In the early 1600’s, the societies of Europe were the earth’s intellectual leaders. Their idea of improving societal growth was taxes and religious restrictions. Rewarding self achievement was non-existent.
People wanting to climb a ladder of success, that didn’t exist, finally packed up and fled to the new world. They knew they might die but the desire for freedom and a chance to establish their own destiny was more important than living under a system where every aspect of their life was dependent on rulers or educators promoting government philosophy.
The desire for freedom of religion and self reliance founded today’s America and became the greatest experiment in self reliance and human freedom ever established on earth. Later, they sent their sons to die in two wars, on the same lands they had fled. After the wars, they cheered while rebuilding the war-torn cities.
The American spirit of freedom started to fade when President Johnson, a Democrat, committed troops to the Vietnam War. Many of the American youth became flower children and demonstrations much like the ‘OWS’ (Occupy Wall Street) of today dominated the news. Flag-burning and spitting on the military were the images seen on world-wide TV, also promoted by Hollywood and supported by educators.
Respect for American leadership suffered greatly with Nixon’s Watergate and Clinton’s definition of ‘is’, but nothing was as damaging to our Republic as the ‘hanging chad’ debacle.
The process of American free elections is now seen as a world-wide lie. It has been discredited by a political party’s desire to win. Machines without a paper trail have replaced paper ballots. The Socialists are fighting to make identification requirements for voting illegal and the current Attorney General is defending their actions. ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) has falsified voting records and the Black Panthers have been given poll-watching privileges by Attorney General Eric Holder who refuses to prosecute them for intimidating people arriving at a polling place.
Will history repeat itself? You bet it will when you have college-level educators teaching government spin to our youth and offering encouragement to demonstrators with a disregard for the rights of others.
Deficits have caused job eliminations in many American state governments. In Georgia, under the leadership of Secretary of State Brian Kemp, offices with personnel doing the same work were merged. Many positions were eliminated and some offices completely closed, coming close to a balanced budget (Washington needs to talk to Kemp.) In Wisconsin, the teachers who see the benefit of Governor Scott Walker’s actions are being persecuted by the teacher’s union. It is so severe that some have resigned.
The Political elite spin ‘tax the rich’ then they support the payroll tax holiday which depletes the Social Security trust fund, already bankrupt. They brag about the three percent increase in 2012 Social Security payments to seniors. A vote-getting gimmick that depletes the Social Security reserves by five percent. Then they spin, ‘Republicans are trying to destroy Social Security.’
The town hall meetings dealing with the salvation of the American system are rarely attended by the political elite. They would rather sit in their ivory tower and support regulations that stop projects like the oil pipeline from Canada, and support regulations that potentially destroy the American economy. The American Constitutional government and capitalistic system is the only salvation for self-reliance and the world economy.
If the Political elite have their way, Obama will win another four years, unless the Constitutional conservatives wake up and counter the class warfare of Obama. Obama will spin the payroll tax by saying the Republicans fought a tax break for the middle class when in fact it greatly affects benefits for the retired seniors. His drums will beat even harder for redistribution of wealth by ‘taxing the rich.’
If history repeats, will self reliant, God-fearing, family-oriented families have somewhere to migrate?

There is no where to go. Our backs are to the beach and the ships are burning. We must press on. Yes. History repeats itself. Stand up, speak up and pray. The battles in front of us are no different from the ones Washington faced. There may be as much blood shed.
The Constitution is under attack. We the people are under attack. Wake up America.
Hi Bruce, that is why the Tea Party was formed. I am an independent and voted all Tea Party last election. I’m am so tired of voting one way or the other just to get the politicains who made promises for my vote they didn’t keep out. It has been like this for too many years now. The election before that, I voted for McCain because I felt Obama didn’t have the know how, plus he didn’t even do his job in the Senate, 75% absentee voter and you don’t get my vote just because PC tells me to. I’m not a sheep either, you want my vote, do your job and there have been too many republicans and democrates not doing their job. Making promises they don’t keep just to get voted in. I was so disappointed when the Republicans had control and didn’t do anything to help me, the middle class. I joined the Tea Party to get out the old and put in the new. People who kept their word. To be honest I don’t think Newt will get the independent vote and I’m scared. I haven’t forgotten the contact with America and I won’t when it’s time to vote.
Although our Constitution is very important, please understand that we do not get our rights from the Constitution. We get them from God. We claimed our rights in the Declaration of Independence.
Our Constitution was not drafted to give us our rights. It was drafter to limit the actions of the Federal Government against us.
Now you might understand why the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia hate our Constitution and God. They go together.
This is not a religious lesson. It is an historical fact.

