Tea Party Patriots Will Not Rest until Obamacare is Fully Repealed
Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, today criticized the Supreme Court’s ruling on the President’s healthcare bill.
“The Supreme Court ruled against the American people today,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-Founder and National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots. “The American people overwhelming oppose Obamacare. Now more than ever it is time for the American people to band together and take our government back. Americans agree with what Justice Kennedy said in the dissenting opinion that ‘the entire Act before us is invalid in its entirety.’ We are putting all politicians on notice that we will not rest until this law is overturned it’s in entirety.
“This is a slap in the face to the majority of the American people who want Obamacare fully repealed. The Tea Party Patriots stand with the American people and say: fully repeal Obamacare.
“Mr. Romney, Mr. Boehner: the American people are putting you on notice. You both promised to fully repeal Obamacare. We will hold you to your promises.
“We will vote out any politician who does not commit, in writing, to respect the will of the American people and fully repeal Obamacare.”

The House can undoubtedly pass a Repeal Bill and send it to the Senate. Do you really believe that Harry Reid will act on it?
In order for Mitt Romney to be able to sign a Repealer, he will have to have a Republican House and a filibuster-proof Republican Senate. Do you really believe that is even possible?
And, if Barack Obama is re-elected but the Republicans take control of the House and Senate, they’d need a veto-proof majority to override a Presidential veto. Do you really believe that’s even possible?

If they want you to eat broccoli 3 times a week they can force you to do under federal tax law. The mandate is now a tax bill which can be repealed with a simple majority, 51votes, in the Senate by way of Reconciliation.

How do you “not comply”? By not having insurance? That’s the problem, as it means that private insurers will be driven out of the market, and pave the way for complete government control of health care.

Wait a minute, if you own a car you are forced to buy car insurance. Is it unconstitutional to be forced to buy car insurance?
The difference between car insurance and health insurance, is that driving a vehicle is not just putting yourself at risk but other people as well. The car insurance is to protect the driver and other drivers on the road which is why it is a requirement. Health insurance is on the individual and does not affect the mass population is one person doesn’t have medical insurance, that is personal choice.
Neither the state nor the Feds mandate you to buy a car (well, not yet anyway). You must buy insurance if you choose to operate the vehicle. This is state law, not Federal law. The Feds do not require you to buy car insurance. States have the right to pass such a law under the Constitution. Feds do not.
You are only forceds to buy auto insurance if you drive the car on public roads. You can buy a car and drive on private property without insurance.
If you own a car, you need to buy insurance for the safety of the other people on the roadway with you. Buying and owning a car is a privilege, not a right. Forcing people to buy something is just plain wrong!! BTW… I live in New Hampshire and do not have to buy car insurance or wear a helmet…It is the “Live Free Or Die” state….Soon to be the “Obama-Free” state!! And VERY proud of it!

QUESTION: How do you “not comply”? By not having insurance?
ANSWER: Along with ObamaCare, I know the IRS and Social Security Administration are Unconstitutional. For myself, I have refused to pay IRS taxes for over 7 years now, and I will never do so again. I will retire in 3 more years and will collect payments from the Social Security Administration, including what will be free ObamaCare.
At this point I suggest we all milk and break the system in order to someday hope we will fix it. For it is unlikely we will have another American Revolution in restoring our Constitution Republic.

@Steve, The whole purpose of the bill is to run the insurance companies out of business, that was always the plan. A business associate has already figured out that he will save $41000 a year paying the penalty rather than insuring his employees. So he’s going to let the government insure them. And tell me why anyone would buy insurance (now) until they inform you that you have cancer?
This bill was very wisely crafted so they would get single payer in the long run.
If you don’t want to comply then don’t get obamacare, get something else. If no one (which ya I know is impossible) but if a large population turns its back on obamacare, getting other medical insurance or just paying the fine for not getting a health insurance it will get noticed. If we can’t get it appealed then when it finally goes into the public the government will see the people don’t want it when the enrollment rate is low.

Which is exactly the logic behind needing an insurance mandate. Free riders are refusing to buy insurance but demanding medical services, or waiting until they are in their 40′s to buy insurance and passing off the costs of their age related health problems to everyone else. Well my school did a sit in once, not exactly effective (everyone got written up) but that was a school where freedom of speech and protest doesn’t exist.

There is a difference between what the people want, and what the Supreme Court was supposed to be deciding – whether or not this bill is constitutional. Having said that, I cannot believe that this could possibly be constitutional. We do need to keep all our politicians accountable, and get new ones that think the constitution is actually a good thing. We don’t want “progress” for the sake of progress, or change for the sake of change. We want to return to stability, and that means obeying the laws, from the top down. All these new regulations are killing us. The federal government was not meant to run/ruin our lives. It is becoming impossible to create jobs, and young people have no initiative – they expect to be given one, and an easy one at that. I’m very concerned for our country.

