Florida Activists Voted Following Presidential Tele Forum
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Tea Party Patriots, the nation’s largest tea party organization, announced that Newt Gingrich leads their Tea Party Straw Poll in Florida with 35 percent of the vote following Sunday night’s Tea Party Patriots Presidential Tele Forum which featured questions by Florida activists and leaders of Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum (Ron Paul was invited but could not attend). Nearly 6,000 Tea Party activists in Florida participated in the call, and 600 voted in the Straw Poll. Tea Party Patriots do not endorse candidates, but the Straw Poll provides a snapshot of Florida Tea Party Patriots activists.
“Last night’s Tele Forum and Straw Poll demonstrated again that the tea party values are winning in America,” said Jenny Beth Martin, Co-Founder and National Coordinator for Tea Party Patriots. “The three participating candidates all pledged to decrease spending below the current spending level their first fiscal year in office, and vowed to repeal government controlled health care. As long as tea party supporters hold the elected officials accountable, regardless of whom is elected, our priorities will be addressed.”
Straw Poll results:
Question: If the election were held today, who would you vote for?
Newt Gingrich 35%
Rick Santorum 31%
Mitt Romney 18%
Ron Paul 11%
Undecided/None of the Above 5%
(Results are rounded to nearest percentage point.)

Each candidate in succession had 10 minutes on the call to respond to questions selected by Florida tea party activists and leaders, and had the last 90 seconds reserved for a closing statement. Gingrich’s numbers are plumeting with each aditional lie he tells. He started off calling Mitt a Moderate, now he has resorted to calling him a Liberal. Newt has been caught on national TV in one lie after another. He has promised everybody everything except the moon….ooops, now it seems he has even promised that. Promises, promises he seems to be good at making them?
I wonder if he has the same play book as Obama, since he is usuing a similar stratergy? He attacks the wealthy, and expects the poor to jump on board and vote for him….like he is not wealthy himself.
Now that he has self imploded I wonder if the tea Party will at last support Mitt Romney against our real enemy….Barrack Obama?
Dear Noveldog,
Romney? Really? Out of all the GOP candidates, only one has consistently stood by the constitution, and it’s not Mitt, whose Romneycare was the model for the Obamacare Tea parties profess to despise. Newt has also long been on record as favoring an individual mandate for health insurance. As I look through the TPP website, I find little support for the one obviously different-from-Obama and loyal-to-the-constitution candidate at all, despite the ideological rhetoric I have heard at Tea party protests. I find this strange.
i agree with you, very strange. this is the first time i have really thought of politics and even i can see who the best candidate is and its not MItt, Newt, Rick or Obama. when i look at these guys i just don’t feel nothing for them. i used to watch bill until i seen how biased he is towards Ron Paul.
Your poll is not accurate. Romney will win the Florida Primary.
I got to say- it confuses me why Tea Party Patriots are so willing to support someone with Newt’s voting record…. Just the bailouts alone are enough to turn me off! I’ll vote for whoever wins the nomination but it boggles my mind how the candidates that have the longest history of going against the TPP’s core values garner the most support while the 1 person who has consistently stood up for constitutionally limited government, free markets and fiscal responsibility over the past 30 years gets snubbed… Anyone have any insight on this?
James I have to agree with you, it really seems to be very odd after watching the Floridian debate and seeing newts responces and behavior just blows my mind as to why anyone would vote for him. He has got to be the most unethical politcian up there. He didn’t have any logical response to anything you could see the bullshit right through him. And the one person who actually has stood up for tea party actuall beliefs is slammed in this… hmm this seems to be a little bias….
James, sadly it baffles me as well. I’m always shocked to see how the republican base and TPP, the guys who REALLY started to embrace the whole idea of liberty and bringing financial responsibility to our future generations, have ultimately turned their backs on them. I used to be proud to be a part of the Tea Party and defended what they stood for no matter what issue was brought up. I TRULY thought this was a turning point. Unfortunately, it is only safe to assume the 1. it has been taken over by neocons, who talk the talk, but when it comes down to business, sell out for the sake of special interests. Or 2. The powers that be have so distorted the truth so much so that the Tea Party that WAS for the true message of liberty and prosperity died off, for the sake of just electing ANYONE that can yell at Obama. I’m truly ashamed now to have defended these people with such passion after seeing these results…
I think because there is no clear Tea Party Candidate and people know we have to get Obama out of office. People are concerned about Paul’s age ( though he looks young and healthy to me), and his foreign policy ~ at least everyone I have talked to. I also wonder if Newt’s debating skills have played a huge role, because lets face it he can out debate Obama easily. Paul is not so great at debate. Besides the fact that Newt has been out of office for a long time and admitted he made some bad choices in office. I think his willingness to admit his mistakes resonates with people.
I’m confused…what bailouts did Newt support and vote in favor of? Since he’s not been in public office since…oh, I don’t know…1996 or 98. He certainly can’t be considered a career politician like someone who’s been in office for say 30 years or so. Didn’t the bail outs occur in 2008, 09 and 10?
I agree with you, the one candidate who is rock solid with the 3 core principles of the Tea Party is ranked last in support. I think that makes us look very bad and unreliable. Worse, we can’t agree who to support so we dissipate our voting strength.
