Obamacare Impact: Are we rationing away quality care?

This is the first in a series of stories about how Obamacare will impact the lives of ordinary Americans. Here is the story of Hans from Kentucky:
Born in Germany-occupied Poland and raised in Germany for the first ten years of his life, Hans migrated to England, where he became a naturalized British citizen at the age of 15.
While Hans and his wife enjoyed aspects of England, including running an inn in North Yorkshire, it was a visit to see friends in the United States in 1976 that changed his life forever. During his visit to Atwood, California, Hans attended a city council meeting. He was greatly struck by the concept that people within their own city had influence and control over local city decisions – a concept that was foreign to him, since most things were run out of London. So moved by the idea of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, Hans and his wife moved to the United States within 2 months of their visit.
As Hans reflects on his experiences in both countries, there is one stark difference – healthcare. His wife’s sister, who still resides in England, has endured the ills of the country’s government-run healthcare system. For several weeks, Hans’ sister-in-law suffered from headaches. It took more than two months for her to see an actual physician, who spent only 4 ½ minutes with her. No testing, no scan, nothing – just a generic diagnosis that left her with little peace of mind. Contrast that story with Hans’ double-knee replacement surgery, which he received a month after his diagnosis.
Knowing what the system is like in England, Hans is concerned about the effects of Obamacare and the direction it will take our healthcare system. Due to cost-control measures in England, the rationing of care in England is real, and it is the senior population that is mostly affected. Hans wonders if he and his fellow peers will face the same fate as those in England, if Obamacare becomes a reality.
While the fate of Obamacare hangs in the hands of the Supreme Court, one thing is for sure. Like the seniors in England whose eyes are being opened to the rationing of their care and are now pushing back, Hans will continue to fight for our healthcare freedom in America.

We need to follow the Constitution laws, stop the lies to the American people. We heard it all during the Presidential debates. If government can’t control spending, then use SSA to balance the national debt and don’t manage medicare, what makes any of us believe this administration can make a national healthcare system that is true, accurate and right for, “We the People?” Wake up America, the lies you hear today, may be the
lies you have to live tomorrow!
Obama care is meant to bankrupt the health insurance companies with the ultimate goal of a “single payer” govt. run “healthcare” system. Rationing will be a fact of life….or death….months to just get an appt. There will be a severe doctor shortage. The quality of care will nosedive as the federal debt skyrockets. Medical research will slow due to lack of funding. Emergency rooms will be full of runny noses and hangnails 24/7…….why not…after all its free right. BUT YOUR KIDS CAN STAY ON YOUR POLICY UNTIL THEY ARE 26!!!!…..so its all good!!…………liberal logic…..oxymoron!
Do people forget how BO see’s the elderly? Obama: Old people don’t need life saving treatments they can take a pain pill (and be left to die) Posted by iusbvision on June 26, 2009.
The wannabe king needs to go.
What is especially hard to accept is how anyone who voted for this bill thought it was constitutional. The entire process used proves that our big goal should be to, as the founder’s wanted, ‘bind congress’s hands with the Constitution’. How can it be allowed for a ‘representative’ to vote for a bill they do not completely understand, much less ‘You have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it?
That being said, folks need to understand that health insurance is the PROBLEM. Basic economics teaches us that when someone else is paying the bill, people don’t care about the costs. If there was no health insurance, services would necessarily be priced at what an average person could afford to pay out of pocket.
The first step in addressing Heath Care is to take away the free bees from the Washington governing elite. Our pain should be their pain. We also need to get the government back from the special interests. We cannot compete with big money in the government. Fixing anything entails a fair playing field which is not there. Find allies like the LIBERTARIANS , Green party etc who will vote in a block to restore the powers to the people. Wage a campaign to expose those politians who take money from corporations and then work to further the agenda of that corporation. You can’t compete with
big money. Make it illegal to take money from special interests. You will never further your ideas in a system that is stacked against you-(we the people)! The ideological fixes have to come first !
