congressional “leaders” in the Senate and House for agreeing to a continuing resolution to sustain federal spending levels.
“Mr. Boehner and Mr. Reid, you might not have built our country but your lack of guts is destroying it. Just as in May when five budgets were proposed and voted down, the dysfunctional Congress, under your watch, has chosen again to punt on making the real spending cuts that Americans demand,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-Founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. “Harry Reid and John Boehner have done it again—cutting political deals to avoid a tough vote in an election year. This is not leadership and the American people are fed up with your unwillingness to address the financial issues that are plaguing this country.
“We will hold Senate and House leadership accountable for its reckless, irresponsible behavior at a time when the economy remains sluggish and millions of unemployed Americans face rising food prices and living costs. We will not forget in November and beyond.”
Tea Party Patriots is a national grassroots coalition with more than 3,400 locally organized chapters and more than 15 million supporters nationwide. Tea Party Patriots is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting the principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets. THE BIGGEST WEASELS IN CONGRESS !!!
Why would anyone vote for Harry Reid? He must be buying votes with my money. I’m tired of being tolarant.
Just keep the information coming, I’m taking notes. I will be an informed voter come election time!
Shame on Boehner, Scott Brown & all the others that didn’t have the guts to take a stand against radical Islam. Michelle has more guts than all the rest of them put together. I thought Boehner was for cutting spending. What a disappointment they turned out to be.
I have to agree with Carolyn. They went after Michelle after she revealed information that everyone else seemed to want to ignore. Boehner has always been a milquetoast elitist…probably Rhino. We need new leadership with guts.
We must get everyone out to vote and rid congress of these spineless liars. They used us in 2010 and we must hold their feet to the fire. Never give up and never let up. If they can’t do their job then we must throw the bums out.
It is sad that these 2 powerful leaders cannot agree for 3 years on a budget to take to the floor of Senate. But, this close to the election, I personally will give them a pass. Don’t want to see lots of junk spending and important cuts coming from the Dems just to get is passed. If they try to actually cut spending with extraneous cuts and not cutting important stuff, then Mr WH will just veto it anyway. Lets all pray for a new WH administration soon and that the replacement is able to get this wonderful country back on track. Even with his experience, it will probably take at least 2 – 3 yrs to regain confidence in the economy.
Surely this is Reid’s last term. Then again, I thought with over 14% unemployment in Nevada, he would never get re-elected – but with big Labor and other even shadier connections he was somehow able to acquire the numbers needed to say he won last time. How sad. Yes and Boehner is an even greater disappointment. We KNOW what to expect from Reid, but Boehner is supposed to be on OUR side. When he comes out smelling like Reid, THAT is very hard to take. I’m not too concerned about who will replace Reid. Anything would be better but who is in line to replace Boehner that is going to be able to take a real stand for fiscal responsibility in D.C. ?
I couldn’t believe my ears when he won again. Maybe all of Nevada was gambling and drunk during the vote last time, or maybe the Casinos sent out a free meal or free drinks that day! So everyone was too busy to vote. OH my goodness what a sad day that was.
The issue wasn’t that Reid was reelected, it was that the Republican party did not take the time to find a candidate that could win the election. I am so sick and tired of the Republican party expecting all of us to just back and vote for any old piece of shit that hangs the republican banner around their neck. Just as it is in our current race for the Whitehouse. If Romeny wins it wont be because he was the overwelming choice, it will be because we couldn’t stand for 4 more years of Obama. Boy it will sure be nice to know that our president is just a lessor of 2 evils.
FYI: Many of us Nevadans thought he would be voted out, but as we went to early voting, members of the union were standing within 100 feet of voting booths and we had to brush by them to enter the voting section. They, with out of state democrats were on hand to help out any voters that needed their assistance. Yes, a few were bilingual. On election day, the unions were instrumental with busing in the strip workers every half hour who needed transportation from work to vote. According to rumor, the union officials would go up to worker on the job, say that they noticed they had not voted you according to voter rolls, and have them get on the bus so they could vote. My friend worked the election. She reported that workers names did not always match with the name on the roll, but all they had to do was point and say their correct name. (the roll had incorrect spelling?) Then the union would assit the workers in any area of voting they needed assistance. But, of course, though complaints were made, the county could not find where anything, or laws had been broken.