I live in the Netherlands but am retired US Army. If I lived in the US my health care costs would be very low.
My wife and I pay a combined monthly total of about $430 (€350). Everyone here is required to have health care insurance. What I find surprising, we pay less than half what you guys pay, everyone is covered, and if you check the statistics from our CIA World Factbook, you’ll learn that Europeans live longer and have a lower infant mortality rate.
Why would you support a system that is extremely inefficient? We buy our health care from private companies just like you but with one difference, the governments over here highly regulate the industry. The governments dictate what is in the minimum package. You can always buy more but the minimum requirements are regulated.
The bottom line – we pay less than half what you pay, everyone is covered … and the longevity rates and infant mortality rates are better. Don’t take my word on this, go to Wiki or Google this and research this yourself.
Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, Canada, and Japan all have one form or another of universal health care … and they all cost less than half what Americans pay … and everyone is covered.

Justice John Roberts has created a crisis in America. He has let loose a flood of bureaucrats and IRS agents to torment American citizens in the name of healthcare. But for the sake of argument let’s say that he didn’t bend over backwards to reach his ridiculous conclusion. Say he is right and the law is a tax. The Affordable Care Act(choke) originated in the Senate, not the House of Representatives as REQUIRED in Article I Section7 which says;
Section. 7.
All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.
So genius, this bill did not originate in the House of Representatives as REQUIRED in Article Section 7 of the Constitution. Any first year law student knows that makes it UN-Constitutional. The traitor Roberts fails at his own conclusion with logic so flawed it is almost laughable were it not so devastating in its consequences.
Roberts could have said elections have consequences, etc., WITHOUT destroying the country.
Gosh, do you think maybe Supreme Court Justice John Roberts was born in Kenya and secretly smuggled into this country after birth by Communist, trained in the finest schools while deceptively hiding his liberal views, then meticulously climbing the ladder of legal success to trick President Bush into selecting him as Chief Justice – just so he could rule ObamaCare constitutional? I’ve read the Constitution. I cannot find any provision for removing a federal judge other than for bad behavior. I don’t think that interpreting the Constitution in a way that is shocking or stunning defines bad behavior.
The federal government has the power to levy taxes. The Administration first tried to use the Commerce Clause and then switched to calling the penalty a tax and the majority of the Court bought the switch.
Where we go from here is anybody’s best guess. It will take a monumental Republican Party victory in November to gain the kind of governing majority needed to repeal.
Gracious. You liberals were playing a different tune when a Conservative does something Constitutionally-supportable but that you didn’t like. This was utterly UN-Consitutitional. Ignoring the Constitution isn’t bad behavior?

I’m a new member as of today. This decision is an outrage and goes far past Obamacare. Unfortunately, I fear we’re going to pay for this decision for decades to come.

This ruling shows the dept of corruption in Washington. The United States stands very close to having a country whereby its citizens are here solely to support those in government. To say this is a tax opens the door for congress to “Tax” us in any way they want for whatever they want. Now is the time for term limits for those who serve us, including the Supreme Court.
I am 63 and this is one of the saddest days of my life but, I devote my life to turning America around to become once again the great nation it was and will become again. Let this become our focus. To waste time on revenge or other non productive actions is foolish. Please, let’s unite in becoming single focused in returning The United States to again be the greatest nation on earth.
The Supreme Court really isn’t the problem. The problem is with politicians who’ll tax anything that moves and then tax it again when it dies. We have to elect politicians who are committed to reducing/repealing many taxes.
I believe that the people who voted for Barack Obama in 2008 knew exactly what they were voting for. If they are now having voters’ remorse, they can express it this November. In addition, there will have to be an upheaval larger than the November, 2010 vote in order to get a governing majority that can repeal ObamaCare. Failing that, we are stuck with it.
This cannot stand. The end of the ObamaCare road is a National Bankruptcy and a medical system so disfunctional you will not be able live long enough to get an appointment with a doctor.
We lost a chance at a quick fix today. Now our only option is electoral change. It will be hard and ugly and essential. Make no mistake, the Progressive Political Class intends for the Producing Class to be its servant.
This day is so sad, i can’t believe we are no longer, “The Land of the Free”!!!!! And, just to let all know, i called my reps, to ask the them to repeal all of Obama Care, and senator Durbin’s office was happy to announce that Dick Durbin of Illinois is in favor of the the ruling. i said he will be voted out for sure.
This shows that government now is no longer by the people and for the people. So called “Conservatives” are just as much to blame for this as is the Democratic party. The GOP keeps giving in and we as Americans need to make better choices when voting. Actually learn about who you vote for instead of doing straight tickets or just going with a familiar name. Do not be complacent with politics and your right to vote. Who knows, with todays ruling govt. may take away the public’s right to vote.? Think about it!!!