Most comments I read from Tea Party members think we are still doing pretty good overall. Yes, the GOP candidates might pay us lip service, but I don’t think they really take us very seriously any more. Bachmann was another strong supporter of the Tea Party in Congress, and she was forced out of the race early from lack of support.
Rather than try and change the big government, Progressive GOP into a truly limited government, conservative Party, we might have to either start a separate 3rd Party or join a conservative 3rd Party. Then we can insure our Party nominee will fit our 3 main principles and we can focus our votes on that candidate & show more strength.
I’d vote for Rick Santorum today.
I *did* vote for Rick Santorum today. He’s the only one whose trust issues do not revolve around the 3 biggest Tea Party issues: Obamacare, the bailouts, and cap & trade!
Stay Strong, Santorum! This tea partier is behind you 100%!
Santorum is the one! I keep hearing the same tired argument, “I like Santorum, but he can’t win or I would vote for him.” What makes anyone believe Santorum cannot win? He can win if people would follow their conscience and vote for him.
If you have a gut feeling, the one I keep hearing, you should listen to it. Listen to that small voice. They said Ronald Reagan could not win. They warned people…do not to vote for Reagan, because it would be a wasted vote. Thank God, people did not listen. Ronald Reagan was a wonderful President and we can have another wonderful president. We do not have to settle for second or third best. We can vote for someone that would make America proud. Someone we would be happy to have lead our country. We have this one chance to do the right thing…please do not waste it.
Please look over this list of people who believe Santorum CAN win. Do not allow yourself to be “media sheep” … vote for the best man in this race. Give him a chance to make America great!

I would too. Unfortunately the GOP just declared Romney the winner in FL, with 40% of the precients (how ever it’s spelled) yet to report in.
Yet in Iowa, with only 8% waiting to report in the GOP falsely declared that one a ‘tie’.
Any thoughts?
My comment against Newt has gone 48 hours awaiting moderation. The TPP has become as bad as the MSM. And please stop calling my home at 8PM asking for donations.
The Tea Party Patriots’ mission is to restore America’s founding principles of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets. As for the bailouts, Newt wasn’t even a member of Congress when they were legislated. As far as fiscal responsibility is concerned, Newt is the only one of the candidates who worked to balance the budget four times when he was Speaker. And he is a strong advocate for free markets, but with level playing fields. As for a Constitutionally Limited Government, his only difference with Ron Paul is in respect to the Constitutional mission of our National Defense posture, which is clearly defined in the Constitution as defense against violence, whether foreign or domestic. It’s primarily an issue of National Security, which can only be maintained through identification of all threats, both foreign and domestic, and the diplomatic or military power to curtail and/or defeat them before they become attacks. We should never be in a place of having to experience an attack such as occurred on 9/11/2001.
we of Canyon county hand ada had a caucas vote Prevote any wauy 173 Ron Paul 137 Mitt Romney. right now SOTR idaho are as a total groupgoing out and working on Ron Pauls behest. we have 32 delegets this year and the big boys may be here to visit us. we need to keep these boughten votes out of our primary. as the republican party is heavily against Ron paul.
Ive vbeen in the national TPP for years now ive terminated that allianse because of agents from not only the Republican party but admitted agent pravacateurs.
we only get this chance then this game is over and this tyranny is now becoming afraid of what we are doing.
Gingrich Supporters in Florida Endorse … wait for it … Gingrich!
http://www.libertarian-examiner.com/2012/01/gingrich-supporters-in-florida-endorse.html
Romney ignored the TPP and numerous other conservative groups from Iowa to Florida. Some people why the TPP and others don’t favor Romney?
If you really want to be ignored and disregarded now and into the future just follow the establishment do as you are told. Reach out to Romney and if you are lucky he won’t slap it back.
Romney needs to do the reaching out and much more explaining to do. Talk is cheap.
In reference to the Tea Party Patriots mission statement: no more bailouts; fiscal responsibility; Constitutionally limited Government; free markets; what is the ultimate goal? Is it not to discover, endorse, and support those individuals in the political arena who best represent those objectives? Let’s be real! Are there any candidates that can be defined as “perfect” in the view of every one of us in the Tea Party coalition, who all have differing interpretations as to how to best fulfill our mission? And this is perfectly legitimate. So again, what is the ultimate goal? We should unite and endorse and support those that most closely embrace our mission, because if we don’t our voting voice will be diluted and those who do not will win by default. In line with this reality check, my suggestion is that the one Presidential candidate that most closely embraces the core values and principles of the Tea Party Patriots mission is Newt Gingrich. He does not claim to be perfect in every personal way and has been open in his repentance of past shortcomings. Let us ask ourselves the question: am I perfect? So let us not act as judge of those matters, but look clearly at his past performance in those issues having to do with our core values. Let us unite and let our voice be heard!
Is TPP a GOP PAC?
My insight – - most people were never taught or encouraged to think for themselves, so any evidence they may look at and consider is overshadowed and overwhelmed by crowd-think.