The Tea Party movement talks a good game but doesn’t do much when it comes down to voting the ringleaders out of office. Yes they seem to occasionally win a seat here and there but they cant seem to take down the big game pol’s on both sides. Reid escaped defeat two years ago and Boehner will too. The American people are just not sick and tired enough. This country wont change until real suffering shows up. Start with a 1 six year term limit. That’ll clean it up. Same with the executive branch….1 six year term.
Why isn’t anyone, including this site, that Boehner and Reid have agreed to fund the implementation of ObamaCare during the next critical six months, and that it will be to late to defund it in February 2013 unless both branches of Congress and the President agree? This is the biggest outrage of all and yet even this site is not mobilizing to fight it.
That’s what I was thinking. The House is in charge of spending. Defund Obamacare. Now.
Smoke and mirrors. Boehner has to go.
Tea Party, live and well!
What a disappointment Boehner turned out to be. He had promised he would lead the House in de-funding Obamacare.
I knew he would not be much of a leader when I seen the man cry.
House Speaker Boehner, you’re disgusting & a disgrace to be the speaker of the house. You are a Rhino with no guts or backbone. Because of your compromise, now the liberals will continue to spend, spend, spend. Also we won’t be able to start defunding Obamadoesn’tcare either.
The sooner Boehner and McConnell go the better! Time to replace them both with conservatives that have a pair and are not afraid to speak out.
Subject: Proposed 28th Amendment
>
>
> Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?
>
> 35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
>
> Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
>
> This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.
>
> This is an idea that we should address.
>
> For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.
> Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws.
>
> The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform… in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
>
> If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.
> This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
>
> Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: “Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .”

regarding the pay off of student loans for congressional members: false, although, there are some considerations in place for retaining government employees re: loans and job incentives. http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/studentloans.asp
I agree Speaker Boehner is not a patriot and cannot and should not work with such a political low life as Reid is. If Obama is taken care of, the next target should be replacement of the Speaker of the House.
Reid is terrible but Boehner Must Be Recalled or voted out.
Boehner needs to go.!
Boehner needs to go!
“My men have become women on me, and my women, men!”
Xerxes, Battle of Salamis, 480 BC
I was hoping he was other than how he appeared, weak and uninspired and worried about how to get more of our money without supporting the Constitution that he swore to do!
Hopefully this is his last term of supporting the Democrates.
The time has come…… It’s our way or the highway for all that can’t put us and our country first. no more money’s for other country’s. us first . no more tax’s stop spending .Ether take care of us first not you or we will get YOU gone.
This is what happens when they get to Washington and are faced with corruption and don’t have the guts to face it head on. I believe anytime they vote to raise taxes instead of cutting SO CALLED entitlements they should have to go to jail for theft. The 16th amendment is not legal and does not give Congress any power that it did not have already. It is just worded to make the people think that the money they get in return for their time and labor is income,,It Is not. God gave you the right to earn a living by working, and in return you get paid for the time you have to invest. You and your employer decide how much your time is worth. NOT THE GOVERNMENT>
I agree with most sentiments here regarding Mr. Boehner. He’s not a very strong leader. I personally believe that the main reason for all of ths is because once a person becomes elected and then heads off to DC they become corrupted within months of being there…It’s a very very liberal and biased place to be. The town of Washington DC is run entirely by Liberals. The Media, Socialites, Party givers, Consultant groups, etc…And then everyone wants to be liked…lets face it Politicians are mostly weak minded people and don’t have back bones. (There are very few Ronald Reagans) We do have a few though. Namely Allen West, Michele Bachman, and Sarah Palin. What we really need is to have real and legitimate TERM LIMITS. For Everyone. Don’t give me that garbage about, “we already have term limits called elections”. We all know that alot of elections are fraudulant. Look at Harry Reid in Nevada. How can his SON loose on his run by more than 20 points to a Republican and Harry Reid win by the margin he did??? Reid should have been gone….anyway my point is we need real term limits. If we have them we get rid of all the corruption and the career politicians. And only good people wll then serve. This democracy was not meant to be a career for people. You go and serve for one to two terms get the job done and get out…plain and simple. Unfortunately they get drunk with all the power in DC and the MONEY…OUR MONEY…lets not forget any of that…IT’s ALL OUR MONEY!!! The government does NOT PRODUCE ANYTHING. Remember this people. They ONLY TAKE (Taxes)…and they ALL work for US!!!! They are in essence OUR employees…..(public service)
Anthony,
As a soldier, husband, and father all I can really say is, “WOW!” Someone else, besides me, has finally said it. The politicians work for the people, not the other way around.