Agreed. Newt is part of the old. As an independant I really don’t think I can vote for him. I haven’t forgotten that during the Bush years republicans had control of everything and forgot all about the promises they made. I don’t want to go back. Lets keep moving forward.
When will the Tea Party start voter registration campaign, just like Obama did it to get into offiice?
I’m really excited that the New England Patriots have started a national website. The info is great and I feel good to be an American! Football should be more than just about sports, it should include more about how to be a good American and what to believe. Go Patriots!

I really liked how you started this piece. However, I think that the demonstrations by Occupy Wall St. protestors are important in uniting our citizens. OWSers and Tea Party-ers have a lot in common, actually (when you take out the spin on the demographic.) Ron Paul 2012. End The Fed.
Sorry Cameron, as an independent I was real happy to see the occupy movement rise, but they really haven’t made as an impact at all. Just made fools out of themselves really. I don’t think you can compare them at all with the Tea Party. As for Paul, no thanks.

It sounds like you have great spirit and I agree with you on most points.
This idea of” throw them all out” is a bit weak. We have all seen what a novice in power can do to our country. The reality is, that there are many good people in Washington but it is almost impossible to function if you go against the Washington insiders. I am talking about the press, the lobbyist, even members of your own party that have been bought and paid for by the establishment .
You say you remember the “Contract with America”. And you seem to think it was a bad thing. Could you please explain? I lived in Washington at the time and was astounded when the Media and the establishment dissed Newt on the contract.
I believe that all of the people that got sucked in by of the crap about the “Contract on America” were drinking the Kool-Aid.
One of the problems at that time was the America people thought the media was right and dealt with integrity . We all know now how wrong that assumption was.

One of the things he did was eliminate about 3.500 jobs on Capitol Hill but I do not remember that causing a national crisis. It sure pissed off a lot of congressmen in both parties because they lost their pretty little pet office staff.

What Bruce Brown said is enshrined in the Declaration Of Independence.
When the Founders laid the groundwork for our republic, they stated in the final words of the Declaration of Independence:
And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
And indeed they lost fortunes, their lives and families so you could have the right to attack Bruce Brown and other Americans who, like our Forefathers, have the courage of their conviction about the Declaration, our Constitution and the fundamental human right to liven in freedom and liberty. We do not accept being subservient subjects of an elitist army of government bureaucrats.
By the way when it comes to violence recent events in California did not involve the tea party. It came from the left. And Mr Hoffa even threatened to “take out” tea party folks. Did you consider that may be what Bruce Brown is talking about.

No question about it! History is repeating … add in a splash of China, a nip of Iran, an ounce of nukes and a current dash of appeasement. Wish I had a place to run too, as my gggggggggg-grandfather did in 1623 when he came and helped settle Salem, MA. He found his freedom and I’m looking for mine!
History usually does repeat itself, just a few generations later… People forget that we came here to America to escape tyrants and a system that pinned people into jobs that their family had for generations. No Freedom, and No Religious Freedom.
People were ready for real change, not just someone saying ‘Let them eat cake” when there was a depression, and people were starving, yet their leaders were living a very different lifestyle in their capital city… Very Out Of Touch With What Was Happening In Their Country.

The same politics that have set you on this agenda are the same politics that made a mayor in a small town, the city of Troy, in Michigan decline an 8.5 million dollar stimulus package, stating that the money is a burden and federal handouts are never free.

Crippling who’s way of life Mayor Daniels? Denying the money that would have contributed to a transit system that would connect the city to Detroit and Chicago making it easier for its citizens to commute to new jobs. Denying poor citizens opportunities at new careers and success. Opening up a new chance at freedom for Americans who can’t afford to buy a vehicle because GOP republicans and backwoods Tea Party politicians want to keep the money flowing to the top?

First off, it was freedom FROM religious persecution that people were fleeing from and I believe, if I’m not mistaken, That an experiment is a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact. Also, experiments aren’t established. They are enacted. People weren’t “experimenting” to see if they could establish their freedom but if you really want to use that term, allow me to speak your language so that you can try to understand my logic (which of course you won’t because Tea Party people don’t have the ability to comprehend both sides of an argument) . The experiments established by Africans enslaved by these new Americans, and the Americans who believed that enslaving human beings is wrong, is actually the “one of” the greatest struggle for self-reliance and freedom from oppression.

