Preparing for the Obamacare Decision
June 25, 2012 at 8:13 am in News, ObamaCare by Tea Party Patriots 5 Comments

It is widely expected that the Supreme Court will hand down its decision on Obamacare either on Monday or Thursday of this week. Once the decision is announced, news will begin moving very quickly and your effort to ensure full repeal will be more critical than ever.
This post provides you with a number of resources in preperation for the decision as information becomes available. We all must be prepared to combat the leftist PR machine.
First, Tea Party Patriots will be holding 2 events following the announcement of the decision. If you live within a 2-hour drive of the Washington DC area, please sign up today for the Minutemen program. Immediately following the decision, we will alert the Minutemen to come to DC for a press conference on the steps of the Supreme Court. The press conference will be held just a few hours after the decision to make sure our voice is heard. Your presence at the court on this historic will provide a counter balance to the hired activists of the left.
Additionally, Tea Party Patriots will hold a Tele-Townhall meeting within 48 hours of the Supreme Court decision. You can sign up now for this free Tele-Townhall where you’ll hear from Jenny Beth Martin, Tea Party Patriots Co-Founder and National Coordinator anday cited guests: Senator Rand Paul, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, and Congressman Steve King. They will discuss the implications of the decision and the next steps to health care reform. Click here to sign up to be notified for the tele-townhall.
This weekend the Wall Street Journal had a good background piece that lays out the four most likely outcomes for the Supreme Court:
Scenario #1: The entire law is upheld.
Scenario #2: The insurance mandate is struck down, but the rest of law stays.
Scenario #3: The mandate and two related provisions are struck down but the rest of the law stays.
Scenario #4: The entire law is struck down.
The article is worth reading to get an understanding of the most likely outcomes.
Another great resource is www.SCOTUSBlog.com. This is live blog that you can check during days the Supreme Court is announcing decisions to get up-to-the-minute information on what decisions the Court is announcing that day.
And just a few hours after the decision is announced, there will be a Tweet Up on Twitter from 1:00-2:00 pm (EST). The hashtag #judgementday will be used on a “Tweet Up” of health policy scholars, activists, opinion leaders, and think tankers. It will be a chance to ask scholars questions about the decision and discuss the real health reform that comes next.
And finally, check out the Heritage Foundation blog the afternoon following the decision. It is likely that the decision will be a very complicated ruling and take hours for lawyers and policy experts to analyze to determine what the ruling will mean. The Heritage Foundation blog will have experts reading through the bill and posting as information comes available.
We hope you will find these resources helpful as we prepare for the Supreme Courts ruling on Obamacare.

I just hope and pray Justice Kennedy has the guts to do what is right because he would be the only one who would fear pissing off the left………Obamacare is a multi trillion dollar grab for power and control and must be dismantled.
This president is so out of touch with the “American ” people. I pray every day that God will be in control of this situation and that this entire thing is struck down and that we will get Obama out of the White House, NEVER to return again!
It was announced on monday June 25 that the Obamacare ruling will come on thursday the 28th. Why hasn’t Tea Party Patriots already put out a rallying cry for patriots to get to Washington to be at the Supreme Court when the ruling is delivered. I hate to be critical but the lack of even an update on this site is sad. I’m already in Washington…there were only about 1-2 dozen people at the court yesterday…absolutely pitiful representation of those opposed to the healthcare takeover. I am VERY dissappointed by the lack of information from Tea Part Patriots and Freedomworks to rally a strong showing. Have these groups gotten too just like the gevernment – too big at the top to relaize what is going on on the ground?
If we don’t stand together now, we will lose this country.
Lisa,
The Tea Party Patriots you saw in DC yesterday were the State Coordinators who were in DC for a conference.
There are many reasons why a rallying cry might not be announced. One of them is we cannot just call for people to come every time an announcement or issue surfaces. There are a lot of logical reasons why. If we wish a turnout in protest on the level you are wishing, takes a lot of coordination and MONEY.
Their are a lot of other factors to consider too. So many factors that many are not aware of. If we did a call for a huge turnout, and got one, just how much media attention would we get? Remember how the biggest protest in history was represented on 9/12/2009? The media banded together and claimed there was only 30,000 when in reality there was 1.3 million attending and it took a Capitol Police helicopter photo to be scrutinized by the British media to validate how many Tea Partiers where actually in attendance. Can we call for such a attendance level on Obamacare and then have other claims of those disappointed by our failure to get accurately when we do have a large representation?
No, the TPP is carefully discussing how to make a call for a huge turnout. Should we keep it TPP or allow a co sponsorship? These factors are a fraction of how to make a decision along the line of what you are asking. The TPP is at this time trying to identify an ‘action team’ or ‘minute man’ response team that the TPP can count on to respond.
Just one of a long list of important issues, projects and items to address.
Lisa if you are within a few hours of DC, and can respond when called, we would love you to contact us to include you (or anyone capable) to be a member of the response team.