Most are also products of their education, which is overseen and funded by an administration whose aim is to mold “proper” citizens. The evidence to this is the growing acceptability of putting forth political agenda not only in classrooms, but in ever increasing younger classrooms – feed them the party line.
I will only vote for the true Tea Party candidate, Ron Paul. The rest are garbage.
Foreign policy, isolationsim and iran pretty much sums it up…Paul is before his time. If paul did not feel this way he would be the faveorite.
While the TP does not endorse any specific candidate, and the members are free to choose as they may, the message the TP once brought forth no longer stands.
According to the straw poll, Newt is the TP choice in Florida. Newt stands for “reforming” the system… which is a BIG contrast from them TP core – which is to change the system back to it’s roots- the constitution and nothing more.
What this tells us is that the TP is no longer what we once thought it was. It has changed and evolved to a Conservative Republican voice. That is not the same movement that only stoods for the constitution-the ONE thing that brought all citizens together. I personally think it’s a shame. It was a wonderful moment when we didn’t have to argue about Reps vs Dems and we could all stand unified as citizens.
These polls show that the TEA Party has been corrupted by the same establishment infiltrators that corrupted the Republican party, that people who have been lied to for years are content in being lied to by the same people again, or that the polls are just phony.
Newt supported the healthcare mandate, cap and trade, and gov’t intervention to stop “climate change”. He received a “dishonorable mention” on Judicial Watch’s 2011 top 10 most corrupt politicians list. He supported TARP and parts of the stimulus, particularly the gov’t investing in electronic medical records. Where is that in the Constitution? If TEA party members are either that gullible that they only listen to Newt’s pretty words rather than actually looking at his track record (much like Obama’s supporters did in 2008) or they have sold out their principles, we are a doomed movement and may God help America. Ignorance is not a valid excuse any more!
Newt was a supporter of Reagan, he was the architect of the Republican takeover of Congress, he oversaw 4 years of balanced budgets, he forced Clinton to become more moderate and passed major welfare reform, he stood against the liberals and the Republican establishment and was punished with ethics violations, all of which he was exonerated! NEWT is TOUGH, he is intelligent and he will wipe up the floor with Odumbo!! He believes in the Constitution, and as a historian, he knows more about our Republic and our Founders than all of Congress combined!
I am puzzled, being a supporter of the Tea Party and a real conservative, how anyone could support Newt, after seeing his picture with Pelosi supporting Al Gore’s crap. He made $10,000 an hour writing “history” for Fannie Mae (no I don’t believe that). Spent his life in Government. On his third wife.
I believe the Tea Party is the best chance we have for saving our Country and I worked hard in the Perot for President and only to have him cut and run. We need to be careful on who we support and not just someone who keeps saying he made a mistake over and over again. Yes, I support Mitt, who may not be as conservative as I like, but I think he is very honorable and can save our country.
Keep up the good work and lets get rid of Obama!
Tea Party, Shmee Party. In other news around AmericaMinusFlorida, Ron Paul won the Tennessee and Arizona state straw polls by landslides.
This GOP had better wake up and smell the Liberty.
I’ll tell you, if the tea party movement was to educate voters on how to get limited government into office, Florida has truly failed. Bailouts, Global Warming, individual healthcare mandate Newt who is the prototypical Washington insider is your choice? Do you think, or just do what the media tells you? I’m either voting for Ron Paul, or third party. Many think the way I do. So, u think you’ll win with another John McCain type? Good luck with that. Your primaries just got u 4 more years of Obama. Congratulations, sheep.
I for one am done with the Tea Party, when Ron Paul is polled at 50% “not enthusiastic” it’s obvious the movement has been hijacked by the Republican mainstream. Time to “unlike”.
It’s my understanding that the TPP doesn’t specifically endorse any candidate ~~ but urgently supports our constitutional process. Personally I beleive part of that process must include sufficient time to directly listen to each of the GOP candidates multiple times and to resist the elite 24/7 media’s mind numbing agenda to herd American voters to a speedy wrap-up. No doubt many American’s can’t help but be suspicious. EACH of the GOP candidates carry an important message ~~ TPP undoubtably is embracing that which is at the heart of it’s core values.
I’m confused by this result. Gingrich has promised to build a trillion dollar base on the moon by 2018. How is spending trillions on moon bases with tax payer money a TEA Party value? I though the TEA Party was about fiscal constraint and reduced spending. Gingrich has so far promised to build bridges in NH an interstate hiway in SC and now a base on the Moon. It seems to me that sleezy pandering politicians that say whatever the crowd they are talking to at that moment wants to hear is the old way not the TEA Party way.
I happen to agree with the reasoning expressed in this Straw Poll, so let me try to explain.
We have at present four Republican candidates. Another may jump in, but let’s not consider that until it happens. None of the candidates are perfect. The same argument — how could we vote for X based on his voting record — could be made for any and all of them. The obvious reasons for preferring Newt are that we are not restricted only to the voting record.
Who has reached out to the TP? Newt. Rick, some. Not Mitt.
Who has money and momentum? Mitt, and Newt. Not so much Rick or Ron.
Who is electable? Mitt, Newt, Rick — all maybe. Not so much Ron.