You make some sound points and then you totally screw it up. You are absolutely right when you say people came to this country for freedom from religion. And the idea that government money has a pox on it is narrow minded conservative populist garbage.
Look at our Interstate highway system and the TVA. The problem is, you state sound ideas and then you go viral.
There is something fundamentally wrong with people that get on a forum just prove they are right and every one else is wrong. There is also something disjoined in the mind of those that like to put other people down. I have done this in my past but as I have grown older, I realize how hurtful this can be to others. There are so many errors in this way of thinking. Concerning your first paragraph.
Right out of Feudalism where landowners or Land Lords, Kings, and Religious Leaders with a few minor power structures in between, with a primary objective of ruling with an iron hand sort of speak for their own self interest. Most of these rulers believed God, the Judea o-Christian Trinitarian one that is, gave them the right to rule. The replacement is the Corporate Infrastructure along with the Political aspect in the U.S. and Europe, and almost the entire globe. Lobbyist are proof of Corporate and other special interest rule. Not much different than Feudalism and the Ancient World, where the people with the largest amount of wealth= resources have the most influence. As for religious leaders there are many that back the Corporate Infrastructure . One only has to look at the Prosperity Gospel to see it, plus other examples, I could list. It is just one form of Elitism for another at a point in time. Elitism still exist. To deny that it does not in the U.S. is just a colossal state of ignorance.

Not really. Many people were suppressed by the power establishment with the carry over from the Feudal system. The ideas proposed by Adam Smith didn’t occur for over another century and a half. At the advent of the Industrial Revolution the incentive for more common people to seek riches started to occur in the U.S. and Europe. Problem was and still is that it takes money to make money, and many good inventions were crushed because of insufficient funding or special interest.

Deficits will continue. It is all part of the game that is played. On the other hand, debt is inherent in the system. Don’t believe it? How does the banking institution exist? By creating debt. Really is very simple. Of course, Unions are the ruination of this country. They should have never started during the Gilded Age. Bring back the good old days like Matewan, Triangle Waist Shirt Factory, e.g. when making the buck is all that matters for the greater good of humanity. What about technological outsourcing? Did you or any of your subscribers think of technology’s impact on the job market?

Which God? Obviously, there is nowhere else to migrate except entry into another Political Boundary, and/or perhaps a totally different culture. Even though the Global Economy has helped to make cultural differences more transparent because all use the money god.
In conclusion, the “Political Elite” are really ruled by the Corporate Elite which are ruled by an Aristocracy and some that are called Meritocracy. Not much has really changed in history except technology. It is all a matter of who can play the game the best. Free Market Capitalism is really at the apex of Social Darwinism. Much like the Nazism that the U.S. and others fought against. One pointed a real gun and the other points the money gun first denying those that do not have money resources for life. Then, if necessary the real gun is used if needed. It is all about “The Bottom Line” not human concern. Read “War is a Racket” by General Smedley Butler for the behind the scenes of the war business.
Those people who the Pilgrims fled from actually followed them to the New World. We fell asleep and enabled them to take over our country.
Under the Constitution for the United States of America, we are not supposed to be taxed directly. Those who taxed us indirectly commited TREASON.

Will history repeat? With a 99% confidence interval, I can state that it already has. If we study history, we would be at odds determining if those who were on the Mayflower were fleeing religious persecution, or were rather being driven out of Europe because they, like many of the far right conservatives today just can’t tolerate anything less than strict adherence to their particular brand of religious patriotism. I am not convinced that the social issues that seem to be so divisive should be a part of the conservative movement. Conservatives are devouring one another over issues that belong in the Churches, not in the political arenas. What conservatives should be talking about are reducing the roles of government (including returning to the individual states the rights to address social issues) Realizing that the constitution only gives the federal government limited powers to regulate interstate commerce, provide for defense, coin money, lets get back to talking about this……if we frame our conversation around the constitutional limited government, and stop talking about why we hate gay marriage, feudalism, the 1%, lets talk about what we CAN do, not about what we hate and are against. There will be enough things to divide. Lets get behind something. We were told to vote for Bob Dole because it “Was his turn”. and to vote for John McCain “because he was a better alternative” than Barack Obama”. I for one am tired of voting against some one. The last person who stood up and gave me a reason to vote for him was Reagan. I’m waiting for someone to give me a reason to vote for them, and not out of fear for the end of civilization as we know it. We might not like the additional social programs that Obama will add if he is given 4 more years, but I don’t think that the world will end because of them. Another world wide economic crash similar to 1928 is possible, but I don’t see the end of the world.,