I have to concur with you Wayne. If our highest court decides that our constitution gives the OK to government’s ‘right’ to tax us on not buying healthcare, where does it stop? Now they can put wording in any law, saying it’s a tax and force us to do anything, or else we become outlaws.
When I heard the ruling, I cried and then prayed. Let our voices in West Virginia be heard. We have been nice and compliant towards our elected leaders for too long. They now believe they (both parties) have been given carte blanche to do anything they like. My elected officials, Saxby Chambliss and Sanford Bishop sit in our capitol not as part of a constitutional government but rather as nobles in the kings court, preening and feathering their own nests while pandering (and probably getting sweet reciprocation) to special interests and ignoring the will of those of us who have taken the time to learn the limits the constitution has placed on federal government.
Ok, I really loved you analogy there. I completely agree with you. The government seems to be looking more and more like a hierarchy then a democracy.

I do not want the government involved in my healthcare. Period.
Then you have to vote Republican this coming November. And, you have to hope that Republican majorities in both Houses of Congress will be large enough to support a repeal movement.

We have another recourse….the Tenth Amendment, we need, however, a Governor and Attorney General with the fortitude to tell The federal government to take a hike and NO to Obamacare.
Call the Governor’s office and your STATE Senator and Congressman and demand action against IMPLEMENTING OBAMACARE!
Are we going to have a National Day of Protest? I think those who were elected need to see Americans are not going to cave in and follow. Let us know and we will rally against this and against those who did this not only to me but my children and grandchildren. It amazes me that a select few (ie labor unions, congress, etc) are not included in this in just law. Let us know and we will get the word out!
Agreed. The time has come to ACT. Someone please explain – Why are there SO MANY different Tea Party organizations? Yes, we need to have a method to organize locally. However, there is strength in unity, and I am not seeing that happening here. Am I missing something?
The Tea Party and it’s supporters “engineered” the results of the November 2010 election that saw the House in control of the Republican Party, the Democrat majority in the Senate reduced, and numerous local office in control of Conservatives. However, the Republican Party primary for President was hijacked by the Republican Party “establishment” and the result is Mitt Romney who I believe to be a very flawed candidate. The Republican Party didn’t understand or closed it’s eyes to what happened in November, 2010. Thus a Presidential campaign that should have been a Republican walkaway appears to show Barack Obama as a competitive opponent. If Republicans lose in 2012, it is incumbent upon the Tea Party Movement and it’s supporters to forge a new Conservative alliance and, maybe, a new Conservative Party.
I have just joined the Tea Party because of this ruling. We must vote these people out that are taking away our freedom, abusing the constitution and destroying our country.
I live in the USA. Of course we the people do not vote out the SCOTUS. But come November the voice of the Tea Party will be heard around the world when tax and spend liberals in the House, Senate, governorships and the Presidency are given their walking papers. In time we will see Chief Justice Robert’s decision as a stroke of genius benefiting conservatism and in protecting the constitution for years to come.

He has stagnated the economy to the point of breaking and will increase taxes to pay a debt We the People did not create. The bailout was NOT applied on our behalf, it put money in foreign governments, corrupt banking systems, and industries that should have failed. The situation is so complicated I can barely wrap my head around it, or make a coherent statement about my own opinion. Now, Universal Healthcare (ie. Socialist Medicine) is just around the corner. How many people from other nations that followed this path to Communism flocked to OUR shores for a life worth living? The elitists are driving U.S. to destruction, and putting the bill in our future’s hands. I know there is nothing more demeaning to someone than being unemployed, unable to feed one’s own children, or care for them when they are sick. This situation, inherited or not from George Bush, is the setup Obama has exacerbated to drive fear and uncertainty into the hearts of a growing minority in the U.S. The media is feeding on this fear, and the elitists are taking advantage of it to oppress the productive and freedom-loving majority. Americans have a history of F*#$ing up oppressors.
In my opinion, if the government can force me to pay social security tax, they can force me to buy health care. BOTH are unconstitutional!!
Today the Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate in Obamacare by interpreting it as a Tax.
The full decision of the Court threw out the Obama’s 3 main arguments:
– They had the right to force people to purchase a product or service under the Interstate Commerce act: FAIL
– They had the right under the Necessary and Proper to the Welfare of the United States clause: FAIL
– That the mandate could not be challenged because of the Anti-Injunction Act: FAIL
The ONLY provision that saved the statute was the claim that Congress has the right to assess taxes.
According to historical precedent, the court will seek to use whatever reasonable interpretation of a law that will allow it to be constitutional. In the court’s own words, “We do not consider whether the Act embodies sound policies. That judgement is entrusted to the nation’s elected leaders. We ask only whether Congress has the power under the Constitution to enact the challenged provisions.”
Fine. If we don’t like a law, it is up to us to repeal it, not up to the Supreme Court to remove it. I wouldn’t want a court with 7 lib justices to repeal laws I like but they don’t, so their decision today is fine by me…only decide the Constitutionality, let us decide the content.