Whose organization is trying to redistrict Tea Partier Col. Allen West out of office in FL? Mitt.
Who is trying an organized smear campaign against Newt (and the TP)? Mitt, GOP & Co.
We have to pick from the existing alternatives. We have to support those that take us closer to where we want to be. We can’t wait for Mr Perfect. We still stand for a return to the Constitution and limited government. We have to make the best choices we have on how to get there, regardless of the limitations and failures of those who are available.
Remember that it is easier to take over the Replublican party, and transform it to a TP, than to do it from scratch. Once the GOP is conquered, we take over the Donks and split them, from the inside. Take a longer view.
You forgot to mention that (as stated by Wikipedia) “Ron Paul has been characterized as the “intellectual godfather” of the Tea Party movement”. That should count a lot, yet it’s not reflected in the straw poll. Also, if we dissipate our strength, how can we take over the GOP? And forget ever taking over the Democratic Party, they are 100% big government socialists now.
Although the odds are stacked against a viable 3rd Party forming, we might have to go that route. With increasing “Independents” dissatisfied with both Major Parties, if the GOP finally collapses, we can then replace it as the small, Constitutional government alternative to the big, Unconstitutional government Democratic Party.
He certainly is as far as the ‘economics’ go. As for foreign Policy he, and Rand dropped the ball.
I don’t want the Tea Party to endorse anyone because that person will be vilified so much in the media that he will never make it to the next primary. I’d like to think we each need to have the freedom to choose which candidate. Ron Paul comes the closest to the Tenets of the Tea Party, but for me I’m uncomfortable with his stance on the illegal drug issue and the fact he believes our treatment of the middle east is the reason the muslim countries don’t like us. I believe the radical muslim extremists do not like us and will never like us no matter what we do.
Your analysis is excellent.
We must send as many delagates to the convention with TP membership as possible and force our positions in the platform. Hopefully that will be more than the cardinal three.
TP positions in the platform provide much more leverage on the Republican candidate, if elected. I am not real confident about at least one of the candidates being satisfactory for the Tea Party.
Jake Roach
I find Newt Gingrich very concerning. He has made contradictory comments regarding any topic of concern. I do not understand the strong support for this candidate. I think Mitt Romney is not presented correctly as a weak candidate, etc. Ann Coulter endorses Mitt Romney and she is a very strong conservative.
@Ray, I understand where you’re coming from but fail to see how to get to your final goal. I can’t phantom transforming Newt. Even IF he could be “transformed”, how can he be trusted and not be another ‘flip-flopper’? Newt is brilliant, evolved if you will. It doesn’t get any better than Newt….so I don’t see Newt changing his brilliant, evolved, perfected self to meet the demands of the rest of us mere mortals.
In my opinion neither Newt or Mitt have an ounce of integrity and either one could be the poster child of a Washington Politician. We’ve had enough of those.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
At this time I believe the most important thing is to rid the country of Obama. As an old time Dem who has seen the light,I believe very much in the values of the TP and believe a new party must come. The power grabbers in both parties are unacceptable. I hope for a “American Constitutional” party some day. At this time , however, I believe Newt is the best choice to change DC, hit the ground running on day one. The old saying, “The enemy of my enemy, is my best friend” suits Newt very well.
CONSERVATIVES:
The next time a liberal tells you that conservatives don’t care about people, explain to him or her that conservatives are simply huge fans of harsh reality. We know full well the dire consequences of stupidity and we are just trying to educate liberals. Harsh reality is mean, we are only the messenger. Liberals, on the other hand, are the ones who wear flip flops on a hiking trail and conservatives are the ones who carry the stupid out. How can they say we don’t care about people? Now get the hell off my wagon unless you can help push.
ENSLAVEMENT
If you vote for a democrat you vote for enslavement. Few of us would be willing to vote against getting our tax payer supported government check. If we do not vote against getting our government check then we are enslaved to the buffoons who buy our votes with tax payer dollars.
The same reflections can be made “everything is relative” style, yet the noble and brave Tea Party style respect of the USA, needs to spend a little to restore the image.
How can so many fellow Americans ostricize any mention of the Tea Party even within the GOP? Something needs to be done. Washington,Media,Universities and even relatives need to know how important this election is. Never have we been in doubt, yet we are being flanked by the fear in our fellow Americans’ hearts. This is why opposition to the Tea Party is so unfortunate. Fear. Fear of standing up to ennemies within. Fear of facing friends that oppose us. My brother in-law has only harsh words, insults and closed arguments that make me feel alone…yet I am not alone thanks to all of you patriots.
Forever on call. Just like a politician in my own little sphere of life. Just like a Gingrich, imperfect but willing to fight for my ancestors,my family, my hard worked days, my hope and above all my freedom. I can help others understand and love our country enough to do the right thing. Thanks to people 100% of the time like me.
All of my support, financial and otherwise, has now ceased for the TPP’s. If this group of people can’t figure out through the simple use of Google that Gingrich is a progressive then I want nothing to do with you. You can as a group support anyone you choose, but if this is who you choose good riddance.
Not only does Gingrich have serious flaws in his value system and lacks and principles I agree with but he supports Obamacare & Romneycare.
