Wisconsin Schools Find Surplus in Free markets!

Fiscal Responsibility and Free Markets helps some Wisconsin school districts turn deficits to surpluses. A big win shows how Tea Party Patriots’ core principles can restore and rebuild America!
Remember the violent and disgusting demonstrations over Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker doing away with collective bargaining for Teacher’s unions? The results are in. Some school districts went from a $400,000 deficit to a $1,500,000 surplus as a result. They are even hiring new teachers, not firing like the Liberals said would happen. Why?
It seems that the insurance company that provided all the “so-called” benefits to the teachers was an insurance company owned and operated by the teacher’s union. Since the outfit was guaranteed to get the insurance business from the teachers, and the State had to pay for it (not the teachers) the insurance company was increasing annual costs every single year to become the most expensive insurance company in the state. Then the company was donating millions and millions of dollars to its favorite democrat politicians who, when they got elected, guaranteed to keep funding the union’s outrageous costs. In other words, the insurance company was a “pass through” for Wisconsin taxpayer money directly to the democrat politicians.
Nice racket, and this is the racket that is going on in every single State that allows collective bargaining. No wonder the States are taking it away. Now the State of Wisconsin is free to put the insurance contract out for bids and, lo and behold, they have saved so much money it has turned deficits into surplus amounts. As a result, none of the teachers had to be laid off, everyone got a raise, etc., etc., and the taxpayers of Wisconsin don’t have to pay more taxes to fund the union’s political ambitions.
Liberals are keeping really quiet about this! Read more about it in the Washington Examiner article by Bryon York.

We never hear about the positive effects of this. Great article.
This is all a part of the monopolies that will exist in the Free Market. It is just a natural gravitation of the system. It can be Unions, Corporations, Private Business, etc. You Tea Party people really do not understand the history of the system you advocate. Ever hear of Standard Oil? Corruption exist at all levels, Local, State, and Federal,e.g.. Republicans and Democrats both benefit from lobbying. Insurance, now there is a fraudulent industry. What can a person expect from an Industry that originated with the Mafia? Like I said in another post on this site “The Free Market is at the apex of a Social Darwinist system” similar to National Socialism . Note similar which means not exactly. Here is some controversy for you Free Market advocates. Why did the U.S.Free Market system fail in 1929? By the way, Why did Walker talk to a fake Koch brother (Ian Murphy) ? I could never call Walker’s office and get through to the Governor. Could it be Special Interest?
Thank You. I actually did hear about this surplus on one schools insurance budget. 1.5 million dollars saved. Wow. As Karen Dowling just commented, we never get to hear this, but this time some of it got out. We need to make sure that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker beats the recall effort so Wisconsin can begin showing real savings impacts and exposing the unions for what they are. A scam against the majority in their state.
You said that ” everyone got a raise, etc., etc.,”
Could you actually cite that? In what areas did teachers see their income increase? In most cases, actually, teachers take-home salary went down.
I’d love to see instances where teachers are making more money- please e-mail them or update your article with links!
Not ever state can expect a bale out like this. Teachers everywhere are getting fired, and our children are not getting the education that they need. Children are the future of this country. Not all Americans have the money to send their children to privet schools. Public federal funded schools are struggling to stay open. Teachers are being forced to take on pay cuts and forty kids to a class room. Kids are not getting their work done do to the lack of text books, and you wounder why the drop out rate is so outrageous. It’s great what they did in Wisconsin but what about the other states? while we’re on the subject of school systems. The Republicans believe that school is just babysitting. This young stage of life is where the human brain absorbs the most information. If you want to start budget cuts don’t take it away from the school system, at least not while Bush sr, Clinton, and Bush jr, are still receiving the presidential pay. Government spending has become a joke
The educational system in this country is terrible. We are the laughingstock of the world in terms of education. Most of Europe has lager governments…..but they also have better education…….sooooooooooooo if they are better educated and choose to have a larger gov, then doesn’t that mean we should do the same , or at least try to increase education? Jesus the human Capitol of American has gone down the gutter, and we are being surpassed by the Asian giants. Congrats tea party people! Your “unions are evil” ideology has had success in one state…it’s just a shame that your children are becoming dumber becAuse of it
