Congress moves to block Obama’s executive amnesty order

Within days of President Obama’s move to unilaterally implement amnesty for illegal immigrants, Congress has responded by introducing legislation to stop it.
On Friday, June 15, 2012, President Obama and Janet Napolitano, Head of the Department of Homeland Security, announced they will “stop deporting and begin granting work permits to younger illegal immigrantswho came to the U.S. as children and have since led law-abiding lives”. Secretary Napolitano explained individuals would be required to prove through verifiable documentation they meet the qualifications. Applicants would have to have come to the U.S. prior to age 16, must not be over 30 years old, and have continuously resided in the United States for at least the past five years. They estimate it will affect 800,000 individuals.
The following Monday Ben Quayle (R-AZ) introduced the “Prohibiting Back-Door Amnesty Act” (H.R. 5953). The bill is aimed at restricting broad policy changes without legislative action. The immediate goal is to prevent the implementation of the President’s controversial executive order.
Proponents of the H.R.5953 cite it would be difficult for applicants to produce legitimate documents since they have been here illegally. They go on to state that if the border is not closed first, then we can expect a substantial increase of illegal immigrants arriving to take advantage of amnesty so the 800,000 estimate is low. Furthermore, adding a large group of illegal immigrants to the workforce would worsen the plight of the 23 million Americans who are already unemployed and having difficulty finding jobs.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer described the new policy as “backdoor amnesty” and criticized Obama for making what she said was a preemptive strike against the anticipated Supreme Court ruling of SB 1070, Arizona’s strict immigration-enforcement legislation. “The crux of SB 1070 is documentation. (The president is) going to give documentation to nearly one million people who have arrived in the country illegally,” she said. “The timing is unbelievable.”
John Campbell (R-CA) has signed as a cosponsor. His position on amnesty is, “People who came to this country illegally must not be rewarded for their illegal behavior with a blanket policy of amnesty. This is neither fair nor just; especially to those who immigrated to the United States properly and chose to come to this country under the prescribed legal guidelines.”
Supporters of President Obama’s directive state it is imperative that we address the large number of children brought to the U.S. by illegal immigrant parents. These are children without a country. They go to school here but cannot qualify to get a job once they graduate because they have no legal documents. Yet, they are foreigners to their parent’s country of origin since they have lived their entire life in the U.S.
Conservative Coalition representative, Desare Ferraro, commented “we know this is just a political election maneuver –both Obama’s decree and the Repub’s bill, since nothing will come of the bill, except that it will go on record as an effort by some Repubs to block Obama’s back door amnesty.”
The bill has been referred to the House Committee on Judiciary.

Arizona has been thrown under the bus by the Supreme Court, President Obama and Janet Napolitano. The federal government has pretty much said “you’re on your own, we won’t help you.” It has turned its back on Arizona for political gain. It is stunning to realize that ILLEGAL immigrants are being coddled at the expense of LEGAL US citizens. Why are they more important than us? I cannot imagine where we are headed as a nation, but it doesn’t look good.
Let’s all call and email DOJ that they have to enforce the laws. Tell them that we do not like what they are doing with Arizona and the country.

He lost his life and the govt. was guilty in this scam to attack our 2nd. Amd. This operation was flawed from the beginning. Guns were not tracked, put in hands of criminals, Mexico was not notified, and some 200 innocent
Mexician citizens were also killed because of these wayward, and unaccounted guns. We the
American people are seeking who authorized this operation and expect all, and ALL who were involved, go to jail for a long time….

The problem with all the republican posturing is nothing will happen. Just like with Nullification, states no longer hold the power, fortitude nor the inclination to nullify a federal law or regulation. Until PATRIOTS SPILL BLOOD state rights will suffer. The Civil War was the last expression of states rights, When General Lee surrendered states rights died.Arizona stands alone against the Federal Stupidity that is the Obama Administration. Until more states stand with Arizona nullification will died a slow painful death.

Might as well write letters to Obama too. They’re ruling by decree, subverting duly passed statutory law, the Constitution, and the core idea of the Republic, and betraying their moral and legal duties to fellow citizens in favor or disloyal interest groups like the “U.S.” Chamber of Commerce and the corrupt Mexican ruling kleptoclass. But you think they’re going to fear your angry letter? Get real.
Republicans should be holding impeachment hearings right now, and any legislator who will not call this impeachable subversion is dishonoring his own oath. The only thing that matters is ousting legislators who will not fully honor their oath. Writing letters to Obama or the DOJ is an idiotic waste of time.
I considerate my job to be on this iPad everyday trying my best to WAKE UP these progressives, liberals who live in their little bubbles, & don’t seem to have a clue as to what is going on & what this administration wants to do to our United States of America. There are more homeless veterans & more illegal immigrants living with a roof over there heads, have jobs, go to school, etc. Makes me sick, & it’s like a trade off for Obama votes. I feel like I am beating my head against a wall. And I don’t understand why there are so many liberals on my FB page. Some of them even try to tell me I can’t make a comment because I’m a hater WTF ?

NULLIFY OBAMA!
All that needs to be done is for Speaker Boehner to commission an investigative committee in the Judiciary Committee under Chairman Lamar Smith and demonstrate Obama is not a citizen and is an illegal alien. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has done the work to prove such! When Obama is proven to be illegal all of his administration and “official” acts will be null and void. Kagan and Sotomeyor will be removed, Obamacare will be nullified and the Black Communist will be convicted of falsifying his life (lying) and be deported or jailed.