Lets take a quick stroll down memory lane with the “consistent conservative”
Gingrich has:
Voted for the Fairness Doctrine (he was a cosponsor)
Believes in Amnesty (or legalization as he calls it)
Sings praises for SEIU’s Andy Stern and the wonderful Al Sharpton
Has friends like Pelosi, Gore, Kerry, and Arne Duncan
Supported Cap and Trade, TARP, the bailouts, Bush’s Prescription Drug Plan
And voted for a $3.5B increase for The Dept of Education
Just to name a few. Of course if you go to his website these are all lies, but fifteen minutes alone with Google and you will find none of these are lies and his website is just another lie.
It looks as though the TP’s day has come and past. No longer do members do any thinking of their own instead they simply listen to FOX and eat up whatever scraps of information are being thrown their way. Or believe whatever clever retort Gingrich spews during a debate or interview. I remember a time when the TP was against the individual mandate because it was unconstitutional and government run health care would drive this country into the ground – both financially and morally, just like socialized medicine has in the EU and UK.
The last bastion of hope suckered buy a closet progressive liar who sells out his own daughters in an attempt to gain votes and more campaign cash.
If you believe electing a progressive is a way to take over the Republican party then I would suggest you have a flawed plan and pray that I am wrong.
I am dissappointed in my fellow tea partiers. Newt? really? I am anybody but Newt on the Repub side followed by a anybody but Romney. Does it matter the lies Newt spews now to try and cater the tea party vote? It better. I will NOT vote for a progressive, big government that think he is better served to spend my money. Records do mean something.
Mari said it best with the quote “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”.
I don’t know who to vote for tomorrow. Newt’s association with freddie and fannie is my biggest problem. I have no doubt that the crisis was entirely caused by their backing of subprime loans. I will probably vote for Mitt only because I want someone that understands finance and economics.
As a member of one Tea Party in LI – NY I will like if somebody explain me why
Tea Party Patriots endorsed Newt Gingrich.
In Liberty
The simple fact that the tea party “PATRIOTS” even consider Newt Gingrich a choice has removed all credibility in my book. Too many people still plugged into the matrix. I am officially disassociating with the tea party.
For liberty,
EKS
It saddens me to read all the negative comments directed toward Newt Gingrich, especially during these times when his abilities are needed more than ever before in our recent history. When the times are good and we are rolling along with out problems on the monumental scale they are today, I can understand your whimsical atittudes demanding we support only the candidate reflecting TPP core values, or not at all. It seems to me that many of you view the events occuring in our nation as just a chapter in a child’s story book. If you spent as much time looking for the positive accomplishments of Speaker Gingrich during all the years he has served this nation in D.C. you would find many achievments that have helped America prosper over the years. However, you seem to enjoy parroting the negative aspects of distortions printed in a media dedicated to his destruction. It is easier to find fault, along with the crowd you are part of, than it is to risk standing up and speaking words reflecting the truth about a person, especially when the truth is contrary to a majority of disidents currently spewing lies and distortions about the person.
Those who would have you believe Newt is not the right man need to ask yourself, “if he isn’t, then who is”? Who else knows there way around D.C.s processes well enough to avoid pit falls a rooky would make, as they went about correcting the mess we will be looking in 2013? Who else will have the balls to stand up to the dictators of the Middle East and clearly state the terms and conditions of how America expects them to behave in the world? The leaders of that part of the world only respect power greater than their’s, and if you doubt that, think back to the day after Reagan was sworn in and how quickly the Iranians put our hostages from the embassy on planes to come home.
We need a man who will abolish Obamacare on the first day by a presidential mandate, not wait for individual states to come up with their own plans when they have the time.
Yes Newt has the insider’s experience to know exactly what it will take to accomplish the tearing down of all crap errected by the man in the oval office today, but what would you have in his place? A man who could stand before us and proudly declare he was standing by all the laws in the Constitution as the states fought with in their borders on every minutia in their efforts to make sense of how to manage programs once handled by the Feds in D.C.? Then you who so desperatly want to be able to stand before the nation and declare Ron Paul the winner and how much better off we will be for it, can proudly puff out your chests and watch as we all crumble in a heap of isolationist crap and listen as other nations waiting for us to crumble, laugh their collective asses off at our final demise.
We do not have the luxury of time right now to become such purists in our acceptance or rejection of the ideal candidate. We can’t afford to satisfy the egocentric whims of you who would rather fold your arms across your chests and boast how you stayed home and didn’t vote because “your man” was not the final candidate on the ballot. Whether you like the battle you are in now or not is not the question to waste time on. It’s time to get off your proud little behinds, gather the ammo necessary to fight this one and get the job done. We can argue over cold beers later as we shout at one another who could do a better job, your guy or his guy. But one thing will be clear. We won’t have to worry if tommorrow will be the day we become a satilite nation to the Soviet Socialist Republic of China/Russia.
When we are not facing potenial destruction of our nation by a Socialist liberal with no regard for the Constitutional Laws
The solid conservative who expresses the ideology of the original Tea Party is
RICK SANTORUM.
If all who say they like him would have the courage to back him and work for him, we could elect the leader we say we want.