To the statement by tea party patriot organization, Absolutely! It was a ruling against the American people. It is a sad day for individual sovoreignty. However, we patriots must work hard to educate uneducated voters to elect policymakers who stand firmly to the constitution originally intended. Fire those politicians, keep firing, who advocate for an almighty, authoratative, centralize government!
WHY IS THE TEA PARTY NOT PUSHING FOR THIS?
A 50% Republican congress can simply pass a vote calling ObamaCare unconstitutional. That would get rid of it, and it can be done without the President.
How is it possible for so much disinformation about the healthcare law to be swallowed by so many fools. We have one of the worst healthcare systems (systems, not healthcare itself) in the developed world and you have a chance to make it better, and you cut your own throats. If this law is repealed, instead of built upon to make it better, there will be no healthcare reform for a generation and most everyone will suffer for it. Health insurance will become so expensive, no employer will offer it and only the rich will be able to afford the premiums.
I grew up an hour from TWO Canadian border-crossings. Whenever I went to the doctor’s office, the parking lot was FULL of Canadian license plates.
And you people think Canada should be our model.
Thank God for the Tea Party. Half the Republicans are Democrat plants so, I’m not all that confident they’ll repeal anything… They can’t even say “No” to raising the debt ceiling. Oh and, do we send a Thank You note to George Bush for Justice Roberts? If they win in November, the Republicans should impeach half the Supreme court for incompetance. I’m very disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision. However, there is a silver lining. Because of this decision, people are sure to be getting more involved in the coming election… and not in Obama’s favor. The Obamacare approval rating was low to begin with. After all, if you were to take a poll that asked “How many of you want to pay for the healthcare of someone else instead of putting that money to good use?” common sense says most people would answer “No.” However, now that’s it has passed through the Supreme Court nearly untouched, people are angrier than ever, and they’re becoming a lot more enthusiastic about the Republicans wanting to repeal it… particularly Mr. Romney. So, in short, yes this is an awful day in American history, but at least it nearly garuntees Obama as a one term president and we can get someone in the White House who will fix this mess.
Obamacare, Ndaa,Sopa, Obama’s executive order to grant amesity to illegal immigrants, and other unconstitutional laws must be stopped at once. We have nothing but tyrants in power that need to be removed from public office and then arrested for high crimes and treason against the american people we must put an end to judicial tyranny and police abuse must come to an end at once! I have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior and how can my fellow patriots who are hard working american citizens stand to put with this?
Funeral for the Constitution
In light of recent events this week it seems appropriate that we should have a funeral for the Constitution. If the Constitution can be wordsmithed to mean anything the court justices want it to mean, then it is no longer a governing document. The Constitution is now dead, so it is only appropriate that those who held the Constitution in high regard hold a proper funeral honoring its past life. It has served us well for over 200 years. It is a sad day to see it die.
Not sure how to get it started, but it seem right that across the country we should all carry caskets in the 4th of July parades in honor of this great document that has now died.

This describes John Roberts’ majority opinion in which he ruled that the individual mandate is not a tax when determining that the Anti-injunction Act did not apply, and in the same argument ruled that it is a tax and not a penalty in order to determine that the mandate is constitutional under the taxing authority of Congress.

I just can’t believe that we are no longer free. That American is no longer a free country. I came home last night from work and throw out all my American flags. I just can’t belive in a country that would force you to buy something. This is the worst thing that has ever and could ever happen to this country.
Don’t people understand what this means? Freedom and rights is not forcing you to do something. America will not last long now.
With respect to the auto insurance health insurance comparison – with the health insurance government will have control over a private industry – they will dictate who is to be insured, what coverage the insurer must provide, and the cost of insurance or force them out of business (which they intend to do anyway).
So the difference is that the government will once again prevent free market solutions and institute an (always) failed model of government controls. Not to mention that this is only one part of the equation – they will also begin to dictate what treatment you receive, whether you will receive treatment, and will send one of the recently hired 19,000 new IRS agents to your home if you don’t weasel under.
I believe more needs to be done than just a candidate’s written word to repeal Obamacare. I believe that the candidate shall also vow, in writing, to remove the Chief Justices that voted in favor of Obamacare with all due haste! These individuals, in my honest opinion, have declared war on our rights, and thus on the American people. An attack against our liberties is an attack on us. Furthermore, when Mr. Obama took his oath of office he swore to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” With all of his efforts to circumvent the Constitution, I believe he has forfeited his Office as President and needs to be removed by way of Impeachment.