Harry Reid has the union in his pocket as well as other groups that support him.
As far as Boehner goes, that’s an easy one. We have for too long elected individuals with Ivy League backgrounds that have done nothing before being elected to public office.
I guarentee you this, if you elect an individual that actually works for a living, pipe fitter, wrench turner types we wouldn’t be dealing with a lack of leadership because no hardworking American would put up with the crap that is going on now.
You’re absolutely right in the fact that there is a lot of corruption in politics and in D.C. in particular.
If we had a Senate, and House that were elected officials having served their country (having retired from the military) then you would get a stance on the ideals of true, honest to God “Leadership”. We are taught to lead from the front, be brutally honest (because let’s face it, there are no politics in foxholes) and take responsibility for our errors, sometimes in a very public manner.
The same goes for those that work in the private sector and pay a majority of taxes in this nation. By that I mean, people that actually know what it is like to work hard for a living.
I firmly believe that in order to hold public office you should have an established work history, not a career kissing babies while stealing their lolly pops, if you get my drift.
I firmly stand by my position to hold a public vote (of and, by the people of this nation) in order to publicly fire any elected official on the spot should they continue to thumb their nose and not do what they promised to do, which is their job. I mean, once the vote is in, cast on a Sunday with a 60% to 40% clear majority, a representative of the people should be able to walk into any publicly held office in the land and deliver the notice, with camera crew filming live, giving the elected official one hour to clean out his or her desk and escorted from the premises, their services no longer being required.
When I say “any publicly held office in the land”, Anthony, I do mean “any”. Even the ones held in the “Crystal Palace” aka the White House.
The laws of the land should be upheld, but more importantly, they should be voted on by the people, not just the Senators, Representatives, and so on. They should also apply equally to those that hold public office. If they break the law, they should be punished just as we are if we break the law.
God Bless Texas, and God Bless the United States of America
** Lets take a much closer look at John Boehner. **
Harry ”War bucks” Reid and John Boehner recently shook hands on a putrid disgraceful continuing resolution to sustain Federal ”unbudgeted” spending levels for 6 months with ”NOTHING” controlling ”unbudgeted” and limitless government spending! They spend “other peoples money” like escaped convicts with stolen cash.
These criminals can now continue to borrow money from China to purchase ”prostituted votes” now and until after the 2012 elections. These ”EMEMIES -OF-TAXPAYERS” have ZERO leadership capabilities. I run several companies and if these criminals worked in my organization”, I would fire them on the spot and turn them over to law enforcement”.
The analysis of Speaker John Boehner just begins here, but must not end here.
John Boehner’s refusal to show any leadership or to even acknowledge the overt demands from Conservatives (the only adults in the room), to “cut federal spending now, positively proves that he is absolutely unwilling to do anything to stop the ”unbudgeted” funding for ObamaTax.
His Harry Reid “deal” automatically funds ObamaTax and no one more than John Boehner understands that.
Let me rephrase that; John Boehner is moving forward to automatically fund ObamaTax hand-in-hand with Harry Reid. John Boehner proves by his disturbing actions to fund ObamaTax, that he “desires” to fund ObamaTax without credible opposition.
How in-thee-hell does that represent you and I? Just who is John Boehner actually representing here? Who? And maybe more importantly, “WHY”?