Listen up Tea Party Patriots: the political pundits are all pointing out the Tea Party failure so far this year:
1. We can’t unite enough to get a candidate nominated who supports our 3 main principles
2. We don’t have the money to help conservative candidates get elected
In other words, read: Tea Party –> FAILED !!
These are not my opinions, this is basically what I heard all over “Fox & Friends” this morning & especially from Laura Ingram (& others).
I will NOT support Romney, I’ll vote 3rd Party if it’s Romney vs Obama.
I’ll consider voting for “mixed bags” Gingrich & Santorum.
I’ll gladly support the only candidate that is rock solid in favor of the Tea Party Patriot’s 3 main principles: Ron Paul.
The Tea Part leaders better get their act together or our nation will continue to head towards the collapse that they say they are trying to avoid.
I know these are tough words, but wake up people & smell the coffee. Face reality!
Frank, you’re spot on !!
Frank & Mari, Rome was not built in one day. It even took god 6 days to create our World. We must play our cards as they are dealt and move maybe slowly but steadily ahead. There is no perfection here on earth and we ALL have skeletons in our closets. In our current situation we must move with the best we can muster and stay on course but move ahead. Newt is only a beginning and a President under OUR Constitution does Not Legislate therefore we must work the Local as well as General Elections to get those who do Legislate in power to do the will of the people.
Dolly, I respectufully disagree. “Rome wasn’t built in a day…” and we don’t want to end like Rome. ” We must play our cards as they are dealt and move maybe slowly but steadily ahead.” We need to stand, NOW. We don’t have the luxury of time – thus, we don’t have the luxury of getting it wrong either. We need to find the fire in our bellies, and the passion that moved our forefathers to create this great nation we live in. I don’t believe it’s to late. We can’t afford to play the political games any longer. Actually, “We The People” need to demand it stops. Lets not be complacent with our ‘hand’, our fate will never be sealed unless we concede. I don’t concede.
There’s a war going on between the Tea Party movement, conservatism in general and the GOP establishment. So much so that they’re not even trying to hide it any longer. The shenanigans deployed by the GOP party “elders”, first in Iowa against both Newt (first negative ad assault) and Rick (conveniently missing precinct tallies for the headline grab) and now in FL against Newt (coordinated attacks), have only served to further alienate the conservative majority. If the GOP oligarchy continues with this blatant and corrupt process while continuing to ignore the majority, they will lose the general election and have no one to blame but themselves.
The fact is most Republicans (more then 65%) still want someone OTHER then the Massachusetts liberal at the top of the ticket. Even if the grandfather of Obamacare takes FL in the end, and it looks like he may with his Goldman Sachs millions and coordinated GOP assault against conservatism, it does not mean the end. I mean come on, it’s still VERY early in the process. Plus the fact that FL forfeited half their delegates, it’s a long, long way from ending. Let the lemmings celebrate with their perceived victory. We’re not going away quietly and if the fight takes us “right” to the convention floor, then that is where the final battle for the heart and soul of the GOP will take place. This party is just getting started!! We the people can be heard, we will be heard. If it then comes down to a 3rd party, so be it!
Now, we need inspiration.

Face reality? Ron Paul vs. OBAMA? Tea not coffee. Paul is already dividing the vote in favour of the worst choice. Your reality is loosing it for the only one that knows how to do it.
All the others don’t have the experience of winning and fighting big battles. Cut, cap & balance is a 999 tax reform plan and we know Gingrich has done it before. This is why the Tea Party is seen as obstinate, the Tea Party will prevail and back the only man that can.
Look at MR,RP,RS ‘s records in success on Capitol Hill… DC will deal around the weaker elements. As OBAMA failed with the same lack of experience , he now has to Face Reality and the people. Who will face him and his fan club and say in a loud and clear voice “NO MORE violations of the constitution,no more lying and cheating the people of their hard earned money”? The media likes to provoke the Tea Partiers because we are all growing stronger as election day comes…If the people take money from Romney and give him or Obama their voice, we have no choice but to re-fertilize. There will be a lot of manure left over for another 4 years and another hopeful crop of patriots.
About the candidates I say
“Right now anything beats Obama”
The Tea Party will go through growing pains as it becomes larger and more people begin to understand what our goals are and that our goals are theirs ( The people ) right to claim as an American their liberties as set forth in the constitution and the bill of rights. We need to look at the forces out side of the tea party, I am talking about the progressives and the socialists that surround us, as factors that will help add numbers to the tea party as a whole. Big government has been becoming more and more forceful with their agenda and as they do more people become disillusioned with politicians like Obama and Pellosi that want to ram their agendas down our collective throats. I feel that, like any organization, as we grow we evolve or morph into what all the members represent as a whole. The trick is to keep the core values first and adjust where we can adjust. I write this to illustrate the point that we are not immune from change and as we change their will be some such as fellow patriot Mari ( from the above comment) that become confused about the direction we are going. Make no mistake we are still all about the core values. However with our numbers increasing and a melting pot of ideas being infused into the existing body we will need time to package ourselves as a party that keeps the core values and is flexible enough to incorporate new ideas from a growing membership. Do not think the tea party has abandoned the cause that started it. It has not.
i hear many looking for a right person.i have read the very papers and studied them . those words placed in blood on the declarationn of independence,Constitution, and Bill of rights.
In them i believe is a word of the peoples meaning . And i Aslk who exemplifies this word the most. I have worked on the campaign of Mitt Romney in 2007and 8 but found that his controllers are the same as Newts ,Santorums and yet this man would remove 1 trillion dollar debt in one year. And would increase our defense structure here in this nation but remove bases no longer needed andremove us from trying to become and maintain this Empire which has been building.
V+Common sense this is all we need to supplant the lie which was brought into being since 1913 in the establishment of the Federal Reserve.
Ron Paul is the only person i can consciencely vote for.
ARTICLE ON NEWT GINGRICH… TheReaganWing
the conservative conscience of the Republican Party
http://thereaganwing.wordpress.com/2011/11/20/the-phony-right-wing-…...
Thank you for this info. The one problem I’m having is trying to understand how Gingrichs’ foes haven’t exposed this information. I also wonder if his(Gingrich) thinking has changed as much as my own has changed in the past 40 years. I know one thing for sure, we will not recognize America should Obama be reelected.
NWO Newt is a fraud. He like Romney are members of the CFR. Research for yourself. The “Elite” control both sides. This is why they forced Cain out. They couldn’t have a candidate who was rising in the polls who was “out of network”. What network? The political crime syndicate “they” control. Who are “they”? The people who wrote the health care law, that tells congress and the President what he is going to do. They own the Federal Reserve, control the oil, start wars. Ron Paul will show poorly in the polls because he is the last candidate standing who is opposed to the FED. Why do your think Rand Paul was harassed by the TSA? Because the Paul’s as in father and son, are not part of the network. The lamestream want us to stay focused on Gingrich and Romney, just as they did Obama and Hillary in 2008. Wise up Patriots. We need a non-network President who is a true conservative, who will defend the constitution, get us OUT of wars, and end the Fed.
One of the core tenants of this movement is LIMITED GOVERNMENT. Newt is for LIMITED GOVERNMENT, never was and never will be. I am afraid that the movement may have been co-opted. Maybe time to head for the exits. Not happy about this.
Newt is not for LIMITED GOVERNMENT, never was and never will be. (word dropped, sorry)
So Ken Wheeler, do you think Newt will not do as he pledges to do if elected. We know Romney won’t. I like Santorum the best but he lacks the spunk of a leader (so far). If you add the voting support for the simi-conservative Newt with the more conservative Santorum, then you have enough to overpower corporatist Romney. I think soon, either Santorum or Newt should pull out or we’ll be stuck with another 4 years of bad luck.
Ron Paul is the choice.
I’m not into straight jackets so Ron Paul so he didn’t win my support on his weak to the core national defense stance even Obama has more resolve at bringing it to our global enemies. Newt has been the only candidate that supports my ideas in manned space flight goals. Rick just can’t get the fire started with the voters yet but remains my second choice. Mitt is in my mind a near vote for more of the same.
Edit: remove (so ) from comment. Add behind Paul…. (isn’t my candidate. That’s why).
Gingrich Supporters in Florida Endorse … wait for it … Gingrich!
http://www.libertarian-examiner.com/2012/01/gingrich-supporters-in-florida-endorse.html
I say that the Tea Party is founded on principles and should not put all of our faith in flawed men. We should be about principles and not about men, we should reject the idol worshipping that the progressives do so famously. None of these candidates have earned the right to represent my Tea Party. The only important outcome of this election is that the current occupant of the White House be evicted. The important representation is in the House and Senate. Any President except Obama will move the ball forward as long as we get adequate representation in Congress. If the Tea Party Patriots continue to pick candidates I will remove myself from the mailing list. I have been to all the major rallies in DC and attend monthly Tea Party meetings locally, but I will divorce myself from the Tea Party Patriots if they don’t remember our founding principles.
Tea Party is failing alright–failing to get behind the candidate that is the most closely aligned to the Tea Party values. Newt is that candidate. If he is not, why is that the Republican establishment is so viciously attacking him. Here’s a clue: he doesn’t care about political parties. He cares about the American people and their governing documents. When he says he wants to reform Washington the establishment starts squirming. That fact that he led the fight back in the 80′s and 90′s to reform congress and make it the most conservative body in our lifetime; the fact that he balanced the budget four consecutive years; and the fact that he is the heir to the Reagan legacy speaks volumes to me. He is the only candidate that is bold enough to shake up Washington and return our government to a government that the founding fathers envisioned.
I don’t understand this poll, Dr. Paul is more aligned with “Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets than any other candidate running. Can someone provide some insight into this gap?
COPIED:
It is said that Mitt Romney has made some of his millions from the companies that went under leaving tens of thousands of people out of work.
We wonder, he has not INVENTED or manufactured anything like Steve Jobs for example.
Why he has his money in the cayman Island and in Swiss banks INSTEAD banks in USA ??
Is NOT that, UNPATRIOTIC ? PLEASE RESEARCH, INVESTIGATE BEFORE VOTING.