Please look in the mirror and honestly ask yourself; What would happen at this very same junction in time if Michelle Bachman was Speaker of the House instead of John Boehner?? Ask yourself; Do Progressive/Marxists pick leaders that are afraid to take action? Are they afraid to violate the Constitution every day? Why aren’t they afraid and why do they pursue their far left lawless goals? The answer is because they know that there is no principled Conservative in any leadership position of power that is going to do anything to stop them. They then become effectively “enabled”.
Then why do we, you and I, allow a leader to continue forward that refuses to represent us and take action on our behalf?
So I ask of YOU. What technically “qualifies” John Boehner for the position and title of “LEADER”??
Answer honestly, would someone like Jim DeMint, Louie Gohmert or Michelle Bachman do that to us? Well would they?
Picking leaders has severe consequences, life altering, and earth shaping consequences.
Michelle Bachman would dig right in and stop ObamaTax dead in its tracks.
John Boehner could do this as well but completely lacks the courage or simply is a RINO and despises true Conservatives exactly the way John McCain does when he defends the Muslim sisterhood but eagerly attacks Michelle Bachman and her team of Conservatives with out care or concern for vital evidence following all proper protocols is even glanced at.
To the establishment GOP, unity means unity amongst establishment insiders first, but certainly not unity between establishment RINO’s and true Conservatives. Their actions speak “infinitely louder” than their words do. Believe their actions, not their words.
RINO’s seem all too eager to race to support fellow establishment Liberals first then maybe read the evidence afterwards. That’s the exact same mentality as Nancy Pelousy! Pass it then read it!
You see John Boehner has effectively said to Tea Party Patriots the very same thing about implementing vital funding for ObamaTax as Nancy Pelousy has said.
John Boehner does not have any intention what-so-ever to stand up to the Progressive/Marxists, or more importantly to stand up for us, you and I, the poor schmucks that are going to have to pay for all of this, all while having ObamaTax shoved sideways up our kiesters.
It is past time for all of us to focus on and stand up to John Boehner and to challenge his “Speaker of the House” title.
Boehner is not doing the job we the people put him in there to do, and Reid shouldn’t have been reelected. We need term limits and decrease in government, get rid of the EPA, the TSA, the Homeland Security. Combine the CIA, FBI, NCIS and all those spook outfits and if they are needed make them a department of the Supreme Court so they cannot be corrupted by politics. WE THE PEOPLE ARE COMMING.
The House also just passed S. 679 which removes Senate approval for dozens of Presidential appointments. This is completely unconstitutional, and increases the executives branches ever expanding powers. And they are supposed to be conservative!
Until this country wakes up and imposes term limits on all elected officials, it will continue going down the tubes. Being an elected official should not be be a career. But it should be aa service to this country instead and limited at that. With term limits in place, we can find out who really wants to “serve” the people and bring dignity back to our great nation.
I’m a voter and I too am taking notes. I wish the Republicans and those who call themselves conservative would have a little more backbone. These backroom deals absolutely do NO good for the American people.
Consistent incompetence and lethargy in the halls of congress will continue to rule the day as long as incompetent voters continue to reelect self-serving, career politicians. We have just under three months until the election, and Romney has yet to name a running mate, and has yet to spell out any specific plans for a needed reconstruction of this ailing nation… The hard work has yet to come before this day in November. It makes me sick; we’re getting down to the wire and it’s still the same old Washington politics…… name calling, finger pointing, denials, rhetoric, spins, lies, and deception. The GOP gave us poor choices to begin with, yet the last man standing has difficulty convincing the most sway-able of voters. I opine that Obama has done a poor job at the helm; but if the GOP and their mouthpiece don’t get serious about issues and start presenting plans and ideas for solutions, Barry’s in for another four……… and we can’t afford that!!!!! We have got to vote out every single incumbent in Congress before it’s too late.
these 2 are low lifes i dont know who is worse.the weenie liberal is a disgrace, and the one who calls himself as a republican is spineless and i believe just another one getting rich from his position, and when he does speak it is useless, may god bless us all, someone great said this, ourrights are given by god and nature not the goverment
Why did your article leave out the fact that Ryan also voted for the resolution and therefore Romney must have endorsed this too?