Now with the endorsement from The Donard, it REALLY SEEMS BOTH WILL BUY THE AMERICAN PRESIDENCY , If WE THE PEOPLE DO NOTHING…….
I happen to like Newt given the choices we have. Unlike Obama, Newt has a record and compared to what we now have, I call it superior. I really don’t trust Romney. He is not a true conservative. I don’t believe him when he says he will appeal obamacare, after all Romneycare is his pride and joy and he would unleash it on everyone given the chance. I like Rick Santorum, but he scares me more than Romeny because I can see him spending his first two-year in office devoted to social issues related to marriage and abortion and letting the important economic stuff go. We need to start digging ourselves out starting day one. Ron Paul, lets face it, he is not a serious player. That brings me back to Newt. He is the only one who balanced the budget in my lifetime. He is the only one who reformed welfare. He is the only one proven to be able to work with the opposite party; and what if the Dem remain in power. For me these attributes cancel out the negative. I started out with Herman Cain. Then he dropped out. Given the choice I go with the resume, with Newt. I am tired of hearing he can’t win because he is not as elect able as Romney. These were the same people who say, it is not possible to balance the budget and reform welfare. Right now what we need is big ideas for really big problems and even people who hate Newt give him that. These are the reason why a lot of TP folks votes for him, campaign for him and donate money to him.
I agree completely with Ken Wheeler.Newt Gingrich is an insider. The group that flys under the radar, the “elite and the international bankers” are know as the “Council on Foreign Relations.Check out their roster.Newt is a director. They run the Fed and provide the important cabinet and State Dept.appointments for each President going back to Wooddrow Wilson. They also own the media including Fox (Mr. Murdoch is also a member of the Council)and control what you get for news. Most “elites” like the Rockefeller family have tax free foundations which collect the profits from their operations and are tax exempt. The people of this country are caught up in Dems vs. Repubs or conservatives Vs libs.Until we get educated enough to understand whats happening in America, we can expect to continue our demise.Newt Gingrich assisted Bill Clinton(another CFR member in opening trade with china and getting NAFTA passed.I could go on.Our people must do their homework and read about these happenings.Find a patriot organization and ask for help in finding information on the Fed and the CFR for openers.Thr information is a little hard to get but it’s available.Newt Gingrich will continue the same stategies already in place by our Govt.
Santorum and Romney are the acceptable candidates still in the running. I like Santorum more, but Romney has the money and organization.
We are all sunk if Newt gets the nomination, which would virtualy guarantee Obama a 2nd term with a more Democrat congress.
I believe some in the Tea Party Patriots are mixing who we think can win or who is the most socially conservative with WHO will be FOR Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. I would like to see the TPP organization not even take a poll. I really believe we need to keep trying to elect people to the House and Senate that believe in our tenets: Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. If we can get enough politicians of both parties to support us, the President of either party will have to work with us. It’s true the GOP is closer to us than the Democrats, but the Libertarian Party is just as close, if not closer, to our ideals. If a straw poll is taken, there needs to be a poll with two issues. Who do you think can win and Who do you believe can represent our mission of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. Ron Paul comes closest, but Romney is probably better able to win. Gingrich has made the primary process all about him and not the issues and Santorum has made it more about the social conservative issues than fiscal conservatives issues.
Do ALL Voters in the other States realize that in Nevada ONLY (eight ) 8 % of registered voters showed up to VOTE on 2/5/12 ?
Bishop ROMONEY won ! TRUE,…. but HE CAN NOT generate a passionate loyalty !
He is there but he is NOT inevitable any more !
HE WILL LOSE TO OBAMA FOR SURE !!
NO one ( except himself, family and friends ) is truly exited about his NEVADA WIN with such DISMAL , bordering in deprecatory TURN OUT !
SANTORUM. PAUL, GINGRICH,,,, YES !!
MORMON BISHOP ROMONEY ???.. NoooooOOOO !!!!!!!!
SANTORUM stronger than ROMONEY against OBAMA ! Nationwide poll )
I believe the work of the TP this year is to change the Congress to conservative thinkers who can influence and persuade the president to make the right choices for America. Although I am not happy with the field of GOP runners, my biggest concern is to rid the oval office of its present “Vacationer in Chief”. For all of you that are truly concerned about qualified representation, take at look at the web site http://WWW.GOOOH.com.
I am getting a little bit tired of Sarah Palin whining about Mitt Romney.
Rick Santorum and #Newt Gingrich are both Washington D.C. insiders.
Sarah Palin did not finish her first term as Alaska’s governor; she was picked by senator John McCain for his vice president candidate, she did not run for president 2012, she did not participate in any of the debates this year, she sat on the sidelines like a spectator, and now she wants to pontificate.
Mitt Romney is not Goliath. He is just a smart investor, businessman, and a good family man.
Sarah Palin is like some kid who got a C grade on her report card and now is complaining about that Mitt Romney getting an A+.
I grew up in Boston, Ma. I remember in the eighties when my Irish neighborhood and I voted for Ronald Reagan for president twice.
Is #Sarah Palin calling all those Massachusetts men and women who have served in the U.S. Military Massachusetts moderates, including myself?
lets ban together to defeat the left,,with stlye
